[WIN] Shrine of the Old Gods: Halls of Ages (Hard) - Dogfish44 and Maxim

A large gate stands before you, towering above the forest for over fifty feet. On each half you can see a large, plain circle, surrounded by seven smaller ones. Perhaps these symbols used to be colored, but centuries of winters and summers eroded the stone to the point you can barely discern the lines. Everything seems to be like it was when you first explored this place after the Bright Hope ship landed... except now the gates are open. An impenetrable darkness conceals whatever lies beyond the massive gates. Standing there seems to be of no use, so you steel yourselves and step forward, venturing within the silent ruins.

Soundtrack

Your Pokémon light up the path enough for you to see a corridor stretching forward, far beyond your eyesight. The ceiling is far above your heads, but the corridor is still pretty narrow - you doubt more than three people could walk through it next to each other. Both the walls are decorated with ancient drawings, tall to the point you feel the pain in your necks as you turn your sights up. Large figures - humans, you would say - are kneeled before even bigger ones - definitely not humans. The largest figure - a serpentine creature floating in the air despite the lack of wide wings - looks to be the object of the humans' prays, as if it were a deity of some sort. The same scene is replicated on the other wall as well. What could this mean?

While you wonder about these images, however, you hear some voices coming from the end of the corridor. Slowly, you sneak through the corridor, up to the door at the end of it. Beyond the sill, a large room is illuminated by the dim light of some torches. On one side, a strange creature stands atop of an altar, immobile and shrouded in an ominous, violet aura. Next to it you notice a glowing orb, the color akin to the one of the eerie aura. But you have not much time to study the situation further because, on the other side, a weird humanoid creature stands, flanked by two sentinels. Its appearances are the most alien thing you ever saw, and its eyes burn of a seething, white fire that shines almost more intensely than the torches themselves. And its voice echoes through the room, deep like the noise of a thunder.

Your kind should have never been here. You only doomed yourselves!

Now, please, remember that on the first round you must choose a Pokemon to start channeling the Orb of Domination.

Revenankh is bound to the Orb of Domination, and can't act until it is active. A Pokemon, if ordered so, can reach the orb and channel its will through the crystal, in an attempt to take control of Revenankh. This command has priority -8. If a Pokemon manages to keep control of the orb for the entirety of the following action, Revenankh will fall under control of the respective player at the end of the round. The Pokémon can't act, but its player can use any of Revenankh's attacking moves. Revenankh is considered an allied Pokémon for all the duration of the Dominated effect, but is immune to everything - damage, as well as positive or negative effects. Lasts for (8) actions or until Valaun dies - whatever happens first. Once Revenankh breaks out of control, he becomes immune to the Dominated effect.

We walked up to the shrine, Pokemon and swords in hand. We decided to give our swords to some of our Pokemon, since we didn't know how to use the darn things. Fortunately the Pokemon seemed to know enough about how to use them. After some walking, we came to the huge gates of the shrine once more. The gates had a strange mural painted on them: On each laid a large, plain circle, surrounded by seven smaller ones. Hey wait a second, haven't I seen this somewhere before?

I thought back to the Frozen Vault, where a similar mural had laid. Was this just a coincidence, or was fate trying to send me a message?

As for the shrine itself, everything seemed to be like it was when the scout teams first explored this place after the Bright Hope ship landed... except now the gates were open. It was quite dark, and the entrance to the ruins were obscured by darkness, so we couldn't see what laid ahead. Although, don't most ancient structures like this have windows? I dismissed this thought, seeing that I was wasting time just standing there, so without further delay, we went inside.

Fortunately, Skyla's aura was able to light up the way for us, though I saw a curious sight. There were many crystals lining the walls, much like the ones at the Cliffs of Thunder, but having long lost their light. The ceiling was far above our heads, but the corridor was still pretty narrow. If we had our Pokemon out we'd all be squished. Without warning, the figure attacked me with a beam of light, which stung terribly. It was then that I knew it was time to fight the figure. Before long though, the figure was flanked by two Bisharp. This was going to be a long fight...

Jenga takes the initiative, sweeping Valaun with a swift strike while Leo shields the team from physical assaults. The mysterious enemy pays back twice at the Dragonite, letting his allies deal with the Tomohawk, but the barrier softens their blows. The rest of the team picks up the slack for the support, while Goliath grabs the foe's attention with a powerful tail whip. However, Valaun seems to be worried more by Pixie's attempt to take over the Orb of Domination.

Valaun: Ignorant fools! You will ruin everything!

