[OVERVIEW]

With the ability Chlorophyll as well as base 80 Speed, Venusaur can outspeed virtually anything when the sun is up. Venusaur has a great movepool with access to powerful STAB attacks as well as the useful support move Sleep Powder. Its non-Mega Chlorophyll set takes advantage of its high Speed to deal good damage and spread sleep, and it has strong offensive synergy with Mega Charizard Y. When Mega-Evolved, Mega Venusaur has the ability Thick Fat, which neuters Fire- and Ice-type moves, making it only weak to Flying-, Psychic-, and Teravolt Ice-type attacks. The combination of Thick Fat and its increased stats makes Mega Venusaur a fantastic tank, especially against rain teams, and as a win condition, meaning it's great at winning the game if you remove its checks. However, both formes are weak to common Fire- and Psychic-type threats, such as Talonflame and Cresselia, and are also reliant on Sleep Powder and Leech Seed to do anything against Steel-types.

[SET]
name: Special Attacker
move 1: Giga Drain / Leaf Storm
move 2: Sludge Bomb
move 3: Sleep Powder
move 4: Protect
item: Life Orb
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Modest
evs: 160 HP / 252 SpA / 96 Spe

Moves
========

Sludge Bomb is Venusaur's strongest STAB move, allowing it to deal with threatening Fairies and opposing Grass-types while also having a chance to poison. Giga Drain's recovery adds to Venusaur's already impressive bulk and offsets Venusaur's Life Orb damage. Leaf Storm can be used instead to achieve OHKOs that Venusaur wouldn't normally get against Pokemon such as Landorus-T. Sleep Powder is an excellent support move in the Doubles metagame, where there is no Sleep Clause, and Venusaur is almost always guaranteed to go before your target in the sun. It has less-than-ideal accuracy, but it helps maintain momentum by stopping Pokemon which Venusaur cannot KO and makes Venusaur useful against Steel-types, which wall its STAB attacks. Protect keeps Venusaur safe while its partner deals with any potential threats and while Charizard Mega Evolves to get sun up.

Set Details
========

The Speed investment makes Venusaur one of the fastest Pokemon in the game while sun is up, outspeeding nearly all of the common Choice Scarf users. It also lets Venusaur outspeed maximum Speed Deoxys-A. Full investment in Special Attack, a Modest nature, and a Life Orb allow Venusaur to become a powerful offensive threat. The remaining EVs are put into HP to allow Venusaur to make the most of its good defensive typing and ability to switch in on Water-types, especially Politoed.

Usage Tips
========

Sun is essential for Venusaur to reach its full potential, as its Speed is its greatest asset. It functions best as a lead to apply offensive pressure or to sleep spam threats, allowing you to gain momentum. It's also great at walling Pokemon such as Amoonguss, as its Grass typing makes Venusaur immune to powder moves. Lastly, be cautious against foes that might have Safety Goggles, such as Rotom-H and Cresselia.

Team Options
========

Venusaur should always be paired with Mega Charizard Y, as it's the only viable Drought user in the tier. Venusaur and Mega Charizard Y also have excellent synergy. Venusaur checks Rock-types, particularly Mega Diancie and Terrakion, for Mega Charizard Y, as well as Water-types that resist Mega Charizard Y's Fire-type attacks, particularly Politoed, which can replace the sun, and serves as a Trick Room check with Sleep Powder. In return, Mega Charizard Y checks Steel-types, such as Aegislash and Ferrothorn, for Venusaur. Venusaur can also put Pokemon that threaten both Mega Charizard Y and Venusaur to sleep. If the sun is up, Venusaur can switch into resisted hits, as well as Amoonguss and Breloom thanks to Venusaur's immunity to powder moves. Heatran and Talonflame checks are extremely important because they counter both Venusaur and Mega Charizard Y. Good checks include Gyarados, Rotom-W, Quick Guard Keldeo, Landorus-T, and Terrakion. Terrakion checks Rotom-H, Talonflame, and Heatran and has its Water weakness removed in the sun. Venusaur in return checks Fairy- and Water-types that threaten it.

