Enter Suspect for B-Rank: Mienshao [コジョンド] If it's one word that can describe Mienshao, it has to be "Underrated". Coming straight out of UU, Mienshao really has potential to shine in the OU environment. In fact, Mienshao fits in quite well as Weatherless Offense is taking OU for a spin as of now. Equipped with a potent 125 Base Atk/95 Base SpA/105 Base Spe stat spread, a deadly Fighting STAB in the form of Hi-Jump Kick, access to U-Turn andcertain boosting moves, most notably Swords Dance, and two great abilities in the forms of Regenerator and Reckless, Mienshao really is capable of an offensive niche. Its basic playstyle revolves around abusing Regenerator. Switching in and out until it can find a kink in the opponent's armor to capitalize on, Mienshao should never be seen as an inferior Breloom or Terrakion. Players must realize that Mienshao is a deadly threat in his own respect and with some careful playing and support, Mienshao can really differentiate itself from the pool of Fighting Type Pokemon. Life Orb Abuse is the most popular method of using Mienshao thanks to Regenerator. With its above average 125 Base Attack, coupled with Life Orb, Mienshao will be doing something whether it be achieving a KO or shifting momentum in your favor with U-Turn. Choice Scarf is also viable as it can outspeed certain threats such as +1 Salamence and Volcarona. Choice Scarf is special from other Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Terrakion because Mienshao really could give less of a damn towards Stealth Rocks and Spikes, as switching out he'll recover 1/3 of his HP. Swords Dance is super deadly and it really capitalizes on punishing the opponent's mistake. If it can safely come in and set up an SD on an opponent's misplay, things that fail to outspeed or resist Life Orb High Jump Kick will be taking a hefty, if not an OHKO, amount of damage. So why should Mienshao be B-Rank? Well I have to admit it cannot dream of A-Rank because it's pretty damn frail (although it can survive a LO Technician Mach Punch from Breloom and KO back). Hi-Jump Kick is very risky because it can miss or a Ghost Switch-in will spell recoil for Mienshao However it really can fulfill a niche. Offensive pivoting is his middle name and late-game cleaning is his game. Mienshao is a true abuser of Regenerator and really can prove itself to be a deadly force. Looking at other offensive Pokemon that reside in Rank B, such as Tornadus, Alakazam, Kingdra, Gyarados and Lucario, Mienshao is truly capable of matching their level of play and therefore I think Mienshao has a shot at taking B-Rank.
