- ASB Arena
- All Abilities
- No Items
- 5 recovers/5 chills
- 2 Substitutions
- 2 Day DQ for battlers, 2/3 Day DQ for refs
- Self-KO clause; in the event of a double KO to end the match, the Pokemon that KOed itself through whatever means (self-KOing move, energy exhaustion, etc) loses.

Maxim chose Switch=KO, while Glacier chose Switch=OK. Therefore, it will be decided by coinflip.

RNG Roll [1 (Switch=OK)|2 (Switch=KO)]: 2/2 (Switch=KO)

Arena:
Arena: ASB Tournament Arena
Field Type: Neutral
Complexity: Simple
Format: All

Restrictions: No Restrictions

Description: Surrounded by thousands of screaming Pokemon fans, the ASB Arena can be best described as a standard Pokemon battling arena. In the center of the arena lies a dirt-based floor outlined to show two separate sides (with a white Pokeball center). Surrounding the dirt is a moat filled with water. The moat is about 4.5m wide and creates a perimeter around the dirt arena. The arena itself is 24m wide, 33m long. All moves, weathers, and abilities are legal for the match, since it's an outdoor arena with a large water source and packed dirt. Pokemon must stay in the arena (or the dimensions of the arena in the case of Flying Pokemon, who cannot leave the arena and cannot fly higher than 18m). This prevents Pokemon from injuring the crowd watching the tournament. There are no outside interruptions by fans, Pokemon, or other elements not associated with the current battle.

Cinccino [Aht] (F)
Nature: Adamant (Attack increased by *, Special Attack decreased by *)

Abilities:
Cute Charm: (Innate) This Pokemon’s natural cuteness causes Pokemon of the opposite gender in the same egg group to be attracted to it 30% of the time after striking with a contact move.
Technician: (Innate) This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects.
Skill Link (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon’s skillfull aim makes its multi-hit moves always hit 5 times. The Energy Cost of multi-hit attacks is increased by three (3).

Abilities:
Levitate: (Trait) This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading Ground moves like Bulldoze, Dig, Earthquake, and Magnitude. Other Ground moves can still hit. Levitate Pokemon will retain the Levitate trait when they use Skill Swap on an enemy, and will steal the opponent's ability (the user can specify if they want a foe or ally to gain Levitate from a Skill Swap.) If a Pokemon with Levitate uses Role Play, they will copy the opponent's abilities and retain Levitate.
Technician: (Innate) This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally deal 6 or below base damage to have their base damage multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) damage, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2).
Mold Breaker (DW): (Innate) Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, Volt Absorb will not absorb electric attacks, Clear Body does not prevent stat-drops, etc.)

Such power! And on the right, we have Glacier Knight, representing the Masqueraiders:

Glacier Knight:

Mamoswine(*) [Truffles] (Male)

Nature: Rash (+Spa, -Spd)

Info on Truffles: Shunned and Rejected by its faults, Truffles doesn't care what others say. He knows his true power and can now use his eccentric abilities and brute force to turn the tides of the battle into his favor. He keeps his head high and rushes into battle with a grin on his face, but still keeps his eyes keen and mind sharp. Supposedly extinct since the last ice age? Far from it.

Type:
Ice: Ice STAB; immune to freezing and Sheer Cold, no vision loss or damage in Hail or snowstorm conditions, perfectly accurate and 30% Protect breaking Blizzard in Hail. Superior senses and mobility in frozen caves and other frigid arenas.

Ground: Ground STAB; Immune to all electrical attacks, can Dig through almost any substance, Evasive Digging reduced from 3 per action Energy Cost to 2 per action, superior senses in darkened cave surroundings.

Abilities:
Oblivious: (Innate) This Pokemon is incapable of being effected by Attract or Cute Charm.
Snow Cloak: (Innate) This Pokemon is used to snowy blizzard conditions and gains a 20% evasion boost during Hail. Pokemon with this ability are immune to Hail damage.
Thick Fat (DW,Unlocked): (Innate) This Pokemon has a great deal of extra fat or muscle that increases its resistance to extreme heat or extreme cold, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire and Ice-typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.)