[SET]
name: Mega Tank
move 1: Giga Drain
move 2: Sludge Bomb
move 3: Sleep Powder / Leech Seed / Synthesis
move 4: Protect
item: Venusaurite
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Modest
evs: 200 HP / 252 SpA / 56 Spe

Moves
========

Giga Drain's recovery adds to Mega Venusaur's already impressive bulk. Sludge Bomb is Mega Venusaur's strongest STAB move, allowing it to deal with threatening Fairies and also possibly poison foes to aid residual damage from Leech Seed. Sleep Powder is an excellent support move in the Doubles metagame, which doesn't have a Sleep clause, and thanks to Mega Venusaur's improved bulk, it's great at spreading sleep. Leech Seed can be used instead of Sleep Powder as a means of both passive damage and recovery for Mega Venusaur and its teammate's switch-ins. Synthesis is another option, as it provides more reliable recovery and adds to Mega Venusaur's already great bulk. Protect keeps Mega Venusaur safe while its partner deals with any possible threats, such as Talonflame.

Set Details
========

Venusaurite is required in order for Venusaur to Mega Evolve. Thick Fat neutralizes Mega Venusaur's biggest weaknesses, Fire- and Ice-type moves, making it only weak against Psychic- and Flying-type attacks. Maximum Special Attack investment with a Modest nature allows Venusaur to deal the most damage possible, as well as maximizing health restored from Giga Drain. 56 Speed EVs are enough to outspeed standard Rotom-W to hit before Will-o-Wisp. The remaining EVs are put into HP to improve overall bulk.

Usage Tips
========

Mega Venusaur works excellently late-game, as it walls most weakened Pokemon and can then stall with Leech Seed or Synthesis or spam Sludge Bomb. With Sleep Powder, it also can be used early-game to put threats to sleep, allowing you to gain momentum. Mega Venusaur is a fantastic rain counter, able to wall or defeat big rain threats such as Mega Swampert, Kingdra, and Ludicolo. Choosing to not Mega Evolve Venusaur can also help you get an edge against opposing sun teams.

Team Options
========

Heatran is a good partner to Mega Venusaur due to the fact that it can dish out a super-effective Heat Wave versus Steel-types that Mega Venusaur would normally have some trouble against, such as Aegislash, Genesect, and Ferrothorn. Heatran also brings some useful resists to the table that Mega Venusaur appreciates, most notably resistances to Psychic- and Flying-type attacks. Mega Venusaur also helps Heatran in return by being arguably the best counter to Rain teams in the metagame, against which Heatran is often dead weight. Quick Guard users such as Keldeo or Terrakion can assist Mega Venusaur by protecting it from Talonflame's Brave Bird. Keldeo and Terrakion are also capable of getting rid of Mega Kangaskhan, who hits Mega Venusaur too hard to be tanked, and Kyurem-B, who hits Mega Venusaur with a super effective STAB Ice Beam, thanks to Teravolt. Terrakion in particular also helps remove Mega Charizard Y. Furthermore, Keldeo, Terrakion, or other Fire-type resists like Suicune can get rid of certain Fire-types that Mega Venusaur does not fare well against, especially Heatran. In return, Mega Venusaur helps Terrakion and Keldeo by easily switching into Mega Diancie and bulky waters. Rotom-W, Thundurus, or other Electric-types can switch into Flying-types for Mega Venusaur, increasing its longevity. Powerful Dark- and Ghost-types such as Bisharp, Aegislash, and Darkrai can get rid of Psychic-type threats, specifically Latios and Cresselia.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Growth can be run on either set to make Venusaur a huge offensive threat, but it's typically not worth sacrificing a moveslot for. Leaf Storm can be run on Mega Venusaur to get OHKOes it wouldn't achieve with Giga Drain (such as against Rotom-W or Politoed), but it's pretty team-specific and not as reliable as Giga Drain overall. Wide Lens can be used instead of Life Orb to increase Sleep Powder's accuracy, but the decrease in power is very noticeable. String Shot can be run on either set for speed control. Hidden Power Ground is one of Venusaur's few coverage options to hit Steel-types, mainly Heatran, but this is a weakness that's typically better covered by another teammate, since Venusaur does not want to give up any of its moves.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Typing Advantage**: Powerful Fire-types such as Mega Charizard Y and Heatran threaten non-Mega Venusaur. Flying- and Psychic-types such as Latios and Talonflame also greatly threaten both regular and Mega Venusaur. Talonflame not only has a typing advantage but outspeeds even Venusaur in sun thanks to Gale Wings. Common Steel-types such as Escavalier, Ferrothorn, Mega Metagross, and Aegislash are immune to Venusaur's Poison-type moves and resist Grass. Many are also immune to Sleep Powder. Kyurem-B easily handles both formes of Venusaur, as Teravolt ignores Thick Fat.

