Overview
########

Torterra's great STAB combination backed by a strong base 109 Attack stat allows it to hit most Pokemon in the tier for at least neutral damage. Torterra's typing is also good defensively, resisting the EdgeQuake combination and having an immunity to Electric. Torterra is very versatile, as it can effectively run a Choice Band set to wallbreak, a tank set to reliably set up Stealth Rock, and even a late-game Rock Polish sweeper. As a Stealth Rock user, Torterra has a great match-up against most opposing entry hazard setters, notably Rhydon, Seismitoad, Garbodor, and Crustle. Unfortunately, Torterra is weak to common Fire-, Flying-, and Ice-type moves, notable users of which include Magmortar, Archeops, and Cryogonal, respectively.

Choice Band
########
name: Choice Band
move 1: Wood Hammer
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Stone Edge
move 4: Crunch / Bullet Seed
ability: Overgrow
item: Choice Band
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant / Jolly

Moves
========

Wood Hammer is Torterra's most powerful Grass-type STAB move, and while its recoil can be crippling, its damage output is significantly greater than Seed Bomb's. Earthquake is Torterra's Ground-type STAB move, hitting Poison- and Fire-types that resist Wood Hammer, such as Garbodor and Typhlosion. Stone Edge hits Flying-types that resist Grass, such as Xatu and Rotom-S. Crunch hits Gourgeist and Exeggutor harder than any of Torterra's other attacks. Alternatively, Bullet Seed can be used to break through Sturdy users, such as Golem.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack investment and an Adamant nature are used to hit as hard as possible. Maximum Speed investment lets Torterra outspeed as many threats as possible, and a Jolly nature can also be used to outspeed Adamant Pawniard and Feraligatr. Overgrow is more useful than Shell Armor, as gaining a significant boost to Torterra's Grass-type moves in a pinch can be very helpful. Choice Band amplifies Torterra's Attack stat to incredible levels, greatly increasing its damage output.

Usage Tips
========

This set is best used as a wallbreaker, so one can use Torterra's defensive typing to switch it into resisted attacks. Earthquake is generally a safe attack to use if the opponent doesn't have a Flying-type or a Levitate user. Wood Hammer should be used more sparingly, as there are a significant number of Pokemon that resist Grass in the tier. Stone Edge should be used on a predicted Flying-type switch in, such as Xatu or Scyther. Crunch is best used to hit Gourgeist or Exeggutor on the switch, as they don't fear any of Torterra's other moves. Bullet Seed, while not often needed, should be used only as an anti-lead function against Sturdy users, such as Golem.

Team Options
========

Setup sweepers such as Feraligatr and Slurpuff are good partners to take advantage of this set's wallbreaking ability. A bulky Steel-type is helpful to cover Torterra's weakness to Ice- and Flying. Volt Switch and U-turn users, such as Lanturn and Liepard, are useful to bring Torterra in safely. Entry hazard support from the likes of Garbodor and Crustle are very useful in helping to wear down Torterra's switch-ins. Creating a Fire / Water / Grass core with Torterra is very beneficial, as the other Pokemon cover Torterra's weakness to Fire- and Ice. Lanturn is a good example, and other options include Kabutops, Pyroar, and Typhlosion. Assault Vest Hariyama is a great teammate that can also handle Fire- and Ice-types, but it unfortunately adds another a Flying-type weakness. Healing Wish support from the likes of Mesprit can give Torterra a second opportunity to punch holes in the opponent's team.

Tank
#########
name: Tank
move 1: Wood Hammer
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Stealth Rock
move 4: Synthesis
ability: Overgrow
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
nature: Adamant

Moves
========

Wood Hammer hits like a truck against anything that does not resist it and threatens most opposing entry hazard setters including Rhydon and Seismitoad. Earthquake hits Poison- and Fire-types that resist Wood Hammer, such as Qwilfish and Typhlosion. Stealth Rock is important on every team to wear down opposing Pokemon when they switch in, and Torterra finds many opportunities to set it up thanks to its good bulk and STAB move combination. Synthesis provides a reliable form of recovery, mitigating Wood Hammer recoil and any other damage Torterra might have taken.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP investment capitalizes on Torterra's respectable bulk and type resistances. Maximum Attack investment is used to hit as hard as possible. Alternatoveely, a physically defensive spread with an Impish nature can be used, but the lack of offensive presence is problematic.

Usage Tips
========

Thanks to Torterra's great STAB combination, it forces a decent amount of switches against opposing entry hazard users, allowing it to set up Stealth Rock. Synthesis should be used when Torterra is below 50% HP to recover HP when needed. However, it is sometimes possible to utilize Synthesis to gauge the damage of a foe's attack. If the foe fails to 2HKO Torterra, Torterra might be able to beat the foe one-on-one. Wood Hammer and Earthquake should be used to hit their appropriate targets. An opposing Pokemon immune to Ground-type attacks paired with a bulky Pokemon that resists Grass can force Torterra into unfavorable situations.