Nevertheless, the Aromatisse keeps focusing while the rest of the raid lashes out at Valaun, until Revenankh falls under her control... at least for the time being.

Zarator: Can we get a list of Rev's moves available please? Also, you might want to note that Delibird's ability combo of Vital Spirit and Insomnia gives it +1 Atk, Def and SpD Ranks, as well as +1 Accuracy, of which the first rank boost is rather useful.

Round 2

Valaun blasts Goliath with a powerful energy bomb, piercing through screens as if they were nothing. The team backs off a bit to heal wounds, while the controlled Revenankh starts picking apart the two Bisharps. However, the mysterious Light-typed foe ignores its allies and shatters the protective barriers with a well-aimed strike. This time, though, the raid squad doesn't sit passively but, on the contrary, goes on a strong counteroffense.

So basically, we can't have the Bisharp around once the orb breaks or else Aromatisse's going to have a splitting headache. Unfortunately for us, the orb breaks as soon as Valaun gets offed, so we'll need to focus down the silly Bisharp first.

Also, I don't think we want to put up screens again. Yeah the attacks will certainly hurt, but now that we aren't worrying about Bisharp only Valauun really matters as far as screens go. Rev will just ignore them thanks to Infiltrator. I don't think we can really afford the energy hit for future rounds for only 4 actions of actual protection.

I'm thinking we don't need to bother with screens if they're only going to get shattered again - really need to rethink that if we do another run. I also don't like how much damage Druddigon is taking - I'd like to get a couple of Heal Pulses aimed in it's general direction, and I'd also like to get some chills in with them.

That said, I'm thinking we ought to split the combat somewhat to maximise damage output.

Round 3, I'd like to get Revenankh's threat up so we don't aggro. A Superpower to both Bisharp is a threshold of 97, which we shouldn't end up accidentally changing. Then Round 4 and Round 5 I think it would be a reasonably smart idea to let Lucario and Tomohawk switch to Bisharp whacking. Some sample Bisharp HP Calcs are below:

Round 3:
Rev: Superpower (A - 356) - Superpower (B - 356)

Round 4:
Rev: Superpower (A - 319) - Superpower (B - 319)

2 96 HP Bisharp remaining.... not quite enough in my opinion - we want to be able to pluck one each off on A1 of Round 6, preferably with Aura Sphere (Prevents Gravity-related issues, since Round 5 we want to launch Aura Spheres A1 whilst it's reset imo) - that hits for 43 from Tomohawk and 41 from Lucario by my calcs.

One option we have is to have Tomohawk Chill ~ Focus Energy Round 3, so it hits for 50 (AS) and 59 (FS) - so that'd be +14 damage to each Bisharp, leaving them both at 82. We'd then only need to deal 36 damage to one Bisharp (Azu Brick Breaks for 37), and 41 more to the other (Delibird's Focus Punch hits for 46 here I reckon?)

As for Valaun, it's less terrifying than it looks in theory... if Dragonite and Druddigon keep going all out over the 3 rounds, that makes 387 damage, leaving 280 to go.

Delibird using Chill ~ Dragon Rush ~ Hidden Power ~ Dragon Rush ~ FP (Bisharp) ~ Dragon Rush does 115 damage, whilst Azu going with Chill ~ Aqua Tail ~ PR ~ Aqua Tail ~ BB (Bisharp) ~ Aqua Tail manages 100. This leaves 65 for Blissey - but since I suspect Blissey will spend a fair amount of time using Heal Pulse and Gravity.... with Chill ~ Heal Pulse (Drudd) ~ Hidden Power ~ Heal (Drudd) ~ Gravity ~ Heal (Drudd) leaves us with an 18 EN Blissey (28 after Leppa) and a 42 HP Valaun - if you're okay for Blissey to do a lot of chilling vs Revenankh then leading with a Hidden Power will bring her down to 10 EN after Leppa, and leave a 19 HP Valaun for DNite to Extremespeed.

tl;dr - I think we're just about OK. Somehow.

I had already applied the +1 to Def and SpD (hence why Delibird had Rank 3 Defenses), but I did forget to apply the Atk boost. Past rounds have been fixed accordingly.

That being said, you two should actually order^^

We... could do with talking on IRC. Right now we need to take out 220 HP of Valaun (Leaves it open to an ESPeed next round), andsubstantially dent the Bisharp, all whilst resetting Gravity and praying that Druddigon survives the ordeal. Or, in short form, PANIC.

Well, that went much better than I thought it would.

Small issue we forgot to mention though, Round 1 you calculated Extremespeed as Neutral against Valaun as opposed to 2x resist.
