Seriously, this is pretty ridiculous.
next time anyone sees HFB, please have him update...
Game has been cancelled, in light of all the mess-ups that occured. Sorry everybody. I shall have all the Pms posted soon, so as to make a makeshift postgame.
Sorry for double post.
Person: rey was perfect for the role, due to his experience(alogn with a ripe opportunity for puns about "reyscarface" and "Rayquaza"...). The mafias really needed a good player for planning purposes, and rey was the man for the job.
Person: Class requested to be subbed out, so I gave Aura Guardian the role, since mysteriously, he wasn't placed on the list during signups. AG played really well, smartly pretending to be NPC, until Coronis got the better of him and made him post.
Stormy Kings

Majority of the people on this team were assigned randomly, or were seasoned players. They didn't do too much of note, since von was leading, so I shall just paste their PMs here.

Role: Rayquaza gets the award for the longest role PM. To nerf the mafia, I made him the sole Inspector and Safeguard for both teams, in order to force him into deciding what to do. I also added a few one-timers. Outrage released Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos onto predefined people. If they were united, they would kill the person who united them and then return to their previous holders. This was part of the chaos-inducing things in the game.Toad said:Dear Mario,

You are a green serpentine dragon, who is above Kyogre and Groudon. You have united them under your rule for the purpose of mounting a combined offense against those 4 nutters, Golduck,Tyranitar, Hippowdon and Abomasnow, who failed to listen to you and decided to strike off on their own at the annual meeting of Weather-inducers and cancellers. Well, you'll show them who's the boss here! You have a lot of versatility(that's why you're UBER, unlike those twats). However, the armies of Groudon and Krogre, the Solar Warriors and Stormy Kings, will cease to work together with your death(since they are dumb, unlike you, the genius). You know that Groudon is Luigi, and Kyogre is Princess Peach, and you also know that they know you.
At night, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Extremespeed miss <alias>". You will use your powerful Extremespeed to swish past <alias>, and will receive his full role PM at dawn.
Alternatively, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Set up minor Air Lock zone around <user>". You will set up an Air Lock zone all around <alias>, protecting him from all night actions except kills, since killers can negotiate your small Air Locks. This cannot be stacked with another ability.
You have an extremely powerful Draco Meteor, which you have preserved carefully for an opportune moment. The first time you are targeted by a kill at night, you will fire off the Draco Meteor to defend yourself, and the kill will fail. However, due to the massive Special Attack drop, this will not work again after that. You will be notified when this happens.
Once in the game, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Expand Air lock zone around allies". You will extend your own personal Air Lock around all of your allies, protecting them from all night actions during the night. Unfortunately, your Air Lock is so strong, they will not be able to do anything at all for that night. This cannot be stacked with another ability, and is one-use.
Once in the game, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Using Outrage". You aren't sure what this will do, since every time you try to use Outrage, you go berserk.
Since you are the mighty Rayquaza, your vote counts for double during the day.
You are holding the Green Orb. at night, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Breaking Green Orb around <team name>". You will break the Green Orb around <team>, and they will be protected from all attempts on their life for the night. However, in the ensuing dust, they will not be able to pull off their night actions. This item is one-use only.
You also know that Aerodactyl is not in the game(since you disposed of him on your way here). Use that information as you will.
You win if you survive longer than Golduck, and at least one of the Solar Warriors and Stormy Kings win.

You are the legendary beast of the land, and you had a titanic war with Kyogre, which resulted in you going to a deep slumber, waking each year once only for the annual Weather-inducer and canceller conference. While bringing your army, you came across Latias, who you helped out of a tough spot. She has agreed to help you out once. Once in the game, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Blow on Stygian whistle". You will blow on the whistle that Latias gave you, which shatters it, and she will come up and help you. How she'll help you exactly, is something you don't know, since she never told you. This cannot be stacked with your other ability, and can only be used after Night 3.
Since you are the land titan Groudon, your vote will count as two during the day.
You are holding the Heat Rock. You have gazed into its depths, and have found Deoxys in it. Deoxys has agreed to assist you. While holding the Heat Rock, your night action cannot be blocked by a hooker.