**Opposing Weather**: Sand, rain, and hail remove Venusaur's Speed boost. However, Venusaur fares pretty well against Politoed one-on-one.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Mega Kangaskhan fares well against Mega Venusaur, as it doesn't care about Mega Venusaur's resistances and deals too much damage for Mega Venusaur to tank, KOing with Fake Out + Double-Edge. However, Mega Kangaskhan doesn't like Sleep Powder.

**Utility Moves**: Taunt users such as Thundurus and Sableye disable Venusaur's essential support moves.

**Speed Control**: Trick Room and paralysis users such as Cresselia, Thundurus, and Jirachi neuter Venusaur's high Speed and put it at a disadvantage.

**Safety Goggles**: Common Safety Goggles users such as Aegislash, Rotom-H, and Cresselia shut down Venusaur's sleep spam strategies, and many of the common Safety Goggles users also have typing advantages against Venusaur.

Not QC, just suggestions. (They are P much all for the mega set because I know jack about chlorosaur).

On the mega set, you've put under moves that Sleep Powder is almost guaranteed to move before your opponent in the sun, but using a mega means that unless you have a Ninetails, you're already using your mega slot for Venu so it seems weird to mention sun on the mega set. I guess you could put in a mention that if you see opposing sun, you can not mega in an attempt to sleep the opponents Charizard Y. That could probably go in other options or usage tips

56 Speed on megasaur will outspeed 0 speed Rotom-W, or could even go 64 to creep the 4 speed variant (But I know analysis' don't like putting creeps up so 56 probably fits better).

You should mention that Megasaur actually likes rain most of the time, as with the rain up it technically resists fire factoring in Thick Fat. Venu can block Mega Swamp, Ludicolo and Kingra quite well;

Swampert
252+ Atk Mega Swampert Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Venusaur: 126-148 (34.6 - 40.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Giga Drain vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mega Swampert: 472-564 (116.8 - 139.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Ludicolo
252+ SpA Ludicolo Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Thick Fat Mega Venusaur: 72-86 (19.7 - 23.6%) -- possible 5HKO
252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Sludge Bomb vs. 104 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Ludicolo: 206-246 (62.9 - 75.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Kingdra
252+ SpA Kingdra Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mega Venusaur: 160-190 (43.9 - 52.1%) -- 17.2% chance to 2HKO (Its not a 2HKO, the -2 prevents the 2HKO)
252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Sludge Bomb vs. 168 HP / 0 SpD Kingdra: 162-192 (48.6 - 57.6%) -- 94.9% chance to 2HKO

Being able to block all these mons is important and deserves a mention imo. Megasaur I guess could perform well against sand, non mega TTar can 3HKO with Crunch, but gets outsped and 3HKO'd by Giga if sand is up. Excadrill has about 21% chance to 2HKO with Iron Head, but is clean 2HKOed by Giga Drain, and Exca's high HP stat will recover a nice bit of health, making Iron Head into a 3HKO at best.

Mention Leaf Storm in other options, its kinda team specific but it gets alot of KO's that Giga Drain won't;

Rotom-W
252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Giga Drain vs. 252 HP / 120+ SpD Rotom-W: 200-236 (65.7 - 77.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Leaf Storm vs. 252 HP / 120+ SpD Rotom-W: 342-404 (112.5 - 132.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Keldeo
252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Giga Drain vs. 24 HP / 0 SpD Keldeo: 282-332 (85.7 - 100.9%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Leaf Storm vs. 24 HP / 0 SpD Keldeo: 488-576 (148.3 - 175%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Mega Diancie
252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Diancie: 182-216 (75.5 - 89.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Diancie: 314-372 (130.2 - 154.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Heatran needs a mention in team options, as it resists all 4 of Venus weaknesses, and can deal with Steels that it can't hit. It also gets Ancient Power to fuck with Tflame if need be. Jirachi also seems good as Megasaur likes speed control (Icy Wind and Twave), resists Flying, Psychic and Ice and can use Follow Me to help get a kill, a sleep or a Leech Seed off.

Check with QC team before adding any of this though.

That was a mistake by me, I copied and pasted the explanation from the regular Venusaur set and forgot to change it lol.

