1)make it so that there is a donate button so that ppl can give u back for what youve done
2)there should be an option which allows players to make their own rooms
3)the ip feature should only be availible to mods(not any user can go /ip kdrew etc)
4)there should be an option to post pictures (limited to 1 per hour unless done by mods)
5)there should be a seearch option (not commands) which gives data on pokemon

Not gonna comment on the other points, but PS! is open source, anyone can come and help with the code. I recommend joining #showdown on synirc (the PS! development channel).

I would like to see a report user option, so anyone can contact mods over spamming, trolling etc. It would be especially useful on other chatrooms where there can often be no mods online.

EDIT: Make it so you can report someone for a specific post and that would then be sent to a few moderators (not all just because only one mod is needed to mute/lock/ban someone) Just to make sure trolls can't abuse this to get people banned for no reason.

This. Specifying a reason with a screenshot or two, similar to the reasons that mods give out for banning, would make the suggestion even better.

Add a "crown" for each ladder. Start by giving it to the player ranked #1 on the ladder. If the player with the crown loses a match, the person who beat them gets the ladder crown. Obviously there is an issue with people not playing once they have the crown, so institute a minimum number of games/week that must be played to maintain the crown (I'd recommend 5). If the account doesn't meet this requirement it resets to the #1 player (or #2, if the user is #1 on the ladder).

This would be a cool feature and would give players something to play for other than getting the number 1 spot. The crown could be displayed as a symbol next to the player's user name. Also it would be cool if "crown matches" were automatically announced in the main lobby.

Obviously this is low priority, but it would be cool to have.

One thing I've noticed is that when you set a Hidden Power for a pokemon and later remove it, the IVs for the Hidden Power type still remain even though you no longer have Hidden Power. My suggestion would be to default back to 31 IVs if the pokemon does not have the move Hidden Power (unless Gyro Ball or Trick Room).

Example: I have a Bronzong and decide to give it Hidden Power Ice, the IVs I get are x/30/30/x/x/x (ignoring the fact that I want Hidden Power Ice with a speed IV of 2). Later, I decide to give it another move instead, so that I no longer have Hidden Power in my moveslot. The IVs I have are still x/30/30/x/x/x even though I don't have Hidden Power; leaving me worse off than if I had never selected it in the first place. :(

Also, mini bug report: the up and down arrows for the IVs don't work. If you use them to change the IVs and then later click on something else, say to change a move or so, when you go back to the EV/IV view you'll find that the changes never occur.

EDIT: On second thought, this might be a bad idea, since it would pretty much require all pokemon to have 31 IVs at all times - the are some cases where it might be beneficial to not have 31 IVs (custap users, reversal pokemon etc.).

I have another suggestion I'd like to make (sorry for double posting but I felt it needed a separate post, if it's inappropriate then please delete my other one :x): fix the battle timer. This is probably one of my biggest concerns with PS at the moment and the main reason why I dislike battling on PS.

One of the problems I have with the timer is that people tend to abuse it. What I mean by this is that people actually set the timer on for no apparent reason. This might not actually seem like a problem but it has a few subtle effects. First of all, it gives the opponent a psychological advantage, knowing that they have control over the timer (only the person who sets the timer can stop it). Secondly, if the opponent who sets the timer were to suddenly "disconnect" then you'd have to wait 150 seconds before you can win. Whereas if no timer was on, then you'd only have to wait 60 seconds if you hit the "Claim Victory" button. (You can't hit Claim Victory if the timer is already on, but if you set the timer yourself then you can stop it and then choose Claim Victory so you only need to wait 60s). I shouldn't have to wait an extra 90s in order to win just because my opponent was feeling particularly mean and decided to set the timer before leaving :( (it happens).

Another problem I have with the current timer is that it's more stressful playing with it than without, especially since it's written in red and appears on every turn and updates with x frequency. It's particularly annoying near the start of battle (this is where you decide on who to lead with and formulate a plan on how to win, needless to say, a key turn of battle), nothing is more annoying than getting distracted with the message:

and getting your train of thought interrupted simply because your opponent was too impatient to wait a bit on a key turn ;_;

Also, I find it misplaced and wasteful. The timer message really shouldn't appear on the battle log (it doesn't appear on the logs of replays) and it causes too much unnecessary duplication. It would be far more efficient and better to have a timer you can look at to see how much time you have remaining rather than a message that only updates at x intervals and detracts from the battle. I think that this would really help clean up and improve the quality of the user interface.