Dusknoir [Hazel] (Female)
Nature: Quiet (Adds One (1) Rank to Special Attack; Divides Base Speed by 1.15 and gives a flat 10 point decrease in evasion, effectively adding 10 accuracy (e.g. 85 becomes 95) on an opponent’s attacks.

Info on Hazel: Also finding herself in a state of solitude alongside Twila, Hazel yearns to get stronger. However, at the moment she is already a dastardly opponent, able to conjure up hundreds of nasty tricks, and when those are taken from her, she can use her decent offense to stop the enemy in their tracks.

Type:
Ghost: Ghost STAB; brief intangibility that nullifies Normal and Fighting-type attacks. Can move through walls for a brief period of time but must remain in motion. Superior senses in low light and inside dark buildings. Have no vision reduction in hazes.

Abilities:
Pressure: (Innate) This Pokemon’s presence fills the air with intense anxiety, and any damaging or status attack launched at this Pokemon costs the opposing Pokemon two (2) more energy to perform.

Machamp [Richter] (male)

Nature: Adamant (Adds One (1) Rank to Attack; Subtracts One (1) Rank From Special Attack)

Info on Richter: He could be different from the stereo-typcial "Beat'em up Fighting type", but Richter doesn't care. He knows he was made for Offense, so he works on perfecting that, not trying to better something he is not made for. Richter is a blunt, cut-throat pokemon who is fierce when it comes to not only winning a match but protecting his allies.

Type:
Fighting: (summary) Fighting STAB; ignore weight restrictions of throwing/grappling moves. Superior reaction time in close quarters.

Abilities:
Guts: (innate) This Pokemon is tenacious and will work ever harder when under a status condition, raising the Base Attack Power of all its physical attacks by two (2). Pokemon with Guts ignore the attack drop from burn.
No Guard: (innate) This Pokemon has an immense confidence from perfecting each of its attacks, giving them all perfect accuracy. Resultingly it feels it can weather every strike, and will not dodge an attack even if ordered to. Only when a OHKO move is issued by the opponent does sense return, and the Pokemon acts normally. Additionally even with their extra skill, the power and exhaustion involved in using OHKO moves prevents them from being benefitted by No Guard, they will have their normal accuracy.
Steadfast: (DW) (innate) If this Pokemon is flinched, it becomes aware of the speed difference and increases speed by one (1) stage to make up the difference. This speed boost is maintained at the end of each round.

Krillowatt [Reginald] (male)
Nature: Modest (Adds One (1) Rank to Special Attack; Subtracts One (1) Rank From Attack)

Info on Reginald: Reginald doesn't brag or boast about his power, but everyone knows his true abilities. An amazing counterer, he can take damage and dish it out two fold, and quickly find the cracks in the opponent's armor, which afterwards he uses his wide array of moves to crush them. He is quite capable, and has a bright future.

Type:
Water: Water STAB; Can breathe and have excellent mobility when underwater, are less capable on land unless they are entirely amphibious.
Electric: Electric STAB; 50% reduction in paralysis chance from other electrical attacks, perfect accuracy and 30% chance of Protect breaking Thunder during Rain. Superior senses in power plant environments.

Abilities:
Trace: (Can be Activated) This Pokemon can copy an ability of the opponent and replace Trace for six (6) actions. Wonder Guard cannot be Traced.
Magic Guard: (Innate) This Pokemon is infused with a powerful psycho-electric energy that makes it immune to damage from Hail, Sandstorm, and damage from Leech Seed, Poisoning, and Burn. It can still attack itself in confusion, but will not absorb any damage from it.
Shed Skin (DW Ability is now Unlocked): (Innate) This Pokemon regularly sheds its skin and any impurities contained in its body. If afflicted with a status condition, this Pokemon has a 33% chance of removing all status conditions at the end of a round.