Team Options
========

Ghost-types, such as Mismagius and Rotom, can block Rapid Spin and keep Stealth Rock on the opponents side of the field. Defiant users, such as Pawniard and Primeape, are also good choices to deter foes from using Defog. Bulky Water- and Steel-types are helpful to cover Torterra's weaknesses to Ice, Fire, and Flying. Klinklang is a notable Steel-type that appreciates Stealth Rock to help it potentially sweep. Garbodor is a good partner to set up Spikes and Toxic Spikes alongside Torterra's Stealth Rock and, in return, Torterra can handle most Ground-types that threaten Garbodor.

Rock Polish
########
name: Rock Polish
move 1: Rock Polish
move 2: Wood Hammer
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Stone Edge
ability: Overgrow
item: Life Orb
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Jolly / Adamant

Moves
========

Rock Polish increases Torterra's subpar Speed to exceptional levels, allowing it to outspeed most of the unboosted tier. Backed by a Life Orb, Wood Hammer and Earthquake hit extremely hard while providing great coverage. Stone Edge is a great coverage move to hit Flying-types, such as Scyther, Rotom-S, and Xatu.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack investment is used to hit as hard as possible. A Jolly nature and maximum Speed investment are used to outspeed positive-natured Choice Scarf Sawk, Mesprit, and Rotom after a Rock Polish. However, an Adamant nature can be used for a boost in power. Life Orb greatly increases Torterra's damage output. Overgrow is more useful than Shell Armor, as it can be very helpful to get a boost to Wood Hammer in a pinch.

Usage Tips
========

Torterra should set up Rock Polish on Pokemon that it forces out, such as Seismitoad and Probopass. Don't try to sweep until Torterra's checks and counters have been weakened, as it will not be able to break through them. However, it might be wise to use Rock Polish early- to mid-game to put offensive pressure on the opponent, possibly clearing the way for another teammate to sweep or clean.

Team Options
========

Wallbreakers such as Choice Band Sawk or Choice Specs Typhlosion are a great help to this set, as they can ease Torterra's late-game sweep by wearing down bulky Grass-types. Entry hazard support from the likes of Crustle and Accelgor are important to wear down Torterra's checks and counters. Volt Switch or U-turn users, such as Lanturn and Liepard, are useful to bring Torterra in safely. Assault Vest Hariyama is a great teammate, as it can also handle Fire- and Ice-types; however, it adds another Flying-type weakness. Healing Wish support from the likes of Mesprit can give Torterra a second opportunity to sweep.

Other Options
########

Seed Bomb can be used over Wood Hammer for a less powerful Grass-type move without recoil. Swords Dance is an option to pressure more defensive teams, while Roar can be used with a defensive set to phaze out setup sweepers and rack up entry hazard damage. Toxic cripples the bulky Grass-types that Torterra struggles with. A Double Dance set with Swords Dance and Rock Polish can be used, but the lack of a coverage move is not optimal.

Checks & Counters
#########

**Grass-types**: Defensive Grass-types, such as Tangela and Gourgeist, can stomach hits from Torterra fairly well, and the latter only has to fear Crunch from the Choice Band set. Also, more offensive Grass-types, such as Lilligant and Sceptile, can check Torterra, as they resist both of its STAB moves and often carry Hidden Power Ice.

**Ice-types**: Ice-types, such as Cryogonal, Sneasel, and Piloswine, threaten to KO Torterra with their STAB moves but cannot switch in easily.

**Fire-types**: Many Fire-types, such as Typhlosion, Magmortar, and Pyroar, resist Wood Hammer and can easily KO Torterra with their respective STAB moves but cannot switch into Earthquake.

**Flying-types**: Flying-types, such as Scyther, Rotom-S, Xatu, and Vivillon, are immune to Earthquake and most resist Wood Hammer. However, they must watch out for Stone Edge on the switch.

**Weezing**: Unlike other Poison-types, Weezing not only resists Wood Hammer but is also immune to Earthquake thanks to Levitate and can cripple Torterra with Will-O-Wisp.

**Status**: Will-O-Wisp halves Torterra's Attack, rendering it useless, whearas poison puts a timer on Torterra's longevity.

On the band set, I think Superpower should either be slashed after Bullet Seed or removed. Yes, it 2HKOes Ferroseed, but Ferroseed can't do shit to Torterra regardless, so you can just hit it with Earthquake. Granted, Ferro gains one more turn (if that; EQ 2HKOes some of the time with rocks) to set up Spikes, but with hazard removal so easy in this metagame, that's not really a big deal. So unless Superpower gets any other KOes that Wood Hammer / EQ miss out on, Bullet Seed strikes me as much more useful. It strikes me that Gourgeist is one of the few mons that can take any of your attacks (unlike Ferroseed). Perhaps Crunch is worth a slash? If the set's purpose is wallbreaking, Crunch helps more than Superpower.

When mentioning Bullet Seed on the CB set (IMO slash it in after Crunch and remove Superpower) make special mentions of it KOing Golem and Sturdy Caracosta.

Crunch should only be used against Gourgeist-Small and maybe Super(Super isn't 2HKOed if it has Protect (if they don't run Protect they shouldn't run Gourgeist-Super)), Exeggutor, and that's pretty much it lol. Wood Hammer does more to every other Ghost-types (180bp>160bp from super effective Crunch). Fix that.

Overview has fluff and needs more work.

Why this spread for base 45s? Golem is really rare =/ I would personally just go with Max Speed.

