Arena:
Ancient Cavern
Field Type: Neutral
Complexity: Intense
Format: Singles

Restrictions:
No weather. Difficult to Dig through, but other seismic activity is easy to achieve. Surf can be used (see description).

Description:

The Ancient Cavern is an underground room said to have once housed extraterrestrial and mystical beings. The floor is made of stone, with a light dusting of sand, concealing the cracks. The roof is held up by crumbling pillars, and the room is lit up by many torches. Between the pillars are large waterfalls, which make a Surf attack (or any other attack requiring a water source) feasible. However, due to the mystical properties of the arena, none of these can be damaged. At one end there is the entrance through which you came, though it was blocked off by a rusting portcullis as you entered. At the other is a large, granite statue of a strange, almost humanoid, Pokémon. It stoops down on one knee, with the other arm raised to strike. The strange and intricate situation becomes even stranger, as huge gems on the lifted arm begin to glow. From these gems spheres of light spill out and fill the room, swirling around your chosen Pokémon. It is clear that these spheres of light have mystical effects.

When a Pokémon is sent out, you can choose to apply one of these effects, and one only. Once an effect has been used, it cannot be used again on another Pokémon.

STRATEGY ORB
Once per turn, a Pokemon can use the Strategy Orb to use the opponent's attack or support move against it with +2bp and unbeatable priority, at the cost of double the energy of the move. A Pokemon holding a Strategy Orb reduces the Power Orb's damage modifier to 1.1x.

POWER ORB
This effect must declared the turn before it is used. In exchange for attacking first, the user's Pokemon gains 1.3x damage on all of its attacks. The turn after the actual effect of the Power Orb takes place, the user will move second. This effect can be used thrice per battle. During the effect of the Power Orb, all attempts to use the Luck Orb will fail.

LUCK ORB
Thrice per battle, the user may select an attack about to be used by the opponent and choose a number from 1-6. A die will be rolled, and if the number is not equal to the number chosen, then the attack will miss. A second die will then be rolled, and if the number is the same as the number rolled on the first die, then the effect/damage that would have been taken is applied to the opponent. Against an opponent holding a Strategy Orb, the effect/damage will always be reflected.

If a Beheeyem is sent out onto the field after all three effects have been used by its team, the ref must RNG a number from 1-100. If the number is 25 or less, then all three effects are applied to the Beheeyem. Otherwise, no effect occurs.

Note that due to this being doubles, the 3 orbs will be available to each player. It is impossible to activate the Beheeyem effect in this format, as it requires 3 Pokémon by an individual player to be used.

I accidentally sent the PM to "Engineer", who is not "Engineer Pikachu". Anyway, it's changed now.

Go Alexander the Gallade, with a Strategy Orb!

SHOW ME YOUR MOVES

Also note that for the Power Orb, you can declare it taking effect [next turn] on a turn when you aren't last, rather than explicitly having to be first.

Korski

Use Protect if Alexander tries to Taunt you and doesn't flinch, then shift actions over.

I guess we'll hope for some flinches on our side so as to activate Steadfast, for strategy!

Round One Start!

"Hmm, this is the ancient cavern? This seems a bit boring, why don't we - WOAH!" A statue of a creature stands in the very center of the arena. What could this possibly be? As the archaeologist pokes the base of the statue, he is suddenly trampled by four trainers and eight Pokemon. "This is a cool place to battle! Let's do it!"

Ed starts the match for us, hurling a thin blade of surprisingly sharp... air at Alexander, who takes some decent damage. Taking the hit in stride, Alexander runs towards Kitch, engaging in a quick flurry of blows that leaves Kitch nursing his wounds like a young baby. Hyperion dishes out more pain, shooting pulsating draconic energy at the vulnerable Kitch. It seems to deal more damage than usual, thanks to Hyperion's skilliiMKUltra's luck! Kitch quickly recovers, setting up a glittering screen of light that seems to thin out the incoming rays of sun.

Seemingly paranoid that someone will attempt to strike him, Ed, quickly moves back and forth between four different places, creating three clones of himself that quickly flutter in and out of existence. Under the shade of the large statue, Alexander quickly gives a round of applause to Kitch, forcing him to repeat his last move! While Kitch does so, attempting to set up a second screen (and, of course, failing), Hyperion summons a hurricane that somehow makes its way into the cavern, collapsing half of the ceiling and inflicting tons of damage to Kitch, even through the wondrous screen.

Once again, Ed fires off a sharp blade of air towards Alexander, but it's not just one blade this time. Four different Eds seem to fire the blade at the same time, completely bewildering Alexander as he seems to take four hits (of course, he only takes one). However, he completely disregards this, engaging in another flurry of blows with the opponent he just applauded, dealing quite a bit of damage yet again. Hyperion is unrelenting, shooting a second pulse of powerful energy at Kitch, who seems to take a critical hit yet again! Wanting to strike back, Kitch just reflects on the applause and attempts to set up a Light Screen again, obviously failing.

End.

Round Two!

Ed starts the round off again for us, slicing his mantis arms down in an X towards Alexander. It seems that Ed reaches a weak spot, dealing extra damage, resulting in a whopping blow! Alexander is a man, he can take it. Shooting some unmanly rainbow-colored leaves into the air, they dart at one of the four Eds, dissipating the three clones and dealing... 2 damage. Hyperion rushes forward towards Kitch with a claw of draconic might, but Kitch throws up a protective shield just in time.

Now ignored, Ed dances around in the air like a lunatic, playing with swords that only he can see. It seems to do... something, raising his attack by two stages. As Kitch prepares to smash someone's face in with a hammer, Alexander and Hyperion strike with their powerful blows, just... knocking him out >_>

As the two strong opponents turn towards Ed with a slash of psychic energy and a punch of fiery strength, Ed can only start zooming around the cavern like a demented fly, avoiding all the attacks. just kidding Fire Punch hit

Close Combat Itasca to the death!

However, if it uses Detect at any point, use Will-o-Wisp on Ed, and Psycho Cut on Ed on following occasions.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to say that I'll be away from Monday to Friday, likely only being able to post on the following Saturday. I may be able to post while I'm away, but I'm not sure, so I'm laying this out now. Please don't DQ me ;D

ROUND THREE!

Ed starts the round yet again, opting not to attack his opponents but to luxuriously relax in the cavern, restoring his health back to 100%. Meanwhile, Alexander and Hyperion pound Itasca with a flurry of blows and a pulse of energy, knocking off a sizable chunk of Itasca's sizable HP. Itasca isn't entirely helpless, however, as she reflects the damage done to her back onto Alexander, dealing quite a bit of damage.

Finally realizing the trouble that his team is in, Ed attacks, slicing Alexander diagonally, dealing a much greater output of damage than one would expect; it seems that Alexander has really left himself open after all those attacks! Just like last action, Alexander and Hyperion gang up on Itasca, dealing another large amount of damage. Itasca, once again, reflects the damage done onto Alexander, which is enough to knock him out.

Happy that she's earned a kill, Itasca now turns on Hyperion, shooting a beam of cold azure ice at the large dragon. It seems to have done a surprisingly little amount of damage, and it seems that Hyperion's scales are glittering with a strange force... Ed attempts to attack the dead corpse of Alexander, but Alchemator quickly recalls the Gallade back before he can do real harm. Hyperion viciously attacks Itasca, dealing a lot of damage again.
