Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
I'll update the HOF soon and I'll get the next team ready. Also, don't let other people affect your votes. There were 3 people who voted for the same 2 and then another 3 people who voted for the same 2 again with a repeat of the same voting happening for each trio, and I know some cores are really good, but I still would've liked it if voting was a little more spread out. Personally I would've gone with Mega Scizor (basically walls most of the team) and Serperior, since it outspeeds and destroys the team.
These two members exert an immense amount of pressure on the team. Mega Charizard X itself completely annhilates the team, being able to set up Scizor and Mega Alakazam and proceed to sweep. The only counterplay the team has for Mega Charizard X is Choice Scarf Landorus-T, though Mega Charizard X itself can break past it due to Jolly outspeeding Landorus-T at +1. Mamoswine patches that weakness up, with Ice Shard. It also has Freeze-Dry for bulky Water-types such as Azumarill and Slowbro that wall Mega Charizard X. All in all really threatening to this team.
Metagross @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rock Polish
- Meteor Mash
- Zen Headbutt
- Ice Punch
Talonflame
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Acrobatics
- Roost
- Bulk Up
- Will-O-Wisp
OK, Mega Metagross may not be as great as it was at the beginning of ORAS but the Rock Polish set wipes this team out once Scizor is out of the picture. Ice Punch allows Mega Metagross to defeat Garchomp and Landorus-T (as a bonus, RP Mega Meta is faster than Scarf Lando-T!) , paving the way for Talonflame to also sweep. Meanwhile Latios, Keldeo and Mega Alakazam all fall to Mega Metagross's STAB moves.
Talonflame obviously eats up Scizor for Mega Metagross while also being able to revenge kill weakened Mega Alakazam, Keldeo and Latios. Will-O-Wisp allows it to cripple Landorus-T and other switch-ins while the bulk allows it to take some Special hits such as Latios's Draco Meteor and Alakazam's non-STAB moves.
While Scarf Landorus-T can theoretically beat up this core, it will struggle to do so in practice because locking it into the wrong move (Stone Edge vs Talonflame, EQ vs Mega Meta) means conceding tons of momentum and potentially losing half the team.
EDIT: Changed the Talonflame set to take on Scizor and Latios better.
Weavile has a great matchup against this team, with Scizor being the only real answer to it. It outspeeds and OHKOs everything apart from Keldeo and that's where Aerial Ace comes in. Aerial Ace Weavile is a really cool lure that pretty much beats Keldeo after the first Knock Off, assuming Rocks are up. Magnezone traps the Steel types that can wall Weavile, especially Scizor. The most threatening mon on this team to the core is definitely Alakazam after it has mega evolved as it outspeeds both mons and takes an Ice Shard from Weavile. Fortunately it needs to hit Focus Blast twice to beat the core :O
Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Knock Off

Manectric @ Manectite
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunderbolt
Individually, both Talonflame and Manectric are able to destroy a large part of the team : Talonflame kills in one hit Alakazam, Latios and Keldeo and 2HKOs the others, becoming an important threat for the team. Also, due to the lack of flying resis, the opposing team has absolutely no switch-in or no way to prevent Talonflame from spamming Brave Bird.
Manectric also OHKOs half of the opposing team thanks to its large movepool, moreover the two pokemons immune to Manectric's stab get severely damaged by HP ice.
Together, Talon and Manec are basically a huge threat for the team. The volturn core they form together make them easily join the field, Manectric using Volt Switch on Alakazam, Scizor or Latios allows Talonflame to come and automatically do a kill with Brave Bird, Likewise switching into Garchomp or Landorus-T is extremely dangerous for the opponent because the first gets 2HKO'ed by HP Ice and the second is the only way to hurt the core.
- The team hasn't any switch-in to Talonflame, thanks to Manectric's volt switch, it can join the field easier and make serious damages. that hp fire keldeo
These 2 are a big threat to the team. After 1 Ddance zard x can sweep through most of them apart from lando-t which thundy-t checks. Flare Blitz and Dragon claw break through the team. As well as HP ice and tbolt support from thundy.
Thundurus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch
- Dark Pulse
Both of them are able to destroy almost all that team.
With an only dance, altaria wrecks keldeo, latios, garchomp, wins the 1v1 vs lando, resist 1 hit from alakazam and ko with return.
Then talonflame is able to come into scizor's bullet punch and by clicking sd just wins the game, being able to ohko 88% of the time landorus after stealth rock and ohkoing all the rest. It can easily setup on scizor locked on bp used to kill altaria.
Sets:
Hoopa-U's purpose in this core is to KO Clefable with Gunk Shot and Ferrothorn with Fire Punch, as they both prevent Manaphy from sweeping. It also pressures Zard X from coming in and threatens to KO Jellicent with Hyperspace Fury. As those three moves basically covered what it needed to, I added Grass Knot, as even with a hindering nature it still 2HKO's Hippo. Adamant because it still won't outspeed Zard X with Jolly and wants more power.
Manaphy sweeps this team once Clef and Ferro are gone, being able to blow through Hippo, Jelli, and Mandibuzz after a boost. The coverage moves are chosen to beat them. Scald is used over Surf to wear down Clef more easily. Ice Beam in particular is very important, as it's one of this core's main ways of beating Mandibuzz, which otherwise checks Hoopa-U. Life orb guarantees the 2HKO without a boost. The speed Evs outrun Zard X by one point, while allowing for a little bulk in HP.
Lando-T is very useful for this core because it checks Zard X, which can set up a DD and win if
allowed to. It pressures Mandibuzz, a big threat, with Stone Edge, and can explode when it's weakened. Most importantly, Lando-T can get Hoopa-U and Manaphy inside safely with its U-Turns.

This team has a total of 0 switch-ins to this core. Charizard-Y litrally burns his way through this team with STAB Fire Blast + Solarbeam, with only Charizard-X standing in its way. Kyurem-B can also do heavy damage with it's solid repertoire of moves.

Mega Gallade outspeeds and OHKOes every single Pokemon on that team at +2 except Clefable, which it can 2HKO with Poison Jab, which is also Super Effective against the likes of Azumarill and Mega Altaria (and it OHKOes 248 HP / 136 Def Impish Mega Altaria at +2!!!).
Manaphy complements the core by being able to wear down Clefable with Rain-boosted Scalds (and cutting Fable's recovery) while also being threatening to the team in its own right because of Scald and Energy Ball, which only Ferrothorn resists. Ferrothorn also dislikes taking Scalds to the face and is set-up bait for Mega Gallade which destroys the team.
EDIT: Splash Plate is used to boost Scald's Power (which is what you will be clicking most of the time. It gives you a higher chance to 2HKO Fable, which is worth the 6% recovery per turn by Leftovers.
*surprise not much core 4 votes, weavile and alakazam together alone not including 4 other pokemon you would have on a team can OHKO most pokemon on the round 1 team after sr damage especially*
*Core 3 the two pokemon chosen both can cause trouble for this team perhaps different set for talonflame but can still get job done*