Xatu(*) [Twila] (Female)

Nature: Quiet (+1 SpA, -15% Speed, -10% Evasion)

Info on Twila: A somber period of being unused turned Twila cold, and she vowed to become stronger and more of an asset. Training solo she now has returned, and is proving to be quite a force to be reckoned with. Her hidden Abilities shine bright, and her Support is bare none the best on the team. And she still yearns for more power......
Type:
Psychic: Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic attacks regardless of weight difference. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.

Flying: Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks outside extremely odd circumstances even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

Abilities:
Synchronize: (Innate) Pokemon with this ability mentally link their condition to an opposing Pokemon and pass on any status inflicted on them to their foe. Due to their body structure, Poison types cannot be poisoned and Fire types cannot be burned in this manner.
Early Bird: (Innate) This Pokemon is used to waking up at early hours or operating in low-light conditions and subsequently suffers from sleep status for only half as much time as other Pokemon.
Magic Bounce (DW Unlocked): (Innate) This Pokemon has a Psychic sense that allows it to ward off non-damaging attacks as soon as they are launched, directing them back at the opponent.

Again, what strong pokemon! It's hard to see who has the advantage as of right now. So here's how this works: both Maxim and Glacier Knight are right here with me, and will hand me a slip of paper that tells me the three Pokemon they are going to start with (PM me your choices~). Then, they'll send them out simultaneously, and I'll flip a coin to determine who goes first.

Good luck to each of you. Let the battle begin!

I see, so that's the Pokemon each challenger is choosing. Interesting... Both challengers have just put their three choices in the center of the arena, and the Pokeballs are set to open any time now. Ah, there! There, they're opening now!

RNG Roll [1 (Maxim)|2 (Glacier Knight)]: 1/2 (Maxim)

So be it! Maxim, you're up!

Maxim stepped into the arena to cheers of pokemon fans. Now was the time, and he had to make to most of it, for the fans.

When Glacier Knight sent out his pokemon, Maxim was somewhat worried, but undeterred.

"Alright guys, this is it, the moment of truth. Guys, initiate Plan Alpha!"

"Of course" They all replied.

Nora (Volcarona): Safeguard~Heat Wave
If You are targeted with Encore A1, use Heat Wave that action instead.
If you are somehow unable to use Safeguard, replace that action with Sunny Day

Diagnos (Arghonaut): Taunt (Machamp)~Earthquake
If you are Taunted, and you are about to use Taunt, use Earthquake.
If Taunt does not hit Machamp, use it again on Machamp A2

Origin (Stratagem)~Earth Power (Krillowatt)~Heat Wave
If Krillowatt uses Mirror Coat, disable it next action
If Krillowatt uses Counter, disable it next action

Note, if any Substitutions conflict, the one listed first gets priority

EDIT: Also, Theme Music :D

The waiting room is dimly lit, and the only objects in the musty quarters that bring me slight ease are my teammates. "Guys, i'm about to go on." I have a lump in my throat, and i stammer just a tad. "I'm a little nervous to be honest. I don't want to let you guys down."

Gerard gives me a smile and shakes his head. "You'll do fine, i know it! Just get out there and do your best." My other partner, LS, nods in agreement, and squeezes my hand to help simmer down my nerves. "Just focus on what matters, don't get distracted by the petty things." Her smile, alongside Gerard's give me comfort, and i manage to crack a grin while saying, "Yeah, ya'll are right. Maxim and i are equally matched, i can steal a win!"

I go in for a team cheer, but suddenly the speaker blares. A dusty voice, bored and unamused, echoes through the room, calling "Glacier Knight to Arena 2G please. Your match will begin in 2 Minutes." I suddenly tense up, but i feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn and see my comrades, slowly pushing me forward. "You got this Ghetto Knight, beat that kid." Lady Salamence whispers teasingly, and Gerard chuckles. With a determined nod, i leave the room, entering the dark catacombs of the Arena complex.

