==================================
[Overview]

<p>With its astounding Rock- and Fighting-type STABs that are unresisted by commonly seen Uber Pokemon along with a respectable 129 base Attack stat, Terrakion can be a huge offensive threat in Ubers. Terrakion can also raise its Attack by one stage every time it gets hit by a Dark-type attack through its ability Justice Heart. Along with its great Attack, Terrakion also boasts an impressive 108 base Speed that allows it to outspeed a fair amount of Uber Pokemon. While its defensive typing is somewhat disappointing, Terrakion's 91/90/90 defenses can come in handy at time, especially when granted the 1.5x Special Defense boost from sandstorm. Terrakion also has access to a powerful offensive movepool with some added toys, such as Swords Dance and Rock Polish. Due to these attributes, Terrakion can function extraordinarily well as either a sweeper or revenge killer.</p>

[SET]
name: Uber Choice Scarf
move 1: Close Combat
move 2: Stone Edge
move 3: X-Scissor
move 4: Earthquake / Sacred Sword
item: Choice Scarf
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

<p>With Terrakion's above-average 108 base Speed boosted by Choice Scarf, Terrakion is able to hit a Speed stat of 519, allowing it to outspeed a vast majority of the Uber tier. In fact, it is able to outspeed any Pokemon without a Speed boost and a good majority of popular Choice Scarf users. Terrakion can outspeed Choice Scarf variants of Palkia and Garchomp, some of the fastest Pokemon in the Uber metagame, as well as outspeed both Rayquaza and Salamence after they have used Dragon Dance. It can also switch into Darkrai's Dark Pulse or Tyranitar's Crunch and gain an Attack stage through its ability as well as being able to outspeed both afterward.</p>

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

<p>Psychic-types serve two excellent purposes as teammates to Terrakion: it can bait Dark-type attacks that Terrakion can switch into to gain Justice Heart boosts and can handle Fighting-type moves aimed at Terrakion. Wobbuffet is an excellent example as it can also handle opposing Scarfers. As a revenge killer, Terrakion appreciates entry hazard support that will allow it to efficiently KO its targets. Deoxys-S is a good candidate as it will also draw out Dark-type attacks for Terrakion to switch in on. Skarmory is another great example as it resists three out of Terrakion's six weaknesses, is immune to Ground, and is neutral to the other two. Furthermore, Skarmory can set up entry hazards or Whirlwind Pokemon that try to set up on Terrakion's switch out, such as Swords Dance Scizor. Sandstorm also benefits Terrakion by boosting its Special Defense to a respectable 324 without investment, as well as wearing down opposing Pokemon with residual damage. For this reason, Hippowdon or Tyranitar would make good teammates.</p>

<p>Earthquake is the recommended move to use in slot four as it allows Terrakion to deal with Pokemon such as Jirachi and Metagross better, although with the advent of Air Balloon more Pokemon can switch into it without getting hurt. There are also a fair number of Pokemon within the Uber metagame that are either Flying-type or have access to Levitate; however, they will not want to switch into Terrakion at first for fear of Stone Edge. Therefore, Sacred Sword is a suitable alternative choice over Earthquake, although it is normally outclassed by Close Combat. Sacred Sword's main attraction is that it can be used if your team has trouble with Bulk Up Dialga or other such Pokemon since it will bypass the Pokemon's boosted Defense.</p>

<p>Terrakion has trouble dealing with bulky Ghost-types like Ghost Arceus and Giratina, both of whom can either set up on Terrakion or cripple it with Will-O-Wisp. Tyranitar does a good job of dealing with both of these Pokemon, and the sandstorm that Tyranitar brings with it has the added bonus of giving Terrakion's Special Defense a 1.5x boost. Psychic- and Ghost-types also make good teammates for Terrakion, as they will bait Dark-type moves that Terrakion can switch in on in order to gain a 1.5x Attack boost.</p>

[SET]
name: Uber Double Dancer
move 1: Rock Polish
move 2: Swords Dance
move 3: Stone Edge
move 4: Close Combat
item: Life Orb
nature: Jolly / Adamant
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

