Are you serious? These guys are fighting over Dr. Pepper? My goodness, what has ASB come to if we have to hold matches over soda preferences...Eh, at least I get UC. As a crowd gathers around the TV to watch a particularly exciting round of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Wario delivers a message to the soon-to-be-disappointed gamers: "WARIO WARIO WAHAHAHARIO WARIO WARIO WAHAHAHA!" (This roughly translates as "Too bad I rented out the stadium to some punks arguing over a beverage!") As the crowd gets up and starts to leave, they realize exactly what's happening on-screen- the only thing more attracting to nerds than Super Smash Bros. (except WoW, LoL, D&D, Skyrim, Minecraft, Warlight, etc.): Pokemon! Two trainers, the inexplicable Son_of_Shadoo and the inscrutable Orcinus Duo, have gathered on Wario's arena to engage in combat over possibly the most trivial matter in existence: the quality level of Dr. Pepper. They seem very hyped about it, unlike everyone else, but, since the only other option is to interact socially with someone who can't speak Klingon fluently, everyone else has decided to look interested anyway. Here's a description of the WarioWare arena, for those of you who may not have heard of it: WarioWare (Move your mouse to reveal the content) WarioWare (open) WarioWare (close) An artificial environment with no external water source or natural grass. Digging and seismic moves are allowed. Weather is allowed. At the beginning of each round, the ref will give a task to the participating pokemon to perform during the round. It can be anything as long as all active pokemon can feasibly accomplish it (eg, use non-STAB moves only). Any pokemon that fail to complete the task take damage equal to 1/4 of their max HP. Even Wario needs rules sometimes, so here are the agreed-upon conditions of the match. And, of course, what's a Pokemon battle without Pokemon? Just a battle, that's what! Orcinus Duo's Destroyers: Buffy and Mind (bring 3? I THINK NOT) (Move your mouse to reveal the content) Orcinus Duo's Destroyers: Buffy and Mind (bring 3? I THINK NOT) (open) Orcinus Duo's Destroyers: Buffy and Mind (bring 3? I THINK NOT) (close) Buffy (Pinsir) (M) Summary: Bug STAB; more mobility in dense brush or forest conditions. Gains an extra guaranteed attack on multi-hit moves. Hyper Cutter: Type: Innate This Pokemon always keeps its claws/teeth/pincers extremely sharp, and thus cannot have its attack reduced. Mold Breaker: Type: Innate Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, Volt Absorb will not absorb electric attacks, Clear Body does not prevent stat-drops, etc.) Moxie (DW): Type: Innate This Pokemon gets psyched after it earns a KO on an opposing Pokemon, increasing its attack by one (1) stage. This boost is maintained at the end of each round. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks. Abilities: Soundproof:Type: Innate Pokemon with this ability emit their own powerful electrostatic or sound-dampening field, making them immune to sound-based moves other than an ally's or their own Heal Bell. (Known sound moves: Bug Buzz, Chatter, Echoed Voice, Grasswhistle, Growl, Heal Bell, Hyper Voice, Metal Sound, Perish Song, Relic Song, Roar, Round, Screech, Sing, Snarl, Snore, Supersonic, Uproar. Filter:Type: Innate This Pokemon has a special energy barrier that reduces the Base Attack Power of any opponent’s super-effective attack by two (2). Technician (DW):Type: Innate This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects. Son_of_Shadoo sends out his two Pokemon and attempts to complete the TotR. Orcinus Duo also tries to complete the TotR. Dummy007 laughs in both their faces, posts something that vaguely resembles a reffing and includes the next TotR, and goes on an unannounced three-week hiatus. In the meantime, Orcinus Duo tries to complete the next TotR. Son_of_Shadoo does likewise. Dummy007 returns from his hiatus to find that no one is willing to ref, reluctantly posts another half-hearted reffing, and goes on a four-week hiatus to see if he can get rid of these guys. He doesn't. :/ etc. I will post the first round's TotR once SoS has picked his Pokemon.