As soon as the sun shines into my face, i am blinded, and a roar of voices erupt from all angles. i am blasted with sights and sounds, and i stagger into the center of the arena. I see two characters, my opponent Maxim, and my Referee, EM. The latter i notice has blood shot eyes, red as a patrat. He notices my staring, and gives an odd giggle and whispers, "Don't tell! but i'm hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh ;)". He winks, then happily skips to his referee post. I then turn to my opponent. Maxim's face is stoic and determined, but i can catch a slight case of nerves emitting from him. Or is it just my nerves making myself believe so? i stop hyping myself up and firmly shake his hand. He is shocked at the notion, but nods in comply and says good luck. we turn away and head to our corners.

Our Pokemon Release. I must be psyching myself out, because his pokemon seem much more intimidating than others of the same species. But when i see pumped Richter, relaxed Twila, and giddy Reginald, my confidence rises. I have known these pokemon for years and years. i have faith in their abilities. I inhale deeply, then begin the ever so complicated task of commanding my army.

Twila,
Confuse Ray Arghonaut~Light Screen
If Machamp is successfully taunted a1, then Psychic Arghonaut a2

Richter,
Encore Volcarona~Wide Guard
If Machamp is successfully taunted a1, then Stone Egde Volcarona a2

Reginald,
Imprison Volcarona (Safeguard/Protect/Substitute)~Muddy Water (Arghonaut/Stratagem/Volcarona)

I suck in a deep breath, but i am confident. as the battle begins i explain my logic and reason out loud.

"So, here's how i see things. Richter needs to keep wide guard, for at least a2. Now, he can't Wide Guard if Argo is taunting him. solution? stop argo from taunting. the only way to do so though is quite risky, and complicated. However, it will work, just as long as he hits himself in confusion. Confused? don't be, i'll explain. Xatu will use confuse ray on arghonaut, which means there's a 50/50 chance argo will hurt himself. But, Volcarona is using safeguard. Well, not anymore. see, i found a loophole. Reginald will use imprison to seal Safeguard (as well as protect and substitute). Since Volcarona is unable to use safeguard, she will go for sunny day. HOWEVER Richter will be using encore on volcarona a1. Her first substitution says if targeted by encore, then use heat wave. This creates complications with Volcarona's Substitutions. Maxim said however if the subs conflict, the first substitution gets priority. therefore, Volcarona will Heat Wave instead of using sunny day. this leaves Arghonaut open to being confused. Twila will use confuse ray, and since she is faster than arghonaut, he has a 50/50 chance of hitting himself in confusion. If my plans works perfectly, he will hit himself, and machamp can protect his team from the oncoming heat waves, while Reginald can hit the enemies hard and Twila can set-up. However, if Maxim is lucky and Arghonaut's taunt works, then i will be set back. Not too far though, i think."

Yes, this is risky, but very well thought. I breath in and out very carefully and see the battle unravel. what will happen? Will i be successful? or will i fail? The first round is crucial, and will decide who will be the victor in this soon to be long and strenuous battle. I put some Battle Music of my own on, and the fight begins!

GL Maxim!

Risky indeed Glacier. We've seen your vision of the round, but now we'll see exactly what happens....

Things immediately start off sour for Glacier, with Stratagem pummeling Krillowatt with a strong Earth Power that manages to score a critical hit! Krillowatt picks itself up and starts to carry out Glacier's plan by using Imprison to seal off several of Volcarona's moves. Volcarona, sensing an Encore coming from Machamp, launches a Heat Wave to batter Glacier's entire team. It seems that luck not on Glacier's side, as the wave manages to critically hit both Krillowatt and Xatu! Xatu does not like this, but proceeds with Glacier's plan and uses Confuse Ray on Arghonaut. This unfortunately doesn't work, as Arghonaut manages to shake through the confusion and Taunt Machamp by giving him the middle...tentacle?, preventing it from using Encore (and that crucial Wide Guard Glacier was planning!)

