reserving mamoswine and heracross

ban mamo (Mamoswine) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 152 Atk / 180 SpA / 176 Spe
Naive Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard
- Freeze-Dry
- Earthquake

Royce da 5'9" (Heracross) (M) @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Facade
- Close Combat
- Knock Off

So basically with this core im tryna get in this team's ass, pause. These 2 pokemon eat this team alive, pause. Mamoswine's rocks can help cripple Brobat into ice shardish range, and nothing on the team can safely switch into Mamoswine anyways. Now, with Heracross, if this team lets it get a SD off, it might sweep, cuz it shreds through the 2 biggest threats to Mamoswine (Cobalion and Rotom-W) like cheddar, and they can't really do too much to it :o.

Celebi @ Groundium Z
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Giga Drain
- Psychic
- Earth Power

Scizor @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Def / 124 SpD
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower

Nasty Plot Celebi has the potential to perform very well against this particular team, because it can come in on both Seismitoad and Rotom-W quite easily while also luring Alolan-Muk with a Groundium-Z boosted Earth Power. It can also 1v1 all 6 members of the team in a pinch, provided it's at +2 after forcing out one of Seismitoad or Rotom-W.

--- +2 252 SpA Celebi Tectonic Rage (175 BP) vs. 40 HP / 188 SpD Assault Vest Muk-Alola: 354-418 (98 - 115.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

--- +2 252 SpA Celebi Psychic vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Altaria-Mega: 235-277 (80.7 - 95.1%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

--- 0 Atk Crobat Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Celebi: 218-258 (63.9 - 75.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

--- 252 Atk Cobalion Corkscrew Crash (160 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Celebi: 204-240 (59.8 - 70.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

--- +1 252 Atk Pixilate Altaria-Mega Facade vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Celebi: 183-216 (53.6 - 63.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Bulky SD Scizor rounds out this core nicely as it can take down Cobalion, Crobat, and Mega Altaria without forcing Celebi to 1v1 any of them and still threaten out Seismitoad and Rotom-W for as long as possible. This set traditionally runs U-turn in the 4th slot, but I've decided to replace that with Superpower to help better combat Cobalion.

--- +1 252 Atk Altaria-Mega Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 136+ Def Scizor: 116-137 (33.8 - 39.9%) -- 31.1% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

--- 0 Atk Technician Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Altaria-Mega: 152-180 (52.2 - 61.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

--- +2 252 Atk Cobalion Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 136+ Def Scizor: 243-286 (70.8 - 83.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

--- +2 0 Atk Scizor Superpower vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Cobalion: 346-408 (107.1 - 126.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

--- +2 0 Atk Technician Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Crobat: 195-229 (52.1 - 61.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

(forces Crobat to continuously Roost and Haze while Scizor slowly brings it down because Crobat is itemless and +2 BP damage outpaces Roost's recovery)

---------------

Our next team is from the distinguished Eyan!

Heracross @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Facade
- Swords Dance

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Tri Attack
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Recover
- Thunder Wave

Aerodactyl-Mega @ Aerodactylite
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Aerial Ace
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Klefki @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 124 SpD / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
- Spikes
- Thunder Wave
- Toxic
- Play Rough

Jellicent @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover

Krookodile @ Groundium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock

The team basically follows a not too hard to understand plan of Heracross + Spikes + Thunder Wave and general status support. Next up was the core of Klefki, Jellicent, and Porygon2. Klefki is the spiker, Jellicent the spin blocker, and Porygon2 being the general catch-all midground check to threats. Overall, they share some decently good defensive synergy too. Krookodile was for rocks and just another way to prevent hazards from being removed, and Groundium Z reduced Knock Off damage + deals major damage to general switch-ins. Aerodactyl was for some final speed control since 2 Pokemon with Thunder Wave doesn't cut it that way for me. Overall, general strategies to dealing with big threats involve pivoting between the defensive core and getting the right status inflicted before either walling them to death or getting rid of them with one of the harder hitters.

Reserving Mega Altaria + Magneton

Altaria-Mega @ Altarianite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 104 Def / 152 Spe
Impish Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Refresh
- Roost
- Return

Magneton @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power Fire

The combination of Mega Altaria and Magneton is a tried and true core where the idea is to remove or heavily weaken any opposing Steel-types (Klefki in this team's case) with Magneton before attempting to finish off the rest of the opposing team with Mega Altaria. Here I have opted for a more defensively oriented sweeper set on Mega Altaria (more commonly known as DDD or Defensive Dragon Dance) because it basically allows for an easier time setting up against this particular team. This team happens to feature three hard-hitting physically oriented mons in Mega Aerodactyl, Krookodile, and Heracross, and trades a specially offensive presence for the defensive backbone that is gained by the use of the other 3 members of the team. This benefits Mega Altaria immensely as it can even set up on and/or take down these offensive threats while also having its way with Porygon2 and Jellicent. It's also important to note that Porygon2 can trace Mega Altaria's Pixilate and start to fire off super effective Tri Attacks, however the damage output is still low enough to the point where setting up is still possible barring RNG.

