I'd say that most Heatran in fact aren't running Hidden Power in their movesets, but since you're using an offensive nature it might have some additional niche value. Definitely not required though, since you have a lot of other excellent options like Earth Power, secondary STABs and Taunt etc. for offensively inclined sets^^

Not gonna lie, this is mostly a bragging post because I'm so happy about it and it only took me an afternoon, but does pentagon Heatran require a good Hidden Power for trade value or is this worth keeping?

As D_what said, Heatran can even want to have Stone Edge, so the Attack is useful. Hidden Power whatever is really not neccessary, not even the common Choice Scarf set runs it. This is a very good keep, how does one do that in one afternoon 0.o?
