Round 1

And apparently both players have total confidence in their pokemon choices, as none wait for the other to make a decision. That being said, AlphaJolt sends out Athena the Togepi, while XVIcaliber bets on Jack the Skorupi.

No side has a glaring advantage, so this battle will probably be interesting. Quick, but interesting.

Action 1

And both pokemon start the battle Led Zeppelin style. Dazed and Confused. Jack was the first with Confuse Ray, inflicting intense confusion on Athena (4 actions). The Togepi decides to fight back fire with fire with a Sweet Kiss….and strangely she is coming…here?

*kiss*

Undine: Vaporeon?! (Translation: did that Togepi Kiss me? HEY I AM NOT INTO FEMALE TOGEPIS!)

*Hydro Pump at Frosty’s Face*

“OUUUUCH. HEY! IF YOU ARE MAD AT THAT CONFUSED TOGEPI, BLAME HER NOT ME BECAUSE THE MOVE FAILED

Undine: Vaporeon

Hmph. Luckily for Athena, her big defense and little attack made her suffer no damage due to this…mistake.

Skorupi: Confuse Ray for 5 energy
Togepi is confused!
Duration: 3/3 (4 turns)

Togepi: Hit itself for….4 – 4.5 = 0 damage for 3 energy
Confusion RNG (1/2 = hits itself in confusion): 1/2
Confusion Counter lowered to 2

Action 2

Jack continues to set up, by Dancing with Swords increasing significantly his attack, while Athena tries to inflict status once again, this time with Thunder Wave. Except that she is…looking…this…w..a..y…OH CRAP NOT AGAIN.

*Jumps in front of Undine and receives the Thunder Wave*

“BZZZZZ….anything hurts BZZZZZZ…less than…BZZZZ confusion-resulted Hydro Pump to the face…BZZZZ”

“Also BZZZZ Athena isn’t BZZZZ confused anymore”

Skorupi: Swords Dance for 7 energy
+2Spa

Togepi: Hits itself for 0 damage and 3 energy
Confusion RNG: ½ (hits itself)
Togepi isn’t confused anymore!

Action 3

*Eats Cheri Berry*

“Much better”

Anyway, they finally decide to attack each other when it hurts. Jack was the first with a Brick Break and then Athena with Flamethower. Both super effective and of similar power. The match is pretty much tied thus far.

Skorupi: Brick Break: 8*1.5 + 3.5 = 15.5 (16) damage for 6 energy
Crit RNG: 6/16 (no)

Togepi: Flamethrower: 10 + 1.5 = 11.5*1.5 = 17.25 (18) damage for 7 energy
Crit RNG: 7/16 (no)
Burn RNG: 6/10 (no)

Alright, Jack, the hax gods were with us last round...and now it's time to rip it to shreds!

Confuse Ray - Brick Break - Pin Missile

If he wants hax gods, let's show the power of Zeus. Start with Thunder Wave to paralyze him. Counter the Brick Break and then finish up with yet another Flamethrower.

Round 2

Action 1

Round 2 starts with more creativity! Yes you guess it right, its time for confuse ray one more time from our bug friend to Ms. Hard boiled egg, which confused her for 4 turns. Athena fights back status with status and emits a thunder wave that paralyses Jack.

Skorupi: Confuse Ray for 5 energy
Duration RNG: 3/3 (4 turns)

Togepi: Thunder Wave for 7 energy
Confusion RNG: 2/2 (attacks normally)
Skorupi was paralysed

Action 2

Athena seems to be waiting for something important, but Jack isn’t the waiting type, as he attacks the Togepi once again with Brick Break. Its like seeing last round again. Oh well. Also…for the love of god, not again!