All these suggestions seem make sense to me, I'll implement them for now, and if someone on QC team doesn't like it, I'll simply remove it. Thanks Space :]

Overview:
  • Call mega Venu the good Tank, not the best defensive mega Evolution, cause doubles dont care about defensive pokemon
  • Mega Venu is da bes Rain counter
  • Take out the last bullet cause it implies all venu is weak to rain and hail, but mega destroys both.
Set #1:
  • Slash Leaf Storm behind giga drain cause the power makes a huge difference. For example, Venusaur wants the OHKO on Mega Diancie (who rips Zard appart)
  • No black sludge
  • do enough speed evs to outspeed max deoxys-A cause that's the most relevant threat. It was around 96 spe EVs idr tho
Usage Tips:
  • Be cautious vs things that might have safety goggles like Rotom-H.
Team Options:
  • Heatran killers (it beats both zardY and Venu)
Set 2:

Usage Tips:
  • I would never pair Mega Venu with rain. Rain uses megas like Diancie and Manectric that don't die to Zard Y
Other Options:
  • String Shot for Speed Control
  • HP Ground for Steels mainly Tran
Checks & Counters:
  • Specify which checks beat which sets
  • Safety Goggles Rotom-H/Aegislash
  • Stuff that hits hard like Mega Kanga

put more steel types in checks & counters, and mention that mega venu can avoid mega evolving to dick with with sun teams in usage tips

Am check

Overview:
  • Maybe mention it does outspeed the entire non-boosted metagame while the sun is up
  • It gets access to reliable healing, aswell as sleep, residual healing from Leech Seed and health draining from Giga Drain, mention this in either the part about how tanky the mega can be or in the movepool section.
Special attacking set, moves:
  • Mention that Sludge Bomb can poison foes
  • Put that Giga Drain helps deal with the LO recoil
Mega set, moves:
  • Again, mention that Sludge Bomb can poison things and aid residual damage from Leech Seed
Set details:
  • "Max Special Attack for dealing the most damage possible" - Add "and maximising health drains from Giga Drain" to the end imo

Overview
  • "Great movepool with access to powerful STAB attacks, as well as reliable healing and sleep" - instead of the stuff after the comma, mention useful support moves most notably Sleep Powder. That's the only one commonly used, with Leech Seed being second.
  • Chlorophyll set. Abuses it's fast speed to either deal good damage or abuse Sleep, and has strong offensive synergy with Charizard-Y. (Also, when you said it's the fastest Pokemon, you forgot to mention only in sun)
  • When Mega Evolved, it's the stat boosts and Thick Fat that makes Mega Ven a fantastic tank, not just Thick Fat. Also say neutralises some of its threats, not all of them. Arguably its biggest threat, Talonflame, is not neutralised. Mention that Mega Ven is used for its ability to tank many different Pokemon, especially against rain teams, and as a checkmate condition (by this, I mean it's great at winning the game if you remove its checks)
  • Can add reliant on Sleep Powder and Leech Seed to do anything against Steel-typess

Special attacker set
  • Swap the order of moveslot 1 and 2. Your Grass-type coverage is more important for a sun team
  • Mention Sleep Powder makes Venusaur useful against Steel-types who wall your STABs
  • You forgot to update the EV spread from Lolk's suggestion. Should be 160 HP / 252 SpA / 96 Spe in order to outspeed positive nature Deoxys-A in addition to many Choice Scarf users, such as neutral nature Landorus-T and Kyurem-B.
  • Remove Black Sludge from the set, as Lolk said too. Seriously it shouldn't be mentioned anywhere in the analysis

