Arena: A 20m by 20m floating slab of rock inside Cinnibar Volcano. There is a 2% chance that the volcano will erupt, in which case, the battle ceases, as everyone evacuates. The Winner is determined by the percentage of Max. HP remaining. There is also a 20% chance of a lava plume (off a rank 3 SpA) hitting your pokemon at the end of each round. Water and ice moves cannot be used, as the temperature is sooooooo hot that the water evaporates before it reaches it's target. No rock moves (that nedd a source of rock) can be used, as there are no rocks within usable distance, except for the floor. Removing rock from the floor could cause the trainers to fall into the lava, and is such banned. Magnitude and Earthquake are banned, as they may trigger an eruption. Dig cannot be used, as the slab is too thin.


Alright, i'm here at the Cinnibar Volcano and it is HOT! Seriously, it's pretty flippin' hot! I have no idea why someone would want to fight here, but it appears that two people are at it! Let's see how it goes!

Called it. Mama, give him a Screech to negate the Intimidate drop. Bulldoze as he Howls, see if you can force him towards the edge of the platform. Protect the Close Combat.

Round 1. The Round Where Not Much Happens.

Well, it currently seems that Mama has the advantage here, but Firion is faster and howls rather Intimidatingly, causing Mamas attack to drop. But now Mama is trying to be intimidating herself with a loud Screech, lowering Firion's defense. Firion, feeling like he needs to yell more, Howls, invigorated with the thrill of the (rather hot) hunt. Mama doesn't like the loud sounds though, and Bulldozes Firion. Firion then tries to Close Combat yo Mama, but Mama throws up a Protect just in time.

Firion begins the round by giving an angry look at Mama, probably having something to do with not caring for him enough during birth. Mama then prances around saying "Larvi larvi!" which when translated says "Neener neener!" raising Mama's hopes and attack (and speed.)

Firion, angered by this random and insulting move from Mama, uses Close Combat on Mama, hurting the poor larvitar quite a bit. Mama then decides to Bulldoze Firion even further to the ledge with her (ahem) wide girth. Firion, getting weaker and weaker, uses a desperate Reversal, hitting Mama with all he's got, but Mama continues to Bulldoze away at Firion.

Firion is getting pretty close to the edge, but due to Bulldoze being physical, Mama is fairly close too.

Firion starts off by harnessing the power of the sun (which ironically, wasn't incredibly bright, just normal) by using Morning Sun, restoring 25 HP. While Mama was looking up at the sky, Firion was able to slip to the opposite side of Mama. Mama, rather ticked off that Firion would do such a thing, uses a good Brick Break on him. Firion then unleashed a Close Combat on Mama, showing no mercy on the poor larvitar.

Mama then tried to Bulldoze Firion to the other end of the stadium, and for the most part it worked. The bruise and battered Firion attacks Mama with a viscous Reversal, but Mama Protects herself with her (ahem again) large girth.

It all comes down to this. Firion, severely weakened by a number of Bulldozes, is struggling for consciousness, but Mama isn't looking so good either.

Firion desperately unleashes a Close Combat to finish Mama off. As Mama falls down and everything starts to fade, a voice calls out to her...


"Never give up! Trust your instincts!"


As light begins to filter back into Mama's eyes, she can see Firion, dancing a victory dance. Filled with the rage of a thousand angry mothers (plus peppy,) Mama gets back up and charges into Firion with massive strength, causing Firion to be knocked out and fall incredulously close to the lava.

"No!!" Arcanite cries out as he runs to his poor Growlithe and holds him in his arms. He then rushes to the nearest pokemon center to heal his pokemon.

Mama, thrilled at her victory, runs to her trainer to be hugged in a loving embrace.
