Wildfire Plateau - Raid Test (DarkSlay & GoldenKnight) (COMPLETED)

A heated wind blows on these scorched cliffs and peaks. No matter where you turn your eyes, nothing you can see past barren rocks, burnt by the cruel sun. Natural bridges consisting of rock tongues suspended over impressive canyons and gulches allow you to get from a cliff to another one. As you walk carefully on one of the cliffs, you suddendly glance a violent spout of boiling vapor breaking through a fissure above your heads. Nevertheless, you keep going until one of the rock bridges bring you at the base of the plateau.

Thin cracks scatter through the ground like webs enveloping the whole sandy surface. There seems to be several higher platforms on the plateau, which you can reach through natural paths. As you are heading towards one of them, though, your eye gets caught by some runes inscribed in a wall of rock. You wonder what they mean, but all of a sudden you glance over a writing in common language, scratched below some of the runes. Ten thousand years of slumber, sealed away in..., and then the writing becomes unreadable. In the end, you decide to continue your walk, as what you seek probably lies at the top of the plateau.

After some more minutes of marching under the incessant drought, you finally arrive on the higher echelons of the plateau. Much to your surprise, an intense verdant light shines under your eyes. Soft blades of grass cover the entire area, despite the rock seems to be way too hard and dry for any kind of life to grow on. While you behold this magnificent meadow, something suddendly draws your attention. A strange bug, similar to a sort of larva, is crawling in the grass, near the center of the meadow. Another local form of life, maybe? You approach it carefully, but then the insect turns fiercely towards you and charges!

God damn, it's hot here. I'm glad I'm wearing my signature shades, because this place is pretty darn bright. Why did we even come here anyway, gk? I thought we picked Bermuda for our summer vacation spot. ;_; You better hope that there's some surf and sand on the other side of these cliffs...

Anyways, looks like we're going to have to do something about this...rather large...Larvesta in our way. Let's send out some of our friends to see if they want in on the action, shall we?

The queen of cool, the sorceress of surf, it's none other than my trusty companion:

Salmon the Slowking

The king of crush, the power provoker, let's show them your might:

Lumber the Conkeldurr

Okay Salmon and Lumber, it's time once again to work together, this time with gk and his friends! Let's show the world just how well we can work together!

Salmon, I don't like bugs. One bit. And neither do you. So, let's start things off by spraying this bug with a Thunder Wave to slow it down and help us out in the match. Then, follow that off with a boiling Scald right at it! IF IT USES SUNNY DAY BEFORE YOUR SECOND ACTION, use Rain Dance over Scald.

Lumber, let's teach this bug some manners! Start off the match by using Bulk Up to tighten those muscles, then slam it hard with a Rock Slide to add in a flinch chance!

well, we aren't as fancy as DarkSlay, but I do think we have three more wins soooooooooo

Milo, let's go ahead and use Rain Dance to boost some damage for Salmon and Chaac. Follow that up with your very own rain boosted Hydro Pump

Clohm-->gonna enable Sheer Force

Chaac, Let's go ahead and start out with a rain boosted Hydro Pump, this will cause some nice damage. Speaking of damage, let's laugh as Sheer Force boosts the power of Hurricane

I forgot to mention he has Flame Body, but since none of your current attacks for this round is contact based I simply fixed it. Also, remember this is a boss, so it has all the immunities I listed in the Sign Ups thread

As the Larvesta swiftly crawls towards them, the trainers send out their Pokémon, ready to face the unexpected assault. Azul takes the initiative and immediately calls forth black clouds which crack with thunder and lightning, causing a heavy rainfall to shower the verdant meadow. Chaac absorbs some of the water falling into his three mouths, then emits a highly pressured blast of water at the volcanic bug. The Larvesta is seemingly irritated by the water, and reacts with an annoying buzz which freaks out the Cyclohm. Meanwhile, Lumber flexes his muscles to stiffen himself up, and Salmon cripples the opponent with a jolt of paralyzing electricity.