Take the Superpower slash away. should only be in Moves. Put Bullet Seed there instead.

CB's Team Options ??? what is this

I really don't get the Tank's Moves section.. work on that.

The Tank's Set Details is meh too. I also made that spread while I was using it in August, and it might need to be changed as the tier changed a bit. Also Overgrow was needed on this set as it gave Torterra some important OHKO when brought to Overgrow range, so using Shell Armor with that spread will simply ruin the purpose of it.

Tank's Usage Tips needs more work too. The Team Options too..

Rock Polish:
Moves
========

- Wood Hammer hits Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types such as Seismitoad and Rhydon extremely hard.- Earthquake hits Steel- and Fire-types that resist its STAB attacks.
- Stone Edge hits Flying- and Bug-types that resist its dual STAB attacks.
- Rock Polish boosts Toreterra's Speed, allowing it to outspeed most of the unboosted tier.
Do you really need to tell us what its STABs hit? The readers aren't idiots; Who wouldn't know that Torterra's Grass-type STAB is used to OHKO Rhydon and Seismitoad? Also instead of naming the two types that resist Grass+Ground, why not name the relevant threats that resist that? Rock Polish mention needs more work too.

Set Details
========

- Max Speed can allow Torterra to get a +2 speed boost faster
What?

Usage Tips
========
  • Set up on something that torterra forces out, such as seismitoad
  • dont try and sweep until its checks and counters have been weakened, as between wood hammer and lo recoil it will die quickly
??? the reason is that Torterra wouldn't be able to break through all of them, not the recoil..

Team Options
========
  • physical wallbreakers are a great help to this set, as they can help torterra sweep late game
  • entry hazard support
=/

Checks & Counters
#########

**Bulky Grass types**: Ferroseed Tanks any hit well barring Superpower and Torterra is basically spikes setup fodder. tangela and gourgeist can easily switch in,
**Ice-type Attacks**: Torterra is incapable of taking Ice-types attacks, even if it doesn't get STAB.
**Fire-types**: Typhlosion, Magmortar, Rapidash, Pyroar; however, they must watch out for an Earthquake or Stone Edge
**Weezing**: resistant to Wood Hammer and immune to earthquake. Will-O-Wisp cripples Torterra.
  • Ferroseed can beat Torterra?
  • Earlier in the analyse you talk about how it can take Feraligatr's Ice Punch, and I am going to remind you that some Hidden
    Power Ice even fails to OHKO it.. and now you say it is incapable of taking these hits?
  • Rapidash?? and Fire-types are just checks.
  • Flying-types?
  • Maybe mention an actual Ice-type Pokemon?
  • Talk about how a Pokemon immune to Ground-types attack paired with a good Grass-type resist can easily force the Torterra user to do a bunch of 50/50s when it's the Choice Band set.
  • Add Toxic and Will-O-Wisp mentions.
  • STUFF.
Not gonna lie when I read this I had to check twice that it was not a WIP.

Overview
########
  • Great offensive stats and STAB combination coming off of 109 base attack, hitting most of the tier nuetrally neutrally*
  • Very respectable bulk with 95 / 105 / 85 defenses no need to mention the exact stats they will be just above the overview
  • Only limited coverage options, notably crunch and stone edge remove
  • Weak to common attacking types in the tier, mainly fire, flying, and ice types such as magmortar, cryogonal, and swellow flying isnt common
  • Faces competition for a grass type teamslot from the likes of vileplume, tangela, and sceptile it doesn't do the same things as them lol, so they don't faces competition. they all have different niches and can't accomplish the same things =/
  • Very slow, struggling against offensive teams it doesnt. its bulky enough to take atleast 1 or 2 hits against offensive teams if its the CB / Rock Polish variant and can easily get a kill or two. remove.
  • Resistant to stealth rock why would you mention that
talk about its unique typing and interesting resists
talk about how it has quite good matchup against entry hazard users.

Choice Band

move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Stone Edge
move 4: Crunch / Bullet Seed
ability: Overgrow
item: Choice Band
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant

Moves
========

  • Wood Hammer is the Grass STAB move of choice, while the recoil is crippling the damage is significantly greater than seed bomb.
  • Earthquake is the ground type stab that hits poison types which resist wood hammer fire-types man, and the STAB it will spam the most
  • Stone edge provides almost perfect nuetral coverage, hitting flying types such as xatu
  • Crunch hits gourgeist, which can switch in easily to all of torterras other attacks. add exeggutor
  • bullet seed is useful for breaking substitute users such as slurpuff or breaking the sturdy from the likes of golem and carracosta. slurpuff isnt a good exemple of a sub user in my opinion, and golem / stury carracosta are rare. keep golem only
  • Superpower is another option to hit ferroseed, but it cannot do much back to torterra besides setting up hazards. not even needed. torterra shits on seed with eq already and cant touch it. remove.