Usage tips
  • Mention the best used as a lead before beating powder users
  • Mention lead alongside Charizard so that it can Mega Evolve turn 1 so you get the speed boost the next turn. Turn 1 you may need to Protect against faster foes until you can outspeed them in the sun next time.
  • Mention that if sun is up, you can switch Venusaur into resists as well as Amoonguss and Breloom thanks to Venusaur's immunity to powder moves - you can remove everything else you have about powder moves (repeat, and Amoonguss and Breloom are the only relevant powder users).
  • Mention you should use Sleep Powder against foes that Venusaur cannot get past with its STABs and especially so if Zard Y cannot either, such as Heatran.
Team Options
  • Dwell more into the synergy with Charizard-Y. It checks Rock-types for Mega Zard-Y, especially Mega Diancie and Terrakion, and Water-types who resist Zard's Fire-type attacks such as Rotom-W and particularly Politoed who can remove the sun. In return Zard Y checks Steel-types for Ven like Aegislash and Ferrothorn. It can also sleep Pokemon that threaten both Zard Y and Venusaur.
  • You mention Water-types checking Heatran, but you need to mention that their STAbs deal halved damage in sun. Non-weather dependent checks should be mentioned too, such as Lando-T and Keldeo. You can also mention Rotom-W checks Talonflame even inside sun.
  • Mention Aegislash as Wide Guard user for Heat Wave before Hitmontop (Top isn't as common these days). Also protects against Icy Win
  • Terrakion works well. Checks Rotom-H, Talonflame with Quick Guard, and Heatran. Ven in return checks Fairy-types and Water-types (note Terraion's Water-type weakness is removed in sun).
Mega set
-Call it Mega Tank, not bulky wall. Tank implies you can deal damage back; a wall is more Blissey

Moves
-Add that with Mega Ven's bulk, it is great at spreading sleep
-Leech Seed can also be used for passive damage (not just healing)
-Give an explanation for Protect
-I would AC the option of using another support move instead of Protect

Usage Tips
-mention the dot point about rain counter 3rd. the two points right below it are more important

Team Options
-Heatran is also good because Venusaur can check Water-types and switch into Water-type and Fighting-types attacks for Heatran
-WIth Jirachi, you should start off with saying it can use Follow Me to redirect the Psychic- and FLying-type attacks that Ven is weak to. Don't mention anything else about Follow Me as Ven isn't weak to Ice, and apart from its weaknesses does not need help using an attack. Mention Icy Wind too with TWave
-Mention Water-types, as Ven is quite good as part of FWG cores and as a switch-in to Electric-type attacks and Grass-types attacks (note do not say check to Grass-types). Rotom-W is a good example as it checks Talonflame very well. Can also mention the aforementioned Suicune.
-With Quick Guard users, I'd mention Keldeo before Top, as Top isn't as good as it used to be.

Other Options
-
mention an example of a OHKO gotten with Leaf Storm - Rotom-W and Politoed are good examples
-otherwise good

Checks and counters
-Mention Typing Advantage 1st; it's relevant for both sets
  • Steel-types also resist Grass-STAB
  • Bisharp is not immune to powder moves
  • Mega Metagross needs to be mentioned - small chance to OHKO with Zen Headbutt
-Opposing weather they remove the Chlorophyll boost from Ven in its regular base form. Note that otherwise Venusaur fairs well against Politoed 1v1
-**Strong Physical Attackers** You don't seem to understand this tag. This is aimed at Mega Ven. Mega Venusaur relies on its resists and good bulk to tank opposing threats. Therefore, Mega Kangaskhan fairs well as it odesn't care about its resists and deals too much damage for Mega Ven to tank, OHKOIng with Fake Out + Double Edge. It is literally the only Pokemon to mention here, as other Pokemon who can outmuscle Ven have a typing advantage e.g. Mega Zard Y, Mega Mawile, Hydreigon. Mention that Kang doesn't like Sleep Powder though.
-Sped control - mention Thundurus and Jirachi over Togekiss - Togekiss is weak to Sludge Bomb
-Miscellanous
  • Also mention the typing advantage of the Safety Goggles users over Venusaur. Cresselia is also worth mentioning

Overview
  • Minor, but don't pluralize moves. Sleep Powder is it's only good support option. (i mean it gets light screen but that's just bad on venu)
Moves
  • Sleep Powder also helps maintain momentum by hitting predicted switchins
  • Talk about using Protect whilst you get sun up by going mega w/ zard
Usage Tips
  • I'd mention Cresselia alongside Rotom-H since it takes 0 from Venu and hits back w/ a super effective stat
Team Options
  • Mention Terrakion in your Heatran section, also gets Quick Guard so it helps w/ Talonflame and Fake Out

MVenu set was good

Checks and Counters
  • Kyurem-B kinda wrecks both, Terravolt means Ice Beam ignored Thick Fat

minor things: Thunderous is spelt Thundurus in mons, Rotom-W has no space, no hyphen in Mega Charizard Y, try to avoid saying like -> use such as instead.

