Mimikyu @ Fairium Z
Ability: Disguise
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shadow Claw
- Play Rough
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Sneak

We all know what it does. Thanks to its Disguise, Mimikyu is able to take one hit without taking damage, and then the Disguise is broken. Fairium Z is used on this specific case because Twinkle Tackle OHKOes Thundurus (in case he has already set-up), but +2 Play Rough also does the job (Unfortunately, Play Rough into Shadow Sneak doesn't).

252+ Atk Mimikyu Play Rough vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Thundurus-T: 88-105 (56.7 - 67.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Mimikyu Shadow Claw vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Thundurus-T: 69-82 (44.5 - 52.9%) -- 24.2% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Mimikyu Shadow Sneak vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Thundurus-T: 40-48 (25.8 - 30.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

252+ Atk Mimikyu Twinkle Tackle (175 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Thundurus-T: 171-202 (110.3 - 130.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252+ Atk Mimikyu Play Rough vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Thundurus-T: 177-208 (114.1 - 134.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Mimikyu Shadow Claw vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Thundurus-T: 136-162 (87.7 - 104.5%) -- 25% chance to OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Mimikyu Shadow Sneak vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Thundurus-T: 79-94 (50.9 - 60.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Thundurus-T Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Mimikyu: 79-94 (60.7 - 72.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Thundurus-T Gigavolt Havoc (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Mimikyu: 154-183 (118.4 - 140.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252 SpA Thundurus-T Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Mimikyu: 159-187 (122.3 - 143.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 SpA Thundurus-T Gigavolt Havoc (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Mimikyu: 307-363 (236.1 - 279.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Dabpert @ Rindo Berry
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 204 Def / 54 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Scald
- Yawn / Roar
- Mirror Coat / Roar / Ice Beam / Rock-type Attack

This set is made to tank DD sweepers, surviving even to attacks such as +1 DE from Adamant Mega Salamence and to live to a Solar Beam from CharY. It threatens Thundurus' life either by setting rocks in combination with Yawn, by attacking with Scald / Ice Beam or whatever, and OHKOing it with Mirror Coat if predicting a Grass Knot. Swampert is able to come into ThundT's STAB, being immune to Electric-type, and it's not 2HKOed by none of its attacks, barring Grass Knot.

252+ SpA Thundurus-T Hidden Power Ice vs. 252 HP / 54 SpD Swampert: 42-50 (20.2 - 24.1%) -- guaranteed 5HKO
252+ SpA Thundurus-T Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 54 SpD Swampert: 84-99 (40.5 - 47.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Thundurus-T Grass Knot (80 BP) vs. 252 HP / 54 SpD Rindo Berry Swampert: 112-132 (54.1 - 63.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

This set needs to predict Grass Knot on the switch in, otherwise it should threaten every Thundurus-T's set, while also working as a supporter for the team in various match-ups.

Ability: Thick fat

- Sludge Bomb
- Leech seed / Synthesis
- Hidden power fire
- Giga drain

Thanks to its high defenses, typing and ability, mega-venusaur can take almost any attack from ThundurusT. Without special attack investment, venusaur is capable of damaging almost 50% of Thundurus's life with Sludge bomb. You can use 252 HP / 92 SpA / 160 SpD to 2OHKO any non-HP/SpD thundurus. A more offensive set using modest venusaur is also recomended. HP Ice and Fire are not threats, thanks to thick fat ability. The only move you must aware is Psychic, which is not so common as focus blast, HP Ice, thunderbolt, nasty plot sets.

First time posting on this project so here goes nothing :

Entei(Assault Vest)
Adamant Nature
Ability : Pressure
EV spread : 132 HP / 252 Atk / 124 SpD

Sacred Fire
Stone Edge
Flame Charge
Bulldoze

Going with a bulky AV Entei set to handle better special hits. 1vs1 Entei pretty much fears nothing from Thundurus-T and even switching in most cases is safe. Electrium-Z set has only a very but very slim chance of 2HKO-ing while Entei from his side can OHKO with Stone Edge but due to the inaccuracy of the move you can go for the safer route of Flame Charge plus Sacred Fire. A scarfed Thundurus-T also at best 3HKOs Entei. Specifically calculations below :