*jumps to water with Undine*

*Massive confusion-induced counter explodes place where Frosty was standing. The move failed*

Skorupi: Brick Break : 8*1.5 + 3.5 = 15.5 (16) damage for 6 energy
Crit RNG: 7/16 (no)
Paralysis RNG: 80/100 (no)

Togepi: hits self: 0 damage for 3 energy
Confusion RNG: ½ (hits self)

Action 3

Finally, Athena goes with flamethrower again, thankfully at the right pokemon, which, BTW, fights back with 4 Pin Missiles.

Things are still even. We are looking at some very exciting couple rounds in the future!

Togepi: Flamethrower: 10 + 1.5 = 11.5*1.5 = 17.25 (18) damage for 7 energy
Confusion RNG: 2/2 (attacks normally)
Crit RNG: 9/16 (no)
Burn RNG: 4/10 (no)
Togepi isn’t confused anymore

Skorupi: Pin Missile: 8 + 3 + 3.5 = 14.5 (15) damage for 3 energy
Hits: 67/100 (4 hits – one is guaranteed thanks to bug stab)
Paralysis RNG: 75 (attacks normally)
Crit RNG: 16, 9 (NO NO)
Hit RNG: 80 (YES)

Round 3

Action 1

Sensing that something good will happen, Athena basks under the sunlight, enjoying the Morning Sun. And something good indeed happened, as Jack was fully paralysed

Togepi: Morning Sun: +25hp for 19 energy

Skorupi: Brick Break: 8*1.5 +1.75 = Fully Paralysed
Paralysis RNG: 1/10 (FP)

Action 2

Using the heat accumulated by basking, Athena fires yet another Flamethrower that burns (not really) Jack to a crisp. The Skorupi tries to fight back with 3 Pin Missiles, but it didn't work as well as it should. Things are looking bleak for Jack.

Togepi: Flamethrower: 10 + 1.5 = 11.5*1.5 = 17.25 (18) damage for 7 energy
Crit RNG: 4/16 (no)
Burn RNG: 9/10 (no)

Skorupi: Pin Missile: 6 + 3 = 9 damage for 3 energy
Hits: 59/100 (3 hits – one is guaranteed thanks to bug stab – it would be 4 for 60-80 and 5 for 80-100)
Paralysis RNG: 10/10 (no)
Crit RNG: 12, 10, 6 (no no no)
Hit RNG: 67 (YES)

Action 3

Athena finalizes the round by reflecting her namesake and summons the Ancient Power of the Greeks. Thats right, you've guessed it!

THIS IS SPAAARTAAAA!

erm...anyway. An ancient Greek soldier emerges from the ground (from where? we'll never know) and slashes Jack with his flaming sword.

To counter attack, Jack breaks some bricks at Athena's head. Not as flashy but surprisingly more effective.

Togepi: Ancientpower: 6*1.5 + 1.5 = 10.5 (11) damage for 4 energy
Crit RNG: 7/16 (no)
GOD RNG: 8/10 (no)

Skorupi: Brick Break: 8*1.5 = 12 damage for 6 energy

Round 4

Action 1

Jack probably needs to learn something from the other Jack. You know. The Bauer one. Breaking bricks is proving to be a highly ineffective strategy. And yet he does it again. More Brick Break.

And Athena is ready for it. She waits patiently for the move and as soon as it hits, she uses the energy of the attack to spin around and hit Jack back repeatedly in a tru counter.

Skorupi: Brick Break: 8*1.5 = 12 damage for 6 energy
Paralysis: 81 (no)
Crit: 7 (no)
Togepi: Counter: 18 damage for 11 energy

Action 2

Time to end this ladies and gentlemen! Athena is feeling like having an exotic food. BUG BARBECUE! And she does so with Flamethrower, finishing off the Skorupi. Fortunately for it, his trainer called him back before he could meet the hunger of our eggy friend. I guess Athena will have to stick to hunting Delibirds, like any normal pokemon.

Togepi: Flamethrower: 10 + 1.5 = 11.5*1.5 = 17.25 (18) damage for 7 energy
Crit RNG: 2/16 (no)
Burn RNG: 3/10 (no)