update for 2/3

Overview:
  • "When Mega Evolved, the ability Thick Fat neutralizes some of its biggest threats, making it only weak to Flying and Psychic moves." - Say Thick Fat nullifies it's Fire / Ice weaknesses instead of neutralizes some of its biggest threats
Chlorosaur Moves:
  • Mention Sludge Bomb allows it to deal with opposing Grass types as well as Fairy types
  • Mention Sleep Powder, while useful, has less than ideal accuracy
Chlorosaur Team Options:
  • " Speaking of powder, Sleep Powder should be used against foes that Venusaur cannot get past with its STABs and especially so if Zard Y cannot either, such as Heatran." - Not sure this is the best example as Overheat is the most common 3rd move choice on Mega Charizard, and if Sleep Powder misses Heatran, Venusaur will get KOed or Heatran will sub. Just think its a risky move.
Mega Moves:
  • "Mega Venusar is an example of a Pokemon that doesn't need to run Protect" - Not sure I agree with this, Talonflame and Skymin cause huge issues for Venusaur in general, no Protect will be a problem as Kyurem-B doesn't care about Thick Fat either because Teravolt

Mention Wide Lens in Other Options. I'm not a huge fan of the item, but I know some good users do use it, and having better accuracy on Sleep Powder can be very nice (obviously).

Overview
########
With the ability Chlorophyll as well as base 80 speed Speed, Venusaur can become one of the fastest Pokemon available, as it can outspeed virtually anything when the sun is up. Venusaur has a great movepool with access to powerful STAB attacks as well as the useful support move Sleep Powder. With its Its non-megaMega Chlorophyll set, (RC) it abuses it's (remove apostrophe) fast speed to deal good damage and abuse spread Sleep sleep, and has strong offensive synergy with Charizard-Y Mega Charizard Y. When Mega Evolved, the ability Thick Fat nullifies neuters Fire- (add hyphen) and Ice-type moves, making it only weak to Flying- (add hyphen) and Pschic Psychic-type attacks. The combination of Thick Fat with its increased stats with makes Mega Venusaur a fantastic tank, especially against rain teams and as a checkmate win condition (in other words, it's great at winning the game if you remove its checks) (can be trimmed down easily). However, both formes are weak to common Fire- (add hyphen) and Psychic-type threats, (AC) like Talonflame and Cresselia, and are also reliant on Sleep Powder and Leech Seed to do anything against Steel-types.

Special Attacker
########
name: Special Attacker
move 1: Giga Drain / Leaf Storm
move 2: Sludge Bomb
move 3: Sleep Powder
move 4: Protect
ability: Chlorophyll
item: Life Orb
evs: 160 HP/ 252 SpA / 96 Spe
nature: Modest

Moves
========
Sludge Bomb is Venusaur's strongest STAB move, allowing it to deal with threatening Fairies and opposing Grass-types (add hyphen), while also having a chance to poison. Giga Drain is another reliable STAB, (RC) move whose and its recovery adds to Venusaur's already impressive bulk and recovers Venusaur's Life Orb damage. Leaf Storm can be used instead to achieve OHKO's OHKOes it wouldn't normally get against Pokemon like Mega Diancie. Sleep Powder is an excellent support move in the no sleep clause doubles Doubles metagame, where there is no Sleep Clause, (AC) (Reworded to meet the Grammar standards and to sound a tad less awkward) and is almost always guaranteed to go before your target in the sun. It has less than ideal accuracy, but it helps maintain momentum by hitting predicted switch-ins, (RC) and makes Venusaur useful against Steel-types who wall its STAB attacks. Protect keeps Venusaur safe while it's (remove apostrophe) partner deals with any possible potential threats, (RC) and whilst you get sun up by going Mega with Evolving Charizard.

Set Details
========
The speed Speed investment makes Venusaur one of the fastest Pokemon in the game while Sun the sun is up, outspeeding nearly all of the common Choice Scarf users. It also outspeeds max speed Speed Deoxys-A. Full investment in special attack Special Attack, a Modest nature, and a Life Orb allows Venusaur to become a powerful offensive threat. The remaining EV's (remove apostrophe) are put into HP to allow Venusaur to make the most of recovery.

Usage Tips
========
Sun is essential for Venusaur to reach its full potential, as its speed is its greatest asset. It functions best as a lead to apply offensive pressure or to sleep spam threats, allowing you to gain momentum. It's (Add apostrophe) also great at walling Pokemon like Amoonguss, since it's (remove apostrophe) Grass typing makes Venusaur immune to powder moves. Lastly, be cautious against opponents that might have Safety Goggles like Rotom-H or Cresselia.

