Cool beans.

People: QUAGSIRE. ISN'T. GOOD. 95/85/65 are solved by one thing: Special Grass moves. Remember when everything carried Grass Knot for Pert? I miss those days...

Jellicent is only 18? I feel like I have been seeing him on like very team lately....

Swampert at 44?!?! C'mon guys, he's a beast!

Thanks again R_D! People don't realize how much work it actually is....including me....

?? you mean invincible. Because Quagsire is excellent and I'm surprise it hasn't caught on yet. It can pretty much check every common booster in gen 5 OU.

I ran max/max Sp.Def Quag with Stockpile, Toxic, Recover and Scald, and it could stall out non-spec'd HP Grass or Hydro Pump from Politoed in rain when at +2/+3. Just saying.

Quagsire deserves his spot.

swampert on the other hand needs to drop. what can it really do special besides its cb set (which imo is his best set this gen)

Celebi too pro but gets beat up by scizor in the rain. All grass types not named ferrothorn or roserade are. It also beats up every bulky water including rotom-w

oh wow... Huntail is so low in RU!!! at this rate, it seems like he'll be NU whenever that tier forms. seems like people just prefer Gorebyss aesthetically... (or it's the special attack stat)

Ferrothorn- Power Whip
Tyranitar- Scald isn't gonna do shit to it, and EQ doesn't do too much either
Scizor- Unaware doesn't negate Choice Band, and CB U-Turns hurt
Politoed- most carry a Grass move
Gliscor- Scald's damage isn't that bad
Latios- What can Quagsire do to it?
Rotom-W- This just laughs at everythign Quagsire does
Excadrill- I'm pretty sure EQ OHKO's
Thundurus- Grass Knot, while soemwhat uncommon, OHKO's
Dragonite- laughs at Quagsire, especially with Multi Scale + Roost
Heatran- You got one
Jirachi- Nothing's stopping Quagsire from getting ParaFlinched
Reuniclus- AGAIN, laughs at him
Skarmory- Free Spikes.
Conkeldurr- It still gets Guts boost, and Drain Punch does a hefty chunk even without
Gengar- Shadow Ball
Jellicent- Easily outstalls
Starmie- STAB Hydro Pump
Magnezone- You have two

So WOW, Quagsire can effectively wall TWO of the top 20 pokes in OU. how. amazing.

He wasn't talking about Quagsire walling the entire Top 20. Why are you even attempting that? He was talking about dealing with stat boosters.

And the fact that most of those pokes he listed are stalled by Toxic and/or Swagger. +3/+3 defenses Quag is nearly invincible except for STAB special Grass type moves. HP Grass is manageable.

my predictions for july, if Thundurus remains OU (lol)

Thanks for the stats, these are awesome.

Not surprised at all at Politoed's rise to the Top 5, it was only a matter of time. The rise of Celebi, Virizion, Thundurus, etc along with it is to be expected. As for Toed itself being located halfway between the "standard sand team," I don't think that's a fair assumption given that Rotom-W, Latios, Ferrothorn, Scizor, and Thundurus are all rain mainstays as well.

I'm somewhat surprised that Metagross fell so hard this time around. If anything, the loss of Garchomp should have helped it out - it still hits hard, makes a great check to the Lati twins (particularly in rain), and has all around bulk. Hm.

Magnezone is awesome as always. I've been experimenting with a Specs set (lots of pokemon capable of running the item seem to be overlooked in favor of other sets), and it works just fine. HP Fire / Thunderbolt / Flash Cannon / Volt Switch is effective so long as you have a switch-in for ground-types (Rotom-W works well here, what a surprise).

While I'm most interested in rain's super-jump, the other stats are quite interesting as well. Ochem has swallowed up my summer free time (NEVER take this class if you can avoid it), so I guess I'll just spend the rest of this round testing lower-ranked OUs.

Am I the only one that finds it hilarious that the Pokemon that counter Garchomp rise in usage as soon as he's banned? Looking at you Mamo, Zong, & pals.

I'm really curious as to how nidoking is top 10 when gorebyss is number 44 and venomoth is number 41.

| 77 | Kyurem | 2009 | 2.1401 | wut

Archeops has almost leet usage! Pity more people don't use the guy.

UU usage stats are rather sensible this time around; there are no electivires yet, it seems.

Anyway, thanks RD.

I'm still curious as to reasoning behind the widening gap between Milotic (who breaks the Top 10) and Suicune. Haze? That's the only notable thing I can see. Marvel Scale isn't that amazing. I mean, it just seems like Suicune would be the more solid choice overall.

Some things I noticed:

Salamence fell! (What in the world, I've been seeing more of them now.)
Celebi is in OU!
MAMOSWINE IS IN OU! OH YEAH!
Magnezone and Thundurus moved up.
Espeon moved way up(>_>)
TERRAKION MOVED UP! YEAH!
A lot of changes, looks like Chomp being banned really shook OU up.

