Hello, if you're not involved, please don't post until the completion of this TLR. Even if you want to point out an error, a simple VM will do. Thank you.

Hello folks, I'll be taking you for today. Today's Mysterious Cove challengers consist of Galladiator: Winner of CAP ASB's first Singles Tounament (Predictions), & C$FP: Steel-Type Gym leader & the first user to tackle HA! Let's see what they decided to bring...

C$FP

Breloom [Breloom] (Male)
Nature: Adamant (+ to Attack; - from Special Attack)
Type: Grass/Fighting
Grass: Grass STAB; immunity to Leech Seed and Worry Seed. 50% reduction in status effect chance of oncoming "powder" attacks. More mobile in areas with strong natural light sources. Superior senses in tall grass and forest areas. Able to use Wrap and Bind without losing focus.
Fighting: Fighting STAB; ignore weight restrictions on Circle Throw, Seismic Toss, Sky Drop, Storm Throw, Submission, and Vital Throw. Superior reaction time in close quarters.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Effect Spore
Type: Can be Disabled
This Pokemon has a stockpile of defensive spores which it releases on opponents who strike with contact attacks. There is a 10% chance each of poison, paralysis, and sleep. When disabled, the Pokemon's Powder attacks are 10% more accurate.

Ability 2: Poison Heal
Type: Innate
Pokemon with this ability have internal structures that absorb the toxins in poison and uses them to recover two (2) HP/action instead of taking poison damage. When a Pokemon with Poison Heal inflicts Poison on themselves with an attack, it uses up one of their Recovery Moves. If Toxic'd, the Toxic counter will still go up each round and Toxic will do the relevant damage for that round should their ability be disabled.

Ability 3 (DW) [unlocked]: Technician
Type: Innate
This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects.

Bronzong [Bronzong] (Genderless)
Nature: Brave (+ to Attack; - 15% from Speed; -10% flat evasion)
Type: Steel/Psychic
Steel: Steel STAB; immune to Sandstorm, highly insusceptible to toxic attacks, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, can be magnetized. Superior senses in high-metal environments like construction sites or factories.
Psychic: Psychic: Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic attacks regardless of weight difference. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Levitate
Type: Trait
This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. Dig and Dive can strike a Levitating Pokemon if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. Otherwise Dig and Dive will miss. Ground moves can still hit. Levitate Pokemon will retain the Levitate trait when they use Skill Swap on an enemy, and will steal the opponent's ability (the user can specify if they want a foe or ally to gain Levitate from a Skill Swap.) If a Pokemon with Levitate uses Role Play, they will copy the opponent's abilities and retain Levitate.

Ability 2: Heatproof
Type: Innate
This Pokemon's mirror-like alloyed skin protects it from Fire-type attacks, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire-typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.) The damage inflicted by burns is also cut in half.

Ability 3 (DW): Heavy Metal
Type: Innate
The Pokemon's body structure is immensely dense, doubling its actual weight. Additionally, when the Pokemon uses Giga Impact, Gyro Ball, Heat Crash, Heavy Slam, Tackle, recoil and uncontrollable attacks [Full list: Double-Edge, Giga Impact, Gyro Ball, Head Charge, Head Smash, Heat Crash, Heavy Slam, Hi Jump Kick, Jump Kick, Outrage, Petal Dance, Submission, Tackle, Take Down, Thrash, Volt Tackle, Wood Hammer, and Wild Charge] it will calculate using a Weight Class that adds a value equal to the Pokemon's Weight Class divided by their Size Class, minus (-) one (1). [Ex. HM Aron WC = 5 + ((5 /1) - 1) = 9.

Rock: Rock STAB; Take 2 less damage from all special attacks during Sandstorm. Able to use Sand Tomb without losing focus.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Swift Swim
Type: Innate
The Pokemon with this ability moves extremely fast in slick, rainy conditions, doubling (x2) its Speed in the rain.

Ability 2: Shell Armor
Type: Innate
This Pokemon’s thick, bony outer shell prevents it from taking critical hits.

Ability 3: Weak Armor (DW)
Type: Can Be Enabled
The Pokemon can loosen its worn defensive armor so that it will break off when an opponent uses a contact attack, reducing the Pokemon's Defense and increasing their Speed by one (1) stage for each hit.

Sneasel [Emile] (M)
Nature: Adamant (+ Attack, - Sp. Atk)

Type:
Dark: Dark STAB; immunity to all telepathic and telekinetic attacks, better performance in all darkened and especially twilight conditions. Can use any Dark-type attack regardless of Attraction.
Ice: Ice STAB; immune to freezing and Sheer Cold, no vision loss or damage in Hail or snowstorm conditions, perfectly accurate and 30% Protect breaking Blizzard in Hail. Superior senses and mobility in frozen caves and other frigid arenas.

