Shaymin as an check

Shaymin @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power
- Psychic
- Synthesis

Shaymin can enter on a choice locked Water Type move(Psychic Fangs can OHKO after rocks, Crunch always 2HKOs after rocks) and click Seed Flare to OHKO Bruxish, or use Synthesis to heal it self up(if you are gutsy enough, you can use Earth Power on a predicted Steel/Fire/Poison switch)

252 SpA Life Orb Shaymin Seed Flare vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Bruxish: 572-673 (206.4 - 242.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Choice Band Strong Jaw Bruxish Psychic Fangs vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Shaymin: 268-316 (78.5 - 92.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Choice Band Strong Jaw Bruxish Crunch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Shaymin: 169-199 (49.5 - 58.3%) -- 98.8% chance to 2HKO
252 Atk Choice Band Bruxish Waterfall vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Shaymin: 84-99 (24.6 - 29%) -- 99.9% chance to 4HKO
252 Atk Choice Band Strong Jaw Bruxish Psychic Fangs vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Shaymin: 268-316 (78.5 - 92.6%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Life Orb Shaymin Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Bruxish: 143-169 (51.6 - 61%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Durant @ Life Orb
Ability: Hustle
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Crunch
- Superpower
- Rock Slide

outpaces and ohkos w/ lo + hustle boosted crunch. can also switch in once but it's not really a good idea because durant gets worn down quickly from rocks + orb chip.

Galvantula @ Life Orb
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunder
- Bug Buzz
- Energy Ball
- Giga Drain

I think that Galvantula is one of the best counters for Bruxish because both Electric and Bug are both weak to Bruxish. So what I did I gave Galvantula All attacking moves with Life Orb because all of those moves have great Base Power and they can do lots of damage. With Giga Drain, it can restore HP by a lot of it get's low or just use it straight away for a possible OHKO. Also, Galvantula's Compound Eyes is the best because it get's access to Thunder Which will always hit. The last 2 moves are Bug Buzz for STAB and Energy ball because it will just OHKO Bruxish

252+ SpA Life Orb Galvantula Thunder vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Bruxish: 564-665 (203.6 - 240%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ SpA Life Orb Galvantula Bug Buzz vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Bruxish: 463-546 (167.1 - 197.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ SpA Life Orb Galvantula Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Bruxish: 257-304 (92.7 - 109.7%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO

252+ SpA Life Orb Galvantula Energy Ball vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Bruxish: 309-364 (111.5 - 131.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

both Electric and Bug are both weak to Bruxish

What does this even mean.

This could have some sort of sense if you said "Bruxish's typing, Water/Psychic, is weak to Galvantula's STAB moves".
Even if it was so, typing doesn't always create a counter.

Also, Galvantula's Compound Eyes are the best because it get's acces to Thunder Which will always hit.
Actually, it will hit 91% of the times.

Why Modest? You still are going to OHKO things like Bruxish, Modest really only helps you lose speed.

So what I did I gave Galvantula Agility because if I want to outspeed Bruxish and OHKO him Galvantula has to be faster.

But Galvantula is always faster than Bruxish (except Choice Scarf, which I doubt is actually used).

Sorry, but in my opinion, what you said is pretty... stupid, to say the least.

Please refrain from bashing other people's sets Myren.

I can understand your critical attitude towards the set, but insults won't get us anywhere. After all, we all started at some point, right?

While the evaluation process remains subjective to the judges, constructive criticism is still very much appreciated. Insults will not be tolerated.

Carry on.

Alright, that's it for this week! Thank you all for participating!

Counters:
Umbreon by JonathanXtreme
Umbreon takes two Waterfall even after Stealth Rock, and sponges every other attack with ease. It has the ability to stay healthy throughout the match with Wish and OHKOes Bruxish with Foul Play.

Registeel by askov
Thanks to Leftovers + Protect and overall great bulk, Registeel is able to handle Bruxish decently well. Seismic Toss is only a 3HKO but with Protect and Leftovers recoery it will outlast Bruxish, taking about 24% damage (max!) from Waterfall or Crunch after two rounds of Leftovers recovery (Protect).

