The Create-A-Pokemon community would like to present to you our newest creation: Malaconda! After 82 days of intense debating, creative submissions, and community voting, our ship has arrived at the harbor. Although the voyage was filled with hazards, arguments, and conflicting visions, we managed to work together and complete the journey. Malaconda is a Dark / Grass Pokémon that's designed to serve as an equalizer of the types; it's a threat to certain Water- and Dragon-types. Specifically, it's meant to take down some of sun teams' most imminent threats, including Politoed and Latias. It's got a few nifty tricks too; don't be surprised if it regenerates its Berry with Harvest or paralyzes your Ground-types with Glare!
Since we've finished creating our new Pokemon, it's time for the official CAP 5 playtest to begin! The playtest is limited to a two week period where competitive Pokemon battlers will play in a metagame consisting of Black 2 & White 2 Overused Pokemon and Malaconda. This isolated test will determine how well Malaconda held to its original concept. Perhaps you'll develop a synergistic sun team featuring Malaconda utilizing LumRest, or fight against the competition with your favorite rain and sand teams. If you like to experiment and battle in a fun, creative, and combative environment in OU with an entirely new competitive Pokemon, check out Pokemon Showdown! to get your fix.
If you're interested in CAP in general, head on over to the CAP forum, where we're running a variety of side projects. We still have to decide on Malaconda's third ability (it's going to be non-competitive) and Pokédex entries, so please join us and vote for those! Scope out the CAP sub-site if you're looking to discover more information on CAP. We're always on the lookout for new members who want to get involved with our community. It doesn't matter if you're a veteran battler, a savvy artist, or an energetic debater, we'd love to have you on board! CAP is always cooking up something new, so why not join in on the fun? ~Birkal
