The Trickster's Gambit

Old pal Jayy and ever-surprising Phoenix have roped me into this place... it looks like a toy shop mixed with some arcane alternate dimension. Formerly-Skyla has brought a kangaroo with an overactive child, the fluffiest chinchilla I've ever seen in my life, and a zappy shrimp. Neat. Too bad Phoenix brought a jackal, an ancient ape totem, and Spooky Ghost Supreme. Seems that Kanga and Lucario are gonna be the big baddies to watch out for here.

Kangaskhan and Darmanitan take their positions on either side of the field, and gain some of the abilities of their opponents. Two small stuffed toys appear to guard the Pokemon, and with a flick of his wrist, Jayy's Kangaskhan Mega Evolves! The round begins with an Earthquake, completely ignoring the small ounce of protection gained by the substitute, and Darmanitan prepares for a grand escape and smacks the decoy out of the way. Fully exposed, Darmanitan takes a barrage of rocks to the face, and the enormous damage causes it to change to a defensive Zen Forme in order to survive! The ape totem then tries to throw out a wild punch, but misses its target, and takes another seismic attack directly. One last blast of kinetic energy finishes the round, but the Kangaskhan seems to be enjoying the enormous lead.