Set Details
========
  • maximum attack for hitting as hard as possible
  • Maximum speed evs to outspeed as much as possible
  • overgrow is the preferred ability because of how slow torterra is, as it will almost always have to take a hit before retaliating.
Explain why Choice Band is used
Usage Tips
========
  • This is mainly used as a wallbreaker, so use torterras decent typing to switch it in on resisted hits
  • Earthquake is generally a pretty safe move if the opponent doesnt have a levitating pokemon or a flying type.
  • Be wary of using wood hammer, as there are quite a few grass resists and the recoil will quickly wear torterra down
recoil is not rly an issue, and where's usage tips for crunch, bullet seed, and stone edge?..

Good Teammates
========
  • Setup sweepers such as feraligatr or slurpuff to take advantage of this sets wallbreaking ability
  • A bulky water or steel type to absorb ice type attacks, the former can also take fire hits while the latter can take flying attacks
  • Volt switch or u-turn users to bring in torterra safely, such as lanturn or liepard.
needs more.

move 3: Stealth Rock
move 4: Synthesis

Moves
========

  • Wood Hammer hits like a truck with maximum attack, threatening pokemon such as seismitoad and rhydon. i dont rly like this, just say that it s threatening against most Stealth Rock setter.
  • Earthquake is torterras ground-type STAB, and hits poison types such as garbodor that resist wood hammer. same as first set
  • Stealth rock is important to wear down the opponents team upon switch in, and torterra finds many opprotunities to set it up thanks to its good bulk and stab combination.
  • Synthesis provides a reliable form of recovery, mitigating wood hammer recoil.
Set Details
========
  • Maximum hp for good bulk, utilizing its good resistances and bulk.
  • Maximum attack to hit as hard as possible.
  • Alternatively, a physically defensive spread with an impish nature can be used, but the lack of offensive presence is problematic.

Usage Tips
========

  • Thanks to Torterras great STAB combination, it forces a decent amount of switches take advantage of these to set up stealth rock.
  • Sythesis should be used when torterra is below ~50% hp, allowing it to sustain its survivability. meh, sometimes you can scout sets by using synthesis to gauge the damage (if it fails to 2HKO, Torterra might be able to beat it 1v1) since its hard to straight up OHKO Torterra without a STAB Ice-type move. Don't do that against known hidden power users tho.
  • It is not as necessary to worry about the recoil from wood hammer too much, as leftovers and synthesis will help mitigate it. wood hammer's recoil isnt even that big of a deal 9.9
  • Wood hammer or earthquake should be used to hit their appropriate targets.
  • If the opponent has a pokemon immune to ground type attacks paired with a good grass resist can force torterra into unfavorable situations.
Team Options
========
  • Spinblockers such as rotom or mismagius can keep up the stealth rocks that torterra sets
  • Defiant users are also a good option to deter the use of defog, from the likes of primeape and pawniard
  • Bulky water or steel types to be able to switch in to ice and fire types which threaten torterra out
more. teammates. please.

Moves
========

  • Wood hammer and earthquake have great coverage, hitting most pokemon for nuetral damage.
  • Earthquake hits poison types such as garbodor that resist wood hammer, as well as hitting fire types such as pyroar.
  • Stone edge provides great coverage, hitting flying and bug types such as scyther, accelgor, and swellow. they both die to wood hammer lol, mention better exemples
  • Rock polish boosts torterras speed to great levels, allowing it to outspeed most of the unboosted tier.
Set Details
========

  • An adamant nature and max attack is to hit as hard as possible after a boost. However, jolly can be used to outspeed timid accelgor and jolly swellow after a boost.
  • A life orb is used to greatly increase torterras damage output, as it does not need the survivability of leftovers.
  • Overgrow is useful to get a harder hit off with wood hammer after it has been weakened, and shell armor is a bit too situational.

Usage Tips
========
  • Set up on something that torterra forces out, such as seismitoad or probopass.
  • dont try and sweep until its checks and counters have been weakened, as torterra will not be able to break through them.
  • Be sure that priority users such as sneasel are weakened, as they can stop torterra in its tracks. uh
sometimes it can boost early just to force in its checks to weaken them, so that teammates can do work. doesn't always happen though but dont just say 'dont try to sweep until everything is gone' because pmuch every pokemon can win games by doing that lol. needs work.

Team Options
========
  • physical wallbreakers such as choice band sawk or choice specs typhlosion are a great help to this set, as they can help torterra sweep late game by wearing down its checks and counters.
  • entry hazard support from the likes of crustle and accelgor are important to wear down the opposing team, aiding it torterras sweep.
  • Slow volt switch or u turn users such as lanturn or liepard bring in torterra safely.
MORE. TEAMMATES.

Other Options
########

-Seed Bomb: While It doesn't hurt as much as wood hammer, you avoid recoil.
-Leech Seed: Good supportive move, but torterra is too slow for it remove
-Swords Dance: A bit extra attack won't hurt
-Roar: Can phaze Flying types and setup sweepers
-Shell Armor eh remove
-Toxic can hit some defensive pokemon like tangela and gourgeist

Checks & Counters
#########

**Bulky Grass types**: Tangela and Gourgeist can stomach hits from torterra fairly well, and the latter only has to fear choice banded crunch. add other grass-types. even lilligant and sceptile can check torterra

**Ice-type Attacks**: Cryogonal, Sneasel, and Piloswine all threaten to KO Torterra with their STAB moves, but cannot switch in easily.

