Counter

Slowbro @ Slowbronite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 SpD
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Psyshock
- Slack Off

Mega Slowbro is one of the few reliable defensive switch ins to Band Terrakion. Thanks to its insanely high base Defense and typing, it is able to easily take any move Terrakion can throw at is and heal off any damage lost from its attacks. Shell Armor is really awesome since it doesn't risk getting crit by Stone Edge, making it a surefire counter. It can proceed to set up Calm Mind against it, threaten it out or 2HKO with Scald or Psyshock. It is a little shaky pre-mega, since it's actually 2HKOed by Stone Edge after Stealth Rock damage, but it's generally able to find free switch ins to Mega Evolve, especially against Close Combat, so I see no real reason for it not to be a counter.

252 Atk Choice Band Terrakion Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 80+ Def Mega Slowbro: 127-150 (32.2 - 38%) -- 96.7% chance to 3HKO

0 SpA Mega Slowbro Scald vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Terrakion: 236-278 (73 - 86%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 SpA Mega Slowbro Psyshock vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Terrakion: 236-282 (73 - 87.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Banned deucer.

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 8 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock

Lando-T is everywhere, and in practice it's a very commonly used check to CB Terrak for many teams. A resistance to CC coupled with Intimidate to soften the blow from Stone Edge contributes to this. After Intimidate, Lando-T takes 33.2 - 39.2% from CB Terrak's Stone Edge. As such, it's able to switch in and use the chance to either kill Terrak with EQ, U-turn on a predicted switch to gain momentum, or lay down SR. I am classifying Lando-T as a check mainly because it's unable to switch in repeatedly due to lack of reliable recovery. Because of this, Terrak is usually able to throw around Stone Edges and wear down Lando-T to a range where it's unable to switch in safely anymore. SR being up contributes to this, turning Stone Edge into a guaranteed 3HKO. Regardless, Lando-T is still a solid and common check to CB Terrakion, fulfilling the role rather well.

PhysDef Tangrowth as a Check

Tangrowth @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 244 HP / 216 Def / 48 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Sleep Powder
- Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Leech Seed / Hidden Power Fire

With this spread, Tangrowth borderline counters CB Terrakion and avoids being 2HKOed by all of Terrakion's moves bar Close Combat, which only has slim chance to do so. However, like many other mons, Tangowth is susceptible to every kinds of hazards, and if SR are up on its side, it's almost guaranteed to be 2HKOed by Terrakion's Close Combat (all other moves still 3HKO though). In return, Tangrowth's Giga Drain easily 2HKOes Terrakion and all the HP recovered from that move, Leftovers and a switch-out are enough to replenish Tangrowth's health bar to the max, enabling it to check Terrakion a second from full HP (if no entry hazards are present, of course).
252 Atk Choice Band Terrakion Stone Edge vs. 244 HP / 216+ Def Tangrowth: 154-183 (38.3 - 45.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Choice Band Terrakion Close Combat vs. 244 HP / 216+ Def Tangrowth: 186-219 (46.2 - 54.4%) -- 5.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Choice Band Terrakion Close Combat vs. 244 HP / 216+ Def Tangrowth: 186-219 (46.2 - 54.4%) -- 97.7% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Tangrowth Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Terrakion: 192-228 (59.4 - 70.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

The best counter you can find for non-Earthquake Terrakion. Takes every hit easily and OHKO's Terrakion with Gyro Ball, while staying healthy thanks to Rest.

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power Fire

Latios can switch into every attack from Terrakion bar Stone Edge. In return it can OHKO it with Psyshock or can Roost up. Pretty self explanatory.

252 SpA Life Orb Latios Psyshock vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Terrakion: 374-439 (115.7 - 135.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 Atk Choice Band Terrakion Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Latios: 174-206 (58.1 - 68.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

: Hippowdon

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Stone Edge

(stolen from the dex) A spread of 252 HP / 252 Def gives Hippowdon the bulk to take on Mega Pinsir and Mega Charizard X, while also walling physical attackers such as Garchomp, Excadrill, and Terrakion. Such a set is better suited for stall teams that already have a check or counter to Thundurus and other Electric-types, while being a better answer to physical attackers, such as Garchomp and Excadrill.

