Okay Willow, this place should make you feel right at home! Let's see if we can ignite the flames of battle!

Start off the round with a 25 HP Substitute! Then fire off a Toxic to start off with some damage over the course of the next few turns, and finish off with Leech Seed to make even more residual damage!

Ah, Substitute. Everybody loves Substitute... except people whose Substitutes avail them little, and that was the case for Willow today. It withstood two hits, but Willow wasn't able to capitalize on the time it offered. Flare is in better health, but not by much; both Pokemon have Energy far lower than their HP. Will these Pokemon faint of exhaustion before they faint directly from the battle?

Okay my Willow, start off the match with a Light Screen! Cutting this damage will help in the long run. Then make a Substitute with 23 HP. That should keep your Sub intact after the Earth Power, since Rock Slide + Earth Power under Screen should deal just below that. Then, use Toxic to start some residual damage and see where to take it from there on the next round.

Yay, an effective use of Substitute. Flare must certainly be feeling emo at the moment; she's suffering from residual damage. Both Pokemon, however, are suffering from an Energy crisis, and they may very well faint of exhaustion before they faint of HP loss. What will determine the end of this battle? Only future rounds will tell...

Okay Willow, let's take advantage of the pressure being put on Flare! Chill on the first turn, and chill on the second turn! Finish off the round with a Leech Seed to renew that pressure!

IF PROTECT ON TURN THREE: Just chill again for free!

This round was very similar to the last one; Flare got a direct hit in, but Willow is still dealing superior damage in the subtler categories. Okay, we don't want to be making this guy faster than us, so why not mess up his orders then? We should be able to throw him off as long as we don't use Light Screen...first. So, let's try this.

Quickly, use Giga Drain to help soften the blow of that Fire Blast (if it hits) combined with the Leech Seed damage. Then use Light Screen to mess up his orders, and finish off with a 13 HP Substitute to finish the round, and we will go from there.

This round was certainly more offensive; Flare and Willow duked it out, trading blows. Willow stubbornly keeps on the defensive, with results starting to not be the greatest. Toxic is certainly taking its toll, though... will it eliminate Flare before Willow's lack of energy leaves a deadly opening?

Willow, get in a nice chill while it fails to break your Substitute. Not even Rock Slide can break it. Then use Giga Drain to score more damage and health, and finish the round with another chill.

If it decides to try and break your Substitute with a combo move on turn 1, reverse the order of that Giga Drain and chill. (So it would be chill, chill, Giga Drain)

EDIT: Terrador fixed the Toxic issue. :)

Well done Willow! Looks like we'll pull out of this one with a well deserved win. Let's wrap it up:

...how on earth did Rock Slide (12 damage) and Flame Charge (8 damage) not break a 17 HP Substitute? Either way, I know what I'm buying Camerupt after this battle-Toxic is amazing in singles.

Apologizing for the fact that I haven't gotten to this sooner; my Internet has been done for the last couple of days. Also, I fixed the Sub thing. Forgot it was SE .-.

Tortferngatr, your combo is two moves, adding up to four actions in a round. Post new orders, then I'll be able to ref this.

This won't be done for a couple of hours, since I'm putting #1 priority on tournament matches. Sorry again for the inconvenience.
