XY OU the new meta

Hello guys, Smog Frog here with another RMT

snake (Charizard) @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Atk / 216 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Roost
- Dragon Claw
- Flare Blitz
- Earthquake
(not my set, thanks Jukain)
DD Zard X is mediocre in this meta. I'm gonna say it bluntly. About 50% of all teams are a variant of sand offense, which just destroys it. Scarf Keldeo, Lando-T, Terrakion, Azumarill, Thundurus, Heatran, and others make it just to much a chore to set it up for a sweep. So Jukain innovated this set, and I must say, it is amazing. Basically a physically based wall breaker immune to burns, built in LO without recoil, and not a large amount of notoriety. So when you reveal Roost, people switch in Heatran/Azumarill, and proceed to get buttfucked by an Earthquake. It still has counters, but it is an amazing wall breaker that can provide a great amount of defensive synergy with its typing and Roost. It is also a great partner for...

SNAAAAAAAAKE (Gyarados) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 88 HP / 192 Atk / 4 Def / 224 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Bounce
SubDD Gyarados! SubDD Gyarados is amazing in tandem with Jukain's Zard X set. Basically, it removes a lot, if not all, of its checks, and can then set up a sub and DD to victory. Sub+DD are what this set is based on, and Waterfall+Bounce form my coverage. Bounce in particular is good because it stalls time for Leftovers recovery which allows it to set up more subs. Bounce also has a nifty paralysis chance, so it can hax its way for another sub turn. Bulkier spread allows for more setup chances.

snake (Gengar) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 29 HP
- Substitute
- Pain Split
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
SubSplit Gengar is love. SubSplit Gengar takes life. Basically, switch in on defensive mons with your typing and immunities, set up a sub, and slowly bring them to their knees. If teams are made up of these defensive mons, it can bring these entire teams to their knees. 29 HP IVs are a Life Orb number, so you don't take as much LO recoil. Sub so you can reduce your HP so you can deal damage and heal back up with Pain Split. I chose it for this team because it has great synergy with wall breakers and sweepers and because it's a rare set in this metagame and has a great matchup against both offense and stall. Since stall is using Reflect Type Starmie for hazard removal now, it blocks that set since uninvested Scald isn't doing major damage to Gengar, so it spin blocks the preferred hazard remover on stall.

snake (Keldeo) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power [Electric]
My "oh shit" button. If the pressure this team exerts isn't enough to stop a sweeper from setting up, this guy swoops in and eliminates the threat. Hydro Pump is the main move, as it is strong and powerful and has the necessary power to stop sweepers. Scald because Scald is hot water and hot water can inflict burns. Secret Sword because it stops those Mega TTar. HP Electric bops cheeky Gyaras that think they can set up but in fact wind up dead. It's the glue for this team, and a good one at that. If I didn't have this guy, Greninja just cleans house.

snake (Heatran) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 28 HP / 252 SpA / 228 Spe
Modest Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Fire Blast
- Flash Cannon
- Earth Power
After further testing, this team gets raped by lati. This is a perfect replacement for lando because A: sex type and B: it can fuck over latis. the grammar may be a bit different because its early in the morning but trust me, its a better choice than lando. really not much to say :S also flash cannon because MAWILITE HAS FUCKED OFF THE OU TIER

snake (Latias) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Healing Wish
- Defog

Functions as secondary glue. Can heal something up if it gets into a sticky situation, Defogs rocks away so Zard X/Gyara can swoop in and break shit, and can check most OU fighting types. It allows this team to exert pressure because the opposing team has to face one of these monster wall breakers again, while taking Draco Meteors in the meantime. Like Landorus, there isn't much to say.
