Abra @ Focus Sash / Life Orb
Level: 5
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 240 SpA / 200 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam
- Hidden Power Fighting
- Taunt / Magic Coat
Only defensive mons can actually switch in on Abra safely, and note how they get all easily stopped with Taunt due not to being able to use its recovery moves and yellow magick. Examples include Porygon, Lickitung and Slowpoke. Either Taunt or Magic Coat can be used if you want a very effective and speedy anti-lead; Taunt is prefered if you want more consistance and safety, while Magic Coat is good against dedicated leads, granting you the hazards on the opp field ez, but requires more thought when using it.
the amazing restalk sashcycle set. Just switch in and click psychic, if sash is broken/used use rest then proceed by clicking "Sleep Talk" and the only counter to this set is users who are bulky enough to beat it or dark types.
With Choice Specs, Abra hits barely harder than its Life Orb set (Choice Specs guarantees a few very minor rolls against spritzee and porygon, etc, that LObra has). The point of trick is to cripple mons that could switch in (especially if the opponent thinks your abra has a Focus Sash). Choose Energy Ball or D-gleam depending on the coverage you want
Specs Abra is not very fantastic: I still prefer the ability as a crutch that Sashbra provides, and the choice to switch moves freely with LObra-- but it has some niche- somewhere.
thing about experimenting with Abra is that it's already amazing at what it does and trying to slot in innovative moves and items for very particular niches just smears Abra's already clearly defined niche(s). and it doesn't really slot into anything normally covered by other mons (apart from maybe the tauntbra). cookie cut that sentence for a lot of high ranked mons in LC, but at least there's some wiggle room for stuff like foo (seriously, nobody uses facade yet scald and WoW and ponyta and larvesta are everywhere lol). but anyways!
Torment abra is really good. Protect is useful to scout sucker punch and torment it, and after that you can click HP fight without losing the sash. It is also useful to beat scarf Gothita.
I used it 2 hours ago in the LC open and it worked against Gothita. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-lc-82950
In this set: substitute for sucker punchs or when mons like carvanha or torchic use protect (and more situations) and knock off for destroy walls.
Psyshic stab and hp fighting or dazzling gleam for coverages.

unless your opponent is using wynaut or munchlax knock off on LO is really bad, as it doesn't need it to break walls at all. Knock off is only good on sash.
Abra is a glass cannon, so it easily can be defeated by some super effective move. So, with its high speed and he's bs satk, it can pretty easily sweep a team with the weakness policy. It can be easily defeated by some priority, so, you can play things like Chinchou for fletchinder, timburr for pawniard etc...

I choose to play protect over an offensive move because of some fake out users who can kill Abra after his endure.
