"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Anime Style Battling League Team Tournament, or ASBLTT for short! Today I'm here to ref an exciting semifinal match between two of the league's greatest battlers."

"It's good to see you all here, now then, let me review the rules for those of you just tuning in."

The Rules said:
-3v3 Singles
-All Abilities
-No Items
-5 recovers/5 chills
-2 Substitutions
-2 Day DQ for battlers
-2/3 Day DQ for refs (explained later)
-Self-KO clause; in the event of a double KO to end the match, the Pokemon that KOed itself through whatever means (self-KOing move, energy exhaustion, etc) loses.
"Now then, both battlers have agreed upon Switch=OK rules, so that's what we'll be using."

"But enough about that, you want to see some action right?"

*Cheers*

"Excellent, let me introduce our combatants!"

"In the Blue corner, hailing from The Harbingers, we have the master of tides, the tsunami warrior. Yep, it's our very own Water Gym leader Athenodoros!"

Well, it's landed on Heads! That means Atheno is going first!

Sorry about this. I unexpectedly didn't have any internets for three days, but I'm going to have to put actions up tomorrow because I've hardly slept in a week, including nights straight on the ground for the last few days. I should only be about 12 hours. Hope that's fine by you both.

EDIT: And I'd just like to say that a move which bypasses both Light Screen and Counter is amazing.

Nestor: Psyshock (Machamp) ~ Psychic (Machamp) ~ Psyshock (Machamp)
IF he uses Bide, use Reflect ~ Light Screen ~ Psyshock (Machamp) from then.
IF he uses Dig AND he is underground when you come to act, use Earthquake

And everything I know about Subs tells me that the second is allowed, but the rules for forms of moves were never completely codified, so I'd like to reorder if it isn't allowed and I can.

Round 1: The Champ vs. The King

Welcome back everyone, last we saw these two battlers, they were planning their initial assault. This round is likely to give a huge advantage to whomever comes up on top here. Oh, here the Pokemon go now!

Machamp opens up by putting a yellow Light Screen up in front of his team. Pretty good move really, most of Slowking's viable options against Machamp are special attacks. However, Slowking attempts to circumvent this screen with a Psyshock. Unfortunately for him, it turns out the Light Screen absorbs part of the blow anyways.

Machamp starts off the next round by slinging a sickly purple blob of Toxic towards the Slowking, which poisons it badly. Personally, I'm not sure this was the best idea, as an attack would probably do more damage quickly. Regardless, Slowking responds by twirling his arms around and using his mind to pick the Machamp off the ground then slam him into the ground. Ouch, what a mighty Psychic attack, though the Light Screen still hindered the attack. Slowking starts feeling a bit woozy, as the Toxic starts to take effect.

Angry at the Slowking for slamming him into the ground, Machamp crawls out of the hole, surprises Slowking, and smashes him with a Thunderpunch. That's gotta hurt a lot, and it has helped Machamp narrow the gap between himself and Slowking. However, Slowking slams Machamp with another Psyshock attack, but it hits the Light Screen again.

Well, as we wrap up the first round, we see that Athenodoros has taken a decent lead for himself, though not as good as he would have hoped. Smashlloyd is sweating now, but he does have the option to switch if he needs to. What will happen next? Only one way to find out, so stay tuned!

Nonetheless, even if Swampert can't come out to play with Aggron, Dragonite looks okay to come out for this one...

Nidhogg the Dragonite @ Expert Belt! Purely for aesthetic effect unfortunately. It just suits him.

Substitute (20) ~ Rozor Wind ~ Fly
IF
he uses Sunny Day, use Rain Dance on your next action after it
IF he uses Protect after A1, use Roost

NB: I'm assuming here that Whirlwind and friends don't remove Substitutes, like the DAT reads. I'd appreciate changing orders if this isn't the case.
I forgot to hit 'Submit' :/

Round 2: The Dragon gets blown away.

Welcome back everyone to the ASB Team Tournament. I'm here at the match between Athenodoros and Smashlloyd and things are starting to heat up. Smashlloyd switched out his Machamp for a Pyroak, but Athenodoros responded by switching his Slowking out for his Dragonite. It seems like Atheno has the upper hand, but can Smashlloyd find a way out?

Well, Pyroak certainly seems to think so. While Dragonite uses some loose scales to create a doll, Pyroak starts plotting his scheme. After a while, he has a eureka moment, and puts up a Substitute of his own with leaves. What could Smashlloyd be planning?

