3v3 Singles
DQ Time: 3 days

Arena:

Arena - Urban Alleyway
A narrow alley between two residential buildings, each about 10 stories each. On the side of the building to the left is a fire escape. Against the building to the right are 3 dumpsters about 5 feet apart. Every once in a while, a grate in the center of the alley puffs up a jet of steam - it's not particularly hot, but it obscures line of site. Above the trainers, residents have strung up clotheslines between buildings.
(forgive my ignorance, but can someone explain me via VM what a fire escape is exactly? English is not my main language :-P)

Battle on heroes!

Alright guys, this is our first match; let's make it count!

Greebo, let's show 'em your Moxie! I choose you!

Greebo(*) Scraggy (M)
Nature: Adamant

Breezi [Handsome] Male *
Nature: Serious

Show 'em how Persistent you are Handsome!

Start by gaining some height and staying out of Greebo's reach.

Next fire off a powerful Gust, and then, heck, invite Metronome to the party and see what happens.

If Greebo uses a stat up move at any point, use Whirlwind as your last move instead, to nullify the effects and rattle him around a bit.

This could be a tough one Greeb, but don't get discouraged!

Use that fire escape to your advantage! Climb it and try to stay even with Handsome as he gains altitude; as soon as he stops to attack, leap off and try to force him back to the ground by slamming him with your Thunder Punch! That Gust could be nasty, so follow him downward and hit him with your Drain Punch as soon as he hits the ground!

The kids who usually plays with their leather ball in this alley went to hide themselves as soon as the two battlers entered the stage. Out of thee Pokéballs come Greebo and Handsome, almost at the same time.

As soon as the battle starts, Handsome takes the initiative and takes into the air to escape from the Scraggy's range. Grubbo decides to play against his enemy on his own terms, and climbs quickly the fire escape to get at the same height.

Handsome opts for twisting things around and summons a little Gust to smack Grubbo around. Despite the hit, Mr. Panties opts for the riskier course of action. Using the initial dash of the winds, he leaps on the Breezi and slams him with a Thunderpunch. The hit carries nasty sparks of electricity which paralyzes Handsome.

Exploiting the sudden impedement in the Breezi's movements, Grubbo strikes his foe with a Drain Punch. He doesn't manage to pull him to the ground, but still smiles at the life energy stolen from him. Handsome shrugs then the hit off and shakes his appendage left and right until it starts glowing in a white lightened Metronome. From it spawns a Venom Shock which deals a good chunk of damage on the upset Scraggy.

Paralysis, eh? Well done, Greebo! Let's keep this momentum going!

If that paralysis kicks in and Handsome is unable to move, use that to your advantage and take the time to Dragon Dance! If not, shimmy up that fire escape again so you can get within range to attack - we're gonna mix it up this time, though. We've got to force him closer to the ground, so I want you to really slam him this time! Cover both your fists with electricity and hammer him with a double overhead Thunder Punch!

If fully paralyzed - Dragon Dance->Command to climb the fire escape-> Thunder Punch

If not paralyzed - Climb fire escape ->Thunder Punch->Thunder Punch

It's cool, Handsome, we got this. Start the round by giving it another Gust.

Take the Thunderpunch as best you can, but then Disable it.

Finally, while the thing is helpless, lets press our luck with another Metronome!

Handsome has not lost his smile, and attempts to summon vicious winds to strike Grubbo again, but the sparks through his body hit and cause him to be fully paralyzed. Grubbo shows a malicious grin and mock his opponent via performing a nasty Dragon Dance.

Grubbo then climbs up the fire escape to get ready for the incoming assault. Handsome doesn't stand idle and make winds fly through the iron bars of the fire escape with great force. The Gust leave the Scraggy battered, but not beaten.

Eager to get his revenge for the last hit, Grubbo jumps from above and hits the Breezi with a nasty Thunderpunch. However, Handsome decides to stop the rampage and eradicates the very knowledge of the technique from the Scraggy with Disable.

Good goin' kid, now catch an air lift and rise above the clothelines.

Direct a Gust and blow the clothes onto Grubbo to hinder him and obstruct his vision, as he tries to untangle himself, use Metronome.

If he uses a stat changing move like Dragon Dance, Swagger or whatever, give him a rousing Encore.

Doin' good Greebo, but don't get cocky; the battle is far from over!

Those clotheslines are giving me an idea; do your best to free yourself from the clothes as quick as you can, and then grab on to one of the lines. I want you to use it like a slingshot - use it to give yourself some extra momentum for a brutal Headbutt! Try to slam him into the wall with it for some extra hurt. If you can't with the Headbutt, finish off with a Dragon Claw - make sure to hit him into something solid!

Grubbo glances over his head - at the clothelines. With swift reflexes, he get rid of his pants (kids don't watch!) and throw them at the lowest of the clothelines, using it as an improvised slingshot. However, as he jumps towards Handsome, he gets caught in the Gust summoned by the Breezi and gets slammed to the ground.

Grubbo quickly recovers his position and jumps in the air again, this time to Headbutt Handsome like a living rocket. The Breezi get striken incredibly hard, and flinches helplessly.