**Fire-types**: Typhlosion, Magmortar, and Pyroar can revenge kill a weakened Torterra, but cannot switch into Earthquake. weakened torterra? its ohkoed by strong STAB fire moves what are you saying

**Flying Types**: Swellow, Archeops, and Scyther can all deal massive damage to torterra while resisting its STAB combiantion. However, they must fear Stone edge. add rotom-s, and swellow + archeops both die to wood hammer so rewrite this

**Weezing**: Unlike other Poison-types, it is resistant to Wood Hammer and immune to Earthquake and can cripple torterra with Will-O-Wisp.

**Status**: Will-O-Wisp cripples Torterras attack, rendering it useless. Toxic puts a timer on its survivability.

Talk about how a Pokemon immune to Ground-types attack paired with a good Grass-type resist can easily force the Torterra user to do a bunch of 50/50s when it's the Choice Band set.

anyway, remove the line about clerics in CB's team options.same for the tank's team option: Torterra doesn't always need cleric support, and cleric support is always nice so its not rly needed to be mentionned

add garbodor in tank's team option as a spiker that works well with torterra

if you are going to mention healing wish support for rock polish set, might aswell talk about it with CB since Mesprit works well with Torterra as the SR setter

do all this, and 1/3

jolly should probably be the nature on rock polish to outspeed positive natured scarf sawk, mesprit, and rotom-a. it should also be a slash on the cb set to beat pawniard and some feragliatr that don't fully invest in speed, as well as other things that sit in that range

Kind of contradicting, and it wont "always" be outsped. 232 Speed with Jolly, / 211 with Adamant is fast enough to outspeed pretty much every wall you'd need to be breaking, as well as outspeeding max base 50's such as Golurk.

There's a lot of weird capitalization mistakes throughout, but it doesn't really matter for a QC check. The content itself looks pretty solid.

Change the above wording, and tag me. I'll take another look :]

Its actually a good thing you brought that up, I was gonna make note of it my first pass but totally forgot.
Remove it entirely. It doesn't add anything specific to Torterra's case, as any pokemon can be dealt with by 'proper switching'. Also its super awkwardly written :\

You have a lot of fluffy sentences that say nothing, like 252 Attack EVs are for "maximum power," I mean, it's obvious that those EVs are there for the maximum possible power. Is there anything that comes out of that, like outspeeding threats or getting certain KOs? It's the same deal, but arguably more important, with hazards/status. Unless there is something specific those things do, there isn't really any information conveyed when saying 'it likes SR so its checks and counters can be worn down.'

Overview
########

Torterra has a great STAB combination backed by strong offensive stats to hit most Pokemon in the tier for neutral damage. Torterra also has a very unique Grass- and Ground Grass / Ground typing defensively, resisting the EdgeQuake combination, as well as having an immunity to Electric-type attacks. Torterra is very versatile, as it can effectively use a Choice Band set to wallbreak, a tank set to reliably set up Stealth Rock, as well as a late-game Rock Polish sweeper. As a Stealth Rock user, Torterra has a great matchup against most opposing entry hazard setters such as Rhydon, Seismitoad, Garbodor, and Crustle. Unfortunately, Torterra is weak to common attacking types such as Fire-, Flying-, and Ice-types such as including (2 instances of "such as" in the same sentence.) Magmortar, Cryogonal, and Archeops.

Choice Band
########
name: Choice Band
move 1: Wood Hammer
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Stone Edge
move 4: Crunch / Bullet Seed
ability: Overgrow
item: Choice Band
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant / Jolly

Moves
========

Wood Hammer is Torterra's most powerful Grass-type STAB move, and while the recoil can be crippling, the damage output is significantly greater than Seed Bomb. Earthquake is Torterra's Ground-type STAB move, hitting Poison- and Fire-types such as Garbodor and Typhlosion who resist Wood Hammer. Stone Edge hits Flying-types such as Xatu and Rotom-S, both of which resist Torterra's STAB moves. Crunch hits Gourgeist and Exeggutor harder than any of Torterra's other attacks. Bullet Seed can be used to break Sturdy users such as Golem.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack investment and an Adamant nature is used to hit as hard as possible. Maximum Speed investment is to outspeed as many threats as possible. (This is all just fluff; it tells the reader nothing.) A Jolly nature is an option to outspeed Adamant Pawniard and Feraligatr. Overgrow is more useful than Shell Armor, as gaining a significant boost to Torterra's Grass-type moves in a pinch can be very helpful., and Choice Band amplifies Torterra's Attack stat to incredible levels, greatly increasing its damage output. (Again, lots of fluff.)

Usage Tips
========

This set is best used as a wallbreaker, so one can use Torterra's decent defensive typing to switch it in on resisted attacks. Earthquake is generally a safe attack to go for, if the opponent doesn't have a Flying-type or a Pokemon with Levitate user. Wood Hammer should be used more sparingly as there are a significant amount number of Pokemon that resist Grass-type moves in the tier, but it hits anything that does not resist it hard. Stone Edge should be used on a predicted switch to a Flying-type such as Xatu or Scyther. Crunch is best used to hit Gourgeist or Exeggutor on the switch, as they don't fear any of Torterra's other moves. Bullet Seed, while not often needed, should only be used as an anti-lead function against Studry users such as Golem.

