Takes any hit from Mega Ampharos.
0 Atk Tangrowth Earthquake vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Ampharos: 138-164 (42.8 - 50.9%) -- 3.9% chance to 2HKO

Doesn't do much back, but takes nothing

I had already gotten Mega Altaria typed out then I noticed a reservation that appeared...ah well.
Tangrowth isn't really a counter, you can switch in against 2 D-Pulses, but since you have no reliable recovery and can't OHKO back, you are more so of a check.

Clefable as a Counter

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Calm Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Flamethrower

Everyone's favorite pink blob not named Chansey or Blissey is able to avoid a 2HKO after rocks. Upon switch-in it is free to recover if needed or fire off a moonblast to 2HKO.

Calcs:

252+ SpA Mold Breaker Mega Ampharos Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 96+ SpD Clefable: 172-204 (43.6 - 51.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Clefable Moonblast vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Mega Ampharos: 182-216 (56.5 - 67%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

PP may be an issue, but I believe clef is capable of stalling it out just fine, even in a worst-case scenario.

Assault Vest Conkeldurr avoids the 2HKO from any move, even Thunderbolt, and 2HKOes back with Ice Punch. Is not a counter because it lacks recovery and if it switches into Mega Ampharos manually it loses to three Thunderbolts.

So Cress Handles Ampharos Pretty well, skill swap is for other stuff. Ice beam is a solid attacking option to hit Ampharos as well as other popular ground types that it also switchs in on. skill swap is unrelated to this weeks choice, but it is for -Ate abilities as well as Azu/Diggersby. Twave and Toxic are fine options that are interchangable, but this Cress is designed to beat mega ampharos so I'd suggest using toxic. Moonlight is the best reliable recovery cresselia gets. I run 4 speed evs on Cress because im always paranoid people are going to speed creep me :O. Thank you for reading this, first VOTW post hope i get the format right :]

Gardevoir-Mega @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 56 HP/ 252 SpA/ 200 Spe
Modest Nature
-Taunt
-Hyper Voice
-Psyshock
-Focus Blast

I'd like to use grandpa jam's MGarde spread, because it quickly became my new favorite, but really any works. Mega Garde seves as a one-time counter being able to switch in and avoid an OHKO from Thunderbolt even with a crit.

252+ SpA Mold Breaker Mega Ampharos Thunderbolt vs. 56 HP / 0 SpD Mega Gardevoir: 150-177 (51.5 - 60.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Mold Breaker Mega Ampharos Focus Blast vs. 56 HP / 0 SpD Mega Gardevoir: 33-39 (11.3 - 13.4%) -- possible 8HKO

So it takes nothing from Dragon Pulse due to type, can live any Thunderbolt even with crit hax, and gets 8HKOed by Focus Blast, making it a one-time switch in. If Mega Ampharos uses Agility, then Gardevoir takes no damage and can live the next hit. If not for the solid 2HKO from Thunderbolt, I'd nominate it as a counter.

And then...

252+ SpA Pixilate Mega Gardevoir Hyper Voice vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Mega Ampharos: 462-546 (143.4 - 169.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

...yeah, that's pretty obvious. Anyway that's my first VOTW post so it's not too creative, literally went down the tier list till something sparked my intrest lol.

It can come in on 3/4 moves w/o even getting scratched. Thunder Bolt does a lot of damage but it does not 2HKOs. It can easily keep healing until either your opponent switches or crits or paras :/ But if it comes on any other move, Clefable does this :

Because Ampharos cannot boost its offense, Wobbufett's entry naturally is a death sentence to it since you can simply spam Mirror Coat without worry about Amphy boosting enough to break it; or so it seems. But in reality, it is not the case because Ampharos can take a Mirror Coat of Focus Blast. TBolt to FB to Tbolt will let Ampharos win the ordeal with Wobbs. Basically, if Wobbs comes in on Tbolt, then there will be a 50-50 of whether to Tbolt or FB; whether to Mirror Coat or Encore, which in turn makes it not a certain win for Wobbs. However, if Wobbs comes in on anything else, just spam Mirror Coat to your heart's content. Even if Ampharos decides to Agility stall, just wait until you are back to full HP from lefties, and then Encore that.