Glacier's plan just falls apart from here, as Stratagem follows up with a second Heat Wave, again scoring a crit on Xatu. Krillowatt is the first to shake off the heat, and retaliates by sending a burst of Muddy Water at Maxim's side of the field. The attack manages to hit all of its targets, but its effect fails to kick in. Poor Glacier :(. Volcarona then sends yet another Heat Wave across the field, damaging all of Glacier's Pokemon even further. Xatu, pissed off at this point, violently hurls Arghonaut with its Psychic powers, dealing quite a bit of damage to the heavy squid-pirate. Arghonaut, getting back up, shakes the entire arena with an Earthquake. Both Stratagem and Volcarona seem prepared for this and float up in to the air to avoid it, as does Xatu. Krillowatt and Machamp aren't so lucky however, and both take the force of the hit. It looks like Glacier is getting raped by Lady Luck even more though, as the move scores a crit on Machamp. Machamp then picks up some of the rubble and hurls it at Volcarona, which deals an impressive amount of damage to the moth. However, it's not enough to turn the tides of the battle. Glacier is clearly at a disadvantage right now. Can he pull things around, or has the RNG set him back too far to catch up?

OK, I'm only human. Time to nitpick my mistakes??? Sorry if the calcs are hard to read or something
And sorry Glacier... :(

I try to contain myself as i watch the battle unfold, and watch crit after painful, lucky-ass crit. I pray the round ends soon, and it does thankfully. i rush towards my team, beat all due to my plan. I feel like crap, risking the game like that, but if it would have worked, it would have been glorious.

But it didnt.

No need to fret about that, it's behind me. Time to worry about next round. My mind swims with what i should do, and as i finalize the commands i pray i haven't made a fatal mistake. another one will surely put my beloved team down for the count. Still, i think this time things will be different. at least i hope. I give my pokemon a big hug each, and send them back onto the battle field. they still have spunk, even if the crowd has abandoned them. I groan as the cheerers call out my opponent names, but i shake it off. This round is my come-back chance. time to work some magic.

Krillowatt's First substitution gets priority over his second, in case they conflict.

Maxim was overjoyed and a little dismayed at the result of the round. On the one hand, the Confuse Ray had failed to do anything, which meant his plan went off without a hitch. But at the same time, he was annoyed at the critical hits for making the battle look kind of cheap. After some thought about his opponent's actions, he finally hit upon an idea that could save Volcarona.

"Alright guys, here's how this is going to go down. Volcarona, that Stone Edge combo will mean the death of you, but Protecting will drain too much energy. The solution? Use a 25 Hp Substitute so that when the Krillowatt attacks with Muddy Water, then Machamp's combo will do a pittance. Technically, you'd only need a 20 Hp sub, but if that Krillowatt somehow crits then that would be done for. As for the rest of you, I don't want that Xatu pulling off a Tailwind, so I want you both to combo him to death."

"Uh, master, I can't use a Substitute!"

"Wha---oh curse you Glacier, you just had to plan ahead didn't you! Oh well, nothing we can really do now except Protect and hope you don't die by energy---"

"I can't do that either!"

"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDGE POOOOOOOOOOOOOOPS!"

This round starts off with Krillowatt sending another tidal wave of mud over to Maxim's team with Muddy Water. Volcarona and Stratagem get hit hard, but Arghonaut shakes off the blow. It seems as though some mud is in Arghonaut's eye though. Maybe he should wear another eyepatch? Wait, no, that wouldn't help... Regardless, Volcarona chooses to restore some HP by calling upon the Morning Sun, while Xatu sends a barrier over to Machamp to Protect it. Perhaps Xatu should have used that on itself though, because it then gets pummeled by a Paleo Wave+Power Gem combination from Stratagem, followed by a Waterfall+Waterfall combination from Arghonaut, knocking it out. Machamp tries to avenge its comrade by using a powerful Stone Edge+Stone Edge combination on Volcarona, but it just misses the KO.

