The Next Best Thing, LC Edition

Very close vote once again! Our winning set belongs to blarajan. I'll edit it into the OP shortly; congratulations!

Next up is a favorite of mine, known for its annoying support sets;

Cottonee has a pretty wide support movepool, and access to Prankster means it can use all of its tools pretty easily and force a lot of switches. I look forward to seeing what kinds of sets you guys come up with!

Cottonee @ Choice Specs
Ability: Prankster
Level: 5
EVs: 224 SAtk / 116 Def / 40 SDef / 116 HP
Modest Nature
- Switcheroo
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Dazzling Gleam
- Memento

Common switch-ins to cottonee include Pawniard, Fletchling, Foongus, Croagunk, Doduo, Ferroseed - all of which would hate Choice Specs.
Also acts as a 1 time encore for shit and still stops set-up sweepers being effective.
HP Ground hits Mag and Ponyta, who might not mind specs and trubbish who has sticky hold.
Memento when you have no more use for it anymore.
You don't even have to trick specs away if you don't want check out these calcs
224+ SpA Choice Specs Cottonee Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Fletchling: 18-22 (85.7 - 104.7%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO - you can calc with a more defensive spread i guess idk what is standard, but still probs KOs with rocks or something
224+ SpA Choice Specs Cottonee Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 36 SpD Pawniard: 16-21 (76.1 - 100%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO (scarf)
224+ SpA Choice Specs Cottonee Dazzling Gleam vs. 212 HP / 116 SpD Eviolite Croagunk: 10-13 (41.6 - 54.1%) -- 56.3% chance to 2HKO (outspeeds most Gunks)

Cottonee @ Heat Rock
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 116 HP / 196 Def / 196 SpD
Impish Nature
- Encore
- Knock Off / Dazzling Gleam
- Sunny Day
- Memento

This variant of Cottonee is purely for supporting sun teams. Prankster Sunny Day is nearly impossible to stop and can support a sun team for 7 turns with a Heat Rock attached. It's defenses are a little lower without Eviolite, so it must be used carefully in order to utilize it to its potential. Encore punishes attempts of opponents to set up, while Knock Off removes some items, although Dazzling Gleam can be run also. Memento can be used when you're low on health to give your sun team a safe switch in.

Cottonee @Eviolite
Ability: Prankster
Level: 5
EVs: 36 HP / 116 Def / 144 SAtk / 196 SDef
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Dazzling Gleam
- Knock Off
- Encore

Knock Off Cottonee is the new meta is a move that has become a huge part of LC. It allows for walls to be taken out much easier, and it also serves as a way to slightly weaken opposing sweepers as well. Common users include Pawniard, Mienfoo, and Croagunk. However, outside of these pokemon, not much else uses Knock Off on a regular basis. Cottonee doesn't have a fourth fourth move alongside Giga Drain, Dazzling Gleam, and Encore that it absolutly needs to run, as Hidden Power Fighting (for Pawniard) can be used by another teammate or fighting type, and with so many Pawniards having Scarfs nowadays it can't even use HP Fighting without being killed by Iron Head. So why not make this fourth move Knock Off? Sure, it will barely do any damage. However, the sole purpose of the move on thi set is to knock off the opponent's item, not do damage. Some of the common switch ins to Cottonee are Croagunk, Magnemite, and Foongus. None of these pokemon want their valuable Eviolites or Choice Scarfs being knocked off, as it will greatly reduce their function later in the battle. Foongus is a great tank with Regenerator, but with it's eviolite knocked off it tank anywhere near as well. Croagunk has a similar issue in that it is not very bulky even with the Eviolite, so without it it's job is heavily compromised. Knock Off is a move that has been a huge part of the meta, and Cottonee can help wreak havoc with it too.

Cottonee @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
Level: 5
EVs: 232 Spd / 224 SAtk / 40 Def
Timid Nature
IVs: 30 Def / 30 SAtk / 30 SDef / 30 Spd / 0 HP
- Giga Drain
- Dazzling Gleam
- Hidden Power [Fighting]/Hidden Power [Ground]
- Encore/Memento/Substitute/Tailwind

Ok this is a set I randomly tried and although slightly gimmicky, it was very fun to watch people cringe at the sight of Offensive Cottonee. And Cottonee also reaches the coveted LO number in LC HP wise (19). Giga Drain and Dazzling Gleam are obv. STABs. HP Fighting for Pawn, which unfortunately outspeeds with Scarf but can do decent damage on switch. HP Ground allows you to hit Magnemite and kill after rocks. With HP Ground, you can also hit the Poison- types that plague Cottonee. The last slot is up to 4 moves. Encore is to stop set up sweepers, allowing Cottonee to hit a switch in hard with one of its offensive moves. Memento, however, serves the offensive utility it always does and allows other partners to set up such as Weak Armor NP Vullaby, DD Scrags, etc. Substitute is to ease prediction and hopefully beat Pawn 1v1 (after it switches in). Tailwind is a bit gimmicky but right before it dies it can allow another poke to come in and clean the damage LO Cottonee does.