Ferroseed by Cheryl.
"Ferroseed is one of the only true Counters to CB Bruxish, being able to resist and shrug off Bruxish's stupidly strong Psychic Fangs and it's other STAB moves, and taking minimal damage from Crunch. Ferroseed is able to effectively wear Bruxish down with a combination of Iron Barbs activating and using Leech Seed to heal itself back up and sap away at Bruxish in the process, only further complimented by Protect for further stalling. You can even set up Spikes on Bruxish, or chip away at it with Gyro Ball, or even better, cripple it by Knocking Off it's Choice Band, making Bruxish even more useless against this monstorous little spikeball." (Ranked lowest because of its reliance on recovery from Leech Seed)

Checks:
Shaymin by The Bill Cipher
"Shaymin can enter on a choice locked Water Type move (Psychic Fangs can OHKO after rocks, Crunch always 2HKOs after rocks) and click Seed Flare to OHKO Bruxish, or use Synthesis to heal it self up (if you are gutsy enough, you can use Earth Power on a predicted Steel/Fire/Poison switch)."

Durant by Romanticist
Durant can switch in once on any move from CB Bruxish and OHKOes with Hustle boosted Crunch.

Galavantula by Cofaiclus
Galvantula is not a counter, since it can not switch in on Bruxish at all, much less take multiple hits from it. It merely revenge kills Bruxish when it gets a free switch-in, making it a check. OHKOes Bruxish with Bug Buzz when maneuvered in safely. (I recommend changing Giga Drain for Sticky Web, there is no need for two Grass type moves and access to Sticky Web is Galvantula's best trait.)

The next victim will be revealed shortly!

Sorry for the late response but our Victim is finally here:
In Halloween spirit our victim is:

Fightinium Z NP Hoopa
Hoopa @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Magician
EVs: 248 SpA / 8 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Substitute
- Nasty Plot

Hoopa is so deadly and so strong, Fightinium Z gives a powerful and accurate Fighting coverage, not to mention how its coverage is totally unresisted and Subs give it a lot of setup opportunities thanks to its special bulk and typing, how you check Hoopa?

Araquanid @ Splash Plate
Ability: Water Bubble
EVs: 184 HP / 252 Atk / 72 Spe

- Liquidation
- Leech Life

Due to Araquanid's natural bulk, it can always take a +2 Shadow Ball or All-Out Pummeling as long as rocks are off in the field, and then OHKO with Liquidation.
+2 248 SpA Hoopa Shadow Ball vs. 184 HP / 0 SpD Araquanid: 229-270 (70.8 - 83.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Drapion @ Black Sludge
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Poison Jab
- Toxic Spikes
- Taunt

Drapion can enter on any move Hoopa clicks(barring 2+Z-Focus Blast w) and just kill Hoopa with Knock off,set-up Toxic Spikes, or if you have the guts to do it, click Poison Jab on a predicted Fairy-Type switch in

252+ Atk Drapion Knock Off vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hoopa: 552-652 (183.3 - 216.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Drapion Poison Jab vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hoopa: 84-99 (27.9 - 32.8%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
248 SpA Hoopa Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Drapion: 91-108 (26.5 - 31.4%) -- 20.1% chance to 4HKO after Black Sludge recovery

Chesnaught @ Leftovers
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Wood Hammer
- Synthesis
- Drain Punch

With Bulletproof, Chesnaught is immune to Shadow Ball and Focus Blast.
He just have to scout the Z move, once it's used Hoopa can't do shit to Chesnaught.

But the Z-Shadow Ball will OHKO Chesnaught even without boost so be careful!
you can use Spiky Shield in order to resist the Z move.

