    Zwei Zwei

Zweilous definitely needs a revamp which I might do later, but I'm going to get this set out of the way first. Out of the current sets in the analysis this is the best one so it should get the 1st slot.

    Skeleton (open)
    [SET]
    name: Specially Defensive
    move 1: Rest
    move 2: Sleep Talk
    move 3: Roar
move 4: Dragon Tail / Crunch
    item: Eviolite
    ability: Hustle
    nature: Careful
    evs: 248 HP / 200 SpD / 60 Spe

    [SET COMMENTS]
    • 72/70/70 defenses are very solid with Eviolite and Zweilous makes the most out of its with its great Dark/Dragon typing

    • Walls a ton of special attacks such as Eelektross, Rotom-S, Exeggutor, Zebstrika, Kadabra, Musharna, Ludicolo, Charizard, Seismitoad, Swanna, Serperior, Misdreavus, Haunter, Shiftry and more.

    • Zwei's main role is phazing the opponent on stall teams with both Roar and Dragon Tail to rack up Stealth Rock and Spikes damage while walling a large amount of special attackers.

    • Roar ignores Hustle and allows for guaranteed phazing

    • Dragon Tail avoids Taunt and gives Zweilous a greater chance of having Sleep Talk pick a phazing move. However its accuracy with Hustle is a shaky 72%. Deals decent damage thanks to Hustle.

    • Crunch is a good option over Dragon Tail that allows Zweilous to 2HKO Musharna and Duosion, but should only be used over Dragon Tail if Zwei's team has problem with the 2 previously mentioned Pokemon.

    [ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
    • 60 Speed evs allow Zweilous to outspeed minimum speed Alomomola as well as Tangela, so it can Sleep Talk phaze them before they have a chance to make a move. This prevents Alomomola from getting off a Wish or Tangela from Leech Seeding. The rest of its evs are there to optimize its special bulk.

    • Hazard support is extremely important as they allow Zwei to make the most out of its phazing capabilities. Metang, Regirock, Torkoal, and Bastiodon are the best users of Stealth Rock on Stall teams, with Metang in particular having excellent synergy with Zweilous. Roselia and Garbodor are the best defensive users of Spikes in NU with their distinct advantages. Roselia has recovery while Garbodor lacks recover, but has much better physical bulk to switch into Fighting-type attacks that trouble Zweilous.

    • Pairs up very well with Heal Bell/Aromatherapy users, as they allow Zweilous to wake up from Rest without having to be out on the field for 2 turns.

    • Musharna and Misdreavus are best options for Heal Bell support on Zweilous as they share good type synergy together. Lickilicky, Audino, Meganium, and Vileplume also work for Heal Bell/Aromatherapy support, but they compound weaknesses with Zweilous.

    • Torkoal is a good partner for Zweilous as it can Rapid Spin away hazards that bother Zweilous. Torkoal handles Scolipede and can check Jynx for Zweilous while also setting up Stealth Rock. Wartortle is also a decent option for Rapid Spin support, but doesn't have the synergy that Torkoal does with Zwei.

    [SET]
    name: Specially Defensive
    move 1: Rest
    move 2: Sleep Talk
    move 3: Roar
move 4: Dragon Tail / Crunch
    item: Eviolite
    nature: Careful
    evs: 248 HP / 200 SpD / 60 Spe

    [SET COMMENTS]

<p>Zweilous's Dark/Dragon typing gives it many resistances to common special attacks and with 72 / 70 / 70 defenses alongside Eviolite, it can take on a huge slew of special attackers in the tier. The list of Pokemon that Zweilous beats is huge and these Pokemon provide it opportunities to phaze teams around with Roar and Dragon Tail to rack up damage from Stealth Rock and Spikes. Pokemon such as Eelektross, Rotom-S, Zebstrika, Serperior, Exeggutor, Ludicolo, Alomomola, Musharna, Charizard, Misdreavus, and Haunter make up a large portion of the metagame and are easily walled and taken advantage of by Zweilous.</p>