Grubbo festers on his opponent with Dragon Claws, tearing deep wounds into poor Handsome. However, the Breezi shrugs off the paralysis and tries again his luck by casting a Metronome. From the light comes a little sting, which LeechesGrubbo's Life from his body and restores some of Handsome's wounds.

Alright Greebo, let's try a new strategy - if we can't force him to the ground, then let's bring the ground to him! Use your Brick Break on the concrete below you, and get a couple good, jagged junks. Then, I want you to use Faint Attack to get within range of Handsome - when you're up close, use the concrete and hit him with a vicious Stone Edge!

Blast Greebo with another Gust, Handsome, we're not going down yet!

As Greebo gets close, Knock Off the slabs of concrete from his hands.

Finally, let loose another Gust and remind me to teach you Air Slash sometime!

Handsome is severely wounded and tired, but he's not done yet! With his renewed speed, he summons a vicious Gust to twist the Scraggy around, making him flying up and fall down so hard that the hit results in a critical hit. However Grubbo is not knocked out by the attack, and with a powerful Brick Break creates some sharp, jagged junks to power up his incoming Stone edge.

That idea did not go unnoticed by the Breezi, though. As soon as the Scraggy reaches him in melee with a Faint Attack which hits him with perfect accuracy, Handsome Knocks Off the jagged rocks from Grubbo's hands.

Angered by the setback, the Scraggy opts for simply strike him with is own hands. The Stone Edge plows through the Breezi's defenses like a cut through parchment, and even if the hit is critically powerful, it is simply what we generally call "overkill". Handsome falls sorely on the street below, fainted by the violent impact.

I send out Pinster the Mulchmaker

Pinsir [Pinster] Male
Nature: Adamant
Hyper Cutter

Break his back with Brick Break then Seismic Toss the corpse into the trash. If he's still moving after that, finish him off with a Bug Bite, otherwise Bulk Up.

((It's Greebo, not Grubbo, hehe xP))

Damn, a Pinsir!? I know you're eager to show off your Moxie after that KO, Greeb, but don't get too cocky - that's a tough Pokemon!

You can't afford to take that Brick Break, buddy - we've got some shade in this alleyway, so use your Faint Attack to blend into the shadows; you've gotta dodge that move at all costs! When he's getting ready to toss you, I want you to use a Brick Break of your own - but you're gonna use it on the concrete again. Pick yourself up some gnarly, jagged pieces, and clock him with your Stone Edge at point-blank range!

A kid timidly tries to glance over what's happening between the two battlers, but yells and goes to hide when Pinster comes out from his Pokéball, fierce and furious. Even Greebo, after getting excited from his Moxie, shudders a little.

The Scraggy tries to conceal himself in the near shadows to strike from darkness, but the Pinsir is faster. With his painfully sharps pincers, he plows through the poor little buddy with Brick Break. Despite the wounds all over his body, nonetheless, Greebo manages to pull off a nasty Faint Attack.

The Scraggy attempts to make a step back after the attack, but Pinster begs to differ, and grabs Greebo (pun intended) with his pincers, before sends him flying on a nearby trashcan with Seismic Toss. The last impact is too much for the poor Scraggy, who sighs a last time before fainting.

As soon as poor Greebo gets called back, Victoire the Eevee enters the battlefield, her tail wagging excitedly. Pinster snaps his pincers repeteadly as well, and takes the initiative by hiding in the shadows and striking the Eevee with a sneaky Faint Attack. Victoire Growls in pain, so cutely that the Pinsir feels somehow guilty and his Attack is lowered by (1) stage.

The sense of guilt does not make those pincers less sharp, though (by virtue of Hyper Cutter) and the giant bug follows up the assault with a carefully aimed Vital Throw. However this time Victoire is on her toes (or paws, as the case may be), and after Detecting the attack she dodges it with ease.

Angered by the tricky cub, Pinster dashes forward and lays a powerful Brick Break on the poor Eevee, who this time endures the pain and retaliates with a gloomy Shadow Ball. The Pinsir is stung hard by the dusky sphere, but he's not done yet. Not at all.

A feeble cry comes from the kids watching the battle from the outskirts, but they soon shut up as the fight gets more fierce.

Victoire sprints forward and hits Pinster with a Quick Attack, which leave a nice dent in the chitin armor of her opponent thanks to a critical hit. The Pinsir tries to grab the Eevee with Vicegrip, but his enemy slips through by virtue of Run Away and takes the distance.

Victoire looks to the small piece of sky he can see above his head, and makes a Wish. A small sphere of light takes into the air and disappears. Behind him, however, Pinster makes a big leap and lands onto the poor Eevee, Bug Biting his fur ferociously.

Victoire attempts to react with a Shadow Ball which penetrates Pinster's defenses, but the giant bug feasts on his foe with a nasty Brick Break, which turns the Eevee's fur red with the blood from her wounds. The nearby kids watch in pure, unadultured horror.

Storm through those Shadowballs, and grip Victoire with a Vice Grip. Now Brick Break, and then Brick Break again. Not all Wishes come true...
