So that's where Objection gets his ideas from! King Serperior vs Maxim

Ok, I have a free battle slot and want to try out an arena. I require the ref to be creative or, at the very least, interesting!!

Ok, with that said and done, here is the arena:

The Ref's Mind!!
Field Type- Varies
Complexity- Simple-Super Intense
Format- Varies
Restrictions- Varies

The Ref's Mind: The mind is a powerful thing, so its time we used it to maximize the opportunity to have interesting battles! The battlers have somehow found themselves inside the creativity center of the referee, and they are at his mercy! the ref can make anything happen, and controls all aspects! from the arena setting to the accuracy of moves to the color of the pokemon! for example, the first round might be in an volcano, and if a player uses a bug type move twice his opponent will lose 10 energy! the match can be as simple or as intense as the ref wishes. Battlers have fun coping and adapting to what the refs throw at you!

Type:
<Electric>: Electric STAB; 50% reduction in paralysis chance from other electrical attacks, perfect accuracy and 30% chance of Protect breaking Thunder during Rain. Superior senses in power plant environments.
<Steel>: Steel STAB; Immune to Sandstorm, highly insusceptible to toxic attacks, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, can be magnetized. Superior senses in high-metal environments like construction sites or factories.

Abilities:
Sturdy: This Pokemon’s body is solidly constructed, reducing the Base Attack Power from an opponents incoming attacks by one (1). The effect is amplified on OHKO Moves, which are reduced by ten (10) Base Attack Power.
Magnet Pull: This Pokemon has the ability to generate a magnetic field that can attract or repulse Steel-type Pokemon. When attracted by Magnet Pull, Steel-types cannot move out of the immediate proximity without great difficulty, and can be pulled along by the Magnet Pull Pokemon. When repulsed, the Steel type is thrust violently away and contact attacks have immense difficulty striking the Magnet Pull Pokemon. The effect of both commands lasts for the following three (3) actions. Steel types cannot switch out in a Switch=OK battle while a Pokemon with Magnet Pull is on the field without the use of Baton Pass, U-turn, or Volt Switch.

Ground STAB; Immune to all electrical attacks, can Dig through almost any substance, Evasive Digging reduced from 3 per action Energy Cost to 2 per action, superior senses in darkened cave surroundings.

Abilities:
Rock Head:
(Innate) This Pokemon’s hard body prevents it from taking recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, and Head Smash.
Lightningrod: (Innate) These Pokemon naturally attract electricity to themselves and away from partners in double battles. When struck with an Electric attack, they transfer the energy into their body, using it to increase their Special Attack by one (1) stage. A boost gained this way by an opponent's attack will be maintained at the end of each round. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts. Initial arena

Starlight Garden

The pokemon are battling in what appears to be a seemingly-endless garden. A fountain provides an external water source and a rockery provides external rocks for the pokemon. Due to the abundance of grass and plant life, Grass Knot has its BAP increased by either 2 or half of the target's Weight Class, whichever is greater, and all other Grass-type moves except SolarBeam have their BAP increased by 2.

It is always night in Starlight Garden, meaning that the healing from Morning Sun is halved, SolarBeam has its BAP reduced by 3 in clear weather and 2 in rain, hail or sandstorm, and Sunny Day and Drought will cause intense moonlight instead of intense sunlight.
Intense moonlight does not adjust the BAP of Fire-type and Water-type attacks, but it allows SolarBeam to be used at its normal BAP as a 0 priority attack with no charge-up action. Thunder and Hurricane have their normal accuracy in intense moonlight. Weather Ball's BAP is doubled but it remains Normal-type. Abilities that are active in intense sunlight such as Chlorophyll, Solar Power and Forecast are not active in intense moonlight. The moves Moonlight, Morning Sun and Synthesis have their healing increased just like in intense sunlight. Pokemon can still be frozen during intense moonlight and Growth increases attack and special attack by 2 stages (and has its energy cost increased by 2) only if the user is or at some point evolves into Parasect, Shiftry, Cacturne or Amoongus.