Kommo-o as a hard check

Kommo-o @ Choice Specs
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Clanging Scales
- Focus Blast
- Flamethrower
- Flash Cannon

Kommo-o is a great Hoopa check because the only common scenario that it loses to Hoopa is if it switch on a Nasty Plot from Hoopa, but otherwise it can always beat Hoopa 1v1. Only Hoopa move that can hit Kommo-o is its zmove which doesn't KO Kommo-o from full, while Kommo-o is faster and can kill Hoopa with 2 Specs Clanging Scales

248 SpA Hoopa All-Out Pummeling (190 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Kommo-o: 220-259 (75.6 - 89%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Choice Specs Kommo-o Clanging Scales vs. 0 HP / 8 SpD Hoopa: 195-231 (64.7 - 76.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Specially defensive Sableye as a check
Physically defensive variants can also potentially check it but have a harder time doing it, and cant check it at all if its already set up

Sableye @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Knock Off

unboosted, hoopas attacks do nothing compared to sableyes. the worst possible scenario is hoopa setting up a sub just as you switch in and setting up as you destroy the sub with knock off. even then, sableye still has a chance to live and ohko back. its also immune to its fighting coverage, so hoopa cant nuke it into oblivion like it can to other checks.

0 Atk Sableye Knock Off vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hoopa: 336-400 (111.6 - 132.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

248 SpA Hoopa Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Sableye: 136-162 (44.7 - 53.2%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 248 SpA Hoopa Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Sableye: 273-322 (89.8 - 105.9%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO

Sucker Punch Umbreon
Yue (Umbreon) @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Sucker Punch
- Foul Play

This Umbreon set can be run on stalls with another mon using heal bell. This set allows Umbreon to come in on a sub, proceed to foul play on the nasty plot and then sucker punch on Z-Move. I think I would say this is a counter as no-one would expect sucker punch. Pursuit could probably be run over Foul Play to also be able to trap Hoopa, or any other ghosts/psychics.

Apologies for the delay, both Randomnick and I have been quite busy lately.

Checks:

Kommo-O by askov
"[T]he only [two] scenario[s in which] [Kommo-O] loses to Hoopa is if it switch[es in] on a Nasty Plot [or Subsitute] from Hoopa, but otherwise it can always beat Hoopa 1v1. [Thanks to Bulletproof, the o]nly [...] move [from Hoopa] that can hit Kommo-O is its Z-move which doesn't KO Kommo-O from full [when unboosted], while Kommo-O is faster and can kill Hoopa with 2 Specs Clanging Scales."

Drapion by The Bill Cipher
The submitted set lacks some optimization but the idea of a bulky Drapion as an answer to Hoopa still applies for a consideration as a spot for a check. For starters, being a designated Hoopa check this Drapion should at least outspeed Timid Hoopa, while some SpDef investment can help with surviving multiple Focus Blast or the Z-move. Pursuit can help remove Hoopa from the game entirely and is safe to click after some prior damage. The set should look something like this:

Drapion @ Black Sludge
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 248 HP / 4 Atk / 200 SpD / 56 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Poison Jab
- Knock Off
- Pursuit
- Toxic Spikes/Taunt

4 Atk Drapion Knock Off vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hoopa: 388-460 (128.9 - 152.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
4 Atk Drapion Pursuit vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hoopa: 240-288 (79.7 - 95.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (some attack investment to always kill Hoopa using Pursuit without prior Subsitute damage is worth considering)

248 SpA Hoopa Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Drapion: 145-171 (42.2 - 49.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Black Sludge recovery
248 SpA Hoopa All-Out Pummeling (190 BP) vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Drapion: 230-271 (67 - 79%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

Araquanid by JonathanXtreme
"Due to Araquanid's natural bulk, it can always take a +2 Shadow Ball or All-Out Pummeling as long as rocks are off the field, and then OHKO with Liquidation."

Sableye by tyrantytar
As long as hazards are off the field, SpDef Sableye can tank 2 Shadow Balls or a +2 boosted Shadow Ball (still subjective to damage rolls). However, Sableye will lose to Hoopa in 3 out of 4 scenarios (Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, Subsitute) on the switch when taking only one layer of any damaging hazard into consideration.

248 SpA Hoopa Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Sableye: 136-162 (44.8 - 53.4%) -- 89.5% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
+2 248 SpA Hoopa Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Sableye: 273-322 (90 - 106.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Counters:

Chesnaught by Alolan Grumeaux
Being immune to both means of attack and capable of blocking the Z-move with Spikey shield, Bulletproof Chesnaught can be considered a true counter to SubNP Hoopa (Woe to they who encounters a variant with Psychic coverage though...).