Now that the Larvesta has been weakened, Azul goes on the offense, and unleashes a mighty geyser of water at his foe. Chaac follows up summoning a vicious typhoon which squeezes the bug around. Lumber attempts to give his contribute by slamming the enemy with some rocks, but he barely misses the target. Salmon tries to remedy and spouts a jet of boiling water, still proving to be damaging for the Larvesta. Speaking of the devil, the volcanic crawler charges the sea siren straightforward and rams into her with impressive might, hurting himself a bit in the process.

Woah, woah, simmer down there Lumber! I know you're upset that you missed, but this bug is almost squished. Just keep your head high and strike it hard and fast! You're the champ, so nothing should get you down!

Salmon, well done! The team appreciated that paralysis and your boiling Scalds! Let's keep up the pressure!

Salmon, use a powerful Scald once more to simmer this bug in some boiling water! (It cooking in this water makes the place smell like ashes and cinder, but oh well.) Follow that up with a powerful Water Gun to also make it weaker to Electrical attacks!

Lumber, don't get mad: get EVEN! SHEER FORCE Rock Slide that Larvesta for huge damage, then use a SHEER FORCE Rock Slide once again!

cool, I mean, crits suck and all, but this is manageable

Milo: Alright, things are going well with rain up and everything, so let's go ahead and use Hydro Pump twice

Clohm: Since we did like 50 damage last round, we might as well keep it up. USe Hydro Pump on the first action and follow that up with Hurricane

Azul and Chaac keep the offensive momentum going, as both emit other huge blasts of water which strike violently the fiery bug, making it shudder. Lumber takes some nearby rock and launches them at the foe, out of rage. More calm yet determined, Salmon expels another wave of scalding water at the enemy. Larvesta leaps with surprising swiftness over the Milotic and slashes her with a quick ace, but the siren doesn't seem really hurt.

And in fact, Azul pays it back more than double, spraying the opponent with another jet of water, while Chaac summons powerful winds to finally blow him away. Larvesta is knocked back and apparently faints due to the last attack... but before the Pokémon can claim victory, an intense flame engulfs the little bug, shining intensely while the husk cracks wide open, giving birth to a giant moth, beautiful and lethal in his brightness! His body suddendly emits a blinding glow which clears the sky above and bath the entire battlefield in a heated sunlight!

It looks like we made it angry, gk. :< I hope when we kill it, it won't remember a thing as a ghost! This thing as a ghost would be scary...

Anyways, let's get to work friends!

Salmon, there's no use in putting up Rain right now, and your Water attacks are weakened, but there is one thing that this Bug cannot stop: Trick Room! That's right, put yourself, your friends, and this Volcarona in an alternate dimension where you all out-speed it! Then finish off the round with a powerful Power Gem!

Lumber, start out the round by once again hurling huge rocks at the monster with a SHEER FORCE Rock Slide! Then start off the next round with a Taunt, just in case it tries to pull anything sneaky in the later rounds!

The fiery moth shows a lot nimbler reflexes than its former self, and instantly emits a painful noise towards Azul, ravaging her nerves. Cyclohm tries to repel the winged monster back with another mighty blast of winds, but Volcarona seems much tougher than expected. Lumber supports the offense with a barrage of rocks, but the sunbathed moth dodges them at incredible speed. However, Azul has a nasty surprise for him. Calling upon her mystical powers, she commutes the wounds she sustained into a mind wave which squeezes violently the opponent. And speaking of mind and speed, Salmon opts for turning the tables and shifts the dimension, causing him and his mates to gain unnatural speed while leaving Volcarona oddily crippled.

And the same Slowking takes instantly advantage of this, by throwing magical rocks at the foe. The Conkeldurr, probably angry because of the last failure, makes a bad gesture at Volcarona, drawing his attention. Thankful of the distraction, Cyclohm and Milotic blast the bug with a deadly combination of water and flames. But the bug is far from defeated, and punishes Lumber with his very psychic might, leaving him dazed and shaken.

Milo: Let's go ahead and give these barren plains some life, combine Hydro Pump with Twister to create a cool little water spout n.n

Clohm: Yeah, we're just gonna stick with Hurricane and Flamethrower

next round we'll have to chill u.u

Salmon fires off another barrage of magical rocks to dent the rampaging moth, while Lumber follows the example but with much heavier rocks at his disposal. Chaac helps as well with a howling typhoon squeezing around the foe. Meanwhile, Azul spouts some water, channelling it into a vicious twister which causes it to fall like heavy rain over the opponent. But Volcarona, unphazed even by this impressive display of offensive might, summons harsh winds on her own to slam the Conkeldurr with.