Dragonite doesn't give either of them much more time to think though, as he wraps a wind around himself in preparation for a powerful move. However, Pyroak just bides his time, waiting for a chance to strike. Eventually, Dragonite becomes tired of waiting, and sends the Razor Wind against the Substitute, which deals heavy damage to it, but doesn't destroy it. Unfortunately for him, this was exactly what Smashlloyd was waiting for, and Pyroak unleashes a wind of his own which, while it does no damage, it puts Dragonite in a dazed state, requiring him to switch out at the end of this round!

Dragonite isn't done just yet though, he takes to the sky and prepares for another move. But once again, Smashlloyd is one step ahead of him, and has Pyroak create clones of himself using a special spore that causes a Double Team effect. The Dragonite swoops down for a Fly attack, but his dazed state causes him to hit a clone, and ram into the wall. It looks like Athenodoros has no choice but to return Dragonite to his pokeball.

Once Dragonite is sent back, a flash comes from one of Athenodoros's pokeballs. It appears the Whirlwind sucked his Swampert right out of the pokeball, and is forcing him to fight. How will Athenodoros get out of this mess? Stay tuned to find out!

Round 3: Dodongo Swampert dislike smoke Grass

Welcome back everyone to this exciting match! Last round we witnessed these two titans going head to head, but Smashlloyd pulled out a devastating move that has forced Athenodoros's Swampert out to fight Pyroak. This is not a favorable matchup in the slightest for Atheno, can he pull out the moves he needs to survive? Let's turn the music on and find out!

Theme Music

After some discussion, Athenodoros seems to have agreed upon a strategy with his Swampert. The battle begins with Swampert going into full preservation mode, coming up with a lightning fast Protective barrier to help deflect any grass moves Pyroak cooks up. Pyroak completely disregards the barrier and pounds it with a fierce Wood Hammer! While Swampert is completely fine HP wise, the sheer force of the blow has taken a lot of energy out of him.

Swampert knows he can't Protect again, so instead he settles for using a decent Bulldoze attack which rocks the stadium from side to side, kills off Pyroak's clones, and breaks the substitute he was using. Pyroak responds almost at the same time by firing some Seed Bombs, which hit Swampert for massive damage. Things aren't looking that great for Athenodoros.

Swampert then decides to Protect again, seeing another Wood Hammer from miles away. Indeed, Pyroak does use his Wood Hammer again, but what neither of them were expecting was the critical hit that came with it. While Swampert still sustained no damage, the barrier itself shattered, making it seem like Swampert has lost a lot of his energy.

And according to the charts, it appears he's blown sixty five energy in one round! Man that Pyroak is strong. Atheno may have saved his friend a lot of HP, but once Swampert comes back out he'll need to chill pretty early on. Can Athenodoros get out of this madness alive, or will Smashlloyd smash him to pieces? Stay tuned to find out!

Round 4: Aggron Smashes his foe with Heavy Metal.

Welcome back everyone! Thanks for tuning in to the ASB Team Tournament Semifinals. Last round, Smashlloyd did some pretty massive damage to Swampert's energy, putting Athenodoros quite a bit behind. As if that wasn't enough, Dragonite is now faced with a powerful Aggron. Can Atheno regain his lost momentum?

Well, Dragonite certainly aims to. After hearing Smashlloyd order his Aggron to Head Smash, Athenodoros comes up with a devious move. Dragonite then starts storing energy, or dear is that what I think it is? A Bide?! Man, if Aggron doesn't finish Dragonite off in a hurry, things are going to get hairy for him. And by that I mean the arena's probably going to blow up. Something to think about. Anyways, Aggron hesitates for a bit, not quite confident in his master's plan, but after a reassuring nod from Smashlloyd, Aggron charges up to the Dragonite and Head Smashes him, doing massive damage.

Dragonite keeps charging up his energy. He's barely holding on, the weight of Aggron's Head Smash doing more and more damage. Aggron, desperate to stop Dragonite's Bide before it's too late, charges in for one last Head Smash. At first, it seems that Dragonite is barely standing up...but then it drops, the energy it stored up dispersing harmlessly into the ground.

That's going to be disastrous for Athenodoros folks. Already he's one Pokemon down and he hasn't even put a dent into that Aggron. At this point, I think it's safe to put my win prediction on Smashlloyd. Will Athenodoros prove my prediction wrong? Stay tuned to find out!

I thought WC 8 had to be after the doubling... Damn. Sorry guys. I take solace in the fact that clearly they didn't calc it either...

Earth Power ~ Block ~ Earth Power
IF
he uses Metal Burst AND you didn't use FPunch last action, use Focus Punch ~ Chill (not subbing for the next action)
