After nine exhausting weeks, we have finally reached the fun part of the tournament.

Congratulations to everyone who made it. Both the returning veterans and newer faces who made it for the first time should be proud of this. Don't forget to thank everyone who helped with this tournament, from the many individual hosts to those who helped count statistics.

For anyone that is unfamiliar with the format of Smogon Tour, in the playoff stage each pairing will face off in a best of three series in the SM, ORAS and BW2 OU tiers. The higher seed picks the first tier that will be played, with the loser picking the following game. Win 2 out of 3 and you are one step closer to the prestigious pink trophy.

Because there is a tie for the 16th seed, there will be a tie-break to determine the last playoff entrant.

Banned deucer.
16a. Nintendi vs 16b. Mounts

1. ABR vs. 16. Nintendi
2. SoulWind vs. 15. Marshall.Law
3. blunder vs. 14. Alexander.
4. PDC vs. 13. Posho
5. Poek vs. 12. Steve Angello - loooooooooos
6. craing ;_; vs. 11. Lcans
7. FlamingVictini vs. 10. Empo
8. Ciele vs. 9. Kickasser

Well congrats to everyone who have made it in, looking forward for some sick games.

1. ABR vs. 16. Mounts : Honestly i'd predict ABR to win this game in a normal day, but Mounts is one of the most underrated player in this pool and someone you should take seriously when preppin', however Mounts tends to be a little one dimensional by mostly using aggressive teams, being unpredictable would be your best weapon against a player of this rank. Can't wait, GL&HF both!

2. SoulWind vs. 15. Marshall.Law : Marshall has made a cool performance that week which brought him into playoffs, but i think he lacks that solidity in all 3 tiers that Soulwind carries, even though Marshall might get an advantage as he is that type of player who may use unconventional teams/sets when it comes to 1V1, which is one of the best threats against a good player. Should be fun to watch. (S&M / ORAS)

3. blunder vs. 14. Alexander. : Probably the highlight of this round, both are capable players and Alexander already has an individual trophy to prove it, i would support blunder on this one because he's a better builder, but Alexander is better at battling, i guess this serie will come down to B&W. I'm hyped for that game.

4. PDC vs. 13. Posho : PDC was on fire these past weeks, if he stays on that track i don't think he's losing this, posho is not bad as well but he's not that good either and i think PDC has more experience in term of tour. (B&W / S&M)

5. Poek vs. 12. Steve Angello : Have no worries, i'm not mad at you for closing my path to playoffs in such a frustrating way, it's pokemon w/e, but at least win this tour, it would make me feel twice as good. (B&W / S&M)

6. craing ;_; vs. 11. Lcans : Did you think he quit ? Nah this man just training in mountains ;] (S&M / ORAS)

7. FlamingVictini vs. 10. Empo : Empo is cool but FV has way more experience than him and is also a better player overall. Good Luck though. (S&M / B&W)

8. Ciele vs. 9. Kickasser : All i can tell is that ciele is gonna get his kickass'd. (S&M / ORAS)

1. ABR vs. 16. Nintendi - I think it's abr's tour to lose, the gens fit his wheelhouse completely. 2-0 whatever tiers are picked.
2. SoulWind vs. 15. Marshall.Law - soulwind is always a threat and he should make it quite far - sw wins bw and oras
3. blunder vs. 14. Alexander. - highlight of round 1 imo, series could go either way but blunder will squeak it out - blunder takes bw and sm in a 3 game set
4. PDC vs. 13. Posho - another really close series, should be a good one. - pdc takes bw and sm in 3 games
5. Poek vs. 12. Steve Angello - Might be the second highlight of the round, steve should handle bw and squeak out one of the other 2 gens. - steve takes bw and oras in 3
6. craing ;_; vs. 11. Lcans - ben aint playing
7. FlamingVictini vs. 10. Empo - FV is stronger - fv wins in the first 2
8. Ciele vs. 9. Kickasser - oddly low seeding for ciele but he's one of the strongest players in the field - another 2 in whatever gens are played

16a. Nintendi vs 16b. Mounts

1. ABR vs. 16. Mounts- this guy's lucky and skilled, guarantee we see him in finals
2. SoulWind vs. 15. Marshall.Law - KING sw
3. blunder vs. 14. Alexander. - blund wins in 2
4. PDC vs. 13. Posho - if PDC doesnt get unlucky he'll win
5. Poek vs. 12. Steve Angello - every time i see poek he wins i swear
6. craing ;_; vs. 11. Lcans - craing:'v
7. FlamingVictini vs. 10. Empo - if FV johns till deadline he'll win
8. Ciele vs. 9. Kickasser - ciele is cute and good

left side sweep D:

The ORAS games from Nintendi vs. Mounts and the winner of that vs. ABR will be absolutely amazing. I don't wanna pick the tiebreak because it's so nice. Nintendi has the BW advantage but it's nothing insurmountable, as Mounts uses strong teams and plays very well so it's one to watch for sure. The SM difference is negligible, gut feeling going slightly to Mounts, and ORAS is dead even. Feels more like a semis or at least quarters matchup than a tiebreak. ABR is the obvious favorite over either given how he's performed lately but both contestants are going to be very tough to crack and wouldn't be terribly surprising for them to pull the upset. However, it's ABR in top form, so that is a tall order and predicting against him is quite foolish. Hopefully there are no gimmicks here and we get the great Pokemon these three promise us.

SW has the clear advantage in all 3 but Marshall could take BW with a surprise. If SW locks down in ORAS and plays like he does in the regular season he should take it.

blunder has the advantage in SM and ORAS. BW is more even but if our friend Patel stops playing like a goober in this tier when it matters, he will be fine. Alexander is a tough opponent of course, he did win his trophy in ORAS so that game in particular will be key. BW is similarly important. With a one-game advantage from SM, I believe blunder will have the awareness necessary to advance. Looking forward to it.

