Round 1: The Tournament Begins!

Now then, let's get this battle started!

The battle is intense, with both pokemon staring each other down. In an instant, they're...using some of the grass on the field to make Substitutes? Good gosh people, this is a pokemon battle, not a basket weaving contest! The Pyroak seems to have made a much sturdier substitute than Dusknoir, but Dusknoir seems to be plotting something.

Pyroak, not liking Dusknoir's plotting, fires a bright red beam into the air. The beam went up into the air, and finally seemed to collide with the sun, which made a bright Sunny Day. Dusknoir puts up his own field effect of choice, Trick Room. The reversed speed will make things difficult for Pyroak, but Dusknoir's not going to like those fire boosted attacks.

Taking advantage of his field effect, Dusknoir sends a pile of boulders towards Pyroak in a Rock Slide. It does reasonable damage, but that sub is still sitting pretty. However, Pyroak charges in with a furious Flare Blitz, which hits a weak point on that Substitute and absolutely destroys it. It's a critical hit folks!

With the this turn of events, Dusknoir and Son of Shadoo are in a bit of a tight spot. Can they turn this around? Well, this battle has only just begun, so we shall see!

Round 2: Rocky Road.

Welcome back everyone! This exciting match is just getting underway, and Smashlloyd has the lead, can Son of Shadoo catch up this round? We'll have to see.

Now then, Pyroak opens up the round by putting up a bright green shield to Protect against attacks. And it's a good thing he did too, Dusknoir uses some of the rocks scattered across the field to attack him with a Rock Slide. Pyroak still has his substitute up, but took a hefty energy toll protecting against that attack.

Next up, Dusknoir fires a Confuse Ray hoping to confuse Pyroak, but it bounces off the substitute. Apparently, it figured that Pyroak wouldn't have it's substitute. This means that Pyroak gets to use Flare Blitz on him with impunity again! That's gotta hurt, as in two attacks Dusknoir is almost halfway out of health!

Dusknoir wants that Substitute gone once and for all, so he crushes it with yet another Rock slide. Pyroak Chills to preserve at least some energy, though it's not enough to fully recover the energy lost this round.

Smashlloyd just keeps digging a bigger and bigger hole for Son of Shadoo, and Shadoo's having trouble keeping up. Can he turn this around? Stay tuned for the next round!

Round 3: Imprisoned!

Welcome back folks! Last we left our challengers Son of Shadoo was forced into a tight spot, and smashlloyd had taken little damage. Let us see how the battlers will react to this predicament.

Well, Son of Shadoo certainly has a plan. In mere moments, the Dusknoir put some purple-pink bars around the Pyroak, Imprisoning some of his moves. It seems to have worked wonderfully, as Pyroak finds himself unable to take the grass to make another substitute.

Dusknoir's trickery knows no bounds, as he then sends a ray of ghostly energy to intensely confuse the Pyroak. In fact, he's so confused that he hit himself while trying to chill. Wow.

Finally, Dusknoir finishes off by trying to destroy Pyroak with another Rock Slide, while Pyroak hits himself again!

It seems that Son of Shadoo has caught up to his opponent immensely. If he can somehow drain Pyroak's energy, he should have an early lead, but Smashlloyd isn't going to take this lying down! Stay tuned for the next round.

Round 4: Disoriented

Welcome back folks! Last round Son of Shadoo had managed to dig himself out of his hole, but can he continue his luck?

Well, Dusknoir starts out with another confusing ray of ghostly energy, but I think Pyroak's developed a resistance to it, as he only got slightly confused. However, this confusion was able to still make him hit himself when he tried to use...an Aromatherapy? Man this guy must be masochistic or something. Although, this hit did snap him out of confusion.

Dusknoir wants more hax though, so he grabs some mud from the arena's moat, and slings it at Pyroak, doing reasonable damage and lowering his accuracy. Pyroak, complying with his trainer's orders, uses an Aromatherapy, while he wasn't confused. Well, that just blew up in Smashlloyd's face didn't it?

Unfortunate situations aside, Dusknoir tries to throw some more rocks at Pyroak, but the rocks go right by him! That miss must be Lady Luck's way of saying sorry for all the confusion hax. In any case, Pyroak chills out to restore some precious energy. After this, the sun goes back to it's normal state, the purple bars around Pyroak disappear, and the twisted dimensions went back to normal.

At the end of this round, we find both competitors struggling for energy and to kill their opponents. Who will drop first? Stay tuned for the next round.