Some calcs...

224 SpA Life Orb Cottonee Hidden Power Fighting vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Pawniard: 31-42 (147.6 - 200%) -- guaranteed OHKO
224 SpA Life Orb Cottonee Giga Drain vs. 244 HP / 156 SpD Eviolite Solid Rock Tirtouga: 27-35 (108 - 140%) -- guaranteed OHKO
224 SpA Life Orb Cottonee Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 60 SpD Eviolite Scraggy: 31-36 (147.6 - 171.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
224 SpA Life Orb Cottonee Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mienfoo: 26-34 (123.8 - 161.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO (Evio is gonna take a 2HKO but this is Scarf/LO set)
224 SpA Life Orb Cottonee Hidden Power Ground vs. 212 HP / 116 SpD Eviolite Croagunk: 10-13 (41.6 - 54.1%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO
224 SpA Life Orb Cottonee Hidden Power Ground vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Magnemite: 26-36 (136.8 - 189.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO (Kills after Rocks)

This set does however have some trouble with Missy and Pawn (if it can't hit it on the switch) but hazards and prior damage should take Missy. Croagunk, and other Poison- types, is the bane of this, and any, Cottonee's existence, resisting her STABs and hitting her with a 4x SE move.

I have only been playing LC for about 2 weeks but I hope this gets some votes, lol :)

Cottonee @ Eviolite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 196 Def / 196 SDef / 116 Spd
Bold Nature
- Encore
- Memento
- Stun Spore
- Tailwind

This set focuses on Force Switching the opponent's pokemon. Perfect combination for Hazard setters and/or Boost setters.
Encore locks the opposing pokemon into one move(Which is better than ChoiceSwitcheroo because of the first turn lock by Choice items giving selection instead of using Switcheroo at first.)
Prankster Memento for reducing the opposing mon's Attack/Special Attack both by two stages. Counters boosted Shell Smash user, or gives enough time to set up for your team.
Stun Spore makes the opponent's mon crippled to gain advantage for your other mon to attack first.
And finally, Tailwind. Tailwind gives enough speed for your mons to out speed most LC threats like Misdreavus.

NOTHING IS SAFE FROM COTTONORB.

224+ SpA Life Orb Cottonee Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 36 SpD Pawniard: 16-19 (76.1 - 90.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
224+ SpA Life Orb Cottonee Tri Attack vs. 0 HP / 36 SpD Pawniard: 5-6 (23.8 - 28.5%)
224+ SpA Life Orb Cottonee Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 196 SpD Eviolite Mienfoo: 18-23 (85.7 - 109.5%)
224+ SpA Life Orb Cottonee Tri Attack vs. 0 HP / 196 SpD Eviolite Mienfoo: 6-8 (28.5 - 38%)

But no seriously, Nature Power is pretty much a special version of Extremespeed. You can't really get enough priority in this metagame, so it's actually pretty cool right now. HP IVs gives it the magical 19, while still retaining Hidden Power type and strength. Modest still hits the 16 speed tier, allowing you to out speed Fletchling and shit, which is pretty handy. This is one of the few sets that can also check shit like Abra. On offensive sets, Encore isn't really that good when you don't want to take too many hits.

Timid Nature
IVs: 0 HP

- Nature Power
- Memento
- Dazzling Gleam/Giga Drain

K so. This set is made to abuse Endeavor and priority attacking. With no bulk and minimal investment in HP IV's, most hits should bring you down to sash, provided it is intact. Once you Endeavor, you can use Nature Power as a +1 priority tri attack to kill. Memento lets you reduce the threat of the pokemon that comes in after, and Dazzling Gleam offers some solid STAB. Giga Drain can be used, but you're trying to die, and thus the HP regain is counter-intuitive. Timid Nature lets this set come in after a slow VoltTurn or after a pokemon is fainted and defeat Fletchling; however, 17 Spd is decent, and you may be using Endeavor before you actually lose health. A Modest Nature could replace this, letting you speed tie max Spd Fletch and get a stronger Dazzling Gleam or Giga Drain.