While Stratagem, Arghonaut, and Machamp are cooling down (and Xatu just lies on the ground), Krillowatt electrifies Arghonaut with a Thunderbolt, and Volcarona uses Sunny Day to brighten the field.

Despite Glacier being down a poke now, he seems to be catching up. He must have apologized to Lady Luck too, because this was a pretty clean round. But who knows what will happen next...?

Check for errors etc. Glacier, send out your next Pokemon, and then Maxim orders.

I sigh as i see my plan once again fail. Twila falls, and i rush to her side. "Return girl," i whisper, then pull out her ball. I get up and curse under my breath. This round went better at least, but i'm still behind.

Now who to send out? I think carefully, then decide on my specter.

"Go Hazel, show them your skills!"

The plan had worked just like Maxim hoped it would. Volcarona survived, albeit barely, and that Xatu had failed to initiate a Tailwind that would probably spell disaster in future rounds. Even better, the score was in his favor 5-4. However, it was likely to soon change.

"Alright then, Volcarona, take a quick break and use Morning Sun again to heal yourself, then help Stratagem use Heat Waves. As for you Arghonaut, start using Earthquakes again, because I don't think you'll be able to use too many of them soon."

Volcarona: Morning Sun~Heat Wave

Arghonaut: Taunt (Dusknoir)~Earthquake

If Dusknoir is Protected A1, switch the order of actions.
If Krillowatt uses Me First A1, switch the order of actions.

Stratagem: Heat Wave~Heat Wave
If Krillowatt uses Mirror Coat, disable it next action
If Heat Wave is Disabled, replace all remaining actions with Earth Power (Krillowatt)

I grimace as i see maxim's commands. This is going to be rou- WAIT! i suddenly see a slight flaw in his plans. i quickly get my mind thinking, and then i uncover a great secret. I CAN do this! With my brows knitted together i quickly get my team together, and feverishly tell them my plan. I check and double check to be sure it will work, and i am so confident it scares me! The plan though gets them smiling, and i sent them off on their way. my eyes lock with maxim's from all the way across the battlefield. i give an unsettling grin and wink, and he takes a step back.

I'm not giving up.

Stratagem takes advantage of the sun by using it to boost another Heat Wave, doing fair damage to Glacier's Pokemon. Krillowatt decides to protect its team by doing a Rain Dance, and that ruins Volcarona's plans of calling on the Morning Sun again to heal it. Arghonaut tries to insult and Taunt Dusknoir, but the mud in its eye caused it to mistake a rock in the arena for Dusknoir and thus it screwed up its insult. Dusknoir proceeds to deliver a ThunderPunch into Arghonaut's face, while Machamp uses a Dynamicpunch+Dynamicpunch combo, almost causing Stratagem to faint.

Stratagem quickly picks up the pace, but as it used another Heat Wave, the rain in the arena weakened the blow considerably. It did somehow manage to burn Krillowatt, though. Upset, Krillowatt summons up a massive amount of Muddy Water. Arghonaut somehow dodges the blast, but both Stratagem and Volcarona are hit dead on, causing them to simultaneously fall over and faint. Arghonaut, realizing it is now all alone, stomps the ground to cause another Earthquake. The attack leaves Machamp, and to a lesser degree Krillowatt, with hardly any HP left. Dusknoir aims to help its teammates, and strikes Arghonaut again with a ThunderPunch, this time paralyzing it.

The round ends with Krillowatt's Shed Skin ability kicking it, healing it from its burn. Glacier seems to have gained a slight upper hand despite his slow start, as Maxim has no more reserve Pokemon after this. However, Glacier has two weakened Pokemon on the field, and only one in reserve, which is in its own way bad. It'll be a close one indeed!

Check for mistakes, but now Maxim automatically sends out Crustle and Cincinno, and Glacier orders.