Team Options
========

Setup sweepers such as Feraligatr or Slurpuff are good partners to take advantage of this set's wallbreaking ability. A bulky Steel-type is helpful to cover Torterra's weakness to Ice- and Flying-types. Volt Switch or U-turn users such as Lanturn and Liepard are useful to bring Torterra in safely. Entry hazard support from the likes of Garbodor and Crustle are very useful, wearing down Torterra's switch ins. (More fluff. It would be useful if you told us about possible OHKOs or 2HKOs Torterra gains after Rocks or Spikes.) Creating a Fire / Water / Grass core with Torterra is very beneficial to cover Torterra's weakness to Fire- and Ice-type attacks. The aforementioned Lanturn is a good example, and other options include Kabutops, Pyroar, and Typhlosion. Assault Vest Hariyama is a great teammate to who can also handle Fire- and Ice-types, but that does compound adds another Flying-type weakness. Healing Wish support from the likes of Mesprit can give Torterra a second opportunity to punch holes in the opponents team.

Tank

name: Tank
move 1: Wood Hammer
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Stealth Rock
move 4: Synthesis
ability: Overgrow
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
nature: Adamant

Moves
========

Wood Hammer hits like a truck against anything that does not resist it, and it also threatens most opposing entry hazard setters. (Such as?) Earthquake hits Poison- and Fire-types such as Qwilfish and Typhlosion which resist Wood Hammer. Stealth Rock is important on every team to wear down the opponent's team upon switch-in, and Torterra finds many opportunities to set it up thanks to its good bulk and STAB combination. Synthesis provides a reliable form of recovery, mitigating Wood Hammer recoil and other damage Torterra may have taken.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP investment is to capitalize on Torterra's respectable bulk and type resistances. Maximum Attack investment is to hit as hard as possible. Alternately, a physically defensive spread with an Impish nature can be used, but the lack of offensive presence is problematic. (These 3 sentences are really lackluster IMO because they tell us basically nothing. Are there certain attacks it can live, or KOs it can score with the spread? It should be obvious that a standard 252/252 spread is for "maximum bulk" and "maximum power.")

Usage Tips
========

Thanks to Torterra's great STAB combination, it forces a decent amount of switches agaisnt opposing entry hazard users, allowing it to set up Stealth Rock. Synthesis should be used when Torterra is below 50% HP to recover off damage when needed. However, it is sometimes possible in some cases to utilize Synthesis to gauge the damage of an opponent's attack. If they opponent fails to score a 2HKO Torterra, Torterra may be able to beat it on its own. Wood Hammer and Earthquake should be used to hit their appropriate targets. If the opponent has a Pokemon immune to Ground-type attacks paired with a good Grass-type resist, they can force Torterra into unfavorable situations.

Team Options
========

Ghost-types such as Mismagius and Rotom can block Rapid Spin to keep up the Stealth Rock up that Torterra sets. Defiant users such as Pawniard and Primeape are also good choices to deter the use of Defog. Bulky Water- or Steel-types are helpful to cover Torterra's weakness to Ice-, Fire-, and Flying-type attacks. Klinklang is a notable Steel-type teammate that appreciates the Stealth Rock set up by Torterra to help it potentially sweep. Garbodor is a good partner to set up Spikes and Toxic Spikes alongisde Torterra's Stealth Rock, and Torterra can handle most Ground-types that threaten Garbodor.

Rock Polish
########
name: Rock Polish
move 1: Rock Polish
move 2: Wood Hammer
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Stone Edge
ability: Overgrow
item: Life Orb
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Jolly / Adamant

Moves
========

Rock Polish increases Torterra's sub par subpar Speed to exceptional levels, allowing it to outspeed most of the unboosted tier. Backed by a Life Orb, Wood Hammer and Earthquake hit extremely hard whilst providing great coverage. Earthquake hits Poison- and Fire-types that resist Wood Hammer. Stone Edge is a great coverage moves to hit Flying-types such as Scyther, Rotom-S, and Xatu.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack investment is used to hit as hard as possible. A Jolly nature and maximum Speed investment is used to outspeed positive-natured (there's a hyphen) Choice Scarf Sawk, Mesprit, and Rotom after a Rock Polish. (<--This is much better, as it actually tells you what the nature does and not just the obvious "maximum speed.) However, an Adamant nature can be used for a significant boost in power. Life Orb greatly increases Torterra's damage output. Overgrow is more useful than Shell Armor, as it can be very helpful to gain a boost to Wood Hammer when in a pinch.

Usage Tips
========

Torterra should set up a Rock Polish on a Pokemon that it forces out, such as Seismitoad and or Probopass. Don't try to sweep until Torterra's checks and counters have been weakened, as it will not be able to break through them. However, it may be wise in some situations to use Rock Polish early- to or -mid-game in order to put offensive pressure on the opponent, possibly clearing the way for another teammate.

