Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

No need to scan that headline twice and make sure you read it right – UNCHARTED 3 is real.
This morning, Entertainment Weekly revealed the next chapter in the critically-acclaimed, top-selling UNCHARTED franchise – UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception.

UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception continues to evolve all of the core principles we laid out for the UNCHARTED franchise, most important of which is creating an unmatched and extremely compelling interactive cinematic experience. In addition to having a compelling story and authentic characters that all of our fans can relate to as key facets to creating this type of experience, we push ourselves and the capability of the PlayStation hardware through constantly refined gameplay mechanics and technology innovation. Our dedication to creating the best interactive cinematic experience can be seen in our last two games – UNCHARTED: Drake’s Fortune and UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves. We’re especially honored and humbled that both titles have been so successful, selling nearly 8 million units combined and earning more industry awards and accolades than we can keep track of. We’ve set the bar very high for us to outdo the past successes of our previous UNCHARTED games. We’re looking forward to taking on this challenge to top ourselves and create a truly unforgettable interactive cinematic experience that everyone can enjoy.
So, if you’re wondering what UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception has in store for you, we wanted to share some early details.

UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception features the return of famed fortune hunter Nathan Drake and follows him through a gripping, action-packed storyline that will take you all over the world. In his search for the fabled “Atlantis of the Sands,” Nathan Drake and longtime friend and mentor Victor Sullivan set off on a daring trek into the heart of the Arabian Desert. But when terrible secrets of this lost city are uncovered, their journey becomes a desperate bid for survival that will force Drake to confront his deepest fears.
Throughout UNCHARTED 3, you’ll be taken to spectacular new locations around the globe that will showcase all of the work we’ve taken on to take acclaimed physics, particle and visual effects to a new level.
Competitive and co-op multiplayer will return as a key ingredient to the UNCHARTED 3 package, where all of the new features we have planned will combine with our signature single-player cinematic gameplay to create a unique action-adventure multiplayer experience that can only be found in the UNCHARTED universe.
Oh, and there’s one more thing – UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception fully supports high-resolution Stereoscopic 3D.
We’re looking forward to exploring it all with you in the months to come. Be sure to hit up your local newsstand tomorrow and pick up a copy of the December 17 issue of Entertainment Weekly – you’ll find a ton of additional details on UNCHARTED 3 and the new art shown above in glorious, full color print. Enjoy!

can't wait to nearly fall to my death only to have someone grab my arm at the last second and save me
And you'll get to do it like 20 times too!

Just finished 2 last week, really liked it. I also like the idea focusing on sully, the whole - girl who doesn't quite like drake but stays with him for some ulterior motive and then grows to like him during the game so that in the last moments they make some great connection and someone saves someones life - bit probably couldn't fly a third time.

*Updated the OP some more, should have done it in the first place...*

That was a fairly common complaint in UC2. But ND is known for listening to their fans! So let's hope they fix it.

I'm so pumped for this. I was in the closed beta for UC2, and I had that shit a week before it even came out on the market.

You seriously can't imagine how much of a fanboy meltdown I'm having right now. DDDDD::::::

omfgomfgomgomfdaagafaef hypeeeeee ahhhhhhh gahhhhhhh

Instead of having to read shitty sites like IGN and Kotaku, you can read the original article: http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/12/09/uncharted-3-first-look/

After finishing the average Uncharted, Uncharted 2 was my absolute favourite game of 2009. I cannot wait for this one. I love the look of the locale. Not too happy about the stereoscopic 3D. Hoping for a release date that's Q4 2011 because I likely won't have access to a PS3 from May - August which would kill me. It's one of the few games I absolutely need Day 1.

Not to mention Victor goddamn Sullivan

Thanks firebro I totally forgot about the source page. :/ I WAS TOO BUSY FREAKING OUTTTTT

Trailer was pretty omegasauce awesome. It's probably the only reason I watched the crappy VGA awards last night. Well, they weren't that bad. Red Dead Redemption got the awards it deserved (I'm still a little ticked off Mario Galaxy 2 didn't get nominated for the GOTY award, really? Oh well, at least AC:B won best adventure game.) Did anyone else think it was a REALLY awkward show?

It has always been an awkward show. It's also always been terrible. I kept forgetting it was an awards show actually. I usually stream it to laugh at it while waiting for trailers which apparently always have to be 100% CG unless you're Sony Computer Entertainment (which is ironic considering what they did at E3 in 2005).

Best thing out of the VGAs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9U1MgJVWniQ

Poor poor EA.

Ahhh! The NBA Elite 11 thing made me lol last night.

Well, it seems to get a "tad" less crappy every year. I mean, at least this year they didn't hire a bunch of B-List celebrities to try and appease to the BRO crowd while generally ignoring the programmers, artists... nevermind...

Anyways, I wonder who this years model is going to be in Uncharted 3. There's always one! Unless Drake finally confessed his uttermost true feelings to Elena, and they finally managed to accept their love for each other!!! Judging by Drake still adventuring and whatnot, I doubt this unfortunately.

There really isn't "always one". We've only had two games in the franchise. Elena has also obviously been pegged as his central love interest. Hope she makes an appearance again. Elena is the best.
