The ASB Tournament Arena

Surrounded by thousands of screaming Pokemon fans, the ASB Arena can be best described as a standard Pokemon battling arena. In the center of the arena lies a dirt-based floor outlined to show two separate sides (with a white Pokeball center). Surrounding the dirt is a moat filled with water. The moat is about fifteen feet wide and creates a perimeter around the dirt arena. The arena itself is eighty feet wide, one hundred feet long. All moves, weathers, and abilities are legal for the match, since it's an outdoor arena with a large water source and packed dirt. Pokemon must stay in the arena (or the dimensions of the arena in the case of Flying Pokemon, who cannot leave the arena and cannot fly higher than sixty feet). This prevents Pokemon from injuring the crowd watching the tournament. There are no outside interruptions by fans, Pokemon, or other elements not associated with the current battle.

Starting out with Gengar, yes.
So, we start out with Marshtomp vs. Gengar! Isn't this exciting?

The coin is flipped... and DarkSlay will be issuing actions first!

Okay, let's go Allergy!

Will-O-Wisp -> Energy Ball -> Toxic

IF (
Marshtomp uses Yawn), THEN (Use Magic Coat to reflect it back on that same action, but only ONCE)

This is not going to go well. That burn is going to kill us, we can't afford to lose any power. So, we will have to Protect ourselves from that, cause an Avalanche after being hit with that Energy Ball, and then Waterfall.

Protect, Avalanche, Waterfall

Round One Start!

Welcome to Round Two of the first ever ASB Tourney! The fans are getting hyped up about the match, and the contestants themselves are finding themselves having pictures taken by Cameron the photographer, who finds them especially photogenic today! On a shady side of the arena, twenty-six people gather around a table, making what appear to be bets on the winners. One of them saunters down to the arena, confidence oozing out of every step. Ladies and gentlemen, DarkSlay! *cheers from the betting table* And a relatively new battler, but talented nevertheless, C$FP! He walks into the arena from a small tunnel of to the side. Expecting no applause, he's pleasantly surprised by Cameron the photographer, who snuggles close and takes yet another picture. Now, let's get on to the battle!

Allergy starts the round off for us, shooting blue-white flames that oscillate in the air, forming rings of fire, stars of fire, skulls of fire. They lazily make their way towards Swamp Thing, who seems to be frightened by the flames. At least his trainer understands how he feels, ordering him to quickly throw up a protective shield. The flames hit the shield and quickly dissipate, leaving Swamp Thing feeling quite safe for now.

Allergy used Will-o-Wisp! -7 energy
Swamp Thing used Protect! -7 energy, Will-o-Wisp blocked

Seeing that the status strategy won't work, DarkSlay quickly commands a second strategy - that is, just smashing the opponent in. Creating a ball of life from her ghostly form, Allergy hurls the greenish blob of stuff at Swamp Thing, who takes a surprisingly large amount of damage for a swamp creature. Aren't swamp creatures supposed to be used to life? Let's just say Swamp Thing is feigning extra pain. That makes everyone feel better, right? Swamp Thing quickly retaliates by slamming admittedly large glacial pillars of solid ice through Allergy's gaseous body, dealing a large amount of damage as well. This is interesting so far, right? zzz....zz...zzzz.....

Allergy used Energy Ball! 25 damage, -6 energy
Swamp Thing used Avalanche! 17 damage, -6 damage

Sincerely hoping that Swamp Thing won't be such a wimp again and throw up shields all over the place, DarkSlay orders another attempt at status. Grinning evilly, Allergy gets a bit farther from Swamp Thing, then quickly releases neurotoxins from his body towards Swamp Thing. As audience members are handed emergency gas masks and ponchos, Swamp Thing is helpless as the neurotoxins enter his system, starting a deadly reaction. He hasn't quite felt the pain yet, though, as he continues the assault, tackling into Allergy with a rather powerful water-based attack.

Allergy used Toxic! -6 energy
Swamp Thing used Waterfall! 16 damage, -5 energy
Swamp Thing was hurt by poison! 1 damage

While both of our combatants look pretty even at the moment, it seems that Allergy has simply been toying with Swamp Thing. However, we're all pretty sure that C$FP might have some other tricks up his sleeve. Will he have time to execute those tricks, or will he be defeated in the blink of an eye?

End.

Allergy (F)

Okay Allergy, let's try and lessen the damage done to you while maximizing the damage done to Marshtomp here, shall we? This should put it in KO range.

Round Two Start!

Welcome back to this match, where I will attempt to cut down on flavor because I actually have other stuff to get to now! It seems that Swamp Thing is winning at the moment, but Allergy looks like she's about to pull a couple of particularly nasty tricks on Swamp Thing; let's see how this unfolds!

Allergy immediately uses one of the REALLY nasty tricks, delving into Swamp Thing's mind and erasing Avalanche from his repertoire of moves. Swamp Thing, of course, immediately tries to use the move, but fails miserably due to being unable to remember how to use it. Go figure. Next, Allergy casts a hex on the already pathetic-looking Swamp Thing, dealing extra damage because of the toxins happily gnawing away at Swamp Thing's insides. Finally being able to attack, Swamp Thing makes a watery tackle at Allergy, dealing some damage. Experiencing major schadenfreude, Allergy creates a second ball of life and hurls it at Swamp Thing, dealing a ridiculous amount of damage while Swamp Thing can't remember how to use Avalanche again. I can see C$FP cursing over there...

