<Wigglytuff sprite goes here>
drew on yer face

[Overview]

Wigglytuff is horribly outclassed by Lickilicky and Audino, both of which have much better bulk and abilities. Despite having a larger HP stat, allowing it to pass larger Wishes, Wigglytuff's poor bulk means it often has to keep the Wishes to heal itself, given that it can be 2HKOed by many powerful special attackers; hence, Lickilicky and Audino tend to get the job done more effectively. Wigglytuff's low offensive stats also make it setup fodder and Taunt bait. Its only niche is its ability to set up Stealth Rock while providing Wish support at the same time, but, otherwise, it fails to provide the sort of sustained team support that Lickilicky or Audino are able to.

[SET]
name: Support
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Wish
move 3: Protect
move 4: Double-Edge
item: Leftovers
ability: Frisk
nature: Careful
evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

Wiggytuff's access to Stealth Rock sets it apart from other Wish users; without it, there would be no reason to use Wigglytuff at all. In addition, Wigglytuff can support its teammates by passing one of the biggest Wishes in NU, courtesy of its high HP stat. Protect allows Wigglytuff to scout its opponents' moves and receive its own Wishes safely. Note that this move may need to be used often because of Wigglytuff's poor bulk, so that it may receive its own Wishes and simultaneously avoid a hit that would KO it. However, be aware that Protect grants opponents free turns, which can easily be taken advantage of with free switches or setup opportunities, so caution must be exercised when using this move. Double-Edge prevents Wigglytuff from being Taunt bait and can break through Substitutes. Wigglytuff's high HP stat also means that the recoil damage does not matter too much to it.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Heal Bell is a nice support move to rid Wigglytuff and its teammates of status, but there is hardly any room to fit it in. Seismic Toss can be used over Double-Edge for consistent damage against Rock- and Steel-types, but it is illegal with Frisk, and one must then use the extremely situational and often useless Cute Charm. Magic Coat is a decent option to bounce back Taunt, status moves, and entry hazards, but like Heal Bell, it is hard to fit into the moveset. Similarly, Thunder Wave and Toxic are decent moves to cripple fast threats and stall out opposing walls, respectively, which would be great if only there were a little more room on the set. Alomomola is a great teammate that can take physical hits while forming a double Wish combo with Wigglytuff. Misdreavus can take most physical attacks, provide cleric support for Wigglytuff, and appreciates Wish support from Wigglytuff. Mandibuzz can defeat Ghost-types such as Golurk and Misdreavus that threaten to defeat or set up on Wigglytuff, while phazing out greedy opponents that try and set up on Wigglytuff. Wigglytuff absolutely despises Toxic Spikes they limit its longevity; grounded Poison-types, particularly Garbodor, are good teammates in order to absorb them. Garbodor can also take most Fighting-type attacks aimed at Wigglytuff, enjoys Wish support, and can set up Toxic Spikes of its own to aid in Wigglytuff's stalling. Finally, teammates that appreciate Wish support are good options. These include Gurdurr, Skuntank, and Choice Band Braviary.

[Other Options]

Wigglytuff has access to dual screens, but it is outclassed in this role by Audino and Gardevoir, both of which have better bulk, the latter also having access to moves such as Memento and Healing Wish. Perish Song is a nice win condition for stall teams and prevents opponents from setting up on Wigglytuff, but it has trouble fitting it into any moveset. Disable is a decent option to mess with Choice item attackers, but Wigglytuff's four moveslot-syndrome, low Speed, and poor bulk hold this strategy back. Wigglytuff has a large offensive movepool of special attacks, including Focus Blast, Ice Beam, Fire Blast, and Shadow Ball, but Wigglytuff's low offensive stats mean an offensive set is simply ineffective. Finally, Wigglytuff can surprise physical attackers with Counter and a Focus Sash, but this strategy is gimmicky at best and is ruined by entry hazards.

[Checks and Counters]

Fighting-types are the best counters to Wigglytuff as they almost always OHKO it. Scraggy and Gurdurr are notable for their ability to heal back any lost HP with Drain Punch. Ghost-types, such as Nasty Plot Misdreavus, Drifblim, and SubDisable Haunter, can set up on Wigglytuff without worry. Klang also sets up on Wigglytuff, as Double-Edge does pitiful damage to it. Pokemon with Taunt, such as Calm Mind Serperior and Mandibuzz, defeat Wigglytuff as it has no effective way to fight back. Bulky setup sweepers such as Substitute + Bulk Up Braviary and Substitute + Swords Dance Lickilicky set up all over Wigglytuff. Toxic Spikes also ruin Wigglytuff's day by limiting its longevity; Roselia and Garbodor are able to set them up. Wigglytuff is also beaten by most other walls since it doesn't usually run Toxic. For instance, Regirock and Tangela wall it completely and can wear it down while restoring HP with Drain Punch and Leech Seed, respectively. Encore and Trick are also good ways to cripple Wigglytuff by locking it into a useless support move, and can be used by the likes of Kadabra and Gardevoir, respectively, but neither of them like taking a Double-Edge. Finally, most powerful moves will overwhelm Wigglytuff, especially on the physical side, because in reality Wigglytuff is not bulky at all.

