[OVERVIEW]

Sudowoodo is directly outclassed by Golem due to its lack of a Ground STAB type and its lower Speed, as well as by Probopass, which can gain momentum with Volt Switch but lacks priority on Stealth Rock. Wood Hammer is an extremely small niche over Golem that allows Sudowoodo to hit Ground- and Water-types super effectively. Sudowoodo has very low Special Defense and Speed, which leaves it vulnerable to special attackers such as Floatzel and Simipour. However, Sturdy paired with Sudowoodo's large Defense almost guarantees Stealth Rock will be set up.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Stealth Rock can wear down opposing Pokemon by getting residual damage against them as they switch in, as well as break Focus Sashes and Sturdy. Stone Edge is Sudowoodo's strongest move and gains a STAB boost, but it has shaky accuracy. Wood Hammer allows Sudowoodo to take on Ground-, Water-, and opposing Rock-types, such as Stunfisk, Carracosta, and Golem, and is a small niche over other Stealth Rock users. Sucker Punch is a solid priority move that can help pick off weakened foes. Toxic can be used over Sucker Punch to lure in and cripple walls such as Tangela and Gourgeist-XL.

Set Details
========

Full Attack and Speed investment with a Jolly nature maximize Sudowoodo's power and speed. Sturdy allows Sudowoodo to survive any one hit, making sure that Stealth Rock will be set up. Sturdy also pairs well with Custap Berry, which will activate when Sudowoodo gets taken down to low health, allowing it to move before opposing Pokemon for a turn and hit faster entry hazard removers such as Swanna before they can remove Stealth Rock.

Usage Tips
========

Setting up Stealth Rock is Sudowoodo's main priority, but it can still attack a foe if it has the opportunity. Alternatively, Sudowoodo can focus on spreading Toxic to weaken down opposing walls. Due to Sudowoodo's natural physical bulk, it can be brought into physical attackers such as Dodrio and Mightyena. Sudowoodo should be utilized early-game to set up Stealth Rock so it can weaken foes and break Focus Sash and Sturdy.

Team Options
========

Sudowoodo fits on offensive teams, as it can take the role of a lead with Stealth Rock. Pokemon that can switch into Water-, Grass-, and Ground-types, such as Gourgeist-XL, Roselia, and Tangela, synergize well with Sudowoodo. Roselia can also set up entry hazards of its own, forming a hazard-stacking core with Sudowoodo. Sweepers that appreciate entry hazards, such as Articuno, Ninetales, and Fraxure, are solid partners for Sudowoodo, as are cleaners such as Floatzel and Mightyena.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Sudowoodo has access to Taunt; however, it's too slow to put it to good use. Earthquake is another option for Sudowoodo, to take on opposing Rock- and Steel-types, but it doesn't have the moveslot for it. Low Kick or Hammer Arm can be used to hit Probopass, but it faces the same problem as Earthquake. With Sturdy, Sudowoodo can use Counter to surprise physical attackers; however, most of the time it isn't worth a moveslot. Sudowoodo could take the role of a sun setter, although it's outclassed by Onix and Golem, which can do the same role better. Leftovers can be used for a bit of recovery per turn, although Custap Berry fits Sudowoodo's role as a lead Pokemon better. Sudowoodo can also use Explosion paired with Sturdy and a Custap Berry, but it doesn't have a moveslot for it. Lastly, Sudowoodo can use a physically defensive set to better take on Dodrio and other physical attackers, although it can take them on well enough as is.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Grass-types such as Tangela, Gourgeist-XL, and Quilladin can take any attack Sudowoodo wants to use against them and can strike back with a Grass-type attack; they have to look out for a Toxic, though.

**Fighting-types**: Machoke and Monferno can hit Sudowoodo with their Fighting-type moves and don't take much damage from Sudowoodo's attacks. Machoke can also switch into a Toxic and get a Guts boost.

**Water-types**: Carracosta, Barbaracle, Simipour, and other Water-types can outpace and hit Sudowoodo with their Water-type STAB moves, although they have to watch out for a Wood Hammer.

**Ground-types**: Ground-types such as Golem and Piloswine can hit Sudowoodo for super effective damage, but a Wood Hammer can do a lot of damage against them.

**Strong Special Attackers**: Strong special attackers such as Beheeyem can take advantage of Sudowoodo's low Special Defense with their overwhelming offensive presence.

**Residual Damage**: Due to Sudowoodo's lack of recovery outside of Leftovers, residual damage from entry hazards and status can rack up quickly and make it easier to take out.

no need to mention its large movepool in the overview, esp when wood hammer is the only relevant one in it

call it something like 'Tank'

give examples of wood hammer targets

In UT the last three lines are pretty worthless ngl. Like you dont have to say to predict, mention moves' side effects, nor when to use priority. Instead you should mention things like bringing it in on physical attackers like dodrio, and to use it early game

TO is a bit bare, you should mention more things that synergize with it type-wise. Also mention the type of team it would go on

If you don't mention Carracosta in the overview we might not need to revamp this! Say something about Probopass outclassing it or w/e (obviously not mandatory and comes with the assumption that we lose costa)

I don't quite get why lefties is the set over something like custap, especially when you've already noted its poor spdef and speed, it sounds like it has the same exact issue as lefties golem and anty said he's ok with it so I don't see why not.

Small nitpick but toxic doesnt really take on things like tangela as much as lure in and cripple

I'd mention how custap wood hammer can let it rock on removers like swanna, that's somewhat noteworthy I suppose

The set details make lefties seem even more irrelevant, how is the passive healing helping when you're relying on sturdy to set rocks?

Dodrio is more a breaker than a cleaner imo, maybe something like zebra or float since they have the speed to clean up (QA isn't that strong)

Lefties can go in OO now

Sturdy counter mention?

Every single c&c reads the same, "they can hit it with their STAB but one other thing xyz" idk maybe a little variety even if they do check/counter for the same reasons

I don't have to take this. I'm going for a walk.

If we're going this route, might as well add Explosion in OO with Custap Berry and says why Golem is still preferred. You could also mention a physically defensive spread to better check Normal-types like Dodrio, but explain why it isn't worth it. Looks good otherwise.