If PDC continues his trademark style that's got him competing for most uninspired player for the third year running, Posho shouldn't have trouble taking advantage of it and shutting it down, at least in ORAS and BW. That said, if PDC continues to look alive with the genuine thoughtfulness he's played with these last few weeks, Posho could be rattled. It's up to him to not get thrown off and fight back. This series could be a one-sided smacking (either way) or a great back-and-forth. I hope for the latter.

Steve has been tearing BW up despite not being known for it and that is Poek's weakest tier. That said, the Spaniard is sure to have some excellent help. The same goes for the other two gens, although these are the ones Poek has made his name in. Of course, these are the ones Steve has repeatedly shown his stuff in as well. Both players enjoy unorthodox strategies in ORAS/SM, so those will be interesting. BW is sure to be well-played with some solid teams. Steve never seems to be the favored player but he and his trusty cig somehow always manage to come up with the W, so an upset would not be too surprising. In any case, this'll be entertaining.

ben is coming off some serious momentum as well and his gimmicky yet solid strategies have shown themselves consistently effective (well, usually) over the past two generations so he's a strong contender in those. He started out in BW and was one of the more well-known ladder heroes, whereas I have not observed Lcans in BW, so likely advantage ben there. However, Lcans was picked up in SPL as an underrated ORAS talent, and when I played him in SM he was absolutely excellent so I can believe the hype. Interesting clash between two very different players; the big question is how ben will shock and wow the Smogtours lobby in the post-Megagross metagame.

FV vs. Empo stands out as a battle of two high schoolers; god knows how this will ever get done with the amount of homework those poor kids have. That aside, the ORAS game is one to watch, as both players are unafraid to go off the beaten path, FV is a proven clutch artist and Empo's record in it this season was ridiculous. FV is a very careful player so he'll be tough to crack; I think he's got a better handle on BW and I haven't seen much of Empo in SM so FV looks to have the advantage. If Empo can grab one of those, it's a different ballgame, but ORAS is dead even, so we will see. Should be a good one, if it happens of course.

Kickasser appears to be the latest in the line of prodigies France foists upon us. I haven't seen him play personally but he's got some pretty mean stats and an even meaner name. Of course he is against Ciele, who I give the advantage to in ORAS and BW while being no pushover in SM. The only question is if we'll see Kickasser wield one or two Mega Medichams, it just seems like a very French Pokemon for some reason. Oh I guess maybe its main STAB move has something to do with it, but still. Like, I expect at least one from Mounts as well.

This tour is looking seriously stacked, it'll be very exciting to follow. Glad to see so many new guys in playoffs alongside the returning vets. There are many, many winners I think would be deserving here; pretty much the entire left side, actually, but everyone's quite a threat at this stage. Lots of good games promised; of course if they end up being one-sided it doesn't count so let's hope that's not the case. Also two weeks is ridiculous come on guys one is enough.

2. SoulWind vs. 15. Marshall.Law 60:40 [bw, oras]

soulwind's like stoursexual likeeeee the thirst for this trophy is fuckin palpable & i would be sad if he lost.

3. blunder vs. 14. Alexander. 56:44 [bw, sm]

i'm quite a fan of both of these players so i'm really looking forward to this series & the abr/tiebreaker one the most. blunder's bw game in tour from last year prob scarred his mind as much as mine so i reckon he's boutta reup, hone his inner hugo, and drop the thunthunthun. i am hoping to see some tactical manoeuvring from my fave smogon male azn (condolences fam, haishera takes the cake for fave ashun), as per usual. this isn't to say that alexander won't put up a fight, tho. homeboy's got a strong game going in the smogon album and this will surely translate to zarel's dancefloor. blunder's teambuilding and support gives him the general edge even tho i feel the luchadora is as capable if he plays well.

4. PDC vs. 13. Posho 48:52 [bw, sm]

i don't have anything to say about this matchup. posho's a nice boy and so is pdc but i think posho is just more aggerssive and explosive. intuition.

5. Poek vs. 12. Steve Angello 54:46 [oras, sm]

hey steve do yu remember in 2011 when yu fucking cancered in our po clan?? i still do u goddamn buffoon. ur nick was tim back then tho. why tim to steve? neither of those are german, either. oh well.

i've nevr spoken to poek before but i enjoy his aura. he kinda reminds me of tsunade--this rugged, yet amicable mummafucka that fins break ya neck at the split of a hair. i've watched a lot of his games in detail and the conquistador has a knack for picking good teams and relying of wholesale plays instead of matchup. respect for this dudes game. i reckon & hope he goes far.

6. craing ;_; vs. 11. Lcans 65:35 [oras, sm]

i ain't making the unconscionable decision to write shit bout u bc u finna pm me on discord trolling me bout how i complimented u once u repugnant ass troglodyte. secretly hoping u lose, benny.

7. FlamingVictini vs. 10. Empo 58:42 [bw, sm]

empo fucking unfollows me and follows me every other day on this goddam website so cream his hairy, italian asshole u fucking nurdy ass ashun.

8. Ciele vs. 9. Kickasser 55:45 [bw, oras]

ciele has a knack for being able to consistently trounce lesser skilled dudes in bw and that definitely gives him a pretty big advantage for the rest of the series assuming he takes that game 1. i'm sure we'll be seeing some unwieldy alomomola doubles in the other tiers which will eventually culminate in a ciele W via toxic stall. i can't really comment much on kickasser much b.c. i haven't see many replays of him, but he seems to be a competent dude so it'll be a good series. he got a kinda reymedy-esque vibe in his teams tho, a la franch, and king CL dispatched that oaf with his regen tactics last tour, so byosb: bring yur own stall breakers.
