[OVERVIEW]

  • Good for gaining momentum with Volt Switch
  • Useful for crippling physically attacking foes
  • Helpful with removing threatening Flying-, Water-, Rock-, Ground-, and Fire-types
  • Levitate allows it to be immune to Ground-type moves, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and the rare Electroweb; Levitate doesn't block Stealth Rock damage, damage can slowly wear it down
  • Good bulk that allows it to live a lot of hits; it can be used as a switch-in
  • bulky, all priority moves are neutral or Rotom-W resists it

  • All access to recovery is unreliable (Pain Split, Rest) or weak (Parabolic Charge)
  • Priority moves it has access too are physical, making it harder to take out faster attackers
  • Only coverage for Grass-types (its only weakness) is HP Fire / Ice / Poison / Flying / Bug, which lowers its EVs and makes it less reliable offensively and defensively (Signal Beam is available too but is a bit weak and is generally bad)

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

  • Will-O-Wisp lets Rotom-W cripple physical attackers (Mega Scizor, Landorus-T, Kangaskhan, Stoutland, Tyranitar, Azumarill)
  • Volt Switch gets boosted by STAB and allows Rotom-W to gain momentum and hits Azumarill, Mega Charizard Y, Aerodactyl, Braviary, Mega Gyarados, and Gyarados for super effective damage
  • Scald is also boosted by STAB and hits Landorus-T, Tyranitar, Mega Charizard Y, Heatran, Aerodactyl, Mega Tyranitar, and Talonflame for super effective damage
  • Pain Split allows Rotom-W to regain HP along with Leftovers, but it's hard to use due to the fact that you can't tell if the foe's HP is higher or lower than Rotom-W's, making it risky
  • Rest allows Room-W to fully recover its health and cure any possible status ailments; it should primarily be used with Chesto Berry, however.

Set Details
========

  • Leftovers gives Rotom-W a form of passive recovery, but it shouldn't be used when you're using Rest over Pain Split
  • Chesto Berry should be used when Rest is being used because it lets Rotom-W wake up immediately after using Rest for the first time (if it isnt knocked off beforehand)
  • Levitate provides Rotom-W with an immunity to Ground-type moves, making it a counter to Pokemon that use Ground-type moves for STAB or coverage such as Landorus-T and Tyranitar
  • 60 SpA EVs allow Rotom-W to 2HKO Landorus-T, Mega Tyranitar, and Tyranitar [when the sandstorm has dissipated] (even after Leftovers if they have Leftovers)
  • 248 EVs in HP and 200 EVs in SpD with a Calm nature let Rotom-W live a Knock Off from Tyranitar
