DID YOU KNOW: When two non-immune Pokemon are facing off in sandstorm/hail, the one who takes passive weather damage before is the faster Pokemon. This can be a nifty trick to figure out your opponent's speed investment (when it's not obvious) or plan out your next move.

If both Pokemon on the field have the ability shadow tag, neither are effected by it. While not as useful after ghost's buff, it allows Pokemon like gothitelle to escape from mega gar.

Extreme Speed has 2+ priority. This makes it go before moves with +1 priority, such as Bullet Punch, Quick Attack, or Aqua Jet, even if your Pokemon is slower.

Articuno is the only Pokemon that can have a 100% accurate One-Hit KO move?(With the combination of Mind Reader(The next move made by the user of this move will not miss.) and Sheer Cold)

Take advantage of Team Preview! It's the best chance you get to start forming your game plan - you can tell what Pokemon will likely be pivotal on your team, what your opponent has that threatens you, and what needs to be eliminated for you to enable your endgame. You can even deduce their sets by what's on the team!

We might just use these tips for twitter instead, since they're pretty short! I just tweeted Mack the Knife's post! Soul Fly and Arcticblast had some good ones as well ^_^

Make a plan before you Mega Evolve. Know that you do not get you true speed until next turn so that means Mega Heracross has the same speed as Normal Heracross which is faster and also keep in mind that if you stay in your normal form and not evolve right away you might accomplish more (Like with Kanga you have Scrappy so you can hit ghost types and set up on them with Power-Up Punch/Kill them and then evolve)!

Sometimes it's best not to blindly send a particular lead out in every match. (Especially, in this case, the sand setters) If there's a Pokemon you know will have Intimidate in Team Preview, it can sometimes be better to send a special attacker out so you're not at a great disadvantage from the get-go

If you're going to hop into a new tier (such as LC, Ubers, or an Other Metagame) it's not a bad idea to look at the appropriate subforum/topic on Smogon to see the biggest threats in that tier, so that you can see them coming whenever you try to battle on the ladder for the first time.

In 2v2 metagames, Wide Guard protects your Pokemon from spread moves such as surf and Rock Slide, while Quick Guard protects your Pokemon from Priority Moves such as as Fake Out and even Brave Bird from Talonflame.

Several abilities, including Mold Breaker, Unnerve, and Pressure, give notifications when a Pokemon in possession of that ability is sent out (for example, "Excadrill breaks the mold!"). Pay attention to these notifications and use them to help you guess what the opponent is going to do.

In Little Cup, a base stat ending in 5 will need 76 EVs to get 1 stat, and 236 EVs to get all 3 stats. A base stat ending in 0 will need 36 EVs to get 1 stat, and 196 EVs to get all 3. A rule of thumb is that for every additional base stat, you need 8 less EVs to get the desired stat number.

Sorry if this trainer tip is not clear. I'll change the wording if I need to.

Did you know that the most common move in the Doubles and VGC metagames is Protect? It has multiple uses: keeping one of your Pokemon safe whilst your other Pokemon attacks or uses a set up move like Tailwind and Trick Room, avoiding being double-targeted, stalling out turns of moves like Tailwind, and more. If you want to learn them all, then try out the Doubles and VGC metagames!

If the opponent doesn't have a target when using the move rapid spin, your hazards will stay on the field. This means that if you can let one of your pokemon die to indirect damage (such as stealth rock, spikes, life orb or recoil) or even if rapid spin KOs your pokemon, you can continue to pressure your opponent with hazards on the field.

    ^on the same note

If your opponent dies from recoil (such as Rocky Helmet) while using Rapid Spin, it does not remove hazards from the field.

Also @ the above, if rs KOs a poke it still removes hazards...

Substitute Spammers like Gliscor annoy your team? No worries with the new XY Mechanics any Sound Based move, or the ability: Infiltrator will bypass substitutes and deal damage directly to the target. Go grab your Mega Gardevoirs and Crobats now!

DID YOU KNOW? Knock Off cannot remove a Griseous Orb from Giratina, nor can it remove a Plate from Arceus or a Mega Stone on its respective wielder. This means that Knock Off will not gain the 50% boost it normally gets from removing an item from a foe. Switch them in on Knock Off users to protect your items!

Did you forget a Pokémon's stats in the middle of the battle? Not sure whether you outspeed your opponent's sweeper? Right in the middle of battle, you can pull up a quick stats check with the "/data <pokemon>" command! (Don't ask me how long it took until I realized I could do this...)

Pokemon with the ability Magic Guard take no indirect damage. That includes damaging effects from weather such as Sandstorm and Hail, status such as Poison, Burn and Leech Seed, recoil from moves such as Double-Edge, and even recoil from items such as Life Orb! However, Pokemon with Magic Guard are still affected by Burn's Attack drop, Paralysis's Speed drop and full paralysis chance, self-damage from Confusion, and KO effects from Perish Song and Destiny bond!
