Project Victim of the Week

Hard Check

Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Focus Blast
- Taunt

Due to it's great typing, Gengar can come in on a Moonblast (or Calm Mind) from Clefable and proceed to use Taunt to prevent it from using Thunder Wave or outright weakening it severely with Sludge Wave. Pretty straightforward.

Banned deucer.

Victini @ Choice Band
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- V-create
- Bolt Strike
- U-turn
- Trick

Due to victini's typing clefable cant really do much aside from t wave but then again victini doesnt mind it since all it takes is just 1 v-create to just decimate clef. If clef manages to get to +6 via CM it cant ohko victini with moonblast, even with rocks up while victini gets an easy ohko on it lol. Which is why victini is a Counter.

+6 0 SpA Clefable Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Victini: 195-230 (57.1 - 67.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
When you do legit 0 damage even with boosts, sad.

252+ Atk Choice Band Victini V-create vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 423-498 (107.3 - 126.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Gone.

Mega Venusaur
(counter)

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 20 Spe
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power Fire/ Roar
- Synthesis
Venusaur doesn't care about Thunder Wave and beats clefable with Sludge Bomb. Roar is used in case Clef gets too many boosts.

252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Sludge Bomb vs. +1 252 HP / 84+ SpD Clefable: 188-224 (47.7 - 56.8%) -- 38.7% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 16 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off

Nothing to say, that's a common counter for Clefable lacking of a fire move, he can switch into any move and start dancing, then it's ohko with a Bullet Punch.

+2 44 Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 398-470 (101 - 119.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
0 SpA Clefable Moonblast vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Mega Scizor: 41-48 (11.9 - 13.9%) -- possible 8HKO

Swoobat as a counter and instant rage quit

Swoobat @ Assault Vest
Ability: Klutz
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Roost
- Trick
- Psycho Shift
- Knock Off

This incredibly bad pokemon can use the age old Klutz+Trick+AV to completely ruin passive pokemon. As soon as you see clefable, switchin into it. If it moonblasts, you just roost, forcing the set up. If it calm minds, you can take the hit -- +1 0 SpA Clefable Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Swoobat: 237-280 (70.1 - 82.8%) -- and then give em the old Assault Vest Special. Then switch to anything that resist fairy. If it T-waves, just give em the AV, but if you smell a switch, psychoshift that para right back at em. This goes through magic bounce, btw, so you can switch in on mega sab and give em the burn too. Knock off is for utility. But tail wind is an option too if you want to party.

Golurk as a Counter

Golurk @ Choice Band
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Stone Edge
- Shadow Punch
- Dynamic Punch

When Clefable enters the field, switch in this pokemon. Golurk's ground typing renders it immune to Clefable's Thunder Wave. With it's special defense and neutral typing, it can also survive Clefable's Moonblast, even on a crit. Once it is out on the field, it can outspeed Clefable for a guaranteed OHKO with Heavy Slam.

252+ Atk Choice Band Golurk Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 436-514 (110.6 - 130.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
0 SpA Clefable Moonblast vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Golurk: 118-141 (36.8 - 44%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
