Tyrantrum is prone to being revenge killed and requires support from Pokemon that can switch into faster attackers, particularly those that can hit Tyrantrum for super effective damage. Flying-types such as Gliscor and Zapdos are able to handle Fighting- and Ground-types, while Steel-types such as Jirachi and Heatran cover Tyrantrum's weaknesses to Fairy, Dragon, and Ice. Tyrantrum benefits from U-turn and Volt Switch support from slow pivots such as Landorus-T, Rotom-W, and Scizor, which can get it in safely against a variety of threats. It also benefits from faster pivots, such as Tornadus-T and Mega Manectric, which can get Tyrantrum on the field by forcing a switch into a defensive Pokemon such as Clefable or Heatran, which Tyrantrum can then take advantage of.
Other Options

Rock Polish enables Tyrantrum to outspeed Mega Lopunny but misses out on a lot of power compared to Dragon Dance. Stealth Rock is also an option, but Tyrantrum's subpar Speed, typing, and bulk make it a mediocre Stealth Rock setter.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Steel-types**: Steel-types such as Mega Metagross, Ferrothorn, Excadrill, Jirachi, and Klefki resist both of Tyrantrum's STAB moves and hit back for super effective damage. However, they are vulnerable to Tyrantrum's coverage moves, which the Dragon Dance set can freely choose to use against them; Ferrothorn is weak to Fire Fang, Mega Metagross and Jirachi are weak to Earthquake, and Excadrill is weak to Superpower. Counter Skarmory can beat any set that isn't using Choice Band.
**Ground-types** : Ground-types are generally good answers to Tyrantrum due to their resistance to Head Smash, the fact that none of Tyrantrum's coverage moves besides Ice Fang hit them for super effective damage, and their ability to hit it back very hard with Earthquake. Hippowdon and Landorus-T take on most Tyrantrum very well, only fearing a Choice Band-boosted Outrage, while Garchomp can switch into Choice-locked Head Smash fairly easily, severely damaging Tyrantrum in the process, but cannot switch into Outrage at all.
**Fighting-types** : Fighting-types such as Keldeo, Mega Lopunny, Chesnaught, Terrakion, Conkeldurr, and to a lesser extent Breloom can take Tyrantrum's Head Smash quite well and retaliate with a super effective STAB move. However, all of these Pokemon are hit very hard by Outrage.
**Faster Attackers**: Tyrantrum can easily be checked by faster attackers, especially those with a super effective STAB attack such as Mega Diancie, Mega Gardevoir, Mega Altaria, Latios, Weavile, Mamoswine, and more. It can also be checked by naturally faster Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Alakazam, Choice Scarfer users such as Landorus-T and Heatran, or weather sweepers such as Excadrill in sand and Kabutops and Kingdra in rain.
**Priority Users**: When weakened, Tyrantrum can be revenge killed by certain priority moves such as Ice Shard from Weavile or Mamoswine, Aqua Jet from Choice Band Azumarill, Sucker Punch from Bisharp, Bullet Punch from Scizor, and Mach Punch from Breloom. However, most of these attacks are too weak to KO Tyrantrum from full health.
