Thing is though, I am new here so I don't has any friends.

Well gec was kind enough to make a thread as a resource for anyone looking for Pokemon. Also another tool we all have to help get to know each other is IRC, if you want #smogonwifi can be of help in getting you Pokemon for VGC or maybe even help you to learn how to RNG abuse in Gen 5. As Gen 5 abuse is ridiculously easy to do, and thanks to the researchers we have, you can even RNG on the 3DS.

Really, though, you don't need a lot of connections to get good Pokémon. The Wi-Fi forum has giveaways all the time, lots of members (myself included) have extensive Pokécheck collections of battle-ready stuff if you're ok with using that (just make sure you know how to get them without the ribbons), and there are probably other ways that I can't think of right now.

But you're a senior so you only have to worry about the 6 other senior Smogoners coming :P. Also I wouldn't mind helping you at all especially in return for free Pokemon(I suck at RNG and will get my entire team from the generous people who give free VGC Pokemon)

I don't know where you got that I was in Seniors from. It's says right in the opening post that I'm in Masters.

Well at RI there were less than 60 masters. At philly there will be a much bigger turnout so chances of finding someone on smogon early on isn't as high as it was with RI. Though if you want to make top 4 after rd 3 most likely you'll run into only player who know what there doing/Smogoners.

I'm kind of confused why people that already have byes/won regionals are attending, when it specifically says on the site that byes (and maybe travel allowances) don't stack. Are people just going so they can try and take out the competition? It'd be disappointing to have less smogon people at nationals because people with byes went to take out the competition. :(

To win more money / medal / trips? First off, travel allowances DO stack which is kind of the whole point. Winning $600 is pretty sweet, especially when you have a paid trip. Especially seeing how Nationals is open this year, how you finish at a Regionals is irrelevant unless you finish in the Top 4. If Nationals was invite-only this year, I'd understand but why should people not compete if they get the chance to? The whole point of splitting Regionals into two this year is to allow people to attend as many as possible, and those who are lucky enough to go to two should be able to capitalize off it. Just my opinion.

I'm not trying to sound like an ass or anything, but I think it's perfectly fair that several people that have already finished in the Top 4 of a fall Regional are coming. Not only does it let you practice more before Nationals, but it also allows you to potentially win more prizes. Personally, I want to finish my last season as well as I can, and if I get the opportunity to compete again, then why shouldn't I?

It's more than likely to test their team on the competition at the Regionals, because the metagames vary so greatly. It is also the meet the people on Smogon who have bad luck at Regionals and aren't often able to make it to Nationals. Plus Pokemon events are just fun.

3 months is so long. Cant wait to meet everyone. Though no matter the outcome. I'll be seeing ya guys at nats. I'll be with my two cousins(junior and senior respectively), and my two friends. Anyone know any good hotels out there? Also lunch with everyone from smogon will be fum, though im guessing it'll have to be after masters to get everyone to be there.