Team Options
========

Wallbreakers such as Choice Band Sawk or Choice Specs Typhlosion are a great help to this set, as they can help aid (just used "help.") Torterra's sweep late game by wearing down bulky Grass-types which are problematic for Torterra. Entry hazard support from the likes of Crustle and Accelgor are important to wear down Torterra's checks and counters. Volt Switch or U-turn users such as Lanturn and Liepard are useful to bring in Torterra safely. Assault Vest Hariyama is a great teammate to who can also handle Fire- and Ice-types, but that that does compound adds another does compound a Flying-type weakness. Healing Wish support from the likes of Mesprit can give Torterra a second opportunity to punch holes in the opponents team. (lol you literally just c/ped the last 3 lines from earlier)

Other Options
########

Seed Bomb can be used over Wood Hammer for a decently less powerful Grass-type move without recoil, but the difference in power is significant. Swords Dance is an option to pressure more defensive teams. Roar can be used with a defensive set to phasze out setup sweepers and rack up entry hazard damage. Toxic hits the bulky Grass-types that Torterra struggles with. A Double Dance set with Swords Dance and Rock Polish can be used, but the lack of a coverage move is not good optimal.

Checks & Counters
#########

**Grass-types**: Defensive Grass-types such as Tangela and Gourgeist can stomach hits from Torterra fairly well, and the latter only has to fear Crunch from the Choice Band set. Also, more offensive Grass-types such as Lilligant and Sceptile can check Torterra as they resist both of its STAB moves and often carry HP Ice.

**Ice-types**: Cryogonal, Sneasel, and Piloswine all threaten to KO Torterra with their STAB moves, but cannot switch in easily.

**Fire-types**: Typhlosion, Magmortar, and Pyroar resist Wood Hammer and can easily KO Torterra with their respective STAB moves, but cannot switch into Earthquake.

**Flying Types**: Scyther, Rotom-S, Xatu, and Vivillon are immune to Earthquake and resist Wood Hammer. However, they must fear a Stone Edge on the switch.

**Weezing**: Unlike other Poison-types, Weezing not only resists Wood Hammer, but and is immune to Earthquake as well thanks to Levitate and can cripple Torterra with Will-O-Wisp. (Without the "not only" bit, it sounds like other Poison-types don't resist Wood Hammer.)

**Status**: Will-O-Wisp cripples Torterra's attack, rendering it useless. Toxic puts a timer on its survivability longevity.

Implemented most, thanks. I'm used to having those sentences just to state the obvious because it many situations I have been told to at least say something about everything in set details, I really do not think I should remove them. No offense, but I feel you were nitpicking at my sentences a bit too much :/
And yes I know I just c/p'd that sentence about hariyama, there are 3 sets and I was getting a bit lazy, so what.
Yeah, I definitely see what you mean. It's a hard balance to be struck between saying nothing vs. stating the obvious. In addition, I can't deny that I was being a bit nit-picky. It's just that I was reading about the fluff thing, and it seemed necessary to mention to you at the time. Sorry about that, no hard feelings? There's nothing really wrong with c/ping those sentences, I just chuckled is all. Grats on 1000 posts. :)

AM check! :D

Torterra has a great STAB combination backed by a strong base 109 Attack stat, (AC) and can offensive stats to hit most Pokemon in the tier for neutral damage. Torterra also has a very unique Grass- and Ground Its typing is also good defensively, resisting the EdgeQuake combination, as well as having an immunity to Electric-type attacks. Torterra is very versatile, as it can effectively use run a Choice Band set to wallbreak, a tank set to reliably set up Stealth Rock, as well as and even a late-game Rock Polish sweeper. As a Stealth Rock user, Torterra has a great match-up matchup against most opposing entry hazard setters such as Rhydon, Seismitoad, Garbodor, and Crustle. Unfortunately, Torterra is weak to common attacking types such as Fire-, Flying-, and Ice-type moves coming from the likes of including Magmortar, Cryogonal, and Archeops.

Stone Edge should be used on a predicted switch to a Flying-type switch-in, such as Xatu or Scyther. Crunch is best used to hit Gourgeist or Exeggutor on the switch, as they don't fear any of Torterra's other moves. Bullet Seed, while not often needed, should only be used only as an anti-lead function against Sturdy users, (AC) such as Golem.

Set-up (remove hyphen) sweepers such as Feraligatr or and Slurpuff are good partners to take advantage of this set's wallbreaking ability. A bulky Steel-type is helpful to cover Torterra's weakness to Ice- and Flying-types. Volt Switch or and U-turn users, (AC) such as Lanturn and Liepard, (AC) are useful to bring Torterra in safely. Entry hazard support from the likes of Garbodor and Crustle are very useful in helping to wear down Torterra's switch-ins. Creating a Fire / Water / Grass core with Torterra is very beneficial, as the other Pokemon cover Torterra's weakness to Fire- and Ice-type attacks. Lanturn is a good example, while and other options include Kabutops, Pyroar, and Typhlosion. Assault Vest Hariyama is a great teammate that can also handle Fire- and Ice-types, but it unfortunately adds another a Flying-type weakness. Healing Wish support from the likes of Mesprit can give Torterra a second opportunity to punch holes in the opponent's (add apostrophe) team.

