Oricorio-Sensu @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Dancer
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Hurricane
- Revelation Dance

Oricorio will almost always force Gurdurr out due to it being immune to its Fighting-type STABs and abuse it by setting up one of either a Sub or CM, or simply go for the OHKO. Even max attack Adamant Gurdurr cannot OHKO with Knock Off due to the Z Crystal, but don't take it if you really don't have to.

COUNTER

Musharna @ Fairium Z
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Dazzling Gleam
- Moonlight
- Psychic / Barrier

Musharna can take Knock Offs from Gurdurr for days and heal up with Moonlight if needed, all while boosting with Calm Mind, and it only need to be at +1 to OHKO it with Twinkle Tackle or make it a roll with Psychic. Barrier is an option to take even less from Knock (and also help if it tries to Bulk Up) and just make Gurdurr an absolute joke but that's almost insulting which is why I slashed it.

Counter

Qwilfish @ Black Sludge
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 116 Def / 140 Spe
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Taunt
- Waterfall

With Intimidate and a resistance to Gurdurr's STAB, Qwilfish can easily take advantage of it by forcing it out and getting a free turn to set up hazards. Preventing setup with Taunt, weakening it with Intimidate, and generally softening it is very helpful for late-game, especially since Qwilfish functions very well on Hazard Offense teams.

-1 192+ Atk Gurdurr Drain Punch vs. 252 HP / 116+ Def Qwilfish: 33-40 (9.8 - 11.9%) -- possibly the worst move ever

-1 192+ Atk Gurdurr Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 116+ Def Qwilfish: 58-69 (17.3 - 20.6%) -- possible 7HKO after Black Sludge recovery

Counter: Granbull

Granbull @ Normalium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Play Rough
- Earthquake
- Heal Bell
- Toxic / Thunder Wave

Granbull is always a guaranteed switch into Gurdurr as Intimidate, Fairy Typing, and no item to Knock Off gives it nearly no draw back from doing so. The next turn then can be used to fire off a STAB Play Rough coming from Granbull's hefty base Attack stat or a status move in the form of Toxic and Thunder Wave. If Granbull should get weakened over the course of the game, Z Heal Bell is always an option to be fully recovered from damage and status, while it is also relatively easy to get a Z Heal Bell off on Gurdurr because of how little damage it does to Granbull.

-1 192+ Atk Gurdurr Drain Punch vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Granbull: 32-38 (8.3 - 9.9%) -- possibly the worst move ever

reserving shiinotic.

Shiinotic @ Leftovers
Ability: Effect Spore
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Strength Sap
- Moonblast
- Leech Seed
- Spore

Shiinotic is probably one of my favorite lower ranked mons and can easily wall Gurdurr because of its typing, it can induce sleep onto Gurdurr and then 2HKO it with Moonblast.

Picking Oricorio Pom-Pom as a Counter
Did you expect anything else?

Oricorio-Pom-Pom @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Dancer
EVs: 248 HP / 228 Def / 32 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hurricane
- Revelation Dance
- Calm Mind
- Roost

Oricorio Pom-Pom is able to resist Gurdurrs drain punch and takes minimal damage from knock off due to holding flyinium-z. In return, Pom-Pom takes advantage of Gurdurr as set-up fodder with calm mind, or just threaten it out with hurricane or supersonic skystrike. It's able to do this throughout the course of the game, even with stealth rocks up, since Gurdurr gives Pom-Pom a relatively free roost.

192+ Atk Gurdurr Knock Off vs. 248 HP / 228 Def Oricorio-Electric: 65-77 (18.4 - 21.8%) -- possible 5HKO
+1 192+ Atk Gurdurr Knock Off vs. 248 HP / 228 Def Oricorio-Electric: 97-115 (27.4 - 32.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
0 SpA Oricorio-Electric Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Gurdurr: 270-320 (72.1 - 85.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 SpA Oricorio-Electric Supersonic Skystrike (185 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Gurdurr: 452-534 (120.8 - 142.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Reserving Palo Taking too long, so not reserved anymore, but I'll do it wgen I get a chance if someone else doesn't

I think this Mesprit set is more a check, mostly because counters don't take 41-48% from a Pokemon that it counters. This would mean that with a little chip damage, Mesprit can not switch into Gurdurr at all.

EDIT: My bad in that call then. I was more under the assumption that Counters were Pokemon that could repeatedly switch in throughout the game.

My Gastrodon submission last week was counted, and that still took around 75% from a +2 Focus Blast. The definition of a counter is something that can come in on a Pokemon and either wall it completely or KO it with no danger of being KOd itself. This Mesprit set can do just that. Also, chip damage isn't factored in, we're assuming both mons are at full HP.

Gastrodon is different in the way that it has reliable recovery, meaning it is able to reliably stay out of fblast range throughout the game, and therefore works more as a counter than a check. Not my call to make, but that's my take on it

Palossand @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Water Compaction
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Shadow Ball
- Toxic
- Shore Up

Counter

Colbur Palossand easily takes at least 1 Knock Off and it immune to Drain Punch and Mach Punch, rendering any offensive measure Gurdurr could take useless. Gurdurr could try to Bulk Up, but Palossand KOes it before it can KO and Palo can Shore Up anyway.

192+ Atk Gurdurr Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Colbur Berry Palossand: 65-77 (17.3 - 20.5%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock
+1 192+ Atk Gurdurr Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Colbur Berry Palossand: 96-114 (25.6 - 30.4%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock
+2 192+ Atk Gurdurr Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Colbur Berry Palossand: 129-152 (34.4 - 40.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock
192+ Atk Gurdurr Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Palossand: 130-154 (34.7 - 41.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock (Itemless +1 does the same)

4 SpA Palossand Earth Power vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Gurdurr: 112-133 (30 - 35.6%) -- 34% chance to 3HKO

Flyinium Z Swanna as a Check
(sorry not sorry twix)

Swanna @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Scald
- Hurricane
- Roost

Swanna can switch into Knock or Drain Punch if needed, but it can take a lot from +1 after rocks and is easily pressured which is why it's a check. Swanna can always revenge kill with Flyinium Z as well. Swanna should try and preserve the Z crystal, but it can use it's Z crystal if Gurdurr is not in range.

192+ Atk Gurdurr Knock Off vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Swanna: 93-110 (31.9 - 37.8%) -- 93% chance to 3HKO~~~Can do 50-ish with Stealth Rock up.
+1 192+ Atk Gurdurr Knock Off vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Swanna: 140-165 (48.1 - 56.7%) -- 89.1% chance to 2HKO~~~ Can do 70 ish with Stealth Rock up.
252 SpA Swanna Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Gurdurr: 318-374 (85 - 100%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Swanna Supersonic Skystrike (185 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Gurdurr: 530-626 (141.7 - 167.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