You are one of the greatest Sandstorm stallers in UU. You are also one of the most annoying Pokemon in a Sandstorm, due to the Special Defense boost you obtain. When Tyranitar and Hippowdon rebelled, you joined them, as they provide to you a great boost you are grateful for. You have decided to use your great defenses to support the other members of his army, and you have set up a ton of stat boosts to maximize your power.
At night, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Seed Bomb <alias>". You will fire off your powerful Seed Bomb at <alias>, and in anger, they will heal themselves and engage in a stall war with you for the whole night, and will thus instead target you.
Alternatively, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Stand in for <alias>". You will take up position in front of <alias>, and absorb all night actions targeted towards <alias>, redirecting themselves to yourself. This cannot be stacked with your other ability.
You have set up 6 Curses, and have the Special Defense boost from Sandstorm. Therefore, the first time a killer targets you, you will just shrug it off with no damage done.
You are holding the Substitute. While holding the Substitute, night actions have a 30% chance to miss you and not work.
You are allied with the Sand Cannons. You win if the Sand Cannons eliminate all unfriendly threats.

At night, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Fire Blast <alias>". <alias> will suffer from bad burns, and will be unable to post in the thread for the whole of the next day. You may not Fire Blast the same person twice, since you wish to cause as much damage as possible, and leave the cleanup work to somebody else. If <alias> posts in the thread the next day, he/she will be godkilled.
Alternatively, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Earth Power flare <alias>" You will use Earth Power beneath <alias>' home, and with the resultant power, bounce all items that <alias> possesses on flare-ups, and will obtain them at the end of the night. This cannot be stacked with your other ability.
Once in the game, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Taunt ghosts of <alias>". You will taunt the ghost of <alias>, making them reanimate their body, effectively resurrecting them. However, the resurrection will take place with the same alias being reanimated, and it will be announced in the thread. This is one-time use only, and cannot be stacked with another ability.
You are holding the Focus Sash. With this, you will be able to survive a lynch attempt once. This item is one-use only.

Person: j-squared was a rather new person, so I decided to give him a fairly basic role so that he could be guided by his teammates. Once in the game, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Change history of <alias>".You will go back in time and change <alias>'s life, so as to make him a member of your faction. This can only be done once, since you are bound to obey Arceus' orders to avoid interference with history. Also, you may only use this after Rayquaza and 2 of your members are dead.
Once in the game, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying Night X- Using Outrage". You aren't sure what this does, but know that doing so is beneficial.
You are holding the Adamant Orb. While holding this item, you are immune to being hooked.

Unfortunately, you ate them along the way, so you can't provide your team freshly baked ones, bur you can assist them in other ways.
At night, you may PM Toad, Hamer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Shutting <alias> in oven". You will trap <alias> in your oven, making their actions, and any targeting them to fail. You will only let <alias> out of the oven at the start of the next night, since you'll need some time to cool yourself off. You might not target the same person twice in a row, since for one night, they will know how to dodge you. The only hope they have is a radio transmitter, which can be used to send out one message, which will be published by the host as soon as he sees it.
Alternatively, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Leaving oven temporarily". You will leave your oven and stay in the walls of your house for the night, making all night actions targeting you to fail. People targeting you will be told that you are an NPC.
You are holding the Lunar Gem. At night, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Cracking Lunar Gem". You will break the Lunar Gem, causing it to be Night again. However, this can only be done starting Night 4.

You will threaten to use your signature attack on <user1> if he does not vote for <user2>, and will force him to do so. If <user1> does not comply, he will be godkilled by your Spacial Rend. However, this consumes a lot of energy, and thus, you will not be able to do anything that night.
Alternatively, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Yank threads of space around <alias>". You will freeze <alias>, and will deliver to him a message(which will seem anonymous), which should be written in the body of the PM. This can be stacked with your other ability.
Once in the game, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Blackmail <alias>". You will blackmail <alias> into joing your faction. This ability is one-use, and can only be used after Rayquaza and 2 of your members are dead.
Once in the game, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Outrage". You aren't sure what this does though.
You are holding the Lustrous Orb. This item makes you immune to being kidnapped.

At night, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Locking <alias> in washing machine". You will trap <alias> in your washing machine, preventing them from succeeding in their night action, and stopping them from posting in the thread the next day. This cannot be done to the same person twice consecutively, since they will know how to avoid you. Also, they will be able to broadcast one message in the thread, using their radio.
Alternatively, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Hiding in walls of house". You will hide in the walls of your house, and all people visiting you that night will be told that you are an NPC. This cannot be stacked with your other night action.
You are holding the Lunar Gem. At night, you may PM Toad, Hammer Bro., and Chain Chomp saying "Night X- Cracking Lunar Gem". You will make it night once more at the end of the night. This item is one-use, and can only be used after Night 3.