The Slowking then takes some time to chill, along with the Milotic which remains idle due to the huge effort she took into the last attack. Lumber keeps attacking, instead, with other giant boulders thrown at the enemy. Chaac is no slouch either, and breathes heated flames from all his three heads. But the real might come from Volcarona, as the fiery moth shrouds herself into engulfing flames, which then he projects over the Conkeldurr flapping his wonderful wings. Lumber is left scorched and wounded by the wild flames, but what's worse, now the moth looks even more strong and menacing than before.

The two trainers look at each other, wondering if they can bring down this terrifying moth before she wipes out the field of their Pokémon. Nevertheless, they still feel there is a chance to do this. However, since the majority of the squad seems battered and exhausted, the two trainers order Salmon to fire off another barrage of magic stones while the other three chill out for a while. Unphazed by the assault, Volcarona imbues himself in fire and charges Lumber at full force, slightly damaging himself in the process.

Feeling that his attacks are not effective enough, Salmon concentrates and clears his mind to heighten the might of his mystical assaults. Lumber avenges the last attack launching some rocks at the foe, while Chaac repels the giant moth with unrelentless winds. Azul simply keeps relaxing herself, looking to strike the opponent at full force in the following rounds. Meanwhile, Volcarona summons mental waves to strike at the Conkeldurr, leaving him almost on the verge of defeat.

Salmon, use Power Gem to score some great damage! Then use Scald to hit it hard!

Lumber, use Dig to avoid the incoming attacks! Stay under until the round ends to make sure that it switches targets.

DarkSlay decides it's too soon for his Conkeldurr to leave the field. While Salmon covers him launching several magic stones, Lumber digs his way underground. Meanwhile, Azul and Chaac assault the moth with a combination of water and mighty winds. Volcarona, since his intended target suddendly disappeared, turns his attention on the Cyclohm, bathing him into infernal fire. Luckily for the three-headed Pokémon, his draconic skin soften the pain suffered.

While Lumber hides safely underneath, Salmon emits boiling water at the foe, while Azul squeezes him with a pulse of water and Chaac retaliates with flames of his own. Volcarona is starting to show the signs of the battle, but nevertheless shrouds himself into shining flames and slams into the dragon, coming out of them even stronger than before.

We're in a pretty decent position here, so let's not spoil it!

Salmon, start with a chill to reduce any threat level you may have, then hit it hard and fast with a Power Gem!

Lumber, you're alive! Come up and strike it with the Dig, and then use Drain Punch to chip away at its HP while also adding some to you!

As Salmon dents the deadly moth with yet another barrage of enchanted rocks, Lumber erupts from underground, battering on the foe on his way out. Chaac and Azul keep up their combination of flames and water to weaken the opposition. Volcarona reacts launching a fiery star of flames at the Cyclohm, but the dragon endures the hit surprisingly well.

The Slowking continues with another swarm of rocks, while Lumber punches into the giant bug to tap into his life force and manages to heal back some wounds. Chaac calls forth a lightning bolt this time, while Azul resorts once again to her pressured jet of water. Volcarona blows back the three-headed dragon with a wind of silver scales and powders, but she seemingly is no longer as healthy as she used to be. However, at the same time, the twisted dimension expires, leaving the Pokémon much slower and the fire moth as nimble and lethal as ever...

IMPORTANT EDIT: I was told that the reading I had over the dmg formula was wrong - namely, I should have count Rank differences coming from Ranks above 5 as 1 instead of 1.5. In our case, it means that Volcarona should have done a bit less damage with his Special attacks. Since none died yet, I could fix the numbers without much problems. In the end, Milotic got 1 HP back, Conkeldurr got 5 HP back, and Cyclohm got 2 HP back. Calcs within HIDE tags were fixed accordingly. Sorry for the mixup

Hm...as much as I want to kill this thing, I suppose a turn to restock would be a good idea.

Lumber, since Cyclohm is chilling this action, I don't want you to be the target, so chill as well. Use Drain Punch when you're done to score a little bit more health.