Team Options
========
Venusaur should ALWAYS always be paired with Mega Charizard Y, as it's (add apostrophe) the only viable Drought user in the tier. In order to get the speed boost early on, It also Venusaur should be lead alongside Charizard so that it can immediately Mega Evolve Turn 1, in order to get the speed boost the next turn. (sounds a bit less awkward I'd think) During Turn 1, Venusaur may need to Protect against faster foes until it can outspeed them in the sun the next turn. Venusaur and Mega Charizard Y also have excellent synergy. Venusaur checks Rock-types, particularly Mega Diancie and Terrakion, for Mega Mega Charizard Y, especially Mega Diancie and Terrakion, as well as Water-types who resist Charizard's Fire-type attacks, particularly Politoed, (AC) who can remove the sun. In return, Mega Charizard Y checks Steel-types, like Aegislash and Ferrothorn, for Venusaur, like Aegislash and Ferrothorn. Venusaur can also sleep put Pokemon that threaten both Mega Charizard Y and Venusaur to sleep. If the sun is up, Venusaur can switch into resists, as well as Amoonguss and Breloom thanks to Venusaur's immunity to powder moves. Speaking of powder, Sleep Powder should be used against foes that Venusaur cannot get past with its STABs and especially so if Zard Y cannot either. (Is this really needed? This has all already been stated with different wording a few sentences ago and it's just really weird wording) Venusaur also doesn't get much coverage, so support for it's (remove apostrophe) common weaknesses is greatly appreciated, such as Heatran for Fire, Thunderous for Flying, Hydregion Hydreigon for Psychic, etc. Wide Guard users, (AC) like Aegislash and Hitmontop, (AC) also protect Venusaur from moves like Heat Wave and Icy Wind. A Heatran check is specifically important because it kills both Venusaur and Mega Charizard Y. Good checks include Gyarados, Rotom-W, Keldeo, Landorus-T, and Terrakion. It is good to keep in mind that Water-type STAB's (remove apostrophe) are halved in power when the sun is up, so Rotom-W can also check Talonflame even when the sun is up. Terrakion is specifically a good partner. (remove period) , (AC) as, alongside Heatran, It it checks Rotom-H, (RC) and Talonflame with Quick Guard, Heatran, and has its Water weakness removed in the sun. Venusaur in return checks Fairy- (Add hyphen) and Water-types that threaten it

Mega Tank
########
name: Mega Tank
move 1: Giga Drain
move 2: Sludge Bomb
move 3: Sleep Powder / Leech Seed / Synthesis
move 4: Protect
ability: Chlorophyll -> Thick Fat
item: Venusaurite
evs: 200 HP / 252 SpA / 56 Spe
nature: Modest

Moves
========
Giga Drain's recovery ability adds to Venusaur's already impressive bulk. Sludge Bomb is Venusaur's strongest STAB move, allowing it to deal with threatening Fairies, (RC) and also possibly poison opponents and aid to stack residual damage from Leech Seed. Sleep Powder is an excellent support move in the no sleep clause doubles Doubles metagame, (AC) which doesn't have a sleep clause, and . (add period) thanks Thanks to Mega Venusaur's improved bulk, it's (add apostrophe) great at spreading sleep. Leech Seed can be used instead of Sleep Powder as a means of both passive damage, (RC) and recovery for yourself and your switch-ins. Synthesis is another option, (AC) as it provides more reliable recovery and adds to Mega Venusaur's already insane bulk. Protect keeps Venusaur safe while it's (add apostrophe) partner deals with any possible threats, such as Talonflame.

Set Details
========
Venusaurite is required in order for Venusaur to Mega Evolve. Thick Fat neutralizes Venusaur's biggest weaknesses, Fire- (add hyphen) and Ice-type moves, making and makes it only weak against Psychic- (add hyphen) and Flying-type attacks. Max special attack Special Attack and with a Modest nature is for dealing the most damage possible, as well as maximizing health drains from Giga Drain. 56 Speed EVs are enough to outspeeds standard Rotom-W. The Remaining EV's remaining EVs are put into HP for the most to improve overall bulk