So, I talked with vonFiedler and Aura_Guardian on IRC, and this game was horribly, horribly broken.
Apparently EACH mafia had a silencer, persuader, kidnapper, and a hooker. Not only that, bu there was at least, one mole. Maybe the Stormy Kings had another, I don't know. We (The Frosty Five. I'm not sure what the Sand Cannons were doing) discovered that von was a mole at the beginning of d3. I don't think you can ask for much better than that, and by that time, he had done everything he needed to win the game. Oh right, all he needed to do was find 2 village mayors to persuade, then the mafia would have majority. To be honest, they probably should have just kept Golduck alive and hooked/kidnapped iss, stopping all possible kills, and they could just lynch off villagers. That, along with Aura_Guardian's "make this action, probably a kill, unstoppable" thing made the game all but impossible to win. I'm not even sure what the Stormy Kings other powers were, but this alone is enough to give the mafia a win by d1-2, unless the village lynches the mole by then. Sure, the village had a recruit, and the Frosty Five had a recruiter, but guess what? The mafia had two hookers and two kidnappers, more or less letting them endlessly hook FOUR PEOPLE PER NIGHT.

Most of the Sand Cannon stuff came from MagicMaster87, who gave me a copy of the Sand Cannon spreadsheet, which honestly was a good move for his team. One little question. Why did the hosts think they needed to severely gimp Fangren's theif ability. Did you think the Frosty Five was a broken faction or something? I mean, with a game with this many broken/powerful items, it seems like every faction should have a normal thief.

One thing you're not taking into account Upside is that Golduck could redirect lynches up to 3 times. It was honestly pure luck that we got a Frosty Five with one of them.

I realized early on that writing a role PM was pretty useless: under the restrictions it would impose on me (having to conform to village leader etc) and having to prove it would probably land me under suspicion at the least, and probably get me lynched/ killed.
So, at Day III I decided to come out in the open, revealing my role etc, while getting the village to work for me in return for the fastest priority of whatever ability they wanted. While not revealing my alias so they couldn't lynch/ kill me, without more information.
Also, I decided to randomly target Yoshi so I could get my hands on an item the second night and got this:

@Upside: It was based on my prediction that the mafias would stock their items onto Rayquaza. The Stormy Kings did that. If Fangren hit him, he would be likely giving away his weaker item for a bunch of overpowered stuff the mafia had. Also, I haev not revealed all yet. There were a couple of important things on the village which were meant to stop the scenario you mentioned.

When we assigned roles to players, we took a look at the player list and decided to spread the good players around. Reyscarface was Raquaza (which became interesting to see how he would be leading the mafia and he did well) Lightwolf was Kyogre, which gave him a chance to be a mafia (since the previous game he played, he led pretty well) Coronis was a good player that was expected to lead, but with Von Fiedler taking the helm, the game was in the mafia hands. Frosty Five were catching on, but it was a little too late before the damage was done.
Edit: also, all village inspections were skewed. One was Paranoid (got giratina results) one was naive (got random town results) and one was insane (mafia reveals town role, town reveals Giratina role).

That, followed by this...
...confuses me. I guess someone else could steal the Damp Rock, and if we're lucky we would get all the items or something? That seems unlikely considering we could only steal 1 out of 2 nights. Also, I'd like to point out that while it seems everyone had cool items, we had an LPV, a persuade and a silencer (Which we already could do), a martyr, and a something that killed anyone who targeted the target at night. Speaking of this, I also didn't even realize that the priority raiser, you know, that guy who made all the kills unstoppable, was also unhookable because of his item.
Also, unless my spreadsheet has some errors, which I don't think it does but I could be wrong, I don't see any way the village could even hope to win majority after the mafia found 2 mayors to persuade. Admittedly, I don't know what items the village, but unless some of them are kills or some other broken stuff, it doesn't really affect much. What could've made this a bit more even is if the F5/Village had another vig or something. Anyways, waiting on the other PMs.
Also, not that I've played a ton of mafia and know what I'm doing, but it doesn't seem like it's a good thing for a lynchpin to claim publically/lead, so I'm not sure what you meant by "You only got moled because Golduck didn't lead"
agreeing with upside on the thing about lynchpins not leading, it seems like a pretty dumb thing to do if you have competent opposition (as we did).