Finally, Starlight Garden is a naturally calm place. If a pokemon is hit by a sleep-inducing move and is not immune to sleep, it falls asleep for either 1 action or 2 actions with a 50:50 chance of each (pokemon with Early Bird will always fall asleep for 1 action only). In addition, Taunt and Torment have their energy cost reduced by 3, but they only last for 3 actions. If a pokemon uses Rage or Belly Drum or is hit by Rage Powder, then until the pokemon switches out, uses a move that causes it to switch out (such as U-Turn) or is hit by a move that causes it to switch out (such as Roar), the effects mentioned in this paragraph do not apply when that pokemon is put to sleep or uses Taunt or Torment.

And that's just the first arena I have in mind for y'all! Who knows when I might decide to make some changes?

How it's gonna go down
  • King Serperior sends out his first pokemon
  • Maxim sends out his first pokemon and gives orders
  • King Serperior gives orders
  • I ref and come up with more crazy shit

Ok, max, let's get the small fry our of the way first!!

Go, Bane!!

*Bane appears flopping around before King Serperior Drop Kicks it into the fountain*

Well, let's start with Quartz (Sorry KS, it's probably my weakest mon :/)

Thunderpunch~Bonemerang~Thunderpunch
If Bounce, replace action with Dig

Bane (M)

So King Serperior and Maxim have decided to battle in my mind? Well let's hope the thoughts in the deepest, darkest vaults in the far corners don't break into this beautiful garden I've created for them.

Anyway, King Serperior begins by sending out Bane the Magikarp, to which Maxim responds by choosing Quartz the Cubone. Bane begins by blowing Bubbles on Quartz before the Cubone's fist becomes electrically charged (how a Ground-type gets electrically charged I do not know) and he strikes with a ThunderPunch. Bane continues to attack with Bubbles, even as Quartz throws his bone like a boomerang at him. Did I say boomerang? More like a Bonemerang. Then, suddenly, the Magikarp jumps out of the fountain to Dodge Quartz's next attack. Bane's reflexes are so good that Quartz's ThunderPunch simply hits the water in the fountain.

But what's this? One of the plants in the garden is growing unusually fast. Hey, I didn't plant any onions! Oh, hang on, this is no ordinary onion!

ONION BUBS!

Yes, Objection's bot Onion_Bubs is going to play a part in this battle from now on. At the end of every round, one of the moves or commands used in that round will be chosen at random and Onion_Bubs will rate the move or command out of 10.
  • If the rating is between 0 and 3, that action cannot be used by any pokemon for the rest of the battle.
  • If the rating is between 7 and 10, that action will always be usable by all pokemon despite any effects that might disallow it such as Disable, Taunt or lack of a water source (although the action is still not guaranteed to work).
  • A rating of 4 to 6 has no effect.
Moves that are more frequently used in the round are more likely to be picked, but each move will only ever be picked once, no matter what rating it is given. Finally, Onion_Bubs cannot be destroyed except on the ref's whim. If he is destroyed, then any effect his ratings had on the battle immediately ends too.

And once again, Bane continues to attack with Bubbles while Quartz throws another Bonemerang at him. Then Bane Bounces into the air just before Quartz Digs underground. The Magikarp crash-lands on the ground where Quartz dug, only to be struck from below by the Cubone! The force of the blow knocks Bane back into the fountain, where he blows more Bubbles and gets hit by another Bonemerang. He's barely holding on.

Oh, but it looks like Onion_Bubs has something to say!

Bane tries to Dodge Quartz's next attack, but this time the Magikarp fails its Reflex save and is knocked out by the Cubone's ThunderPunch. Wait, really? A ThunderPunch? Well ... that was overkill.

Meh, I'm getting bored of Starlight Garden. I like Onion_Bubs though. Speaking of which, what does he have to say about the battle?

New arena

Sushi-Go-Round

The arena is now inside a sparsely-furnished room. There are no rocks, there is no grass and there is no water. Because it is inside, weather-inducing moves and abilities and SolarBeam cannot be used.