Usage Tips
========
Venusaur works excellent late game, as it walls most weakened Pokemon, then stalls with Leech Seed, (RC) and Synthesis, (RC) or spams Sludge Bomb. With access to Sleep Powder, it also can be used early game to sleep threats aways put threats to sleep, allowing you to gain momentum. Mega Venusaur is a fantastic Rain rain counter, able to wall or defeat big rain threats such as Mega Swampert, Kingdra, and Ludicolo. Keeping Choosing to not Mega Evolve (You Mega Evolve the Pokemon, the Pokemon doesn't Mega Evolve itself) Venusaur from Mega Evolving can also help you get an edge against opposing sun teams

Team Options
========
Since Mega Venusaur is only weak to Flying- (add hyphen) and Psychic-type moves, (RC) and has basically no coverage moves, checks for these types, (AC) like Thundurus and Scrafty, (AC) make excellent partners. Heatran is excellent alongside Venusaur, (AC) as it resists all of Venusaur's weaknesses, (RC) and can hit Steel-types (add hyphen) that Venusaur can't touch. It's (add apostrophe) also good because Venusaur can check Water-types and switch into Water-type and Fighting-types attacks for Heatran. Jirachi is also a good partner, as it can redirect Psychic- (add hyphen) and Flying-type attacks the that Mega Venusaur is weak to with Follow Me, (RC) and provide Speed control with Thunder Wave and Icy Wind. Tailwind support can is also be appreciated to allow Venusaur to outspeed bulky water Water-types like Rotom-W or Politoad Politoed. Some good setters include Togekiss or and Suicune. Water-types (add hyphen) in general work great, as Mega Venusaur is quite good in Fire / Water / Grass (added spacing) cores. Mega Venusaur can switch into Electric- (add hyphen) and Grass-type (add hyphen) attacks. Rotom-W is a good example, (AC) as it can check Talonflame very well. Suicune is another good Water type. Quick Guard users, (AC) like Keldeo, (AC) also help out Mega Venusaur against one of its biggest weaknesses, Talonflame's Brave Bird

Other Options
########
Growth can be run on either set to make Venusaur a huge offensive threat, but it's (add apostrophe) typically not worth sacrificing a moveslot for. Leaf Storm can be run on Mega Venusaur to get OHKO's OHKOes it wouldn't achieve with Giga Drain (such as against Rotom-W or Politoed), but it's pretty team specific and not as reliable as Giga Drain overall. String Shot can be run on either set for speed control. HP Ground is one of Venusaur's few coverage options to hit Steel-types (add hyphen), mainly Heatran, but it's a minor weakness that's (add apostrophe) typically better covered by another teammate.

Checks & Counters
########
**Typing Advantage**
Powerful Fire-types (add hyphen) like Mega Charizard Y and Heatran threaten regular non-Mega Venusaur. Flying- (add hyphen) and Psychic-types (add hyphen) like Latios and Talonflame also greatly threaten regular and Mega Venusaur. Common Steel-types (add hyphen) like Escavalier, Ferrothorn, Mega Metagross, and Aegislash are immune to Venusaur's Poison-type moves and resist Grass STAB's. Many are also immune to Sleep Powder. Kyurem-B wreaks both Venusaur, as Terravolt means Ice Beam Thick Fat is ignored by Thick Fat Teravolt.

**Opposing Weather**
Sand, Rain rain, and Hail hail remove regular non-Mega Venusaur's Speed boost. Otherwise However, Venusaur fairs fares pretty well against Politoed one-on-one (add hyphens).

**Strong Physical Attackers**
Mega Kangaskhan fairs fares well against Mega Venusaur, as it doesn't care about Mega Venusaur's resists and deals too much damage for Mega Venusaur to tank, OHKOing KOing (not sure if KOing or 2HKOing should be used here, due to Kanga's Parental Bond :/ But it certainly isn't a true OHKO) with Fake Out + Double Edge. However, Mega Kangaskhan doesn't like Sleep Powder.

**Utility Moves**
Taunt users like Thundurus and Sableye disable Venusaur's essential support moves.

**Speed Control**
Trick Room and Paralysis users like Cresselia and Jirachi neutralizes neuters (neutralizes just doesn't feel right, and the speed boost is not being cancelled out per se) Venusaur's high speed, and puts it at a disadvantage.

**Miscellaneous** (Wouldn't "Safety Goggles" be a more appropriate title?)
Common Safety Goggles users like Aegislash, Rotom-H, and Cresselia shut down Venusaur's sleep spam strategies, and many of the common Safety Goggles users also have typing advantages against Venusaur.