Goodra can switch into any opposing move and OHKO back with Draco Meteor (Dragon Pulse is a 2HKO). It is a check because it has 28,1% chance to be 2HKO'ed by Ampharos' Dragon Pulse. Otherwise, Focus Blast doesn't even 4HKO and Thunberbolt is 8HKO, making Goodra a good check/counter if well-played.

With the above spread, Lando-T hits an effective Speed stat of 454, plenty enough to outspeed a +2 M-Amphy (378 and 414 for Modest and Timid, respectively). He can take a hit even after rocks and OHKO back with Earthquake (or Explosion if you're so inclined, although you need rocks up to guarantee it). Not a hard counter if M-Amphy has used Agility more than once though.

Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Fairy Lock / Thunder Wave
- Play Rough

Klefki can't really switch into Thunderbolt or Focus Blast, but can obviously switch onto Dragon Pulse. Once in, it can set up a priority Light Screen and 2 or 3HKO Ampharos while taking somewhat minimal damage.

0 Atk Klefki Play Rough vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Ampharos: 156-186 (48.4 - 57.7%) -- 92.6% chance to 2HKO
252+ SpA Mold Breaker Mega Ampharos Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Klefki through Light Screen: 76-90 (23.8 - 28.3%) -- 94% chance to 4HKO

And if you do happen to switch it into Thunderbolt, it can still set up Light Screen before being KOed in order to support your next revenge killing attempt. The Fairy Lock / Thunder Wave choice falls to personal preference for other Klefki utility value; Fairy Lock ensures your opponent's Pokemon must stay in, allowing you to more reliably switch onto your next Pokemon, while Thunder Wave helps provide paralysis support overall.

Metagross @ Assault Vest
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 128 HP / 252 Atk / 128 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Bullet Punch / Zen Headbutt
- Pursuit
- Earthquake

An unusual set, but effective, nonetheless. Can't really switch in on any of Mega Ampharos's moves and revenge kill, but barely avoids the 2HKO from Thunderbolt.

252+ SpA Mold Breaker Mega Ampharos Thunderbolt vs. 128 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Metagross: 141-166 (42.3 - 49.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

In return, it can 2HKO in response with Earthquake. If Mega-Ampharos has been weakened beforehand, a combination of Bullet Punch + Earthquake can clean it up.

252+ Atk Metagross Earthquake vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Ampharos: 238-280 (73.9 - 86.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Metagross Bullet Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Ampharos: 36-42 (11.1 - 13%) -- possible 8HKO

After SR, it is almost guaranteed that Metagross will get the KO on Ampharos. I'm not superbly sure on the other moves, but Pursuit is necessary to ensure it can function well outside of checking Ampharos by easily taking most attacks from and catching Lati@s. Meteor Mash is a strong STAB move that smashes through fairies like Clefable, while Bullet Punch more easily deals with Mega Diancie and is nice priority in general. Zen Headbutt turns this set into a solid check to Scarf Keldeo as well. The speed EVs ensure that this set outspeeds 68 Spe Heatran and can KO with Earthquake before it can burn with Lava Plume.
"From Saturday - Tuesday, each person can only nominate one Pokemon" (Taken from OP)

Do what you must to follow the rules.

Also, base Metagross is a shaky check since if M-Amphy already up an Agility, like you assumed, it can outspeed and 2HKO it after SR:

252+ SpA Mold Breaker Mega Ampharos Thunderbolt vs. 128 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Metagross: 141-166 (42.3 - 49.8%) -- 29.7% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Don't really get the logic of saying "if it sets up an agility" when the whole point of this entry is implying that it's going to be getting one in the first place ._.

The logic with some of these submissions seems sort of counterproductive to the nature of what Agility Mega Ampharos would entail. I'd also, like the slashes suggest, just assume Timid being used before Modest.