<p>With Rock Polish and Swords Dance boosting Terrakion's already-impressive Speed and Attack, Terrakion can be a huge force to be reckoned with. Add Terrakion's great offensive coverage due to its STABs and you have the making of an extremely potent sweeper. Terrakion also resists the most commonly used form of priority in Ubers, ExtremeSpeed, so priority won't be as much of a problem for Terrakion as it is in OU. It is often recommended that Terrakion use Rock Polish before it sets up a Swords Dance, as commonly used Pokemon that outspeed it will easily be able to hit Terrakion with some form of super effective move, such as Mewtwo's Aura Sphere, Darkrai's Focus Blast, and Shaymin-S's Seed Flare. After a Rock Polish, Terrakion hits 692 and is able to outspeed virtually the entire tier, outside of Scarf Deoxys and the occasional Ninjask. With Swords Dance, Terrakion hits an astounding 714 Attack stat that will allow it to tear through any number of Pokemon with its fantastic offensive STAB combination.</p>

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

<p>Wobbuffet serves two excellent purposes as a teammate to Terrakion: it can bait Dark-type attacks that Terrakion can switch into to gain Justice Heart boosts and can also help Terrakion by using Encore on a set up or Dark-type move, allowing Terrakion to switch in and boost its stats as the opposing Pokemon switches out. As a plus, Wobbuffet can handle Fighting-type moves aimed at Terrakion and Scarfers that try to outspeed and KO Terrakion. Like most sweepers, Terrakion appreciates entry hazard support that will allow it to efficiently KO its targets.

<p>An Adamant nature can be used for more power; Terrakion will still hit a total of 630 Speed after a single Rock Polish. However, this allows positive-natured base 95s and above to outspeed Terrakion before Rock Polish. While the set normally relies on its incredible Speed after a Rock Polish, Terrakion can often find it hard to set up in Ubers with its overall disappointing defensive typing. For this reason it is normally recommended that a Jolly nature be used.</p>

<p>Terrakion can often have a hard time setting up due to its somewhat lackluster defenses and typing. For this reason, it is highly recommended that Wobbuffet be used with Terrakion. Wobbuffet can still use Encore to help other Pokemon set up like in DPP, despite the reduction of turns that Encore is active. Additionally, Wobbuffet can help attract Dark-type Pokemon such as Darkrai and Tyranitar for Terrakion to switch into. While Darkrai can give Terrakion trouble with either Dark Void or Focus Blast, Choice Scarf variants are a piece of cake to set up on. Tyranitar on the other hand is pretty easy to set up on, as it cannot safely stay in and take a Close Combat.</p>

[Optional Changes]

<p>Air Balloon can be used on the Double Dancer set instead of Life Orb, but is not as effective in Ubers as it is in OU. While Air Balloon does grant Terrakion immunity to Spikes and Toxic Spikes, it really only allows Terrakion to switch in easier on Garchomp and Groudon. The former can do a good deal of damage to Terrakion with Outrage, while the latter can take Terrakion's attacks fairly well and can phaze any boosts that Terrakion has with either Dragon Tail or Roar.</p>

<p>Terrakion can run X-Scissor or Earthquake over either Rock Polish or Swords Dance if you are concerned about coverage. This is often not recommended as Terrakion usually needs both Rock Polish and Swords Dance to be an effective sweeper. If you really only want one boosting move, then Rock Polish is recommended as it is possible for Terrakion to boost its Attack stat through its ability Justice Heart. The problem with relying on Justice Heart is that once Terrakion is revealed, it will become increasingly harder to find random Dark-type attacks for it to switch into.</p>

[Checks and Counters]

<p>Terrakion will often have trouble with bulky Ghost-types, most notably Ghost Arceus and Giratina-A. With only Stone Edge or Earthquake to effectively hit these two, both can easily set up on Terrakion or cripple it with either Will-O-Wisp or Thunder Wave. Terrakion also has trouble dealing with Groudon due to its immense physical bulk. If Terrakion does not have a Swords Dance acquired by the time Groudon is switched in, then Groudon can easily KO it with Earthquake or phaze Terrakion with Dragon Tail should Terrakion have Air Balloon equipped.</p>

You need to include a [Dream World] section that says that Terakion doesn't get a DW ability. You should also split up your set writeups into 'Set Comments', 'Additional Comments', and 'Team Options & Counters' for ease of reading. You can refer to my Doryuuzu analysis to see the proper format.