Magneton's set is similarly standard, and I have chosen to run a Choice Scarf on it to outpace Krookodile and Heracross in a pinch while retaining momentum and checking Jellicent well enough without having to fully commit to risking Will-O-Wisp and Taunt sequences against my own Mega Altaria. The main purpose it serves however, is to obviously trap and down Klefki to clear the runway for Mega Altaria. It's basically one of the most generic yet effective complements to mono-attacking Mega Altaria, and one that has the potential to put in some serious work against this particular team.

Here are some calcs to help you picture Mega Altaria's potential offensive and defensive impacts versus this team:

252 Atk Guts Heracross Facade (140 BP) vs. 252 HP / 104+ Def Altaria-Mega: 170-200 (48 - 56.4%) -- 89.1% chance to 2HKO

0 Atk Pixilate Altaria-Mega Return vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Heracross: 362-428 (120.2 - 142.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

0 SpA Pixilate Porygon2 Tri Attack vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Altaria-Mega: 138-164 (38.9 - 46.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

+2 0 Atk Pixilate Altaria-Mega Return vs. 252 HP / 120 Def Eviolite Porygon2: 183-216 (48.9 - 57.7%) -- 95.3% chance to 2HKO

252 Atk Tough Claws Aerodactyl-Mega Ice Fang vs. 252 HP / 104+ Def Altaria-Mega: 146-172 (41.2 - 48.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

+2 0 Atk Pixilate Altaria-Mega Return vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Aerodactyl-Mega: 325-384 (107.9 - 127.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO (Needs +2 to outspeed Mega-Aero and should live 2 Ice Fangs barring crits. This team doesn't run any priority so it can proceed to Roost the next turn on anything that doesn't threaten to KO it)

+1 0 Atk Pixilate Altaria-Mega Return vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Jellicent: 211-250 (52.2 - 61.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 Atk Krookodile Tectonic Rage (180 BP) vs. 252 HP / 104+ Def Altaria-Mega: 208-246 (58.7 - 69.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (Can possibly delay mega evolving until it's at +1 to avoid this)

0 Atk Pixilate Altaria-Mega Return vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Krookodile: 342-404 (103.3 - 122%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Reserving (Taunt + Toxic) Gliscor + Suicune

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 16 Def / 144 SpD / 104 Spe
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Taunt
- Toxic
- Roost

Suicune @ Waterium Z
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Calm Mind
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Both of these mons are extremely hard to kill for this team. The only real way to break through them is to bust them down very quickly with Heracross, but due to the lack of hazard control and burn damage from Flame Orb, this isn't very reliable long-term. With rocks up, Aero can only scare out Gliscor four times as well, which Suicune can come in to force out in turn. Porygon2 can come in and stop Gliscor from throwing Toxic around willy-nilly but doesn't actually beat it in the long run because it's not running Ice Beam. In addition, Waterium Z Suicune can aim to semi-nuke Heracross
(0 SpA Suicune Hydro Vortex (160 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Heracross: 163-193 (54.1 - 64.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after burn damage), making the process of waiting it out with Gliscor even easier. If for any reason Gliscor lands a Toxic on Jellicent, this also means game over as Crocune will pretty easily stomp this team out with Jellicent on a timer. This Gliscor set also happens to never be 2HKOd by Jellicent's Scald --
0 SpA Jellicent Scald vs. 244 HP / 144+ SpD Gliscor: 146-174 (41.4 - 49.4%) -- 99.8% chance to 3HKO after Poison Heal --
(trust me when say I've been using this set for SpD Gliscor, it outspeeds Jolly Scizor since it can stop Swords Dance reliably that way, and doesn't check HP Ice Mega Mane either way). These two essentially sit in on 5/6 after Heracross gets whittled down, and are under essentially no pressure once this is accomplished.

While Jellicent is willing to take down Choice Scarf Krookodile by virtue of Colbur Berry, once consumed the repeated abuse from Knock Off and the potential Pursuit would be a game-changer. Choice Scarf Krookodile allows it to soften Mega Aerodactyl's Ice Fang and trap it with Pursuit or outright kill it with Stone Edge, allowing Moltres to come in without any problems. Speaking of Moltres, the speed cut on paralysis nerf allows even paralyzed Moltres to set up on Klefki and is helpful for outrunning even Mega Aerodactyl at +4.

PS: This is pretty free to just spam volt switch and uturn against this team tbh
