Confuse Ray

Description

Confuses the target. Despite being a Ghost-type move, it will successfully confuse Normal-type targets. It will fail if the target has a Substitute or if the target is already confused.

Competitive Use

Confuse Ray is a 100% accuracy move that induces confusion to any Pokemon. It's common to use Confuse Ray alongside Thunder Wave—the dreaded parafusion tactic. Lapras does this well, having access to both Confusion Ray and Body Slam, additionally taking most hits very well due to its bulk. Paralysed and confused foes will only have a 37.5% chance to successfully execute their moves.