Looks good now!

As a player, I still think you should have Rock Polish in the slash for the SD set.

Terakion @ Life Orb
Ability: Justice Heart
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly nature (+Spe, -SpA)
~ Swords Dance
~ Rock Polish
~ Close Combat
~ Stone Edge

It's very handy being able to RP or SD based on the situation, and CC + SE give amazing enough coverage that you really don't need a third attacking move.

I'd probably slap a Band / Scarf set on this bad boy since unlike its other Fighting-type duo it has a pretty awesome Attack stat. It's at least worthy for the analysis since it grants +1 to Attack or Speed and it's resistant to Pursuit anyhow.

Taunt should be an option on the set-up sets. It should at least be mentioned in optional changes.

It looks good. Personally I'd prefer to see Rock Polish as the #1 set, because it's just monstrous. Terakion is already strong enough to OHKO nearly the entire metagame. Swords Dance is useful for slower walls I guess (Hippowdon can survive a 2+ Earthquake though)

I just don't feel like Scarf or Band would too effective in Ubers. Scarf is a possibility, but Band is doubtful in my mind. Looks good in OU though. Will do some testing though.

Ready for QC right now.

I would like to see at least an OC mention of Scarf in here. It can revenge a fair bit of things with it, such as Swords Dance Rayquaza and Extreme Killer Arceus (most likely needs some prior damage, bulky little... Either way it won't like it though). Other than that it looks fine.

If the analysis is geared toward Ubers, I would definitely put Choice Scarf at the top of the list. It is helluva effective to use since STAB Fighting tears through a lot of troublesome Pokemon such as Swords Dance Arceus or Steel Arceus. Mention that it's stopped cold by Giratina and Giratina-O especially (literally the only move that can touch it is Stone Edge). Choice Band should follow after that, since its Speed is acceptable to outspeed Scarf Palkia and Scarf Garchomp. Mention for bonuses that it resists Extremespeed; probably the biggest reason why it should be used over many Scarf Pokemon.

I'd wait on Rock Polish and Swords Dance. Maybe it's just me but it's iffy to set up. Rock Polish might do a bit better since it's helluva fast as is and it can force switch outs rather easily. Groudon and Giratinas being able to stop it cold is a problem. Ghost Arceus also does decently at not letting it plow through.

For future reference here is the exact set:

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Close Combat
move 2: Stone Edge
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: X-Scissor
item: Choice Scarf
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
nature: Jolly

Max HP Normal Arceus takes 75% min fro CC and can't OHKO back with a boosted ESpeed. (Doesn't come close.) EQ is your best attack vs Zekrom and Jirachi, and X-Scissor is to revenge stuff like Mewtwo without risking Stone Edge missing.

EDIT- Good boy.

Ditto on the other hand can easily switch into the Double Dancer set, gaining and gain all of the acquired stat boosts up until the upon transformation. Since Terakion is weak to its own Fighting STAB, Ditto can easily take it out after the transformation.</p>

As a plus, Wobbuffet can handle take Fighting-type moves aimed at Terakion and , as well as take care of Scarfers that try to outspeed and KO Terakion. Like most sweepers, Terakion appreciates entry hazard support that will allow it Terakion to efficiently KO its targets easier KO its targets. Deoxys-S is a good candidate example as it will also draw out Dark-type attacks for Terakion to switch in on. Skarmory is another great example as it resists three out of Terakion's six weaknesses, is immune to Ground, and is neutral to the other two. Furthermore, Skarmory can set up entry hazards or Whirlwind Pokemon that try to set up on Terakion's switch out, such as Swords Dance Scizor. Sandstorm also benefits Terakion by boosting its Special Defense to a respectable 324 without investment, as well as wearing down opposing Pokemon with residual damage. For this reason, Hippowdon or Tyranitar would make good teammates.</p>