Long paper due. Just writing orders quickly to finish the match.

actually, im still editing moves. sorry maxim.

/brain fried due to research paper

I am very brain-dead and groggy. i have to post actions though, don't want to DQ. Flavor will be posted tomorrow. Maxim don't look at my Commands too long, you might find some loopholes >.>
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I give a quick cheer of praise as two of maxim's monsters fall down. I pull my team together, and notice they are quite tired, especially Righter and Reginald. ITs ok guys, i have a great plan that will-
GLACIER GLACIER PLEASE REPORT TO THE REAL WORLD. YOU HAVE A RESEARCH PROJECT DUE TOMORROW.
......shiz.
I leave ASB for a while, and for five straight hours i stressfully pummel my brain with useless information and compel it to create a shoddy paper.
GLACIER GLACIER YOU HAVE TO POST COMMANDS TONIGHT OR ELSE A DQ
........OH COME ON.
i return to the tournament, exhausted as all get out. I pant and strain my already pooped-out brain to come up with actions. I succeed to a point; i am not 100% confident at all however. Still, i can't do much. have to sleep.........
See you babies in the morning, i hope everything is alright!
(Sorry buddy, but I just found the I win button)
Maxim looked at Glacier's orders, and started getting worried. The only chance he had this match was to knock out both Machamp and Krillowatt, and preferably do massive damage to Dusknoir. Unfortunately, they had both subbed for Bullet Seed and Protect...but only for action one. Then Maxim had a stroke of genius.
"Alright guys, let's ruin his plan here. Arghonaut, I can't have you dying just yet, so blast that nutcase Machamp to kingdom come with an Aqua Jet+Waterfall combo. That should bypass the paralysis (unless you get fully paralyzed, in which case I am so screwed.) and destroy that machamp. In the meantime, Crustle should use his signature Shell Smash, and Cinccino should use Safeguard to nullify the first attacks. Then Cinccino will use Bullet Seed as planned, and Crustle will do massive damage with Night Slash."
Arghonaut: Aqua Jet + Waterfall combo (Machamp)~Recover
If you are fully paralyzed A1, use Focus Punch on the Referee and RNG Machine a2
Crustle: Shell Smash~Night Slash (Dusknoir)
If Machamp is not Ko'd by A2, use an Aerial Ace (Machamp) A2
Cinccino: Safeguard~Bullet Seed (Krillowatt)
Edit: Come to think of it, should Arghonaut have been able to miss last round? I'm just curious due to No Guard, but am not familiar with how it works in the case of accuracy drop.
Edit2: Oh yeah, I was taunting the Dusknoir. Even so, I'd like to know whether the accuracy drop affects Arghonaut's combo here.
Arghonaut will never miss against Machamp, but No Guard doesn't extend to its teammates; it can miss against them with bad luck :(
Cincinno (Maxim)
Krillowatt (Glacier Knight)
Machamp (Glacier Knight)
Crustle (Maxim)
Dusknoir (Glacier Knight)
Arghonaut (Maxim)
Arghonaut, trying to overcome its paralysis, blasts forward at Machamp with an Aqua Jet+Waterfall combination. It manages to not freeze up, knocking Machamp over and out of the match! Cincinno then cleverly sets up a Safeguard, and laughs as Krillowatt attempts to paralyze it with a Thunder Wave. Crustle then performs a Shell Smash to increase its offensive capabilities, while Dusknoir fails at using a Will-O-Wisp due to the Safeguard.
Crustle, now much faster than anything on the field, uses a Night Slash on Dusknoir. However, due to Dusknoir's natural bulk, it doesn't manage to do much damage, despite the boosts it nabbed last action. Cincinno follows up the offense with an absurdly powerful Bullet Seed that easily KOes Krillowatt. Dusknoir, all alone now, shoots an Ice Beam at Cincinno, but it doesn't manage to do all that much damage.