252 Atk Choice Band Terrakion Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Hippowdon: 78-93 (18.5 - 22.1%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Choice Band Terrakion Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Hippowdon: 187-222 (44.5 - 52.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 Atk Hippowdon Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Terrakion: 260-308 (80.4 - 95.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (guaranteed OHKO after the Close Combat's Def drop)

Physical defensive Hippowdon is a counter to Jolly CB Terrakion because is 3HKOed by Close Combat and OHKOes back thanks to the Def drop. If Terrakion chooses another move, Terrakion isn't even a threat.

reeeeserving gardevoir mega~

~ elegance is good taste plus a dash of daring ~

Gardevoir @ Gardevoirite | Trace
Modest Nature | 16 HP / 8 Def / 232 SpA / 252 Spe
Hyper Voice | Psyshock | Focus Blast | Will-O-Wisp

So Mega Gardevoir is a pretty neat check to Choice Band because of it's ability to OHKO Terrakion with all three of its attacking moves, Hyper Voice dealing the most damage. Mega Gardevoir cannot switch into any move bar Close Combat, so what I usually do is I pair Gardevoir up with a Weavile, forming a wallbreaker & cleaner core, and locking Terrakion into Close Combat so that Gardevoir can come in. It only takes ~40% from it, which isn't an awful lot of health. Gardevoir can then use Hyper Voice to OHKO it, or force it out; either way, it's removed from the field. Despite Close Combat only doing less than half to Gardevoir's health, it's very prone to being worn down so Wish support from Clefable, who, when paired up with another Fairy-type, can form a Fairy-spam core, or Healing Support rom Latias.

232+ SpA Pixilate Mega Gardevoir Hyper Voice vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Terrakion: 542-638 (167.8 - 197.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

I love this pkemon, despite being very "bad" in ou, is a great, perhaps one of the best counter dedicated to Kion, also offers support hazards and hazard remover to the team, as the main psychic stab, but you can choose to utilize only psychic, earth without power as a second attacking move (in that case rest is an excellent alternative to have a health recovery)

Alakazam-Mega @ Alakazite
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Substitute

It needs a double switch or VoltTurn to enter (Banded Close Combat HURTS), but once it's in, Mega Alakazam either removes or scares Terrakion away with its STAB move. It can even come in pre-Mega thanks to its 120 base Speed in base forme. That makes it a check to Terrakion.

Against Alakazam:
252 Atk Choice Band Terrakion Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Alakazam: 206-243 (82 - 96.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Stone Edge OHKOes

252 Atk Dugtrio Reversal (200 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Terrakion: 344-406 (106.5 - 125.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Dugtrio can not only check Terrakion, it traps it too and ensures terrakion is never an issue again for the rest of the match. With a free switch dugtrio can come in and either Earthquake at no expense if Terrakion has already used Close Combat and is at -1 Defense, or if Terrakion is locked into Iron Head or Stone Edge, Dugtrio can use Endure to be able to fire off a astonishingly powerful 200 BP Reversal next turn.

Ok so since banded terrak hits hella hard, I've decided to post about mega lopunny. It's a check to Terrakion. Of course a close combat from Terrakion blows back mega lopunny but the thing in you don't need to switch in. Hj kick cleanly ohkoes Terrakion, and as mega lopunny outspeeds and threatens it. Mega lopunny can come in on an expected stone edge, iron head and quick attack. But hopefully you don't miss Hj kick. Unfortunately I cannot provide calcs since I'm on mobile and t's 1 in the morning for me lol, but oh well..

Gourgeist-Super @ Leftovers
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SpD

Not the most viable mon in OU but all the switch-ins are taken so.. Anyway, Gourgeist-S is immune to Close Combat and is only 3HKOed by Stone Edge without Stealth Rock. It can then heal up with Synthesis or cripple Terrakion with Will-O-Wisp.

252 Atk Choice Band Terrakion Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def Gourgeist-Super: 163-193 (43.5 - 51.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Pretty self explanatory, Scarfed Keldeo can outspeed Terrakion thanks to the choice scarf and OHKO it with Hydro Pump. It can also OHKO 100% with secret sword after rocks, although scald doesn't quite guarantee it. Still, if Terrakion has sustained the drops from close combat, any of keldeo's STABs will easily OHKO. Keldeo can also switch in on stone edge, although it gets torn apart by close combat.

252 SpA Keldeo Secret Sword vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Terrakion: 306-360 (94.7 - 111.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Cofagrigus @ Leftovers | Mummy
Bold Nature | 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Toxic Spikes | Pain Split | Hex | Will-O-Wisp

Cofagrigus is a great counter to Terrakion for many reasons. Firstly, it has amazing bulk and takes 40% from Stone Edge (which is the highest damage dealt by all of its moves on the current moveset), which isn't a big deal since the move is unreliable anyway. Secondly, Cofagrigus's ability means that Terrakion's contact moves will cause it to lose its ability, and this is helpful since Terrakion can use its ability to switch into Dark-type moves aimed at a partner, but now that it's gone, it's useless. Finally, it has Will-O-Wisp, which can cripple Terrakion, making Stone Edge only do 25% of damage, and it also boosts the power of Hex, which can 2HKO Terrakion after burn damage. Oh, and it can also set Toxic Spikes as a bonus :)

0 SpA Cofagrigus Hex (130 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Terrakion: 145-172 (44.8 - 53.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after burn damage

252 Atk Choice Band burned Terrakion Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Cofagrigus: 67-80 (20.9 - 25%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