Abilities:
Inner Focus: (Innate) When an opponent attempts to flinch this Pokemon, it stands firm and continues its attack. If it has another ability that would be activated by flinching, that ability activates.
Keen Eye: (Innate) This Pokemon has extremely good vision and cannot have its accuracy lowered by an opponent through any means (including accuracy lowering attacks, Smogs, Hazes, Fog, etc.). Its attacks are still affected by an opponent’s evasion and the Pokemon's own accuracy.
Pickpocket (DW) (LOCKED): (Innate) This Pokemon's mischievous nature and greed make it very effective at pawning off an opponents item. If this Pokemon has no item and either it or the opposing Pokemon strikes with a contact attack, their item is stolen and becomes the held item of this Pokemon. Pokemon with Pickpocket can be commanded to swap items with an ally, and only they will need to expend an action to do so because of their swifter sleight of hand.

Nature: Jolly (+15% Speed, +30% Accuracy, -1 SpA)

Type:
Bug: Bug STAB; more mobility in dense brush or forest conditions. Gains an extra guaranteed attack on multi-hit moves.
Flying: Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a size class greater than four (4). Immune to Spikes and Toxic Spikes. Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

Abilities:
Swarm: (Innate) When this Pokemon’s HP is lower than 33% (flat), the Base Attack Power of any Bug-typed attack is increased by 2. (eg Silver Wind goes from 6 to 8, X-Scissor from 8 to 10)
Technician: (Innate) This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects.
Steadfast (DW): (innate) If this Pokemon is flinched, it becomes aware of the speed difference and increases Speed by one (1) stage to make up the difference. This Speed boost is maintained at the end of each round.

Type:
Fire: Fire STAB; immune to burn, emit a low glow in dark places, takes additional damage if active open flames are exposed to a water attack. Superior senses in volcanic or brushfire areas.

Abilities:
Intimidate: (Can Be Activated) When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intimidating roar or war cry that shakes all opponents on the battlefield, reducing their Attack stage by one (1). The attack drop is maintained at the end of each round. If an opponent switches in a new Pokemon, Intimidate can be activated again as an Action, and will affect all opponents.
Flash Fire: (Innate) This Pokemon thrives in high temperatures, and takes the energy of any opposing fire attack, nullifies the damage, and uses the additional power to boost its own fire attack’s Base Attack Power by two (2). Self-targeted attacks do not give the boost.
Justified (DW): This Pokemon's body reacts to dark energy, invigorating its passions. When hit by a Dark-type move, the Pokemon's attack will increase one (1) stage. A boost gained this way by another Pokemon's attack will be maintained at the end of each round. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts.

MYSTERIOUS COVE

"Did you ever hear of the Legends?"

"What Legends?"

"Of Pokemon so rare, so powerful, that their very existence is debated even amongst Pokemon researchers."

"Oh, those legends. What of it?"

"They say there is a cove with a rare Pokemon in it. The Pokemon around there aren't particularly strong, and the place itself has been checked time and time again. But people still insist there's a legend there. But it can only be found if you can hear its voice."

"Sounds like a fairy tale. Lay off the whisky."

"Whatever you say. I'm heading over there to check it out."

There is a cove hidden deep in a forest that beckons those few chosen ones who seek the legends. In order to get there you will have to cross several kinds of treacherous terrain, but this may be your first chance to get a taste of adventure. A mysterious man meets you at the entrance, signaling you forward. Oddly, it seems like you're the only one who can see them. You ignore the jests of your friends and follow him. You think you've heard him speak before, but you can't quite remember what his voice sounds like. It strikes you as odd, but you head towards the Mysterious Cove anyway.

Player Options:
a) Enter Mysterious Cove.
b) Leave Mysterious Cove.
I dare one of you to do take Option B.. :P

Alrightio, so you two are game enough to continue? Very well then. (Also Option B was more of a troll than anything, but if you wanted to change your mind, then the option was there) Also, I'm also going to ref realistically too as well...Anyways, TLR Begin!

Mysterious Cove - Brush Aside

You eye the cove, & with little knowledge of what's in store for you, you head towards Mysterious Cove.

However, before you can get there, you notice that at this point, the terrain is too rough to get directly into the cove, but to your left, you see a small forest, which while longer, obviously leads into the cove itself. It looked far more frendlier physically, so you decide that the best course of action to take is to venture into the forest. As soon as you start going through the forest in earnest, you hear a voice in your head.

"Be on the lookout." The voice advises you in your mind. "In places like this, the Pokemon are highly territorial. Don't be fooled by their youth, they are wily creatures."

As soon as the sentence finishes, two little critters, native to this forest, crawl out of a tree & notice you! Thinking you were an intruder, the two bugs pounce & attack you, forcing you to send in your three Pokemon! With the stage set, the battle would begin in earnest.