[Optional Changes]
<p>Balloon can be used on the Double Dancer set instead of Life Orb, but is not as effective in Ubers as it is in OU. While Balloon does grant Terakion immunity to Spikes and Toxic Spikes, it really only allows Terakion to switch in easier on Garchomp and Groudon. The former can do a good deal of damage to Terakion with Outrage, while the latter can take Terakion's attacks fairly well and can phaze any boosts that Terakion has with either Dragon Tail or Roar.</p>

<p>Terakion can run X-Scissor or Earthquake over either Rock Polish or Swords Dance if you are concerned about coverage. This is often not recommended as Terakion usually needs both Rock Polish and Swords Dance to be an effective sweeper. If you really only want one boosting move, then Rock Polish is recommended as it is possible for Terakion to boost its Attack stat through its ability Justice Heart. The problem with relying on Justice Heart is that once Terakion is revealed, it will become increasingly harder to find random Dark-type attacks for it to switch into.</p>

[Counters]
<p>Terakion will often have trouble with bulky Ghost-types, most notably Ghost Arceus and Giratina-A. With only Stone Edge or Earthquake to effectively hit these two, both can easily set up on Terakion or cripple it with either Will-O-Wisp or Thunder Wave. Terakion also has trouble dealing with Groudon due to its immense physical bulk. If Terakion does not have a Swords Dance acquired by the time Groudon is switched in, then Groudon can easily KO it with Earthquake or phaze Terakion with Dragon Tail should Terakion have Balloon equipped.</p>

[Dream World]
<p>Terakion does not receive a Dream World ability.</p>

<p>With the addition of Dream World Pokemon, Terakion gets two additional major counters. Shandera can easily switch in on a Choice Scarf Close Combat, or even a X-Scissor, and either set up or KO Terakion. Ditto on the other hand can easily switch into the Double Dancer set, and gain all of the acquired stat boosts upon transformation. Since Terakion is weak to its own Fighting-type STAB, Ditto can easily take it out after the transformation.</p>

on the scarf set why not adamant for that insane power while still having very nice speed?

With Adamant it loses to DDRay, Scarfchomp, Scarf Palkia, DDMence. Basically, if the Pokemon has base 95 Speed minimum, and it has +1 Speed, it will beat Adamant Terakion

Just nitpicking... "at time" should be "at times" in the overview, and "switch in easier" should be "switch in more easily" in the optional changes! ^_^

You might want to slash in Sacred Sword as a reliable substitute for Close Combat. Sacred Sword has more PP, no drawbacks, and bypasses defense and evasion boosts. Terakion's defenses, while not having the best typing, are very strong, and keeping the extra defenses could guard it from priority, too.

<%barry4ever> do you think CB deserves an OO mention for Terrakion ?
<@firecape> idk
<%barry4ever> since it can OHKO Lugia with SR
<%barry4ever> the current analysis doesnt have it mentioned
<@firecape> o OO mention is fine I guess

-Giratina-O needs to be mentioned as well along with Ghost Arceus and Giratina. It is an arguably better check than either since it immune to all but SE and takes a weak hit from X-Scissor. Stone Edge wont usually 2HKO Giratina-O so i do think Giratina-O needs a mention.

-Bold Mono Attacking Kyogre can stomach two Scarf Close Combats and does 81.9% - 96.6% with Rain boosted Scald.

I know this is done, but you could probably mention that Air Balloon allows Double Dance Terrakion to be an emergency check to Extremekiller Arceus without being stuck with that crappy Scarf o_0.

Small nitpick:
AC of first set:
"Psychic-types serve two excellent purposes as teammates to Terrakion: it can bait Dark-type...."
Assuming "it" refers to Psychic-types, it follows that "it" should be "they."
