Don't look down, folks, today's battle seems to be on a sky-high platform!
If you suffer from vertigo, cheer up! At least it's not rainin-
-THUNDER ROLL-
Ah, crap.

Before we get entirely soaked, let's take a moment to reflect on the rules.
3v3 Singles
3 Day DQ
NFE mons only
Unlimited recoveries/chills
Switch = OK
Items = Off.
All abilities.

Also, I'll turn on the floodlights so we can see the arena properly...
Arena: The Thunderstorm (potential Gym)
Field Type: Electric
Complexity: Moderate
Format: All

Restrictions: All Weather moves will fail, permanent rain, no seismic activity, no Digging, but Diving allowed, no plant-life.

Description: High above the land, there is an aerial platform, held in midair by jets. This platform is surrounded by a black thundercloud, and if it weren't for the floodlights, it would be in pitch black. This is SoS' domain. The platform is 50 feet by 50 feet in area, with each trainer at one end. It is nothing more than a metal platform, meaning moves that require a natural environment like Grass Knot will fail. The exception to this is moves that require a water source - as the cloud itself is made of water, it can be used for Surf, etc. Pokémon can even dive into it, as nonsensical as that sounds. At the end of each round, there's a 30% chance of a lightning strike, essentially a STAB Thunderbolt from rank 3 SpA. There's an even chance of it hitting each Pokémon, but it can only hit ONE target. (ie there's a 50% chance for each if there's 2, 25% if it's 4, etc.)

Summary: Anything mentioned in the Restrictions, plus potential lightning strike at the end of each round.

Right, let's meet our two competitors!
In one corner, the determined newcomer, TALKINGLION!
Team:

Elekid*[Sparkplug](M)
Nature: Naughty (+1 Atk, -1 SpD)
Type: Electric
Electric: Electric STAB; 50% reduction in paralysis chance from other electrical attacks, perfect accuracy and 30% chance of Protect breaking Thunder during Rain. Superior senses in power plant environments.

Type: Fighting
Fighting: Fighting STAB; ignore weight restrictions of throwing/grappling moves. Superior reaction time in close quarters.

Abilities:

Sand Strength (DW, LOCKED): (Innate) This Pokemon thrives in Sandstorm conditions, using the power of the swirling sand to augment its Rock, Ground, and Steel-typed attacks. All right Sumo, show that Tough Nut that you're tougher. Start out with a Sand Attack so that he won't be able to see properly. Then, toughen yourself up with a Bulk Up. Finally, hit it hard with a Cross Chop!

Round One Start!
As the round starts, both competitors release their Pokémon. Tough Nut spins nervously, worried about his type disadvantage, while Sumo cracks his knuckles ominously.
Neither Pokémon seems particularly thrilled about being disarmingly high in the air, but both seem determined to battle!

Sumo starts off the match by attempting to Attack Tough Nut with Sand, but the rain-washed metal platform is completely free of grit! That's right, folks, the move fails! Despite this, Tough Nut takes no chances and Protects himself, shielding his spiky body from nonexistent attacks!

Sumo, looking worriedly at the worsening thunderstorm, flexes his muscles, Bulking himself Up for the trials ahead. Tough Nut takes the opportunity to sprout several Seeds that Leech Sumo's life force! The Makuhita struggles to free himself, but cannot escape the entangling vines!

Tough Nut, sensing danger, Protects himself again! With a roar of exasperation, Sumo rushes across the platform, and attempts to hit the shielded Ferroseed, but the attack misses in his anger!

As the round ends, a lightning bolt strikes the far end of the platform, making both battlers recoil instinctively. That was a close call, folks, but neither Pokémon seems injured. Let the fight continue!

Round Two Start!
As the thunderstorm worsens, Sumo eyes his new foe suspiciously. The Elgyem's eyes flash, and it seems confident in his power.

With a menacing little laugh, Starman analyzes Sumo, and Plots all the Nasty ways he could abuse his type-advantage. Sumo, enraged, somersaults into a powerful Faint Attack, sending Starman skidding across the field!

Starman, clearly eager to avoid another blow, quickly Disables Sumo's Faint Attack! The Makuhita, oblivious to Starman's tricks, rushes forward and is unable to use Faint Attack! The poor fighting-type has lost his only super-effective move!

Remembering his nasty plot, Starman picks up the struggling Makuhita, and throws him into the ground with his Psychic powers. Sumo, still trying to free himself from Leech Seed, tries to use Faint Attack, but the move fails again!

As the round closes, both battlers spin away from the cloud as lightning strikes. The bolt of electricity electrifies the center of the arena, but Starman's psychic-type senses and Sumo's fighting-type reflexes keep both battlers from harm.

As the rain continues to fall, Sumo seems exhausted, but determined to go on. Across form him, Starman contemplates his next move in silence.

Tortferngatr, observant as ever, has pointed out that the Data Audit Thread has a typo.
Rank 3 is any base stat between 61-95.
Elgyem has 85 base special attack.
Starman should have Rank 3 Special Attack, not Rank 2 Special Attack.

If there are any mistakes, feel free to tell me.
Shadoo, you're up!

Thanks, that's fixed now.

Wonderful job as ever Starman. Time to clean house.

Psybeam >>> Psychic >>> Psychic
If he uses Fake Out, push actions down.

This doesn't look good for me... Sumo, Fake Out Starman to make it flinch. Then use Rock Slide. And finally, get your Revenge on it for using Psychic attacks on you.

Round Three Start!
Both battlers are now completely soaked, but seem determined to go on. As thunder rolls, the Pokémon eye one another from across the platform, awaiting their orders...

Starman begins to focus on generating his next attack, but is interrupted as Sumo skids forward with a resounding Fake Out! Starman flinches from the shock, but the attack doesn't seem to have done very much damage!

Eyes flashing, Starman calls upon his Psychic senses and launches a Psybeam at the exhausted Makuhita! Sumo winces from the attack, but still manages to struggle to his feet! He looks bewildered, folks, and seems to be trying to use Rock Slide! Unfortunately, the airborne platform remains just as devoid of rocks as ever, and the move fails!

Pressing his advantage, Starman picks up Sumo with his Psychic senses, and slams the Makuhita into the ground repeatedly! Dazed, Sumo retaliates with a powerful Revenge! However, Starman's Psychic typing allows it to absorb most of the blow!

As the round ends, lightning again fails to appear. Sumo seems exhausted, struggling to see through the pouring rain. Starman, smug as a Snivy, meditates and prepares himself for the next round.

With one foe down, Starman turns to face his next foe, a determined Elekid named Sparkplug!
Sparkplug seems to be enjoying the thunderstorm, bobbing his head in time with each thunder roll.

Suddenly, Sparkplug leaps up, drawing energy from the storm clouds, and launches a powerful Thunder Wave at the surprised Elgyem! Starman has become paralyzed! Starman drops to the ground, trying to shake off the paralyzing energy, and manages to lock eyes with Sparkplug! The Elekid howls in anger, but is also paralyzed! That's right, folks, Synchronize has activated! Leaping upright again, Starman fires off a powerful Psychic attack, slamming Sparkplug against the railing!

Sparkplug, crouching by the edge of the field, tries to calm himself with a Meditate, but cannot overcome his paralysis! Sensing an opportunity, Starman again uses Psychic forces to send the Elekid skidding!

Sparkplug, struggling to his feet, charges forward and slams the Elgyem with a powerful Punch of Thunder! The blow is too much for Starman, who is fully paralyzed!