Mysterious Cove - Brush Aside

The battle opens with Breloom charging head-first into Ledyba, unsettling her a bit, but not knocking her off balance, as the Ledyba strikes back with some powerful manoeuvres, striking Breloom for some impressive damage, impressive for a lackey. Spiral Knight sees Ledyba as a threat, & attacks the Ledyba by flinging rocks at the Ledyba, putting a sizeable dent in Ledyba. Nincada then continues the attack on Breloom, knocking him off balance with a lightning-quick slash, & Bronzong then calls forth the intense Gravity, sending Ledyba & Bronzong itself plummeting to the ground.

Breloom takes advantage of the increase in intensity by sending a barrage of rocks on the heads of the foes, dealing heaps to Ledyba, & making her lose balance, cringing as a result. Spiral Knight then douses Nincada with a powerful jet of water, using water from his own body, while Nincada responds to the attacks with powerful vibrations which unsettle your team. Capping off the round, Bronzong sends another barrage of rocks the lackey's way, knocking out Ledyba & dealing more damage to Nincada.

With the round gome, only one Lackey remains. Can you kill it before it deals too much damage? Issue your actions.

THE GRAVITY IS INTENSE...(3r)

Mysterious Cove - Brush Aside

Lloyd opens the battle with a powerful, lightning-quick slash, which knocks the Ledyba back a bit, while Emile strikes Ledyba with a powerful fist of ice. Barry then envelops himself in a wheel of fire & cartwheels towards Ledyba, dousing him in flames & dealing damage, as the lackeys strike back. Ledyba makes a horrible buzzing nose which unsettles Emile, & Nincada causes powerful vibrations which unsettle your team.

Lloyd then turns on Nincada slashing her with a powerful, cross-shaped attack, while Emile knocks Ledyba out with another powerful fist of ice. Barry does another fiery cartwheel at the Ledyba, not realising he had already fainted, & the Nincada caps off the round by biting Emile, dealing more damage.

Round gone, & one lackey remains. Your NFE's seem to be holding well, can you keep it up? Issue your actions.

Mysterious Cove - Spider Vein

Walking deeper into the forest, you notice everything was getting darker & darker, & you get the feeling that there were bugs watching you left, right, & centre. There is a lot of webbing around the area, as if this was a spider domain, but eventually, you come across a tree containing three, ripe Oran Berries, & seemingly, there's nothing around it. The Oran Berries look ready to be plucked, & you know that these supplies could help along the way.

"Ooh, looks like you've come across a Roleplaying Scenario..." A voice says to you in your head. "You need to be careful, as each action may come with consequences..."

Nevertheless, you are forced to weigh your options up. What shall you do?

a) Grab the Oran Berries.
b) Continue through the forest.

Doing what so many users have done before you, you decide to pick the Oran Berries, & just like that, you get 3 Oran Berries & plop them straight into your bag. Looking around, you do a head count of your Pokemon, only to find that Nincada is missing! You look up & see your beloved Pokemon trapped in a web as it's flung away, while the Pokemon thief, who turns out to be a Spinarak, laughs & takes your Pokemon deep into the forest. It is going to take you two rounds to find the little menace. Meanwhile, Spinarak Hones in Claws and looks at your trapped Pokemon as if it is a delicacy...

A voice speaks to you and says "It looks like one of your Pokemon fell into a trap. It will have to work hard to fend it off, the Pokemon that lay in wait are perhaps the most devious of all. Remain calm and you should be able to keep your wits about you." Easy enough, right?

In short, your Pokemon relentlessly pound the Spinarak & eventually kill it, but Spinarak didn't go down without a fight, dealing a lot of damage to Lloyd! Nevertheless, you win the fight & pick up nothing...Then you decide to continue on, deeper into the forest...

Yup, you abuse Spinarak's dumb actionset to get some free recovery. If only Bronzong wasn't so heavy...Anyways, Issue your actions.

Mysterious Cove - Fish, Maw

Continuing through the forest, you wonder when all this forest is going to end. Soon enough, you see what appears to be "light at the end of the tunnel" & you rush to the exit. It was indeed, the end of the forest! Where you are situated now, is the mouth of the Mysterious Cove itself. It appears to be low tide, as two rock paths barely sticking up out of the water are the only way in. Their winding nature makes them look like long whiskers. Looking closely at the water, you can tell it is slightly illuminated, though you don't know why. At this point, you spot 3 Tynamo, & they spot you. Thinking you are an intruder, the three wild Pokemon attack you, forcing you to send in your Pokemon.

"Welcome to a nest. What these Pokemon lack in strength they make up for in numbers. Plan carefully." A voice in your head advises you. "If you're not careful, they can deal a lot of damage..."

And with that, you stare into the nest, & the battle was on.
