AV + Future Sight Reun

would have voted for Signal Beam, since that's a genuinely interesting innovation, but (with respect to ben) I don't think Specs should win. I've used it before and it's just too slow / lacking in resistances and bulk to be effective, besides being Pursuit bait
I forget to put on the Intro to not vote for yourself, so yeah you could vote for Signal Beam anyway. Sorry 'bout that...

The Winner for Week 15 goes to Bendivings Choice Specs Reuniclus! Congratulations for entering the Hall of Fame!

The Pokemon for Week 16 goes to Shaymin!

When I was trying to find a Pokemon to use in The Next Best Thing, I stumbled upon Shaymin being C- on the Viablity Rankings. So I decided to check it's set for the OU Smogdex and there are no sets. So this week you can have the freedom of being creative. I'll start voting on January 1st aka 2016, so see you then :]

Tailwind + Healing Wish sounds alright but got to go with...

Physically Defensive

Shaymin @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Aromatherapy
- Giga Drain / Seed Flare
- Leech Seed / Hidden Power Fire
- Protect / Rest

Decent team support set; Aromatherapy, good physical bulk and Natural Cure (with some critical type neutralities compared to Celebi) give it a small niche in OU. A physically defensive spread makes the most out of its ability to handle M-Gyara, Lando-T, Azumarill, Keldeo and so on:

252 SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Shaymin: 150-177 (37.2 - 43.9%) -- 99.8% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Mold Breaker Mega Gyarados Crunch vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Shaymin: 118-139 (29.2 - 34.4%) -- 99.7% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Life Orb Bisharp Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Shaymin: 160-188 (39.7 - 46.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Landorus-T U-turn vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Shaymin: 120-142 (29.7 - 35.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Play Rough vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Shaymin: 193-228 (47.8 - 56.5%) -- 30.5% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Aromatherapy is the crux of the set, but there are two main paths for the remaining moveslots - Giga Drain / Leech Seed / Protect, or Seed Flare / HP Fire / Rest. The former can be difficult for some offensive teams to handle, allowing Shaymin to 1v1 the likes of M-Metagross and standard M-Lopunny, while the latter is less of a liability against bulkier teams.

Assault Vest Shaymin

Shaymin @ Assault Vest
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Seed Flare
- Giga Drain
- Dazzling Gleam
- Earth Power

General idea: this is a bulky special attacker which uses AV instead of a Life Orb to preserve its bulk and running a Choice item ruins its ability to switch move after that nice 34% chance (taking in account the accuracy of Seed Flare) to drop the SpD such emulating a Nasty Plot (nice towards Unaware users). Giga Drain is there to preserve its health and there are two other coverage moves.

EVs spread: Max HP to make Shaymin bulky on both sides of the spectrum; max SpA + an enhancing nature to hit enough hard even without a Life Otb.

Shaymin @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Healing Wish

Basically works like Scarf Celebi, but trades Psychic STAB, U-Turn and a fighting resistance with a much better grass STAB and a Dark neutrality. And much like Scarf Celebi, it acts as a revenge killer that can switch into Ground- and Water- types.

Sash Shaymin

Shaymin @ Focus Sash
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe (252 Attack over 252 SpA if u have Quick Attack)
Timid/Jolly(If u have quick attack) Nature
- Tailwind
- Toxic/Seed Flare/ Quick Attack
- Healing Wish
- Endeavor

So Dis set is pretty cash. The whole idea is dat Shaymin allows the hard hitting mons in the back of ur party to come in and hit hard while being fast like Hoopa-U, Kyurem-Black,Mega Medicham, etc.Endeavor helps cripple down mons which then u can attack with quick attack or seed flare or throw a toxic. Healing Wish is basically like the explosion or memento which keeps momentum but also heals a mon to full.

Shaymin @ Choice Specs
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 12 Def / 252 SpA / 244 Spe
Modest Nature
- Seed Flare
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Earth Power
- Psychic (-> M-Venu / Gengar) / Dazzling Gleam (-> Lati@s / M-Altaria) / Healing Wish

SubSeed Shaymin

Shaymin @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leech Seed
- Seed Flare
- Substitute
- Earth Power / HP [Fire] / Psychic / Air Slash / Dazzling Gleam

The aim of this set is to force switches and whittle down walls so it works best on spike stack. Leech seed surprises a normal switchin such as Skarmory or Talonflame and provides chip damage and passive recovery. Seed flare is powerful STAB and the SpD drops can be pretty cash, which is the main reason to use Shaymin over other SubSeeders. The combination of these 2 moves plus substitute mean you can force plenty of switches and wear down your normal checks and walls throughout the match.