<p>Zweilous's main draw, other than walling special attackers, is its ability to phaze around with both Roar and Dragon Tail. Roar ignores the effects of Hustle and allows for more reliable phazing, while Dragon Tail ignores the effects of Taunt and deals damage but only has a shaky 72% accuracy when putting Hustle into account. Having both Roar and Dragon Tail at once might seem weird, but it maximizes the chances of Sleep Talk picking a phazing move, which is extremely useful to keep a phazing chain going. Crunch is a good option over Dragon Tail for 2HKOing Musharna, Duosion, and Misdreavus, but its use ends there. Crunch gets in the way of Sleep Talk's phazing and only deals decent damage to neutral targets. However, if your team is weak to those targets, Crunch can be a blessing as the combination of good special wall, phazing, and ability to beat Musharna, Duosion, and Misdreavus is not found on many other Pokemon in the tier.</p>

    [ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

<p>60 Speed EVs allow Zweilous to outspeed uninvested Alomomola and Tangela while also phazing them through Sleep Talk before they can do anything in return. This is really useful for Zweilous as it prevents Alomomola and Tangela from getting off a Wish or Leech Seed, respectively, which would decrease the damage done on the Pokemon being forced in to take damage from entry hazards. With all the talk about entry hazards, it should come to no surprise that some of the best partners for Zweilous are Stealth Rock and Spikes users. As this set is more tailored to fit on defensive teams, the best Stealth Rock users for the job are Metang, Bastiodon, Torkoal, and Regirock. Each have niches for stall teams and pair well with Zweilous, especially Metang and Torkoal, which have good defensive synergy with it and support it by countering Jynx and providing Rapid Spin support, respectively.</p>

<p>Rapid Spin users in general are very good for Zweilous, which doesn't like having to switch into entry hazards while attempting to wall the Pokemon it needs to. Torkoal and Wartortle are the best defensive Rapid Spin users in the tier; Torkoal providing a good check to Scolipede, Primeape, and Jynx, while Wartortle can guarantee Rapid Spin thanks to Foresight. As Zweilous is constantly using Rest, Heal Bell and Aromatherapy are great support options for it. They allow Zweilous to instantly wake up without having to be out on the field for two turns, which is useful if it desperately needs to be awake to get off another Rest or phaze with Roar. Musharna and Misdreavus are the best users of Heal Bell to partner with Zweilous as they can take the Fighting-type attacks aimed at it. Meganium, Audino, and Lickilicky are also good options to use Aromatherapy or Heal Bell on stall teams, but they compound weaknesses with Zweilous.</p>

mention how this set really enjoys rapid spin support from torkoal or wartortle so it won't be worn down while resting since it's easily forced out by the big three (primeape, jynx, scolipede). they have great defensive synergy together too

    other than that looks good

Great job EBeast, I'm just a little unsure if the majority of NU should be mentioned in the analysis or not xD. There were a few mistakes with commas, however. Also, don't forget the spaces before and after "Dark / Dragon typing" and "72 / 70 / 70 defenses". Aside from that, wonderful writing ^_^

    I really need to get a life instead of stalking AmChecks ^^; If at anytime me following you around annoys / disturbs you, Rohail, say something, because it's starting to creep me out as well. ;-;

-"60 Speed EVs allow Zweilous to outspeed minimum Speed Alomomola, (AC) as well as Tangela, (AC) and phaze them through Sleep Talk before they can do anything."

I don't think adding commas in this particular sentence is helping in making it sound better; now it just sounds choppy. Instead, it's probably best to reword the sentence, like so:
"60 Speed EVs allow Zweilous to outspeed minimum Speed Alomomola and Tangela while phazing them through Sleep Talk before they can do anything in return."