Allergy used Disable! -6 energy
Swamp Thing used Avalanche! Failed, -6 energy
Allergy used Hex! 16 damage, -6 energy
Swamp Thing used Waterfall! 16 damage, -5 energy
Allergy used Energy Ball! 25 damage, -6 energy
Swamp Thing used Avalanche! Failed, -6 energy
Swamp Thing takes 6 total damage from BPSN

Round Three!

As Allergy hurls another ball of wonderful life at Swamp Thing, hitting for another ridiculously large amount of damage, Swamp Thing retaliates by tackling Allergy again for relatively lackluster damage. As both Pokemon maintain distance, panting, Swamp Thing falls to the ground, succumbing to the toxins.

Swamp Thing is quickly rushed to Nurse Joy, who immediately heals Swamp Thing back to full health. Relieved, C$FP readies his second Pokemon.

End.

Round Four!

As the trainers talk with their Pokemon, glancing upwards every so often to check that they're not being eavesdropped on, the command booth responsible for monitoring DarkSlay is in a very panicked state. Previously unopened drawers are opened, things are quickly stashed into baskets, and doors are closed just as the command people push one of their kind out with the basket. Unfortunately, C$FP is completely oblivious to this, due to him issuing actions and the blacked-out windows in his booth (why they're blacked out, I don't know; he watches the battle from a television screen >_>).

The command person rushes back into the command room and, prepared, the round gets under way. Allergy immediately starts, screeching with horrible noises and sheer agony. Though literally three magnets, Electro is still affected by the song and quickly tries to end the song by destroying the singer with a bright flash of silver light. Of course, Allergy is a bit bulkier than that, hanging on with just over ten HP to spare. It appears that the audience is doing fine as well, with their bright orange earplugs peeking out underneath the fur earmuffs peaking out underneath the large hat in the small airtight bubbles around each member's head. We told you that safety is our first priority, so...

With the screen flashing "TAKE OFF THE BUBBLES NOW," the audience members pop off the small airtight bubbles, breathing deeply. It seems that it was difficult for them to hold onto their breath for a minute. Suckers. Allergy wastes no time, shooting a beam of discombobulating light at Electro, who quickly becomes intensely confused. Though confused, Electro successfully summons a Thunderbolt, which zaps Allergy and knocks her unconscious.

End.

Unless something horrendous happens, I think this might be it then.

Go, Lumber the Conkeldurr!

Start off with a Substitute (20 HP) to start off the round. Then, fire off a Focus Punch. Finish it off with a nice Drain Punch.

We will definitely need luck on our side to win this match, so we shall have to take some risks!

Zap Cannon, Thunderbolt, Zap Cannon
IF Lumber is fully paralyzed on action 1 and doesn't put up a Substitute, use Supersonic on action 2.

On a side note, for claims, Electro is now fully evolved with its Dream World ability unlocked.

Round Five!

As Lumber is sent out, muscles flexing and all the jazz, C$FP quickly becomes worried. So what do you do when you're worried? You pull out all the stops.

Electro charges up a ridiculously large beam of electricity, firing it off at Lumber. Surprised by this tactic, Lumber is hit full-on by the attack, taking a nice chunk of damage. The electricity also seems to shock him so badly that he can't do anything this action due to paralysis! Attempting to further deteriorate the well-being of its foe, Electro attempts to fire off supersonic sound waves, but ends up hitting himself in confusion! Aha, the golden rule reigns supreme! Lumber attempts to take advantage of this with a powerful punch of his own, but once again, he is fully paralyzed by the electricity still coursing through his body! With C$FP urging it on, Electro tries the first tactic again, charging up a large ball of electricity, then fires it at Lumber, who easily evades it now. Lumber retaliates with a punch of his own that finally hits... wait, it doesn't. Lumber is fully paralyzed AGAIN!

Zap Cannon: (12 + 3 + 1.5) * 1 = 16.5 ~ 17 damage, -8 energy (25% PRZ)
Lumber is fully paralyzed (1 on the RNG ._.)
Supersonic: Hit self in confusion -> (4 - 3) = 1 damage, -3 energy
Lumber is fully paralyzed (12 on the RNG)

Round Six Huzzah!

(not in chronological order; don't worry I got everything right)

Electro is quite scared of this concrete swinging behemoth, firing off two of those large electricity balls, hoping that just one will find its target. Electro is pleasantly surprised when both of them hit, dealing significant damage! Shocked by all the electricity in his system, Lumber slowly makes his way towards Electro, pulling both fists back. As he punches with life-sapping energy, his left arm suddenly stops from paralysis, but his right arm makes contact, dealing tons of damage. Then, seeing impending disaster, Lumber attempts to stuff his life force into a stuffy doll, but fails due to paralysis. Electro then explodes, dealing tons of damage to Lumber and committing suicide.

Zap Cannon: (12 + 3 + 1.5) * 1 = 16.5 ~ 17 damage, -12 energy
Drain Punch: (8 + 3 + 2 + 2 + 3) * 1.5 = 27 damage, 13 HP healed, -11 energy
Zap Cannon: (12 + 3 + 1.5) * 1 = 16.5 ~ 17 damage, -16 energy
Substitute: FULLY PARALYZED
Explosion: (25 - 2) * 1 = 23 damage, -20 energy

Ehh, I knew I would lose once I saw... well, I don't think there was anyone that I could have beat this round, actually. Although, I feel I did pretty well considering the fact that I was fighting with NFEs (even though I had some major hax working for me). Good luck in future rounds, DarkSlay, and thank you for the reffing, Engineer Pikachu.
