Introduction Hi all,With the current season moving towards national championships, with only six U.S. regionals left, teams are being finalized. The team you bring to an event or even use on WiFi or on Pokemon Showdown should be able to deal with the all of biggest threats. No team however is or can be perfect it will always have some weakness. Then it only comes down to how well the player can play to beat that threat in practice. So what is this? In this thread each week half a team will be posted and it's down to you to make the other half of the team. Partly just for fun but also to improve team building in general. At the end of each week there will be a voting period for people to vote for whose team they feel would work best in a competitive sense. How to Take Part Below you should see half a team, then all you need to do is experiment and test your team after that what you need to do is post you team on this thread. Post Format (Move your mouse to reveal the content) Post Format (open) Post Format (close) Team Post your half of the team here in a hide tag. Set Explanations Explain your sets here. What are they? Why do they work? How does it beat common threats? What kind of synergy do they have? But also what threats are there (Remember no team is perfect)? Additional Comments Post whatever else you want here, Damage Calculations and Showdown Replays and what not. So long as it backs up your post. Restrictions Occasionally I may choose to throw in additional challenge and restrictions to what each team must or mustn't have these may include but not exclusive to: You must include a Pokemon with Trick Room You mustn't use Mega-Kangaskhan or Rotom-Wash You must use rain but not Politoed. These restrictions will be put in place to add an additional challenge, this is to keep the exercise interesting and from getting stale. It is of course just for fun. Responses When responding to other peoples teams keep everything constructive. If something is missing from someones post or doesn't make sense ask the user politely to explain it. Remember this is supposed to be fun. That said don't be hesitant to create healthy discussion to back up you posts or question others. Voting When voting on a team it is worth looking at the teams weaknesses and resistances in the ethyr, this is to say how many Pokemon are weak to each type. If this number is higher than three is the typing checked enough, as if you have three of the same weakness you opponent can bring a Pokemon that deals with these Pokemon guaranteeing it some use in the battle. Then it is worth looking at how many normal resistances the team has as there is no need to give Kangaskhan a field day against your team. It is also worth considering how well it deals with the Pokemon and field effects on the checklist. How well the team actually plays in practice however is probably the most important factor. Whichever team you think is best is the one that should get your vote. Resources Speed Tiers Team Building Checklist Team Builder It is fair to say I will continue editing this until it is finished.