Glacier is certainly in a corner now. Sending out his signature Pokemon, Mamowine, will he be able to work his way out?
Maxim was overjoyed, in a mere round, he had gotten back into this fight. He felt kind of bad that much of his success may have depended on Glacier Knight being groggy when issuing orders, but there's nothing to do now but continue on. Still, he wasn't out of the woods yet, Glacier sent out his signature mon, Mamoswine. Still, he had a plan to get out of this situation with minimal losses.
"Alright guys, I have a plan. Cinccino, we like that Ice Beam, so try Encoring it so that we know what Dusknoir's doing for the next few actions, then attack that mamoswine with a Bullet Seed. Arghonaut, I want you to do one simple thing for me, Soak that dusknoir! Then, if you're still alive, try using a Waterfall on that mamoswine. Crustle, start by throwing sand at that mamoswine, and then send a Rock Blast at him."
Arghonaut: Soak (Dusknoir)~Waterfall (Mamoswine)
If Dusknoir Protects a1, then use Taunt on Mamoswine
If Mamoswine uses Protect, and you are about to attack him, Recover
Cinccino: Encore (Dusknoir)~Bullet Seed (Mamoswine)
If Dusknoir uses protect, switch the order of your actions
If Mamoswine protects Dusknoir a1, then use Encore on Mamoswine instead
Crustle: Sand Attack (Mamoswine)~Rock Blast (Mamoswine)
If Mamoswine uses Double Team, replace your current action with Rock Slide.
If Mamoswine uses Protect, redirect your current action towards Dusknoir.
You know what? i feel really stupid right now. And shitty, and ticked. But you know what? i could spend paragraphs flavoring my post with angsty shit and pain, but i won't. I'm in a tough situation. My baby is on the Field and my opponent has me trapped with little options. It seems futile, but hell, i'm still going for it. my attack choice my seem suicidal, but heck, gotta go all-out or go home. Sorry Hazel, but you need to take a bit of damage for Arghonaut to get the hell out of this match. I would pray to god for some Freeze Haxes, but safeguard protects against that. Damn that stupid move, and damn my ability to become brain fried. That really hurt me, and might have cost me the match.
Enough Yammering. Lets' start a fucking riot.
That song pretty much sums up my feelings. What else can i do? Oh well, you trap an animal in a corner, and it'll fight back. Good Game Maxim so far, let's see what happens next.
Crustle (Maxim)
Cincinno (Maxim)
Mamoswine (Glacier Knight)
Dusknoir (Glacier Knight)
Arghonaut (Maxim)
Glacier sends out his final Pokemon, his signature Mamoswine, and the round begins. Crustle, knowing that Mamoswine is fresh and dangerous, starts by kicking some sand in its eyes with a Sand-Attack, attempting to lower Mamoswine's accuracy. Cincinno then uses Encore on the Ice Beam Dusknoir used last round, and Dusknoir repeats the move, causing minor damage to Cincinno. Arghonaut grabs Dusknoir with a tentacle and drags it into the water with a Soak, causing Dusknoir to become a Water-type. Mamoswine, finally acting, violently shakes the arena with a fearsome Earthquake+Earthquake combination. Despite the accuracy drop, the attack manages to hit and deal some hefty damage to all the other Pokemon in the arena.
With that, Maxim's entire team brutally gangs up on Mamoswine. Crustle launches a Rock Blast at it, though it only hit with 3 hits. Cincinno used another insanely powerful Bullet Seed, and managed to score a critical hit on the last strike. Dusknoir tried to retaliate and protect Mamoswine with another Ice Beam on Cincinno. Arghonaut, overcoming its paralysis once again, used a rain boosted Waterfall on Mamoswine.
Arghonaut is on the verge of fainting, but Cincinno, Mamoswine, and Dusknoir aren't looking too good either.
One very minor error, in the Bug STAB description, it says all multihit moves get an extra hit, which means that getting two hits with Rock Blast is impossible.