Umbreon by Ov3r Ac3
Sucker Punch is a nifty tech that will definitely surprise any Hoopa and take it out in the process. Regardless of the scenario, Umbreon will be able to come in on any move, tank the the hit or play around Subsitute, and OHKO with Sucker Punch on the turn the Z-move or another Focus Blast is predicted to be targeted at Umbreon. A problematic scenario could arise if the Hoopa player does decide to use Substitute one more time (maybe predicting a Protect) on the turn Sucker Punch is selected. Other than this slight risk the surprise factor is most definitely in the Umbreon player's favour.

However, be aware NOT to run a Calm nature on this set:

0- Atk Umbreon Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hoopa: 232-280 (77 - 93%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
vs.
0 Atk Umbreon Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hoopa: 324-384 (107.6 - 127.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

We have been lenient with it so far but from now on, please ALWAYS INCLUDE DAMAGE CALCULATIONS IN YOUR SUBMISSIONS!
Going forward, we will ignore submissions without any.

Due to concerns regarding the future of this project, we have decided to put it on hold for a week,
giving us time to address some issues that we have ran into.

We are here with one final week, the 30th week of SM RU Victim of the Week!
(Afterwards this project will transition right into USM, starting fresh at Week #1!)

The 30th victim of the week is an abomination of a monster indeed:
It is that part of the year again. Winter is coming. Be wary as you step into the chilly woods, because you might encounter a monster beyond expectations...

MEGA ABOMASNOW

Abomasnow-Mega @ Abomasite
Ability: Soundproof
EVs: 84 Atk / 240 SpA / 184 Spe
Rash Nature
- Ice Shard
- Giga Drain
- Focus Blast
- Blizzard

Snow Warning enables it to freeze the opponent in a storm of 100% accurate Blizzard's, whilst picking off weakened opponents with priority Ice Shard.
Pay attention, because if you're careless it might (Giga) drain all your Pokémon's life force!
If it focuses enough it can even put a dent in the most sturdiest of steel types - what a blast!
Now, enough with the bad puns - How do you deal with Mega Abomasnow?

Due to Salazzle's good typing, it can resist both of Abomasnow's STABs, tank any hit, outspeed and obliterate Abomasnow with her STABs.
248 SpA Salazzle Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Abomasnow-Mega: 684-808 (213 - 251.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Celesteela is Life

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Gyro Ball
- Protect / Psywave

Bronzong is a perfect Counter to M-Abomasnow, resisting it's STABs, being immune to EQ because of Levitate, and also taking neutral damage from Focus Blast. Zong sadly cant do too much back to Mega Aboma, but Toxic + Tect along with Gyro Ball damage whittles down Mega Abomasnow nicely, especially coupled with the fact that Aboma is weak to Rocks and Zong sets up Rocks in Aboma's face. Psywave is also an option over Tect if you want a quicker way to chip down Mega Abomasnow. (If we wanna go non-standard here Iron Head Zonger pretty much 2HKOes Aboma)

240+ SpA Abomasnow-Mega Blizzard vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Bronzong: 64-76 (18.9 - 22.4%) -- possible 5HKO after hail damage and Leftovers recovery
240+ SpA Abomasnow-Mega Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Bronzong: 94-111 (27.8 - 32.8%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after hail damage and Leftovers recovery

0 Atk Bronzong Gyro Ball (38 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Abomasnow-Mega: 72-86 (22.4 - 26.7%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after toxic damage
0 Atk Bronzong Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Abomasnow-Mega: 152-180 (47.3 - 56%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after toxic damage

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature

Rotom typing and speed are perfect to stop Abomas, it ressists both STAB moves better than Salazzle, and is faster no matter what than Abomasnow, but this set have troubles with Focus Blast, because it does a lot to Rotom. Otherwise, you can run Pain Split over Thunderbolt/Will-O-Wisp.