========

Thanks to Torterra's great STAB combination, it forces a decent amount of switches against opposing entry hazard users, allowing it to set up Stealth Rock. Synthesis should be used when Torterra is below 50% HP to recover HP when needed. However, it is sometimes possible to utilize Synthesis to gauge the damage of an opponentfoe's attack. If the opponent foe fails to 2HKO Torterra, it may be able to beat the foe Torterra might be able to beat the foe one-on-one on its own. Wood Hammer and Earthquake should be used to hit their appropriate targets. If the opponent has a An opposing Pokemon immune to Ground-type attacks paired with a good Pokemon that resists Grass-type resist, they can force Torterra into unfavorable situations.

Team Options
========

Ghost-types, (AC) such as Mismagius and Rotom, (AC) can block Rapid Spin and keep Stealth Rock on the opponent's side of the field. Defiant users, (AC) such as Pawniard and Primeape, (AC) are also good choices to deter the use of foes from using Defog. Bulky Water- or and Steel-types are helpful to cover Torterra's weaknesses to Ice-, Fire-, and Flying-type Ice, Fire, and Flying attacks. Klinklang is a notable Steel-type teammate that appreciates Stealth Rock to help it potentially sweep. Garbodor is a good partner to set up Spikes and Toxic Spikes alongside Torterra's Stealth Rock, (RC) and, (AC) in return, Torterra can handle most Ground-types that threaten Garbodor.

Rock Polish
########
name: Rock Polish
move 1: Rock Polish
move 2: Wood Hammer
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Stone Edge
ability: Overgrow
item: Life Orb
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Jolly / Adamant

Overgrow is more useful than Shell Armor, as it can be very helpful in boosting to get a boost to Wood Hammer in a pinch.

Usage Tips
========

Torterra should set up Rock Polish on Pokemon that it forces out, such as Seismitoad and Probopass. Don't try to sweep until Torterra's checks and counters have been weakened, as it will not be able to break through them. However, it may might be wise in some situations to use Rock Polish early- to mid-game in order to put offensive pressure on the opponent, possibly clearing the way for another teammate to sweep or clean.

Team Options
========

Wallbreakers such as Choice Band Sawk or Choice Specs Typhlosion are a great help to this set, as they can aid ease Torterra's sweep late-game sweep by wearing down bulky Grass-types. Entry hazard support from the likes of Crustle and Accelgor are important to wear down Torterra's checks and counters. Volt Switch or U-turn users, (AC) such as Lanturn and Liepard, (AC) are useful to bring Torterra in safely. Assault Vest Hariyama is a great teammate, as it can also handle Fire- and Ice-types,; however, it adds another Flying-type weakness. Healing Wish support from the likes of Mesprit can give Torterra a second opportunity to sweep.

Other Options
########

Seed Bomb can be used over Wood Hammer for a less powerful Grass-type move without recoil. Swords Dance is an option to pressure more defensive teams, while Roar can be used with a defensive set to phaze out set-up setup sweepers and rack up entry hazard damage. Toxic cripples the bulky Grass-types that Torterra struggles with. A Double Dance set with Swords Dance and Rock Polish can be used, but the lack of a coverage move is not optimal.

Checks & Counters
#########

**Grass-types**: Defensive Grass-types, (AC) such as Tangela and Gourgeist, (AC) can stomach hits from Torterra fairly well, and the latter only has to fear Crunch from the Choice Band set. Also, more offensive Grass-types, (AC) such as Lilligant and Sceptile, (AC) can check Torterra, as they resist both of its STAB moves and often carry Hidden Power Ice.

**Ice-types**: Ice-types, (AC) such as Cryogonal, Sneasel, and Piloswine, (AC) all threaten to KO Torterra with their STAB moves, (RC) but cannot switch in easily.

**Fire-types**: Many Fire-types, (AC) such as Typhlosion, Magmortar, and Pyroar, (AC) resist Wood Hammer and can easily KO Torterra with their respective STAB moves, (RC) but cannot switch into Earthquake.

**Flying-types**: Flying-types, (AC) such as Scyther, Rotom-S, Xatu, and Vivillon, (AC) are immune to Earthquake and most resist Wood Hammer. However, they must watch out for Stone Edge on the switch.

**Weezing**: Unlike other Poison-types, Weezing not only resists Wood Hammer, (RC) but is also immune to Earthquake as well thanks to Levitate and can cripple Torterra with Will-O-Wisp.

**Status**: Will-O-Wisp halves Torterra's Attack, rendering it useless., whereas Toxic puts a timer on its Torterra's longevity.

Overview
########

Torterra's great STAB combination backed by a strong base 109 Attack stat allows it to hit most Pokemon in the tier for at least neutral damage. Torterra's typing is also good defensively, resisting the EdgeQuake combination, as well as having an immunity to Electric-type attacks. Torterra is very versatile, as it can effectively run a Choice Band set to wallbreak, a tank set to reliably set up Stealth Rock, and even a late-game Rock Polish sweeper. As a Stealth Rock user, Torterra has a great match-up against most opposing entry hazard setters, (comma) such as Rhydon, Seismitoad, Garbodor, and Crustle. Unfortunately, Torterra is weak to common Fire-, Flying-, and Ice-type moves coming from the likes of Magmortar, Cryogonal, and Archeops.

Stone Edge hits Flying-types such as Xatu and Rotom-S, both of which resist Torterra's STAB moves. Crunch hits Gourgeist and Exeggutor harder than any of Torterra's other attacks.