The final slot is completely versatile and team dependant. Earth power is probably the best option which nails steels such as Heatran while HP fire is for Scizor, Ferrothorn and Skarmory although it lacks a lot power without life orb. All of the other options leave you walled by steels but Psychic gets poison and fighting types such as M-Venu and M-Lop if you're behind a sub, air slash hits the same targets for slightly less power but the flinch chance is really nice, and dazzling gleam is for darks and dragons such as M-Sab and Latios.

Shaymin @ Watmel Berry
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Seed Bomb
- Natural Gift
- Zen Headbutt
- Swords Dance

A decent lure that can dispatch of Ferrothorn and Scizor or severely weaken Mega Venusaur and Tentacruel in a pinch:
+2 252 Atk Watmel Berry Shaymin Natural Gift (100 BP Fire) vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn: 488-576 (138.6 - 163.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 Atk Watmel Berry Shaymin Natural Gift (100 BP Fire) vs. 248 HP / 0+ Def Mega Scizor: 496-584 (144.6 - 170.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 Atk Watmel Berry Shaymin Natural Gift (100 BP Fire) vs. 252 HP / 156+ Def Celebi: 284-336 (70.2 - 83.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Watmel Berry Shaymin Natural Gift (100 BP Fire) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 206-244 (61.6 - 73%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Shaymin Zen Headbutt vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Mega Venusaur: 182-216 (50 - 59.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 Atk Shaymin Zen Headbutt vs. 224 HP / 252+ Def Tentacruel: 274-324 (76.7 - 90.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

Infernal

Banned deucer.

Shaymin @ Wide Lens
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Grass Whistle
- Seed Flare
- Hidden Power Fire
- Psychic

There aren't too many options left, but here's my try. This works similar to Hypnosis Politoed, who periodically uses the move in an attempt to sleep common switch ins like Rotom-W, Ferrothorn, and Mega Venusaur. In Shaymin's case, Grass Whistle can catch the likes of Talonflame, Tornadus-T, and Heatran on the switch, three Pokemon otherwise coming in for free. Even with Wide Lens, Grass Whistle's accuracy is still disappointing, reaching only 60% like Hypnosis. While that's not reliable, it's a small improvement and can work in your favor with some good fortune, potentially proving clutch in certain situations if you're a risk taker. This aside, Wide Lens also increases Seed Flare's accuracy, decreasing the likelihood of missing here and there. I chose Psychic and HP Fire mainly to cover things resisting Seed Flare and immune to Grass Whistle, like Mega Venusaur, Ferrothorn, and Amoonguss.

Growth Shaymin

Shaymin @ Miracle Seed / Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Growth
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power
- Synthesis / Hidden Power Fire / Hidden Power Ice / Hidden Power Rock / Psychic

Growth boosts Shaymin's damage output, letting it beat common walls like Chansey, Clefable and Mega Sableye lacking Foul Play. Earth Power is chosen as the primary coverage move to avoid being walled by Heatran.

Synthesis allows Shaymin to consistently set up on certain foes, but it can be replaced by one of three Hidden Power variants or Psychic if necessary.

An EV spread of 160 HP / 160 SpA / 188 Spe can be used to allow Shaymin to survive Mega Sableye's Foul Play at +6, but the drop in power is noticeable.

SD Shaymin

Shaymin @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly/Naive Nature
- Swords Dance
- Seed Bomb
- Quick Attack
- Rest/Earth Power

Because there aren't many options left for Shaymin, I created this set. Usually, Shaymin runs a special attacking set, but this, is a physical attacking set that is heat. Swords Dance paired up with Quick Attack isn't too destructive, but it can surprise offense. After one Swords Dance, you can eliminate threats such as Mega Medicham, or Latios as long as they are low in HP. Seed Bomb is the primary STAB that Shaymin uses, and Rest is pretty cool with this set since you can 1v1 pokemon like Chansey by stalling them out and setting up on them. If you don't want to get walled by steel types, you can run a mixed set with Earth Power. This set is nowhere near amazing (more like the Next Worst Thing)..., but it's the best I could think of and well, CTC, you've got something coming your way.