[Overview]

- outclassed by Lickilicky and Audino which have more bulk and better abilities

- large HP wishes but usually Lickilicky and Audino can get the job done well enough

- its only niche is that it can set up SR and provide Wish support at the same time

- poor bulk means a lot of attackers still KO it, and it's forced to use Wish way too much, and it's bad setup fodder due to low offensive stats

[SET]

name: Support

move 1: Stealth Rock

move 2: Wish

move 3: Protect

move 4: Double-Edge

item: Leftovers

ability: Frisk

nature: Careful

evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

- SR is Wigglytuff's niche over the other blobs, it's essential otherwise there's no reason to use it

- one of the biggest Wishes in NU, supports its teammates

- Protect allows Wigglytuff to receive its own wishes and scout. However this move needs to be used more often because Wigglytuff's bulk isn't very good compared to other blobs

- Double Edge prevents Substitute Pokemon from walking over it, prevents taunt bait. High hp stat means recoil shouldn't matter too much

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

- Heal Bell for support and to rid itself of Toxic but have fun trying to fit it in

- Seismic Toss for consistent damage vs Steel and Rock types but is illegal with Frisk which is better than Cute Charm

- Magic Coat can bounce back Taunt and status and Spikes, can go over Protect or Double Edge but no room

- Thunder Wave can cripple fast opponents but note that Wigglytuff has 4MSS already

- toxic can stall out walls much faster, but see above

- Alomomola is a good teammate to tank physical hits and form a double wish combo

- this set hates toxic spikes. Hence Garbodor is a great teammate to absorb Tspikes, set up Tspikes to help stall, and tank physical hits

- Misdreavus is a good partner with good synergy, appreciates recovery

- Mandibuzz takes on the likes of Golurk, and can phaze out setup attempts

- teammates that appreciate recovery are good, eg. Gurdurr, Skuntank, Braviary

[Other Options]

- dual screens is outclassed by Audino and Gardevoir

- perish song but hard to fit in. Nice to prevent setup though

- disable, but low speed and 4MSS holds it back

- lots of special attacks, including focus blast, fire blast, ice beam, shadow ball, but unable to use it due to low offenses

- counter with sash

[Checks and Counters]

- Fighting-types counter it totally. Scraggy and Gurdurr are most notable as they can heal back large amount of HP with Drain Punch

- Ghost-types set up on it, eg. NP Missy, Drifblim, SubSplit Haunter

- Taunt Pokemon shut it down eg. Taunt + CM Serp and Mandibuzz

- bulky setup sweepers such as SubBU Braviary and SubSD Lickilicky

- Toxic Spikes weaken it a lot limiting its longevity. Scolipede and Roselia can set them up

- it's walled by other walls since it doesn't usually carry toxic. Regirock and Tangela can wall it and use Drain Punch / Leech Seed to heal

- Wigglytuff isn't very bulky so attacking it with strong moves will overwhelm it, especially on the uninvested physical side. IT'S NOT BULKY

Not QC but a few minor nitpicks.
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

- Frisk is much better but is illegal with SR and Seismic Toss, so too bad for you use Cute Charm
Frisk is illegal with Seismic toss, but not SR because Wigglytuff learns it vis BW2 move tutor. Therefore, I would slash it with Cute Charm if you are using Heal Bell.

Also Magic Coat is worthy of a mention in AC / OO, as it prevent Wigglytuff from becoming Spikes bait.

Both of Wigglytuff's abilities are really situational, though I guess Frisk can scout for Expert Belts on, say, Eel, and do other stuff like that. Tbh Double-Edge should probably be the attacking move sort of like Audino, also it's legal with Frisk so you can ditch Cute Charm.

[SET]
 • Heal Bell probably shouldn't be on the full set since there really is no room for it, all the other moves are kinda necessary but Heal Bell is sort of filler imo. Also Miltank does SR + Heal Bell better.
 • Double-Edge over Seismic Toss, so the set should be: SR / Wish / Protect / DE. (Oh yeah and also Frisk as the ability, and Careful > Calm)
 • Make sure to change up the SC accordingly.
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
 • Delete the first point since you're using Frisk now.
 • Heal Bell goes here.
- Magic Coat can bounce back Taunt and status and Spikes, can go over Magic Coat
 • Change that obviously. Say it can go over Protect or DE I guess but the other two are too important to give up.
 • All your partners "like cleric support," so delete that since Heal Bell isn't on the full set anymore
[Checks and Counters]
- SubBU Braviary and SubSD Lickilicky have 101 HP Subs
 • Replace this with bulky setup sweepers in general.
Implement scorpdestroyer , and I'll check back later.

