A fairly threatening sweeper. Bring in Gardevoir by abusing Trace. It works best against Levitators using Earthquake (Flygon, Claydol) or Pokémon with an absorption ability (Jolteon, Vaporeon). Calm Mind up and smite opponents with that mighty Special Attack stat. If Snorlax is trying to ruin the fun, Will-O-Wisp can teach it a lesson. You can also choose to Destiny Bond stuff into its grave. Using Salac Berry for that isn't a bad idea, though it kind of gives away the surprise. The last two moveslots are interchangeable with each other and about any Other Option.

4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Here, you want to trap something like Blissey as it switches in, use Hypnosis, and then set up a Calm Mind sweep, reapplying Hypnosis if they ever wake up. Gardevoir's defenses are high enough to let it take that one hit as they wake up, for the most part.

This is Gardevoir trying to be Jynx. Hypnosis a counter and Calm Mind up. Use Substitute to guard against status, block Critical Hits, and scout for early-wakeups. Not as good as Jynx at this because of a less accurate Sleep move, lower Speed, and because Psychic flat-out fails to hit Dark types (as opposed to Jynx's Ice Beam, which hits everything), but at least it can take a hit.

This set can be used as a special wall of sorts. You can counter either Dragon Dance Salamence or Gyarados as long as you stay healthy, and Wish helps your team out. Wish Blissey might outclass this in some ways though.

Other Options

Gardevoir's movepool is insane. You can vary its moveset with a lot of things, mixing and matching sets as you find appropriate. Moves like Will-O-Wisp, Hypnosis, and Wish can be put wherever you want.

Fire Punch is good for Grasses, like Celebi, and Steels, like Metagross. Hidden Power Grass is always good on Psychics as it hurts Tyranitar and Claydol, and of course OHKOs Swampert.

With Psych Up, you can steal boosts from Suicune, Celebi or Jirachi, and then proceed to beat them up with your now ridiculous Special Attack. Suicune will lose to Thunderbolt, Jirachi to Fire Punch, and Celebi to both Fire Punch and Ice Punch. Thunder Wave Paralyzes opponents which is always good. Memento can be used to suicide on something so you can switch in a Belly Drummer or a Focus Puncher next and hurt the crap out of opponents. Again, beware of Metagross' Clear Body. Light Screen and Reflect are always a great help. Snatch can be fun to steal Calm Minds.

It should be noted that while Trace is a fun ability to toy around with, Synchronize can be neat as well to come into a Dusclops or Weezing Will-O-Wisp and bounce it right back at them. Gardevoir doesn't like to be Burned for too long though, so make sure to use Heal Bell or Aromatherapy afterward.

EVs

Defensive Gardevoir versions should max out HP and use Calm. However, if you're sweeping, invest in Speed and Special Attack mostly. Good Speed points are 244 and 270. 244 Speed (192 EVs) beats every Tyranitar, while 270 Speed (200 EVs with a Timid nature) beats Adamant Heracross. A defensive Calm Minder isn't a bad idea though. Putting some Defense can help Gardevoir to barely survive things like Meteor Mash.

Opinion

Gardevoir has a load of movepool options, and the key to keep it from being outclassed by other Psychics is to use them. Gardevoir has severe Speed problems, so you will usually not find it easy to sweep teams unless it has a Salac Berry to back it up. However, it can mess with common Psychic counters like Metagross and Snorlax fairly well and is an excellent supporter.

Counters

Blissey walls any Special Attack, but she cannot beat Gardevoir on her own if Gardevoir has Wish or Rest, and Gardevoir might Mean Look her. Snorlax hates being Will-O-Wisped, but it can Curse up and Rest it off if it so desires, and can pound Gardevoir on its low Defense. Calm Minded Psychics will hurt Snorlax though, so be careful. Metagross resists Psychic and Ice Punch and can Meteor Mash Gardevoir into oblivion, just avoid Will-O-Wisp and Fire Punch. Tyranitar is immune to Psychic and hits Gardevoir with its STAB Rock Slide or Crunch, but again beware of Will-O-Wisp. Celebi and Jirachi both resist Psychic and may choose to engage in a Psychic war. If Gardevoir isn't packing Calm Mind it's very likely these two will pose problems. Claydol can attack Gardevoir with Earthquake, but if Gardevoir switches in, it will Trace Levitate. Regice can go toe-to-toe with the Calm Minder if it has Psych Up, though it may need a Critical Hit or a Freeze to actually pull it off. Without Calm Mind, Gardevoir isn't getting past it anytime soon.

Generally, Gardevoir cannot stand hard physical hits. While it cannot effectively switch into Gardevoir's powerful special attacks, Tauros, Aerodactyl, Dodrio, and Salamence are all faster and really hurt Gardevoir. Heracross does too, but it should be more careful for Psychic. Heracross has the advantage of being able to absorb Will-O-Wisp without being ruined though. Beware that Timid Gardevoir is faster than Adamant Heracross. Choice Band Swellow is another option, as it will easily OHKO Gardevoir with a Guts Return / Double-Edge / Facade.
