Arena
ASB Tournament Arena
Surrounded by thousands of screaming Pokemon fans, the ASB Arena can be best described as a standard Pokemon battling arena. In the center of the arena lies a dirt-based floor outlined to show two separate sides (with a white Pokeball center). Surrounding the dirt is a moat filled with water. The moat is about fifteen feet wide and creates a perimeter around the dirt arena. The arena itself is eighty feet wide, one hundred feet long. All moves, weathers, and abilities are legal for the match, since it's an outdoor arena with a large water source and packed dirt. Pokemon must stay in the arena (or the dimensions of the arena in the case of Flying Pokemon, who cannot leave the arena and cannot fly higher than sixty feet). This prevents Pokemon from injuring the crowd watching the tournament. There are no outside interruptions by fans, Pokemon, or other elements not associated with the current battle.

The participants hit the field faster than you can say 'flashmatch' although the coins they both wear around your neck give the impression it may not necessarily be the victory they desire in this one. Yes I realise Geodude's have a distinct lack of neck, but it would take far too much flavour to properly assess the anatomy of that thing! *cough* Oh right, we have a match..

Sharess kicks us off by using her blinding speed to... dodge something. How unexiciting. Using the mental prowess and concentration that comes natural to her species she is easily able to Detect the imcoming blast of Toxic gunk from Solid and suffers no ill effects from the move.

Now she decides to put her speed to a more forceful use, although one might wonder about her choice of attack. Through a combination of Solid's defences, typing and natural Sturdiness her Fake Out does miniscule damage. It does however prevent the rock from hitting back with anything for this round.

The tricks continue towards the end of the round as Sharess acts to make use of Solid's expansive movepool to supplement her own shallow one. She senses the Geodude calling forth an Earthquake and says nu-uh, Me First. The cunning of her actions allows the quake to be sent back with even greater force and hit quite hard despite the defences of the aptly named Solid. Unfortunately this does mean that he's about to fight back with an Earthquake of his own and the damage this mere neutral hit does to poor Sharess shows exactly why she was doing her utmost to avoid any and all incoming assaults. She may be packing a type advantage but this one will be far from an easy fight.

Action 1
Sharess: Detect [6 EN]
Solid: Toxic > HIT [<=900] 540: YES > Sharess detected the attack! [7 EN]

Action 2
Sharess: Fake Out > CRIT [<=63] 522: NO > (4 - 1 + (3-4)*1.5)*0.67 = 1 [1 DMG] [4 EN]
Solid: Solid flinched!

Action 3
Sharess: Me First > Sharess copied Solid's Earthquake! > CRIT [<=63] 640: NO > (10*1.5 - 1 + (3-4)*1.5)*1.5 = 18.75 = 19 [19 DMG] [9 EN]
Solid: Earthquake > CRIT [<=63] 676: NO > (10 + 3 + (3-2)*1.5) = 14.5 = 15 [15 DMG] [6 EN]

Also, an approver I am not but both of you should have your DW abilities marked as locked :)

Low Kick - Stone Edge - Low Kick
If Geodude uses a Ground-type move on either action, replace your current action with Me First and all the following ones with Low Kick. Don't play this substitution twice consecutively.

Just as an aside to how these new substitutions work, technically you had to specify 'Damaging Ground type move' in your sub zar to make it legal. For instance it is not designed to trigger on Mud Sport.

Turning back to the fighting moves that are hard coded into her DNA, Sharess dives in Low for a Kick right to the base of Solid's body. Unfortunately she seems to have mistaken him for the heavier, more grown up members of his family tree. Solid is merely a pebble compared to what he will one day become, and that move will be far more devastating then. After brushing off the hit Solid seems wary about utilising his effective STAB moves after the events of last round so instead he calls forth the Sun to give his coverage moves a near STAB quality. Clever stuff if you ask me.

Sharess then takes a page out of her opponents book by firing off a Stone Edge. Her naturally Jolly disposition ensures near perfect accuracy but unfortunately for her Solid's dual typing means he resists his own element. That one almost defies nature. The rock then hits back with a powered up Fire Punch that Sharess does not appear to enjoy.

The little fighter finishes off where she began with another lacklustre Low Kick. I do hope that's not the only fighting manoeuvre this Meinfoo knows or else she will need to go in for a lot more training. Seeing his foe wide open Solid again spits a burst of Toxic in her direction, this one finding its mark and ensuring that Sharess is reminded of her folly at the end of every single action. Its still anyones game here folks.