To conclude, battle timer should be set by default to prevent abuse (with the option to stop your opponents timer and give them more time), there should also be some sort of clock/timer where you can check to see how much time is available per move rather than having "spammy" messages on the battle log. Also, reduce the time per move to 60s, 150s is really too generous and causes the problems mentioned earlier, it really doesn't make sense for someone to taker longer to move than it takes for a person to reconnect. It only takes longer when you need to calc or on another key turn, in which case you could ask your opponent to stop timer for a bit... (okay maybe not, just make sure that if they do stop timer then they can't restart it immediately and try to trick you)

Sorry for the long rant, and thank you for taking the time to read this. :)

We should have pokemon available as avatars on showdown as well as the character sprites. Obviously not a big deal, but it'd be cool. Cheers! ^^

Hey, sorry for posting here again, but I have even more suggestions.

1. Having your own image as your avatar. Yes, I know what you're thinking, people will start using porn or nude pics as their avatars, but my proposal to solve that is to have a moderator or admin approve it before it is changed.
This was brought up before, and the main issue is in fact NOT explicit avatars - it's the sheer size of the load of files used as avatars. PS would be literally unusable unless we upgraded the server hardware.

2. An in-game damage calculator. It'd be better than opening a new tab. And it can teach people a LOT.
I personally wouldn't mind a link to the damage calculator in the battle window, but for people with smaller screens a calculator on the screen would probably be unusable.

3. Larger signature size in the forums. The sig size is so small. It's impossible to have a banner at all. So I'd really appreciate that.
This is another issue with the amount of data the PS server has to process, I assume. Banners are lame anyway - if it's bigger than 100 pixels or so, all it does is distract people from post content.

Suggestion: In the lobby, maybe it should not be notified to everyone that username has been muted or banned. Should bann issuers give the spammers the attention they seek?

The attention received is a part of the reason we see spammers that will go to lengths to create new accounts so spam so often. From my experience with other games I find these spammers will be driven to go to these lengths either for attention or because of a lack of consequence. Pokemon showdown makes it clear to everyone who has been banned, what their name is, and even why they have been banned. Plus, the person banning even gives a little message to the banned person sometimes, making it fun. Accounts are very easy to come by in PS, since you only need to enter in a name, it takes very little effort to spam. Chat turned registered user only is a win for a spammer.

I know there is a use to seeing who is banned/muted; it's so you don't have a bunch of mods wasting there time banning the same account over and over. It could also be used to name/shame bad users, but to spammers this creates more of a feeling of glory than anything else. So, maybe the message could be filtered out of the chat for non-ranks? This doesn't make creating accounts harder, so spam won't be nearly eliminated, but it would help wouldn't it?

Show whether the opponent switched out or not when using Pursuit. Not that big, but I like to see what my opponent would do and if my Tyranitar's Choice Scarf was revealed to the opponent or not.
Yeah, I second this, as I brought it up in the questions thread as well. It does give you information like if you out-speed or not, or if you predicted your opponent correctly, etc. This message is shown in the actual games and PO does it too.

I think a replay chat room would be a good idea. If people knew where to go, they could post replays there, and if they spammed the lobby, the mods could actually do something about it and redirect them.

You should make Showdown compatible with the Nintendo 3DS browser.
I tried once it and it didnt work it would be cool.
Just a tip ;D

I'd like seeing an NFE tier added & playable for laddering. Hopefully this is added in for the people that wanna ladder & play the NFE tier.
That isn't actually a tier - just a descriptor meaning "not fully evolved". There are side metas like Middle Cup that work like a supposed NFE tier, but they're not officially supported, so it's a challenge-only thing against other players you KNOW will be using NFE Pokemon. I suggest familiarizing yourself with Middle Cup (I'm pretty sure it's still got a thread in the OM forum) and starting a drive to make it OM of the month, which will give it a ladder on PS.

EDIT: Disregard that first sentence. I was incorrect. Regardless, push for it to be OM of the Month.

Not sure if this is the right place to put it, but using Magic Coat to reflect a Sleep Move should not activate Sleep Clause imo. The Magic Coat user is not causing sleep directly. Just a thought.

hi i just started poke showdown not too long ago and i think its run pretty well.

i wonder if its possible to have a kind of "rapid" style of game mode for both randbats and tiers where say, you only have 30s to make a move. or 30 min per side...would make for quicker and tougher games as you have to think under time pressure

User Fusxfaranto has this style of game on his server at fusx.psim.us if you want to try it out. Keep in mind that the server is not very active, so you'll probably have to ask someone to meet you there to play.