-"Each have niches for stall teams and pair well with Zweilous, specially Metang and Torkoal, (AC) who have good defensive synergy with it and support it by countering Jynx and providing Rapid Spin support, respectively."
Shouldn't it be specifically or especially? Specially alone just sounds improper.

-"Rapid Spin users in general are very good for Zweilous, who doesn't like having to switch into entry hazards while attempting to wall the Pokemon it needs to."
I'd assume it would be a semi-colon instead of a comma? Just a subjective guess here.

-"Torkoal and Wartortle are the best defensive Rapid Spin users in the tier, (AC) Torkoal provides the team with a good check to Scolipede, Primeape, and Jynx; (semi) while Wartortle can guarantee Rapid Spin thanks to Foresight"
I think you got those two mixed up; it should be a semi-colon at the top, and a comma after Jynx.

-"It allows Zweilous to instantly wake up without having to be out on the field for 2 two turns if it desperately needs to be awake to get off another Rest or phaze with Roar."

the aforementioned -> these / those. Never use aforementioned, it's pretentious and too scholarly for a pokemon analysis.

Also not liking this change too much (god i wish this were an rby analysis so i could just change it to Heal Bellers lol):
    make it:

[box]Musharna and Misdreavus are the best users of Heal Bell partners for to partner with Zweilous as they can take the Fighting-type attacks aimed at it.[/box]

Other than that, great write-up EBeast and great ammy check Rohail17!
    Consider this...

    [gp]1/2[/gp]

edit: yeah also read Governess's suggestion on specially. Is it specially-defensive Metang? Otherwise it's "especially," unless you're Ricky Ricardo :-p

Okay implemented the GP changes. Yeah it was supposed to be especially, thanks for pointing that out. The only thing I didn't completely implement was the list of Pokemon that Zweilous beats. I shortened it to only contain the most relevant Pokemon, but I think it's important to specifically list what Pokemon Zweilous beats.

Just a minor nitpick, but you don't need to list the ability if the Pokemon only has one.

"Each have niches for stall teams and pair well with Zweilous, especially Metang and Torkoal, who have good defensive synergy with it and support it by countering Pokemon like [yes, like, not such as] Jynx and providing Rapid Spin support, respectively.</p>".

My apologies, but I object to that change. 'like' is used for similar aspects, 'such as' is for specific details, examples, or Pokemon, and in such a sentence, 'such as' should be used. Like is only used for sentences such as this one: "Like other Steel-types, Probopass has many resistances" or "Monferno, like other Fighting-types, has Mach Punch". Of course, if 'such as' gets too repetitive, "for instance" or something of the sort could be used, but definitely not like. Because it's well past midnight, I'm not going to check this over, but that bold part just caught my attention.

EDIT: Of course, if GP has objections to my objection, that is ok as well, but I have been told from numerous GP members the distinct difference from 'such as' and 'like' and unless I mixed it up, I believe I have the concept of it well. Otherwise, it was an excellent amcheck; sorry for butting in on it, but it caught my eye.

I'll do Governess's job of stalking amchecks today :P

I believe that "however" should be there as the writer was comparing Roar with Dragon Tail, so "additionally" is probably not the correct term.

As the writer is only mentioning one Pokemon, your change seems to be a little bit of fluff; however, this is my personal opinion, and because I'm not part of GP, you can ignore me :P

Zweilous's name was already mentioned fairly close to where you want it to be mentioned again, so I think that the pronoun "it" should go there instead; once again, my personal preference. Adding the word "to" kind of disturbs the flow IMO, so I don't think that's needed.

Great amcheck otherwise though, and remember, because I'm not official GP (yet), you don't have to implement my suggestions into your check.

<p>Rapid Spin users in general are very good for Zweilous, who which doesn't like having to switch into entry hazards while attempting to wall the Pokemon it needs to. It allows They allow Zweilous to instantly wake up without having to be out on the field for two turns, which is useful if it desperately needs to be awake to get off another Rest or phaze with Roar.