The pokemon are surrounded by a circular table, upon which are several plates of sushi. A pokemon may Eat Sushi for 5 energy unless it is taunted or there is some other effect that prevents it from doing so. The effect of eating sushi is chosen at random from the following effects, with each one having an equal chance of being chosen:
  1. Restores 20 HP.
  2. Restores 20 energy.
  3. Increases the BAP of the pokemon's direct damaging moves by 3 for 6 actions. This effect does not stack, but it does refresh if the same sushi is eaten again.
  4. Increases the pokemon's speed by 2 stages.
  5. Poisons the pokemon. This does not affect Poison-type or Steel-type pokemon, even corroded Steel-type pokemon.
  6. Increases the energy cost of the pokemon's actions by 4 for 6 actions. Combos have their energy cost increased by 8. This effect does not stack, but it does refresh if the same sushi is eaten again.
  7. Makes the pokemon sluggish on its next action as though it had just used Hyper Beam or a similar move, and prevents a pokemon from eating sushi again on the next action.
  8. WASABI! Causes the pokemon to run around wildly, making it unable to do anything for 2 actions. This lasts only 1 action for Fire-type and Water-type pokemon.
Oh, and Onion_Bubs is still here.

King Serperior, send out a new pokemon and then give your orders first.

Well, I have my own plans. Cubone, unleash your secret WEAPON!

Onion_Bubs' ratings: Bounce (3/10), Dodge (4/10)

Ah, here comes a pokemon that might put up a better fight: Firestorm the Flarelm. He shoots an Energy Ball from one of his arm cannons and the burst of energy weakens Quartz's usually-tough skull hat. But the Cubone isn't ... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH! What is that horrible wailing? I'm gonna have to drown that Perish Song out with some Queen to save myself! But it might be too late for the pokemon. Suddenly, they both appear much more invigorated, probably because it's only a matter of time before they go down. Firestorm uses a couple of fiery attacks to try to bring Quartz down. His Lava Plume attack is fairly strong, but not strong enough to prevent the Cubone's Aerial Ace from connecting. But with his Flamethrower attack, he finally finds the hole in Quartz's defences and that's enough to prevent him from attacking any more.

So, Onion_Bubs, what are your thoughts on that?

<~Onion_Bubs> I give Lava Plume a 5 out of 10 right now.

Not bad at all. But I think this arena's missing something.

Lickitung

As long as the arena is Sushi-Go-Round, this Lickitung will be present. At the end of each action, if no other pokemon eat any sushi, Lickitung will eat some. He is as undiscerning as the other pokemon and the sushi he eats will be randomly chosen from the ones mentioned in the Sushi-Go-Round arena description. The first 6 kinds of sushi will not affect him in any way that matters. The 7th kind will make him feel full and prevent him from eating again on the next action. Wasabi, on the other hand, will make him run around the arena wildly for the next 2 actions. During this time, not only does he not eat sushi again, but all non-seismic moves that don't completely miss have a 10% chance of hitting him instead of their intended target (even never-miss moves), while seismic moves are treated as multi-target moves.

It appears the replacement for Quartz is a Dusclops named Dominos. Firestorm and Dominos trade blows early on, with Dominos being roasted by Flamethrower and Firestorm feeling the cold fist of an Ice Punch. Dominos quickly strikes with a Shadow Sneak but this doesn't help him avoid the incoming Leech Seeds. As if those siphoning his vitality wasn't enough, Firestorm follows up by firing a draining beam at Dominos, Giga Draining the Dusclops' health before he can react with a second Ice Punch.

What did Lickitung make of that? I don't know, he was busy eating sushi the whole time. Well how about you Onion_Bubs?

<~Onion_Bubs> I give Giga Drain a 9 out of 10 right now.

Onion_Bubs approves of Giga Drain! That move will now be usable under all circumstances.

Hmm, let's try this!

If HP falls below 20 before A3, use Pain Split on that action.

Firestorm? More like Petalstorm! Yes, Firestorm has brought out the big guns with his Petal Dance manoeuvre, but Dominos is just Chilling. What gives? Even when the second Petal Dance strikes a weak spot, Dominos continues to Chill. It's not until the third Petal Dance also strikes a weak spot that something happens. Using all the energy he regained and then some, Dominos shares his pain with Firestorm by way of Pain Split. And then it happens. The horrible song that Firestorm had to listen to earlier has finally taken its toll on him and he drops. And then something else happens. Lickitung, who was happily eating sushi, appears to have swallowed some wasabi! He's running around like a headless chicken! Onion_Bubs, help me out here!

<~Onion_Bubs> I give Chill a 6 out of 10 right now.