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Sassy, 252 Hp / 176 Def / 80 SpD
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Recover

Ferrothorn- Power Whip
Tyranitar- Scald isn't gonna do shit to it, and EQ doesn't do too much either EQ will 2HKO and Tyranitar can't do anything back. Anything
Scizor- Unaware doesn't negate Choice Band, and CB U-Turns hurt SD Scizor is countered, it's not supposed to sponge CBturns although it can recover them off it Scizor switches in
Politoed- most carry a Grass move No they don't but usually I don't use quagsire to counter politoed, use a grass type / rotom
Gliscor- Scald's damage isn't that bad Gliscor doesn't do anything and you can usually 2HKO with scald. You completely counter gliscor
Latios- What can Quagsire do to it? Latios beats quagsire with specs DM or trick
Rotom-W- This just laughs at everythign Quagsire does. Rotom laughes at toxic! And it can't 2hko back!
Excadrill- I'm pretty sure EQ OHKO's Ok I guess you are joking at this point
Thundurus- Grass Knot, while soemwhat uncommon, OHKO's. Ok but the most common np set is completely countered
Dragonite- laughs at Quagsire, especially with Multi Scale + Roost. toxic + recover beats it.
Heatran- You got one more like 8
Jirachi- Nothing's stopping Quagsire from getting ParaFlinched [/b] scald burns and earthquake. Quagsire will beat Jirachi like 95% of the time[/b]
Reuniclus- AGAIN, laughs at him walled and pp stalled although you will want to bring another counter if you don't have curse. if you have curse you completely counter it
Skarmory- Free Spikes.
Conkeldurr- It still gets Guts boost, and Drain Punch does a hefty chunk even without don't scald it, just EQ it. You should have a gliscor anyway
yea for the next three
Gengar- Shadow Ball
Jellicent- Easily outstalls
Starmie- STAB Hydro Pump
Magnezone- You have two more like 10

You try using Electivire when there is Donphan, Intimidate Arcanine, Celebi, Rhyperior are absolutely everywhere in UU. He'll get curbstomped.

Tyranitar- Scald isn't gonna do shit to it, and EQ doesn't do too much either
Are you for real? Cursesire's EQ stomps all over T-tar any day of the week.
Scizor- Unaware doesn't negate Choice Band, and CB U-Turns hurt
Not after a defensive boost it doesn'tand why you'd try keep switching it into a CB U-Turn is beyond me.
Gliscor- Scald's damage isn't that bad
You could also just Waterfall it as well.
Latios- What can Quagsire do to it?
I should like to think you'd have the sense to switch.
Excadrill- I'm pretty sure EQ OHKO's
Now you're talking out of your ass. Excadrill needs LO Adamant to even barely get 50% on most Quagsire builds and most Exca's prefer Balloon.
Dragonite- laughs at Quagsire, especially with Multi Scale + Roost
Unless he is packing LO Draco Meteor Cursesire is eventually gonna pummel its face in.Stockpile version not so much.
Jirachi- Nothing's stopping Quagsire from getting ParaFlinched
Paraflinch and then what? Jirachi can barely even outdamage Quagsires lefties after a +1 def boost let alone +2. More like Jirachi runs out of PP first. Nobody with a shred of common sense would try to beat a Quagsire with Jirachi.
Conkeldurr- It still gets Guts boost, and Drain Punch does a hefty chunk even without
Quagsire is like the premier counter for any non Burn orb Conkeldurr, it plain overpowers the thing.
Gengar- Shadow Ball
Somehow I doubt it'd like a STAB Waterfall from a Cursesire as well.
Quagsire did not slowly start shifting towards OU out of some incoherent reason or magic considering hes not even on the radar in UU. He actually counters many top OU threats quite solidly. Also you completely disregard he has TWO sets not one.

I'm still curious as to reasoning behind the widening gap between Milotic (who breaks the Top 10) and Suicune. Haze? That's the only notable thing I can see. Marvel Scale isn't that amazing. I mean, it just seems like Suicune would be the more solid choice overall.
Reliable recovery, Dragon Tail and Haze as extra options seem to do it for it. Otherwise yeah I'd agree Suicune at times is better rounded.

Well yeah, the reliable recovery is a given, but I guess it's all the more important now since Rest basically got a nerf thanks to the new sleep mechanics.

^I imagine Curse Quagsire could make good use of Rest since he doesn't need to worry about the opponent using the free turns to boost up in his face. In exchange he gets rid of his crippling Toxic and Burn weakness.

If that's the EV spread you're using I suggest you change it because it's pretty inefficient.