Action 1
Sharess: Low Kick > CRIT [<=63] 769: NO > (5 + 3 - 1 + (3-4)*1.5)*1.5 = 8.25 = 8 [8 DMG] [4 EN]
Solid: Sunny Day > Sun started to shine brightly in the arena! [10 EN]

Action 2
Sharess: Stone Ege > HIT [<=930] 599: YES | CRIT [<=125] 976: NO > (10 - 1 + (3-4)*1.5)*0.67 = 5.025 = 5 [5 DMG] [7 EN]
Solid: Fire Punch > CRIT [<=63] 655: NO | BURN [<=100] 444: NO > (8 + 3 + (3-2)*1.5) = 12.5 = 13 [13 DMG] [6 EN]

Action 3
Sharess: Low Kick > CRIT [<=63] 674: NO > (5 + 3 - 1 + (3-4)*1.5)*1.5 = 8.25 = 8 [8 DMG] [4 EN]
Solid: Toxic > HIT [<=900] 114: YES > Sharess was aflicted with Toxic Poison! [7 EN]

Sharess is hurt by Toxic! [1 DMG]

Both participants seem a little preoccupied with this whole Me First business so excuse me if the action is a little lacking. Knowing that Solid is now wise to her best Earthquake counter she merely had to use her defensive skills to Detect the quake and avoid it as best she can. Unfortunately it comes at a decent energy cost and all the dodging in the world won't stop that Poison from getting to her.

Knowing full well that she has to utilise some offence Sharess goes in Low with another Kick. Solid responds by tapping into the randomness of Magnitude... and wouldn't you know it but this shaking is even stronger than a normal Earthquake! A horrible stroke of luck for zarator there.

Action 3 is a direct repeat of action 1 as the little Mienfoo once again decides to lose energy rather than health but it seems that her ever worsening Poison could be the deciding factor in this one.

Action 1
Sharess: Detect [11 EN]
Solid: Earthquake > CRIT [<=63] 712: NO > (10 + 3 + (3-2)*1.5) = 14.5 = 15 > Sharess detected the attack and dodged at the last minute! [6 EN]

Sharess is hurt by Toxic! [2 DMG]

Action 2
Sharess: Low Kick > CRIT [<=63] 388: NO > (5 + 3 - 1 + (3-4)*1.5)*1.5 = 8.25 = 8 [8 DMG] [4 EN]
Solid: Magnitude > BAP ROLL 861/1000: 11 | CRIT [<=63] 105/1000: NO > (11 + 3 + (3-2)*1.5) = 15.5 = 16 [16 DMG] [5 EN]

Sharess is hurt by Toxic! [2 DMG]

Action 3
Sharess: Detect [11 EN]
Solid: Earthquake > CRIT [<=63] 717: NO > (10 + 3 + (3-2)*1.5) = 14.5 = 15 > Sharess detected the attack and dodged at the last minute! [6 EN]

SUN (2 rounds)

Sharess kicks off this round with her one and only usefull offensive move and Low Kicks Solid for the upteenth time. After wearing this hit like all the others Solid goes back to his earlier plan and delivers a Sun boosted Fire Punch to take advantage of Sharess' questionable defences.

In an uncharacteristic fit of speed it looks like Solid is charging for an almighty hit, but Sharess is either ignorant or overconfident and simply sits and Meditates in an attempt to focus her powers. Unofortunately Solid's focus is far better and his devastating Focused Fire Punch is enough to net himself a win!

Action 1
Sharess: Low Kick > CRIT [<=63] 300: NO > (5 + 3 - 1 + (3-4)*1.5)*1.5 = 8.25 = 8 [8 DMG] [4 EN]
Solid: Fire Punch > CRIT [<=63] 136: NO | BURN [<=100] 359/1000: NO > (8 + 3 + (3-2)*1.5) = 12.5 = 13 [13 DMG] [6 EN]

Sharess is hurt by Toxic! [3 DMG]

Action 2
Solid: Solid is gathering his focus!
Sharess: Meditate > Sharess' Attack rose! [5 EN]
Solid: Focused Fire Punch > CRIT [<=63] 881/1000: NO | BURN [<=100] 298/1000: NO > (18 + 3 + (3-2)*1.5) = 22.5 = 23 [23 DMG] [24 EN]