252+ Atk Entei Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Thundurus-Therian: 154-182 (100 - 118.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Entei Flame Charge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Thundurus-Therian: 58-69 (37.6 - 44.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ Atk Entei Sacred Fire vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Thundurus-Therian: 115-136 (74.6 - 88.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Thundurus-Therian Gigavolt Havoc (175 BP) vs. 132 HP / 124 SpD Assault Vest Entei: 118-139 (57 - 67.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Thundurus-Therian Thunderbolt vs. 132 HP / 124 SpD Assault Vest Entei: 60-72 (28.9 - 34.7%) -- 6.6% chance to 3HKO

252 SpA Life Orb Thundurus-Therian Thunderbolt vs. 132 HP / 124 SpD Assault Vest Entei: 78-94 (37.6 - 45.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Thundurus-Therian Thunderbolt vs. 132 HP / 124 SpD Assault Vest Entei: 156-185 (75.3 - 89.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

AV Entei also is a very solid answer to Aegislash , Celesteela , fire types such as Zard-Y and Volcarona who run rampant in the format , a decent response to Tapu Koko ,Mimikyu or Gengar. Even his physical checks are highly aware of switching in on a potential Sacred Fire getting burned on the process. All in all I think he is a good addition to most of the teams out there :)

The Squash's Nihilego

Out of all the nominations for a counter, Nihilego does this the most effectively. With a super-effective STAB Power Gem, Thundurus stands no chance of withstanding that move, despite hitting it on its higher Special Defense. Add Beast Boost to the mix, and your whole team would be in deeper trouble.

It's interesting to find out that none of these nominated Pokemon resist both of Thundurus' STABs. I would've nominated itself if I could.

Voting for Noved again. Imo SpD Marowak-A is almost a perfect counter. The only thing that could threaten it is Dark Pulse, but let's be honest... If you are running DPulse on Thundurus you probably have no idea of what's happening on the screen.

The Squash

While Marowak-A may be a true counter to Thundurus-T, I don't think that set (or Marow anymore really) to be that viable overall in the metagame. Nihilego is both good in general, while also dealing with Thundurus extremely well, which gave it the edge for me.

The Squash

Nihilego sure has not many problems against Thundurus, it can take a All-Out Pummeling and his STAB hurts.
Plus, I like the sprite, the Milf-in-jellifish form is really cool.

Gonna vote for NOVED's Specially defensive Marowak. The pokemon itself might have lost viability since season 1, but it still a viable option imo and handles a bunch of other problematic stuff as well on top of being a near perfect counter for this week's pokemon.

Nihilego is a very cool anti-meta mon that has incredible matchup not only against Thundurus, but also Tapu Lele, Tapu Fini, both Charizards, Volcarona and Salamence.

I really wanna vote for Marowak because it is so sad how far it has fallen but I have to go with The Squash. Nihilego is a pretty sweet anti-meta threat right now. TFA said everything I wanted to say. If it's done right it takes out a ton of popular Pokemon.

Voting for Solerme's Swampert

It's a shame that Marowak-A lost viability after bank was released, since it's pretty much a perfect counter, and I don't like relying on Stone Miss to beat Thundurus-T. On the other hand, Swampert has the bulk to tank hits and KO back without many problems, while also being able to provide some nice utility with scald and the annoying stealth rocks + yawn combo.

Victim of The Week #9 - Porygon2

What better way to get back into it with an utter piece of shit to deal with! Porygon2 is next in line, making its notorious return from ORAS as one of the most versatile Pokemon in he metagame. If you want it done, P2 can probably do it. Eviolite with defensive and HP investements make P2 an extremely difficult wall to break, with recover giving P2 longeivity while it can gradually chip away with toxic, or coverage moves. Download makes P2 more than a wall alone, able to deal out impressive damage at +1 and pressure the opponent easily. Trick Room P2, like every other variant of P2, is also extremely annoying, able to both abuse it solo or provide support for a fully pledged TR team. So, how do you deal with Porygon2?

Submissions are open and will close in four days from now. Best of luck everyone!

^ that becames a semi-2HKO with Mach Punch hitting before in the 3rd turn.

Things get even better if Conk gets statussed, where it will have a pretty high chance to KO it in 2 moves, being hitted just once:
252+ Atk Guts Conkeldurr Drain Punch vs. 244 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Porygon2: 116-138 (60.7 - 72.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Alas, it seems that we're on opposing sides now, my digital duck friend...