- Ghost-types set up on it, eg. NP Missy and CM Drifblim
Acroblimp also sets up against Wigglytuff, so I would only mention Nasty Plot Misdreavus, Drifblim, and SubDisable/SubSplit Haunter.

Also just for the hell of it:
252+ SpA Life Orb Samurott Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Wigglytuff: 265-313 (54.75 - 64.66%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
- Wigglytuff isn't very bulky so attacking it with strong moves will overwhelm it, especially on the uninvested physical side
Try to make this clear when you will write Checks and Counters, Wigglytuff is really not that bulky and will use Wish way too much since it lacks real bulk and Regenerator.

Despite having larger HP Wishes, Lickilicky and Audino usually get the job done well enough, and it does not compensate for Wigglytuff's poor bulk, which forces it to use Wish more than it would like and still get 2HKOed by many powerful special attackers.
I'd say simplify this to something along the lines of "Despite having larger HP Wishes, Wigglytuff's poor bulk forces it to recover often while still getting 2HKOed by many powerful special attackers; Lickilicky and Audino get the job done more effectively with their better overall bulk." because your sentence is a bit too clunky otherwise.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Mention other Ghost-types alongside Golurk as Pokemon Mandibuzz can deal with as Wigglytuff does appreciate all Ghosts gone so that it doesn't become set up bait.

I really don't have anything else to add, Wigglytuff was very mediocre in my playtest with it. Maybe Encore/Trick in CC, though the most common users of these moves don't appreciate Double Edge, even from Wigglytuff (I'm thinking Jynx, Liepard, Gardevoir, Kadabra, etc.) and would likely prefer simply attacking it.

I didn't get the point of this and felt it was sort of unnecessary. Does this add to any meaning?

Anyway, the rest of it is implemented, thanks!

I wasn't particularly happy with the bit I added either, but the point is that "[Protect] may need to be used often because of Wigglytuff's poor bulk" isn't really a self-explanatory statement, and was hoping it could be elaborated upon. I was trying to work out what you meant, but evidently I was mistaken. I thought you were referring to the necessity of using Protect in order to scout for and consequently avoid high-powered moves, given that Wigglytuff is not the bulkiest around, but possibly you meant stalling for Leftovers healing. Or maybe you were referring to using it to receive Wish safely. In which case, surely saying that Wish will be used often would be more ideal, since that's Wigglytuff's big bonus. Or maybe you weren't talking about any of the above. In which case I'm totally lost.

Now that I think about it, if Protect is indeed used more often than it should be, you may want to add a small note on the dangers of repeatedly using Protect, such as essentially allowing the opponent free turns to set up, and the like. Or something.

I meant that Wigglytuff is going to be forced to use Protect more often to receive its own wishes because it gets 2hkoed by a lot of moves and it wants to heal and avoid the second hit at the same time (hope that made sense). I'll fit it in then, and yeah I'll also add that it gives opponents free turns.

bugmaniacbob is it alright now?

Fixed, looks good now. Note that "However... however..." is generally frowned upon as a structural device.

Garbodor can also take most Fighting-type hits attacks aimed at Wigglytuff, enjoys Wish support, and can set up Toxic Spikes of its own to aid in Wigglytuff's stalling. Finally, teammates that appreciate Wish support are good options. These include Gurdurr, Skuntank, and Choice Band Braviary.

[Other Options]

Wigglytuff has access to dual screens, but it is outclassed in this role it is outclassed by Audino and Gardevoir, both of which have better bulk, and the latter has also having access to moves such as Memento and Healing Wish.

Bulky setup sweepers, (RC) such as Substitute + Bulk Up Braviary and Substitute + Swords Dance Lickilicky, (RC) set up all over Wigglytuff. Toxic Spikes also ruin Wigglytuff's day by limiting its longevity; Scolipede and Garbodor are able to set them up. Wigglytuff is also walled beaten by most other walls since it doesn't usually run Toxic. For instance, Regirock and Tangela wall it completely and can wear it down while restoring HP with Drain Punch and Leech Seed, respectively. Encore and Trick are also good ways to cripple Wigglytuff by locking it into a useless support move, and can be used by the likes of Kadabra and Gardevoir, respectively, but they do not neither of them like taking a Double-Edge. Finally, most powerful moves will overwhelm Wigglytuff, especially on the physical side, because in reality Wigglytuff is not bulky at all.