Toxic Stall Aegi is a great check to Porygon2. The EVs speed creep common Porygon2 while maximizing its bulk. This set can safely switch into it, and the only move that can break its Substitute is Shadow Ball.

so this is cool cause you have two stabs that each hit a diff stat. p2 is real flexible and can run phys def or spdef so having both means you can hit whichever side is weaker. earlier in the game you can do some calcs to see what kind of variant you're facing, then choose which stab on lele to use accordingly. always gonna be doing well over a 2hko. and if spdef p2 tries to switch into this, they'll even be 2hko'd by psychic(but switching in yourself you'll ofc wanna go for psyshock if they're spdef). this is bulky just cause for this votw, usually i'd recmend speed tho generally speaking.

252+ SpA Porygon2 Thunderbolt vs. 172 HP / 124+ SpD Tapu Fini: 66-78 (39.5 - 46.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Of course this is assuming that Porygon2 doesn't have the Download boost or has Anaylitic, but Tapu Fini should be able to set up CalM Minds first to the Thunderbolt will be doing negligible damage. Porygon2 can't toxic Fini thanks to the terrain, and Taunt prevents toxic and recover stalling after Misty Terrain subsides.

Snorlax @ Iapapa Berry
Ability: Gluttony
Level: 50
EVs: 68 HP / 196 Atk / 244 Def
Brave Nature
- Curse
- Return
- High Horsepower
- Recycle

not much to explain here.
Free switch into Porygon2's presence on the field and then cursecycle stall.
Idea took from crrs 's battle.

The Aura is strong in this one.

Lucario(Lucarionite)
Nature : Jolly
Ability : Inner Focus - Adaptability
EVs : 252 Atk/252 Spe/4 Def

Swords Dance
Close Combat
Iron Tail
Extreme Speed/Bullet Punch

Mega Lucario is a very solid answer to Porygon2 and in an 1vs1 scenario it always defeats Porygon2. The Aura Monster OHKOs all offensive variants of Porygon2, only needing swords dance against the fully invested in defense Porygon2 whom from his side even with download-boosted special attacks cant kill Lucario in one hit. The only thing Lucario fears is a hidden power ground/fire from a download-boosted offensive Porygon2 on a switch-in whom has a 37.5% chance of OHKO-ing Lucario. Calcs below :

252 Atk Adaptability Lucario-Mega Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Porygon2: 156-184 (81.2 - 95.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Adaptability Lucario-Mega Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 12 Def Eviolite Porygon2: 212-252 (110.4 - 131.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 Atk Adaptability Lucario-Mega Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Porygon2: 304-360 (158.3 - 187.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+1 0 SpA Porygon2 Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Lucario-Mega: 71-84 (48.9 - 57.9%) -- 96.9% chance to 2HKO
+1 252+ SpA Porygon2 Hidden Power Fire vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Lucario-Mega: 130-154 (89.6 - 106.2%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO

A special attacker set with Nasty Plot is also very viable and in a lot of occasions even better than the physical one due to most Porygon2s less investment on the special defensive side.
Beside Porygon2, Mega Lucario is a very good answer to Mega Kang , Tapu Bulu , Mamoswine , Mimikyu , non-scarfed Tapu Lele, Hydreigon etc. In short switching in to Close Combat/Iron Tail from Mega Lucario(a nightmare at +2) will hurt badly something most of the time :)

Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off

Mega-Mawile is maybe one of the best viable counters of Porygon2. Just after pressuring Porygon2 with Knock Off, she can setup with SD and start a deadly sweep with her poweful STAB in Play Rough, and even on fast sweepers in late game with Sucker Punch.

252+ Atk Huge Power Mega Mawile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 244 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Porygon2: 54-64 (28.2 - 33.5%) -- 0.1% chance to 3HKO
+2 252+ Atk Huge Power Mawile-Mega Play Rough vs. 244 HP / 252+ Def Porygon2: 223-264 (116.7 - 138.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Even with Recover, P2 can't do really nothing. Mawile is immune to Toxic, doesn't care about TWave, resist BoltBeam combo and Foul Play.

+1 252+ SpA Porygon2 Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mega Mawile: 68-80 (43.3 - 50.9%) -- 3.9% chance to 2HKO
+1 252+ SpA Porygon2 Hidden Power Ground vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mega Mawile: 102-122 (64.9 - 77.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Besides that, Mega-Mawile good typing is very helpful in BSS, dealing with Mimikyu, Tapu Lele, Mega-Salamence and Aegislash, but be careful with Fire and Ground-types, such as Garchomp, Blaziken, Charizard and Landorus-T.
